The sound of bullets being fired, explosions everywhere, cruelly mutilated bodies with gunshot wounds, and the constant daze of endless gunfire. A chaotic environment can easily drive a person to total madness due to such a bloody slaughter and they would not hesitate to resort to suicide in order to free themselves from such hell.
"Captain, the omnics outnumber us. What do we do!?" A woman quickly came to after seeing a soldier fall to the ground.
"Gather everyone and prepare for a tactical withdrawal, we need to start plan b. Hurry!!.* The woman yelled but then she witnessed in horror as the soldier's skull was pierced by a bullet causing blood to cover the skull woman's face.
"No!! Damn it, retreat!! Everyone regroup and follow me now!!" the woman yelled causing the soldiers to quickly follow the woman but unfortunately slowly the soldiers were killed until they reached a safer trench.
"Captain, have some water." A female soldier approached with a canteen filled with water but the woman looked at the soldier in confusion as her vision slowly seemed to distort.
"Sister, sister. Vivian, please wake up!" The soldier yelled causing the woman to shake her head until her eyes widened showing that she was not on the battlefield, and now she was in a room.
"Sister, for God's sake. Are you okay? You're sweating." Said a woman with concern while Vivian sat on the bed and touched her heart to calm down.
"I'm fine, Valentine. I just had a nightmare, that's all." Vivian said as the woman tried to relax while the other woman watched everything with concern.
"Okay. Umm, I'll be downstairs making breakfast. We'll wait for you." Valentine said before walking out of the room to leave Vivian alone.
The woman got out of bed and walked to face a painting. In the painting you could see some medals of honor and two photographs where Vivian was in a military uniform and the second photograph showed her with old Overwatch agents.
"And we delivered the value medal, for her leadership and courage for Captain Vivian for having fought without fear of the omnica threat..."
"Overwatch? Why would Overwatch notice someone like me?"
"You have extraordinary abilities, Vivian. The world needs people like you, you are a woman with unique abilities and qualities that make you the leader Overwatch needs you."
"Call me, Sojourn."
Vivian sighed before sitting on her bed. Throughout her life, she experienced things that made her a living legend. So many missions, so many unknown countries and peoples that she and hers, her soldiers, had to go. No doubt her life had been complete madness, not to mention her childhood.
"I'd better go downstairs. I don't want to worry Valentine and Bonnie." Vivian said before getting up and walking to the door to go into the kitchen.
When we got to the station. I saw that everything was just as technological as England, but still. It kept the charm of the place.
"Very good, Benja. Now listen, be very careful with Sojourn, she is a woman who is very distrustful of people, especially when it comes to Overwatch agents she doesn't know. Keep your mind clear and try to be nice, she can see the lies like no one else." Cassidy said seriously making me nod.
"I understand. I'll be careful." I said seriously but then I saw Cassidy give me a wallet with money which caught my attention.
"Buy yourself a hot chocolate. I hear it's really cold around here these days, and if you're wondering about the wallet. Let's just say one of Ashe's friends isn't going to miss it." Said the man with a smile making me put the wallet away.
"Thanks Cassidy. I hope we can see each other soon, if you need any help just give me a call and I'll be there as fast as I can." I said seriously making the man smile.
"Good luck, Benja. We'll see you soon." Cassidy said before getting into a taxi to go to the nearest airport.
I started walking through the streets full of snow. I was very surprised by the fact of finding some robots walking among the people. I used to meet robots in Monster High, including my girlfriend Robecca. But I had never seen robots with different designs, sizes or with improved technology.
"Impressive, it's like walking on the streets of New Salem. But I can't show my kitsune ears or tails, otherwise people will be very nervous and things will surely get complicated." I said quietly before looking around to find an alley before hiding.
"Athena. It's me, Benja. I'm in Toronto looking for an Overwatch agent named Sojourn, could you tell me where she is currently?" I asked curiously while looking around to make sure no one was there.
"According to the Overwatch database. Captain Sojourn gave no indication of where she would be, but. The data shows me that she lived in a neighborhood that is a few blocks away from you." Athena said making me nod.
"Thanks Athena, I'll let you know if anything happens." I said before leaving the alley and starting to walk through the streets of the city following Athena's instructions.
Valentine was busy cooking some pancakes while she watched Vivian eat some cereal with her daughter Bonnie while the girl watched TV. Valentine sighed somewhat sadly as she could see something in her sister, as if Vivian was off.
"Bonnie, get ready. The bus should be arriving by now." Said Valentine as the other girl finished her breakfast.
"Yes mom. See you later Aunt Vivian." Bonnie said before giving the woman a kiss on the cheek before saying goodbye to her mother giving her a hug before leaving the house.
"Vivian. Can we talk?" Valentine asked making her sister walk over to where she is.
"Vivian. I've been thinking, and maybe it's time for you to take a break. I know you're retired from exercise and Overwatch, but. You'd better relax a bit." The girl said with concern but that annoyed Vivian a bit.
"Valentine. You don't get it, do you? We're talking about what happened to me in the warrior, do you have any idea how hard it is trying to forget something like that?" Vivian asked seriously but that also angered her sister.
"Yes, I know!!. My God, Vivian. I know what you went through and I understand the things you had to do. I know this is not like our childhood but please. I wish you could relax for a moment and leave All that behind me. The war is over, you are no longer in Overwatch and you are no longer in the army. Now you can live in peace." Valentine said with concern while Vivian shook her head.
"I don't know it's over, Valentine. Watch the news, they killed Mondatta. What's next? Another politician? A president? This world is collapsing, I want to save the world. But I can't. Not without my team." Vivian said with some disappointment and sadness making Valentine sigh.
"There's nothing we can do sister. We can only accept it, besides. Why don't you contact Winston? I'm sure he could accept you and return you as captain." Valentine said but that made her sister look away.
"I would. But now, Bonnie's grown a lot. I feel like I've been in the army all my life and, I want to be with you a little bit more just like with Bonnie." Vivian said with a soft smile making her sister smile.
"I like that you're here too sis. Although, I thought with the time you've been away you would have gotten a boyfriend." Valentine said making Sojourn laugh.
"How funny, sis. Well, I think I'll take Murphy for a walk. What are you going to do?" Vivian asked curiously while her sister took a bag.
"I'll go get some things for lunch. I'll see you later sister." Valentine said before hugging her sister before walking away, leaving Vivian alone.
Vivian looked for a moment at a photograph where she was a little girl, her sister and her. The woman looked at the photo with some sadness and anger. Not only the war left her marked by all the people who died in charge of her. She also almost lost her entire family, something she would never forgive herself for.
"Going back would be nice. But I can't neglect Bonnie and Valentine. I've already done it once, I don't think it will happen again." Vivian said seriously before relaxing and looking for her little dog.
I have to admit it. It is the first time that I go to Canada, this city is magnificent in every way. The streets were clean, the cold was perfect for me, and the sky was beautiful. A perfect day.
"Okay. I think I'll go get some hot chocolate first, then I'll continue looking for Sojourn." I said before entering a cafeteria. The place was huge and I could literally see machinery that was roasting and grinding the coffee beans.
"Good morning, gentleman. What can we offer you?" I ask a robot which caught my attention before seeing the options. I was very surprised to see that there was a wide variety of drinks, toasts, pancakes, waffles, coffees and among other things.
"Umm, yes. I'd like a hot chocolate please." I said with a smile making the omnic nod and leave. I look around to see many people both humans and robots sharing a nice breakfast.
"Your order, sir." I turned around only to be surprised when the robot returned with my chocolate. That was faster than in fairness, I remember Barry and I only took 12 seconds, and the omnic only took 7 seconds.
"Oh thank you very much." I said before putting the money on the table before going to sit at one of the tables next to a window to continue seeing the city.
I stopped for a moment to think and then looked at my icoffin to see a picture of me and all my team. He smiles with some pain, it made me happy to know that Nadia, Tatsu and the black herons were able to prevent the explosion. But still, that didn't stop me from missing home.
"I have to be patient. Jinafire always said that patience and determination are the keys to excitement. As long as I'm here, I have a clear mission and goal. I must save this world now and bring Overwatch back together." I said quietly but when I was close to drinking my chocolate...
"Get down now!!" I quickly ducked when I saw some men enter and shoot into the sky causing everyone to hide.
"The money now, robot!!." The man yelled before pointing his gun at the omnic as the other men quickly began taking everyone's belongings.
"There will be no robberies as long as I am alive." I said as electricity covered my body.
The man was pointing his gun at the robot, while the omnic stuffed the last few bills into a bag. But to everyone's astonishment and surprise, a vine engulfed in flames hit the man's hand causing him to drop his weapon.
"I'm sorry. But I will not allow this in my presence." Everyone saw me in my hero outfit and with my fire whips making the thieves quickly point their weapons at me.
"What the fuck are you, freak!?" One of the men yelled seriously making my eyes shine.
"I am a monster. Or rather, a Kitsune. And my name is Elemental Mage." I said seriously while my fox tails were covered in fire which shocked the thieves a lot.
"Fucking mother, kill that monster!!." The thieves began to shoot but to everyone's astonishment but to the terror of the men, they saw how I raised my hands making a magical shield protect me from the shots.
"I'm sorry, but I'm busy. I think it would be better if I put them to sleep." I said before making some roots to catch the thieves. Suddenly some flowers appeared from the roots and released a gas that left the thieves asleep.
"Everyone alright?" I asked with concern but suddenly all the children began to surround me and shout my name while the local people came to where I was.
"Thank you very much, hero. Are you with overwatch?" A man asked which made people even more excited.
"Does that mean Overwatch is back?" asked a woman with joy making me laugh shyly.
"Sorry people but. I have to go, a hero's work is never done." I said sheepishly before leaving the place and flying away. People followed me but noticed that I was gone, however. I was on the roof of the building before I sighed and changed into my civilian clothes.
Vivian had finished walking her dog. The woman was now busy polishing what appeared to be a weapon. She looked at the weapon with eyes full of nostalgia remembering her days in overwatch but she also frowned her face remembering her past in the war.
"And in the latest news. We've just been informed that a mysterious hero has appeared in town, preventing a robbery at a coffee shop located downtown." Vivian looked at the television and put her gun down to turn up the volume.
"According to witnesses. This hero stopped the criminals using magic. Here is a video from the security cameras that makes this shocking revelation more credible." A reporter said before showing the video from the security cameras where I was fighting the criminals.
"It was shocking. I thought my daughter would be in danger, but that man defeated those thieves with plants. It's amazing!" A man shouted with the impression just like the rest of the people in the place.
"Many say that Overwatch is back and this hero is with them. Could this be the return of our beloved heroes? The legends returned?." asked the reporter before Vivian turned off the television.
"Overwatch. Coming back?." Vivian asked in surprise before looking at the photo from her days in Overwatch.
"Ugh, you must have heard wrong Vivian. Remember, the nations of the world have passed new laws. Overwatch can't come back, otherwise they would be defying and getting into trouble with the laws." The woman said seriously before getting up to grab a leash.
"Come on Murphy, it's time for your ride." The woman said but. Suddenly, the doorbell of the house started to ring causing Vivian to tense up.
"Bonnie's classes don't end that early. And Valentine's back in 20 minutes." the woman whispered before looking at a rug that was under a nightstand. While the doorbell kept ringing.
"Murphy. Hideout." The dog noticed Vivian's concern and she quickly hid while the woman quickly made her way to the nightstand before removing the rug to reveal a secret hatch. The woman opened the hatch only to find something from her past...
"Hello. Old friend." Vivian said before she held up some kind of weapon that seemed to be a rifle. The woman couldn't help but feel a strong headache due to all the memories of her that came rushing through causing the woman to sweat but she quickly regained her composure as the gun seemed to light up.
"How strange. Is this Mrs. Sojourn's house?" I asked before checking the location Athena had given me.
I decided to wear my hero suit and use my magic to fly, I managed to contact Athena to find out Sojourn's location. When I arrived, I quickly removed my hero outfit to avoid attracting attention, however, I was confused by the fact that the woman seemed not to be home.
"Will there be no one home?" I asked curiously before continuing to ring the bell, but I didn't notice eyes looking at me from a window.
"That boy. What is he doing here? He doesn't look like a friend of Bonnie's." Vivian said seriously before walking to the entrance with the pulse rifle still in her hands and one finger poised on the trigger.
"Umm, hello? Is anyone home?" I asked doubtfully but then saw the door open only to see cybernetic eyes from the shadows.
"Can I help you?." Vivian asked curiously but discreetly the woman was keeping her weapon at the door.
"Umm, yes. Excuse me, I'm looking for a woman named Vivian Chase?" I asked curiously but the woman looked at me seriously.
"Who asks?." Vivian asked coldly as her fingers seemed to be clenching the gun tightly.
"Umm excuse me. My name is Benjamin and I'm looking for Miss Vivian to talk about an important topic. It's about Overwatch." I said nervously but the woman narrowed her eyes.
"How do you know I was in Overwatch?" Vivian asked coldly which surprised me a lot.
"Excuse me?." Suddenly the woman opened the door and I was very surprised that she will point a gun at me making me more nervous.
"Who sent you? You better talk kid." Vivian said coldly as the weapon seemed to glow brightly.
"Overwatch!! I work for Overwatch, my name is Benjamin and I'm helping Winston get the team together!!." I screamed in fear but that made the woman look at me more seriously.
"I don't believe you. I've been working on Overwatch for years and I've never seen you. You're lying to me." Vivian said coldly as the weapon seemed to glow.
"I'm part of the Overwatch team!! I'm helping Winston, Cassidy gave me this map so I can find you." I said in fear but quickly jumped to avoid a shot.
"I'm not in the mood for your games, kid. You'd better get off my property right now." Vivian said coldly before reloading the gun.
"But what he said is true. Athena told me that here I could find someone named Sojourn. A woman with unique skills in strategy formation and loyal to her co-workers. Please, you must believe in me." I said afraid but the woman pointed her gun at me.
"How do you know about all that? And how can I believe that you are part of us?" Vivian asked coldly making me serious.
"Because I'm a hero. And my mission is to protect the world just like Overwatch." I said as an aura of fire covered me causing Sojourn to cover her eyes only to be surprised to see me wearing my hero outfit.
"You. You are the hero of the news. So, what you said, is it true?" Vivian asked with surprise as I slowly but carefully approached where the woman was.
"My name is Benjamin. I'm an Overwatch agent, I'm helping Winston to get the whole team together again. And I'm looking for a woman named Sojourn." I said before changing back to my normal clothes as the woman lowered her gun.
"That woman is me." Vivian said before sighing and turning off the power on the gun.
"We can talk?." I asked curiously but I noticed that the woman was a bit distracted before coming back to herself.
"Umm, yeah. Sure, come on in." the woman said before letting me into her house. The house had normal furniture but some things like the TV and some appliances looked different.
"Wipe your feet and go to the kitchen. I have to see something." Vivian said before going up the stairs while I cleaned my shoes.
The woman walked until she reached her room. When she entered, she walked up to an old, almost dusty computer. Vivian wiped the screen before turning on the computer. Suddenly multiple emails came through until she saw the message that Winston and I sent.
"What the..." Vivian looked at the message before playing it.
Everything began to revolve around Vivian's mind. Every word Winston and I had said, the images that were happening around the world, everything that made the woman want to turn off the computer but a part of her said that she had to keep watching.
"Winston. What kind of madness is this?" Vivian asked in surprise before sitting down in her chair so she could relax her head after all she saw.
'Sister. How I wish I had her help right now.' the woman thought before getting up and slowly going down to the kitchen where I am.
A deep silence settled in as Sojourn stared at me. The woman didn't know what to say or think with everything she saw, while I was nervous because of the woman's look.
"So. You say Overwatch is back, right?" I ask Vivian seriously making me more nervous.
"Yes, that's right. Winston asked me to find all the Overwatch agents. First I met an agent named Cole Cassidy and he gave me a map to find the agents more easily." I said before showing the map to Sojourn.
"Winston didn't tell you, did he?" The woman asked seriously before getting up and walking to the living room making me follow the woman.
"Tell me, about what?" I asked curiously as Vivian played a recording of a meeting between the governments.
"Ladies, gentlemen. Thank you very much for being here. As you may already know, we have discovered something disastrous and very disturbing about our heroes in Overwatch. A few days ago there was a murder by Overwatch soldiers, soldiers who are in an organization occult called Blackwatch."
"We have discovered that Overwatch has kept this organization of assassins secret in the shadows for long enough. This is a very sad and heartbreaking thing to entrust our safety and loyalty to assassins. That is why myself and representatives of national security have Took a decision."
"From now on. Any Overwatch activity, whether hidden or public, will be prohibited. Overwatch will be prohibited from operating in any operation and above all, any activity that they carry out. They will be stopped." A man said before Vivian turned off the television.
"Nations around the world have already spoken and made their decision. Overwatch can no longer operate any mission without breaking federal law. And any action we take will be deemed illegal and prohibited." Vivian said seriously but with sadness deep down while I watched everything with shock.
"But. Even though this is illegal, the world is in crisis. There are so many attacks and countries can hardly defend themselves, we can't just stand by and let people die!!" I yelled in concern as Sojourn walked into the kitchen again making me follow her.
"You're right in what you say. But we can't do anything. Overwatch is illegal now and if we try to do something, then it will be us against the world. It may have been years since the approval was carried out, but still. We can't go back, I can't go back." Vivian said before stopping and sitting down.
"But the world is in danger. We have to do something." I said with concern but Sojourn just fell silent before looking at a picture of Valentine and Bonnie.
"I no longer have that responsibility. My concern now is here, with my family. I am no longer in charge of a team, and I don't know if I will be able to do it again. I put my family in danger before, I will not make that mistake again time." Vivian said sadly making me look away.
"I understand. I respect that, I have a family too and I protect them every day so nothing bad happens to them. I'm sorry I came here Miss Vivian. I'll leave you alone." I said before looking at Vivian one last time before leaving the woman alone.
I walked slowly through the streets and sighed a little sadly because of Sojourn. I was about to look at the map again to look for another Overwatch agent but suddenly my comlink started beeping.
"Benja, it's me Mei. Winston and Tracer went to the museum near you. I need you to go help them, I can't go at the moment, my weapon is still under repair." Mei said with concern making me serious.
"Understood. I'm going there now." I said seriously before an aura of fire covered me and I quickly flew out in my hero outfit.
Bonnie was with her class at the city museum. The girl was looking at the many things that Overwatch had done since they were in an exhibition where all the achievements of the heroes were seen. However, what caught her attention the most were the things Vivian had done.
"Bonnie. Don't be distracted." The girl came to before leaving with the rest of her classmates.
"Now children, stay together. We are going to see one of the most valuable items in the entire collection." Said the teacher making the teenagers excited.
"Children. With you, I present to you. Doomfist's glove." Said the teacher causing everyone to see this with surprise and look at the glove.
"Wow, I heard that with that glove Doomfist was able to destroy an entire building with one hit." Bonnie said with surprise but suddenly a tremor shook the place which caught everyone's attention.
"Kids stay together." Said the teacher but suddenly everyone saw how Winston fell causing everyone to cover themselves. Widowmaker shot the hook at him to free himself from the scientist's grasp before taking aim with his sniper, Winston quickly reacted and covered all the students.
"Enjoying the exhibition children?." Winston asked with a smile but the gorilla would be annoyed by Widowmaker's shots.
"Oh, good, recess is over. Take cover." Said the gorilla making all the children quickly run to hide.
Winston quickly ran to try to attack Widowmaker but suddenly a shadow approached him and Reaper suddenly appeared before laughing and starting shooting causing Winston to take cover.
"I already found you." Widowmaker said as the girl looked at Doomfist's glove with her sniper.
"Psst, what are you looking at?" Widowmaker quickly jumped before starting to fire at Tracer. The girl began to quickly dodge the bullets before returning fire.
Bonnie at that point began recording the entire fight in amazement and fascination. Winston and Tracer were giving it their all in the fight fighting Reaper and Widowmaker, however. At one point Reaper started laughing causing the Overwatch agents to look at this with concern.
"Die, die, die..." The Reaper suddenly made a large dark mist appear before starting to fire as he spun causing Winston to take cover. However, Tracer had overloaded the throttle causing the girl to quickly hide so the throttle could recover.
"Tracer..." The girl turned to look at Bonnie, the teenager was very surprised.
"Oh, don't worry honey. The cavalry has arrived." Traver said with a smile but the girl was looking at Bonnie analytically before looking back at Winston.
Winston was moving forward and taking cover from the bullets before jumping to try and attack Reaper, but the man quickly dodged Winston causing the gorilla to fall to the ground exhausted as his glasses landed near Tracer.
"Come on big guy. Get up." Tracer whispered worriedly as Widowmaker reached for Doomfist's gauntlet.
"You are ours." Widowmaker said before breaking the glass to take the glove but...
"Air Element: Crescent of Air!!." Widowmaker looked up only to be hit by a crescent of air causing the woman to fall to the ground and back a few meters until she was close to the Reaper.
"You again..." Reaper said with venom as I was flying in front of them.
"I won't let them harm innocent people. And I won't let them take this glove." I said seriously as Widowmaker recovered from the blow.
"Let's see if those words can last." The woman said before firing. I quickly started flying to dodge the high speed attacks while Reaper looked at everything seriously.
"Fire Element: Dragon's Breath!!" I quickly unleashed a strong blast of fire causing the Reaper and Widowmaker to fall back as I landed next to Winston.
"Hold on Winston, here I am." I said before growing some plants in my hands. The plantars began to release a gas causing the gorilla to slowly recover.
"It's good to see you again, Benja." Winston said with a smile but I quickly had to create a magical shield to protect us from the Reaper and Widowmaker's shots.
"I'd better buy Tracer some time, her accelerator's overloaded." The gorilla said seriously before getting up.
"I'll help you buy more time." I said before taking a big leap and making my sword appear. I quickly grasped the hilt with both hands causing the blade to be covered in rocks.
"Earth Element: Rock Strike!!" I yelled before slamming into the ground generating a huge earthquake knocking Widowmaker and Reaper off balance for a moment. An advantage that Winston took advantage of to attack the man.
Vivian was playing with Murphy. The woman was looking at the Overwatch photo longingly, she was still thinking about what happened, my visit, and the video I made with Winston. The woman was seriously thinking about everything but...
"Latest news. Ladies and gentlemen, there is a fight going on at the history museum right now, but there is an even more shocking detail. This morning's hero is fighting alongside an Overwatch agent against what appears to be a woman with a rifle and what appears to be a man in a skull mask."
"The police report that they managed to evacuate all the civilians from the museum despite all the chaos and destruction, but apparently a student was trapped in the middle of the fight, now the security cameras will show where the fight is seen."
Vivian looked at everything with shock. The woman quickly recognized the Talon agents but she was shocked and horrified to see Bonnie next to Tracer. That made the woman rise abruptly from the chair.
"Bonnie!!. My little one, hold on!!." The woman looked at her pulse rifle before taking it and quickly leaving the house. Vivian's legs seemed to release smoke and suddenly part of her legs opened causing thrusters to increase the speed of the woman and she ran faster.
Winston and I were having a hard time fighting. Reaper was very dangerous with his shots causing Winston to barely get close, Widowmaker was quick to shoot and moved so fast that I could hardly attack.
"What's wrong, hero. Tired?" Widowmaker asked before pointing his rifle at me and starting shooting causing me to quickly start doing acrobatic jumps to dodge the bullets before taking a big leap.
"Ice Element: Big Blizzard!!" I yelled before releasing a strong gust of freezing wind. Widowmaker had to take cover but suddenly the woman was surprised by a kick to her face causing her to fall to the ground and roll from the blow.
Reaper was about to deliver the final shot at Winston but the man noticed the gorilla's glasses on the ground before stepping on them. Winston seeing that his blood began to boil before letting out a loud roar of anger before attacking furiously causing the Reaper to back up with difficulty.
"It's over, give up." I said seriously but suddenly the woman shot her hook leaving something behind. I saw that it was a bomb, when the bomb exploded I quickly knelt down and began to cough from the poison while Widowmaker had a smile and approached Doomfist's glove.
"So cute but, so naive." The woman said with a smile but some of her roots stopped her.
"My plants protect me. And I protect nature." I said seriously while my hair and eyes were now meta green. But neither of us noticed that the glove was gone.
"Hey freak!!" Widowmaker turned only to receive a powerful blow from Doomfist's gauntlet by Bonnie. The woman was sent flying as Bonnie fell to the ground as the glove seemed to have broken from the blow.
Widowmaker quickly got up and tried to shoot Bonnie but Winston appeared in front of the woman before roaring furiously, Widowmaker started shooting but Tracer suddenly appeared before kicking the woman's rifle, I quickly used my vines before taking a big leap to throw fireballs
Widowmaker quickly hooked the ceiling before going up with Reaper. The man would drop some bombs while Winston chased them as well as Tracer.
"Umm, excuse me." I turned to see Bonnie. The girl held Doomfist's glove with a sheepish smile.
"You know something. The world is always waiting to be heroes. Maybe one day the world needs someone as brave as you." I said smiling before using my roots to lock Doomfist's glove in place before flying away while Bonnie was slightly blushing and surprised.
"Winston, Tracer. Where are they?" I asked through the comlink but didn't realize that a heel soldier was pointing at me from a building.
"We're chasing Reaper and Widowmaker. Hold your position, we'll be coming for you soon." Tracer said through the comlink.
"Understood. I'll be here." I said as I look around to make sure everything is alright.
"Target in sight, sir." Said the soldier while the man still kept his sights on me.
"Put that brat to sleep. Moira will love her new patient." Reaper said into the comm. The soldier loaded the rifle with a dart before taking aim at me.
The man was about to shoot while I was distracted looking around the museum to make sure no one was left behind or hurt. The soldier was aiming to shoot but suddenly a loud shot was heard all over the place.
"You should never neglect your back, hero." I turned only to see with shock Vivian behind me. On the other hand the Talon soldier dropped his rifle and fell from the building dead due to a shot to the chest.
"Vivian!!. But, I thought. I would never be a hero again." I said surprised while the woman approached the broken glass to see the interior of the museum.
"It's true. I said I would never come back but I couldn't let my little Bonnie get hurt." The woman said as we both watched Bonnie being led out of the museum by the cops.
"That girl is very brave. She faced one of Talon's agents without fear." I said smiling before Vivian looks at me.
"You were amazing too. I have to admit, I was worried about you and Winston. I know those two Talon agents. I met them before..." Vivian said ruefully which got my attention.
"Are you alright, Miss Vivian?" I asked curiously but the woman quickly shook her head.
"Umm, yeah. I was just lost in the past. That's all." The woman said but then we noticed how the Overwatch ship was getting closer.
"Captain Sojourn. Nice to see you again." Winston said with a smile as the floodgates opened.
"Winston. Nice to see you again, too." Vivian said with a smile as I got on the ship with the woman.
"It's an honor to have you on board once again, Captain." Tracer said with a smile as the girl piloted the ship.
"Tracer, you haven't changed at all. You're still the same as always." Vivian said with a smile before watching the bus leave the museum.
"Don't worry, Captain. We'll get you home before Bonnie knows it, she's grown quite a bit." Winston said with a smile as Tracer led us to Vivian's house.
Vivian looked around her. The ship brought back many Overwatch memories, her old friendships, old missions where everyone laughed at each other's mistakes at the end. The woman watched as I was healing Winston while the gorilla and I talked about the things I did.
"Talon is planning something. If they go after Doomfist's glove, that means things are going to get ugly." Vivian said with concern before opening a small compartment in hers arm to see an old photograph of her on Overwatch duty.
"We are already arriving captain." Vivian snapped out of her thoughts before standing by the hatch. The woman looked at us and then at her home.
"Benja. I don't think you and I are done with our talk this morning." Vivian said which caught my attention a lot.
"Okay. Winston, if anything happens. Call me and I'll get to Gibraltar as fast as I can." I said smiling making the gorilla nod.
"Thanks for helping us Benja. Let us know if you need help." Winston said with a smile before walking over to Vivian.
"It was an honor to see you again, Captain. I hope we can work together soon like old times." The bouncer said with a smile as Vivian and I got off the ship.
"I hope so too Winston." The woman said with a smile before the ship left.
"Miss Vivian. What did you want to talk to me about?" I asked curiously as the woman and I entered the house.
"I've been thinking about it. If Talon is looking for Doomfist's glove that means that damn monster is or is about to get out of jail. That's going to cause a lot of trouble, and. I think you guys are going to need a leader to stop Talon from getting his way task." Sojourn said with a smile which impressed me a lot.
"Will you come back? I thought you wouldn't." I said very surprised but then I saw Vivian looking at a picture of her from her years in the army.
"Watching Bonnie beat her up and having the guts to hide in the middle of a fight. Makes me think she's grown so much, she can take care of herself. Plus, if Talon comes back, he'll take on me." the woman said before looking at me with a smile.
"Welcome back, Captain Sojourn." I said smiling while doing a military salute.
"Vivian. Call me, Vivian." The woman said with a smile. Suddenly we heard someone come in and we saw Bonnie and Valentine come in.
"Bonnie, Valentine." Vivian hugged her family with a smile as the two girls accepted the hug. But then Bonnie was really surprised to see me.
"You...are the hero who fought against criminals." Said the girl with surprise making me laugh shyly.
"Vivian, what's going on?" Valentine asked in surprise only to see her sister take the pulse rifle.
"Vivian is coming back to Overwatch. And my name is Sojourn." The woman said with a smile as Bonnie squealed with delight and Valentine dropped her shopping bags with an impact.
"Hahahaha, oh god this is so funny!!" A girl yelled as she watched the video from the museum's surveillance cameras. The girl kept repeating over and over again the scene where Bonnie hit Widowmaker while the woman was in the room with an ice pack on her ribs.
"Sombra, could you stop being so childish and leave that fucking recording alone?" Widowmaker asked coldly as the hacker girl continued to laugh.
"What's wrong, little spider? Are you embarrassed that the white-haired boy and a little girl beat you up?" The woman asked before laughing harder making Widowmaker angry but then they noticed the Reaper walking into the room.
"Hey, buddy. What did Moira tell you?" Sombra asked with a smile only to see the Reaper hit the wall near her.
"I'm not in the mood for your silly games, Sombra. We failed the mission, I hope you found something in your investigation." Reaper said seriously making the hacker girl smile.
"Ugh, what a grouch. Well, if it makes you smile a little. I found something interesting." The girl said before showing a video from the security cameras of the cafeteria where I was. Widowmaker and Reaper watched as an aura of fire covered me and now I was wearing my hero outfit.
"And an interesting fact. There is no technology with that capability." Sombra said with a smile as Reaper stopped the video on me.
"Do a face scan and find data on that kid. We have to have that brat here at all costs. With his abilities, nothing will stop us." Reaper said coldly before laughing as the hacker girl began to look into me at the civil records.
