The Little Mermaid (Mako Mermaid style)
Chapter Seven: Waking Ariel
Eric swam through the ocean as fast as he could. He could feel something was wrong, but he didn't know what it was. Something was calling him so he followed the call. this lead him to an underground grotto. as his head popped out of the water he saw The mermaid princess that he had been betrothed to marry before her kingdom was attacked. he had assumed she had been captured with the rest of her kingdom. he noticed she had legs, so using his magic, he pulled out of the water. as he got closer he saw that she was glowing purple. suddenly she screamed. Eric heard footsteps and whirled around.
"who are you?," Rita demanded.
"my name is Eric," He replied. "I am betrothed to Ariel. I'm the Prince of Aquatica"
"I see" before she could say anything else Ariel began to struggle as if she was bound. "what's going on?".
"I've seen this once before," Eric said. "it looks like a nightmare spell"
"oh no, how do we wake her?" A new voice asked. Eric turned to see two guys and a girl.
"the last time i saw this it was my mother who was under the spell" Eric replied. "my father woke up my mother with true loves kiss"
"does Ariel have a true love?" Cam asked. Eric sighed.
"i dont know," he said. Merfolk didnt really belive in true love as they were often betrothed at birth.
"yes, she does," another voice cut in. they turned to see a beautiful woman wearing a pink gown. she had long blonde hair and she was glowing.
"Aphrodite!" Rita exclaimed, "what are you doing here?"
"I came to help" Aphrodite explained. "Everyone on Mt. Olympus is worried about the situation..Anyway, Eric, you are Ariel's true love"
"how is that possible?" Eric asked. "we're betrothed, but that doesn't mean we're in love" Aphrodite smiled.
"Eric, when you were Four years old, Ariel's family visited your kingdom to sign a peace treaty. you and Ariel were playing, when the peace summit was attacked. you grabbed Ariels hand and the two of you glowed a bright golden color. it was a strong love bond. they're rare but thats why you were betrothed. its also why you were brought here. you're love connection lead you to her because she was in danger". Eric bit his lip, then knelt beside the sleeping mermaid.
"come back to us", he whispered before placing his lips on hers and giving her a chaste kiss. Ariels eyes flew open.
"Eric," she whispered. Eric hugged her.
"are you alright?" he asked. Ariel shook her head.
"no, but i will be" she replied.
"what do we do now?" Evie asked.
"now, we take back my kingdom" Ariel declared.
