Immunity Challenge
Day 3
"Come on in!"
The two tribes enter the challenge area, spotting Jeff who's standing in front of the challenge ahead. As they enter, a few Survivors get confessionals.
Sektor: We do not need to show our cards early. By winning, there will be no riots on our team. Yet.
Silver Sonic: The only chance I have of making the merge is winning every challenge until then. If my team can cooperate for two weeks, I will turn golden.
Drax: These machines have underestimated us for the last time.
They come to a stop, and get the rundown. "For the first time, you'll be competing for immunity. For today's challenge, you'll remove a heavy pile of debris to uncover a sled. You'll drag the sled to a series of stations, where you'll add a few wooden planks. When you have all six planks, you'll use them to build a staircase."
Cool, what's next?
"You'll retrieve a ring of keys, and THEN climb up a net. When you get up there, you'll unlock puzzle pieces and solve a word puzzle. First tribe to finish wins immunity, and gets a peaceful night at camp. The losers will see me tonight at Tribal Council, where someone will be the first person voted out of Borneo."
The challenge is "No Quarter" from Survivor 43, but a bigger one for some is just surviving the next day.
"I'll give you some time to prepare, and we'll get started."
The two tribes of nine have their eyes on the debris…well almost everyone. Drax and Monty make eye contact. The destroyer slashes his finger across his throat. The gator just slides his glasses down. "You serious bruh?"
"Very."
Jeff butts in. "Something wrong over here?"
"Just empty threats." Monty says with a snicker, knowing exactly what he's doing. Drax shakes his head. "You'll see, scrap."
"Alright, immunity on the line." Jeff switches. "Survivors ready?"
.
.
.
"GO!"
The tribes take to the debris. The Man tribe's making some progress as Drax and Chun do most of the heavy lifting. Daisy, Rick, Ulala, and Brandon all give hands too. Nabbit basically yanks a piece of debris off, but is already trying to catch his breath.
Then he sees Porky just standing there. "Help?" The kid just shoves a piece over. It's like he's not even trying.
Ulala turns around to look at the Machine tribe's progress, and they're ALREADY pulling their sled to the stations! Rick gets in her way. "Don't look at them, just focus on us."
While that tribe is left in the dust, the machines get a couple more planks on that sled. Megatron's force, and the speed of those like Silver Sonic, Gazelle, and the Cyber Lin Kuei make it too easy.
Rocket: The other team was floppin' so bad most of us just had a brisk walk. Like we're f*ckin shopping for parts.
Mankind finally tears all the debris off and frees their sled. Everyone pitches in, the effort varying as they get through a couple stations. Unfortunately for them, the machines are already building their staircase. "D*mn…. Rick mutters.
Rick: If this is how every challenge is gonna go, we need more than motivation.
The machines don't take long getting those stairs done. All that's left for the part is getting that ring unbooked. Sektor sprints up and does it in no time!
"Well done, Sektor. Who wants to do the puzzle?" Cyrax asks.
"Don't get too excited, we still got a net left." Rocket reminds him.
Cyrax brushes his comment off, as the nine head to climb that net. As for the other tribe, they're assembling their staircase.
"Keep our heads in it team!" Daisy shouts, not looking at how far the others are.
"Hard to keep my head in when the other team's obliterating us." Porky responds, but the Princess of Sarasaland isn't having that. "Are you going to sit there and b*tch or HELP!"
Chun-Li gets between the two. "Can we focus?"
Chun-Li: I understand how Rick feels.
Eventually they power through the stairs, but the machines are yet again, basically done with the next step. They get to unlocking the word puzzle pieces. While the other tribe tries catching up, they've already got them unlocked.
"Clank, you wanna take this out with me?" Rocket asks.
"I'm ready." He responds, and they get to work.
As for the man tribe, they've gotten some organization it seems, and picked up the pace. The ring's already been unhooked by Brandon, so all that's left before reaching the puzzle is the net….and Drax picks up Sackboy, who squirms around.
"Sorry little puppet, but you need up first."
He chucks him up there as his tribe watches in terror…but luckily he lands on his feet. He peeks his head over and glares at him though.
"What? It worked."
"There's better ways to do that." Rick explains. "That's not one of them."
Daisy: He could have killed him! I can't imagine what would happen to such a sweet sack. Does he look mean to you?
It's too little too late though, because Clank and Rocket are getting that puzzle put together.
"That goes here, and that goes up there." Rocket explains.
"We'll have to move this piece then…"
While those two talk puzzles, Monty leans toward Cyrax. "This is going way too quick for a puzzle. I'm not trippin right?"
"You are not tripping. It must be a focus of their programming. Some are used for combat, others for entertainment. They're used for their minds." Cyrax explains, and the Gator just scratches his metal scales. "So basically: experiments. Gotcha."
"Tone it down. That's a sensitive topic."
"Jeez ok…buzzkill." Monty mutters. Sektor hears that and stares at the gator who's unaware of the look.
Sektor: Self awareness isn't in his programming.
While Drax pulls people up the net, his fellow Guardian with a tin bot slides the last piece in.
"What's it say?!" Jeff asks.
"Make every second worth it!" Clank calls out.
"That is…"
.
.
.
.
"RIGHT! MACHINES WINS IMMUNITY!"
The machines cheer for themselves, nobody going home tonight. While they relish in victory, the losers slide down the net. The two tribes meet up with Jeff again.
"Congratulations to the machines, the nine of you are safe. Enjoy your time back at camp…" Jeff says, and the machines leave the challenge area, only one tribe left there. One machine is very satisfied.
Silver Sonic: Everytime we win, that's three more days here. I'd like to root for my teams downfall, but that will lead to mine. So for now, consider me a team player.
Jeff focuses on the losers. "As for you nine..today was rough. But your pain's not over yet. There's still Tribal Council where one of you will be the first person voted out. Head back to camp, I'll see you tonight."
The Man tribe leaves the challenge area, all of their necks on the line tonight. Safe to say, they aren't thrilled by their own performance.
In her confession, Ulala doesn't look happy. Can't blame her.
Ulala: Good evening viewers, this is Ulala comin' to you again from Borneo. Unfortunately for our Man tribe, they were mauled by machines. Can they come back? Or is it already over? Stay tuned to Space Channel 5 to find out.
Machine
Day 3
Clank, Cyrax, Dark Samus, Megatron, Mighty Gazelle, Monty, Rocket, Sektor, and Silver Sonic
The nine return to camp, in higher spirits after snatching the win.
Megatron: After the slaughter we put on, we deserved the win. They were slain the last time. Next time, the humans won't know what hit them.
"We're one step closer to crushing the opposition." Megatron boasts
"Our lead was so big it wasn't even funny! Felt a little bad. Just a little." Monty admits, but Sektor chimes in. "There's no need to apologize for being better. If they didn't argue from within, they had a chance."
"Oh yeah, I heard that." The gator recalls. "The white girl was gettin' onto the fat kid about it. Boy must be gettin' it now!"
"Brown hair." Dark Samus adds. "Strength is not their strong suit, but their communication's even worse. How are they going to win anything if they can't work together?"
"It's not our problem now." Sektor responds. "I don't care for the other team anyways. They'll take care of themselves."
"It's looking like so." The darker Samus responds. "I can sense the dysfunction standing a few feet anyway. Can't imagine what it's like over there." Yes you can, you noted maniac.
While they reflect on the challenge, Cyrax keeps to himself about it. He waits for his confessional time to let all of his thoughts out.
Cyrax: It was a disaster, but that's just the first challenge. Sektor's been overconfident ever since I met him, his attitude doesn't bother me as much. Hearing the same thoughts from three others is grinding my gears. We are being way too confident about this. We've only just begun, there's still weeks to go.
Man
Day 3
Brandon, Chun-Li, Daisy, Drax, Nabbit, Porky Munch, Rick Grimes, Sackboy, and Ulala
The losers arrive at camp, and it doesn't take long for fingers to be pointed.
Porky points his at Drax. "You could have hurt the sack! Then who'd be the guilty one?"
"I'm not guilty, he is safe." Drax responds, gesturing towards the sack who just looks exhausted.
"Ok, and? You could have MISSED and we'd be in an even worse spot!"
"My aim is impeccable!"
Daisy joins the argument. "Yeah what he did was stupid, but YOU didn't even try! We all saw Munch!"
Drax scoffs. "I'm not stupid. I was experimenting."
"I KNOW, I'm trying to defend you…."
"Oh, then continue."
Porky cuts them off. "I always knew you hated me! For someone named Daisy, you act like a rotten flower."
"Oh yeah I hate you, let me get my list out." Uh oh. "You're rude, weak, and have nothing nice to say about anybody! Need I say more?"
"If I'm so rude, why are you talking back to me? Isn't that rude in itself?"
"YES, YES IT IS. It's no different from your ass!" Chun steps in front of her before it can escalate. "He's not worth it. Let's cool off."
"Cool off? I'm just heatin' up!"
Daisy: When someone p*sses me off, i'm GOING to call them out. I'm not putting on a fake smile and letting his behavior slide!
Drax scoffs at Porky. "You've just sealed your fate."
"You've sealed yours…"
Drax's grudge against Monty isn't his priority right now. He says so himself.
Drax: The gator can wait. This malicious porkchop will be the first to leave.
The three women of the tribe meet up at the water well.
"Porky's gotta go. I've got no patience left with this boy." Daisy pushing for his elimination to the surprise of nobody.
"Girl I don't blame you." Ulala agrees. "I'll put his name down too."
"I feel the same way about him. But let's consider the other possibility. Drax could have hurt Sackboy. I'm still down to write Porky but we have to stay on the lookout for him." Chun-Li suggests.
"Drax is the last guy on my mind." Ulala responds.
"Let's just bounce Porky as soon as we can." Daisy says, standing her ground. Both women are determined for a downfall, basically praying on one.
Chun gets a confession, and her viewpoints a little different.
Chun-Li: Porky seems like he's done for. Everyone is against him, but there are still risks to keeping Drax around. I don't know where he stands on this team, but I don't know if it's better than Munch.
She approaches Rick, who's readying a raft. The sheriff gets the basic rundown of what's on her mind.
"Drax is valuable to our team, but after Porky's gone, we can't let him do whatever he wants. Sackboy's not a big fan." Chun spills.
"He's not staying on a leash. He's more than a mindless beast, we can't just control him." Rick responds.
"If anyone will go rogue first, it just looks like it'll be him. Drax goes where Drax wants, and if he likes the machines plans better, he'll go with them." Chun says.
Rick's not looking to let him go anytime soon though. "As long as Monty's over there, we aren't losing him anytime soon. Yeah, he can be reckless but I'll let him know so we can fix it. You two are the strongest here. We need you both."
"I understand, but let's just keep an eye on him."
Chun's worrying a little about Drax given how he just hurled someone, but Rick's got a different point of view.
Rick: If we're fighting these machines over the next few weeks, we need all the firepower we can get. Drax is a must keep whether people think he's wild or not. The only reason I'd put his name down, is if he ever makes a fatal mistake. Right now, we're in the clear.
Elsewhere, Porky meets back up with his fake allies. Those two guys are not fans, but the kids sticking onto them like glue.
"I'm voting Drax, and if we want some peace on this tribe, you two should too." Porky suggests…scratch that, demands.
"I'll do whatever." Nabbit's really monotone.
"Doesn't bother me."
"Really? THAT easy?" Porky asks. "..ok. We just need two more, and I know exactly how to do damage control."
Brandon: We all know Drax adds more value. All this kid does is bury himself. Damage control's not gonna work, so that holes gettin' bigger.
That kid takes his own advice, and goes straight to Ulala, who exhales when she sees him. "Don't start anything." she says, which is a great sign that this is going to go well.
"I'm sorry."
"…ok?"
Oof. No go. Porky scrambles to find something as she just stands there waiting.
"You see, what I said was wrong and unacceptable. It was not the correct way to act, you are not stupid, you are one of the smartest, and most beautiful women in the world. Will you accept my apology?" he asks….
Ulala just facepalms. "….You gave me a Space Channel apology?….Really?"
"…"
"You're SO lying."
His cover is off. "So nothings good enough for people like you huh? I see how it is. You better hope I don't come back!"
"I already am."
The kid huffs, puffs, and leaves her behind. What a disaster of an apology.
Ulala: He's slackin', it's what this boy does! It's clear he doesn't like me, and I swear if he somehow lives to see another day, my vibe is dead.
Man's First Tribal Council
Night 3
The nine members of the tribe enter Tribal and spot nine stumps. There's a firepit, and this tribe knows what to do. They light their torches.
"Dip your torches into the fire. Fire represents your life in this game. When it's gone, so are you."
The tribe gets seated, and waits for Jeff to begin. A few seconds later, he kicks it all off.
"Alright. Welcome to your first Tribal Council. Before the night is over, one of you will be on your way back home." Jeff explains. "This has to be salt in the wound after the performance I saw earlier. Drax, does it sting as bad as I think?"
"It's disappointing. We were pathetic out there. When we got back, it went from bad to worse." Drax responds.
"Bad to worse HOW?" Jeff asks.
"Porky talked down to me."
Welp, here we go.
"You were an idiot, so I called you an idiot!" Porky exclaims.
"You say I'm the idiot, but you're the biggest slacker in this room. You aren't valuable to this team. Maybe the weakest individual I've ever met. After that remark, Rick winces. Drax's social game doesn't exist.
"I was taking a minute to strategize! You wouldn't know strategy cause you're just big and dumb like the rest." Porkys going IN.
"You're short and stupid."
"Oh nooo, I'm so offended."
"I don't care about your feelings."
Jeff doubles takes. "OK, ok, so what I'm seeing is obvious: Drax, he don't like you. Porky, he hates you."
"Thanks Captain Obvious." Porky snaps back.
"I'm just trying to be unbiased. If you got anger, take it out on the man you were just arguing with."
Drax chimes in. "Yes. Give me your best."
Daisy whispers to Chun. "What's wrong with them?"
"Just keep quiet."
Back to the instigators, and Porky huffs. "You won't get my best because clearly you aren't worth it."
Rick butts in. "We heard enough after the challenge, do we really need to hear it again?"
"What's the matter? Scared for your friends safety?" Porky asks. "I SAW you two talking, but guess what? Good luck keeping it secret!"
"It was just casual conversation."
"Casual…come on Richard you can't hide your strategies from me."
Rick tilts his head. "The only person who's talked strategy is YOU. The rest of us are getting to know each other, and you've been missing out. Stop approaching this like a robot, your strategy may have worked on the other team, but it's not flyin' here."
Jeff takes that note in. "Basically, Porky's made himself a pariah."
Ulala chimes in. "He did it to himself."
"Oh of course you have to—"
"NO, after what you said about me? That killed any chance you have at staying. Who wants to bring a lazy competitor who can't walk the walk to merge? Nobody." No mercy from the reporter.
Porky goes silent. Seems Ulala and Rick wiped his defenses. Then he gets an idea. An awful, awful idea…"Just saying, if that snitch Brandon kept his mouth shut, I'd be in a better spot."
The spotlight's on Brandon, who can't speak before Porky jumps him. "We had a deal to vote out Drax, but like the villian you are, you ratted me out! How can they trust you when you've already betrayed someone's trust?"
"That alliance wasn't real, what are you on about?!"
"Oh you're REAL trustworthy!"
"I sold ya down the river, yeah. I'm not staying loyal to someone who tries getting me to do all the strategizing." Brandon says in defense.
"You could have said no!"
"Knowing you, you woulda tried manipulatin' me!" Brandon snaps back, but Drax just stares into his soul. "You wanted me gone?"
"No, this arse over here pitched it, and I pretended to go with it. I wanted to keep you all along." Brandon says, but the Earthbound evil's on his throat. "Don't listen to him…"
"I won't listen to either of you." Drax admits.
"Christ…" Brandon mutters. "Stop ruining my game, and start playing yours."
"He has two minutes left, it'd be pointless."
"Silence you alien!"
Drax swings to him. "You can't silence me. You'd have to overpower me, which won't happy. I've cut through the bellies of the biggest beasts in this galaxy."
"He's not a real person.." Ulala mutters. Sackboy just facepalms. Nobody's seen the kind sack this disappointed ever.
Jeff steps back in. "Ok, seems we need a lot of work here. Chun, how can this tribe move forward?"
"This tribe can prosper if we stop bickering like children. This will only make our time here worse, so the best move now is to cut out a douchebag." She put that blunt. "That may involve upsetting someone, but we don't need to be down in numbers and morale."
"Which one?" Brandon whispers to himself.
"Drax is gonna wreak havoc if you keep him here." Porky just keeps going.
Daisy tosses her hat into the ring. "Is that ALL you have to say? We know Drax is wild, but he ACTUALLY works. All you do is sit back and do nothing."
"How insulting…"
"Name ONE thing you've done."
"I pushed the debris off the sled."
"Because I got onto you about it!" Daisy exclaims. "I'm not voting you out JUST cause I'm petty, you're also just unreliable. Brandon said so."
This is a next level cooking. Nobody's ever been dogged on as much as him through the series. "Oh yeah? Well my point stands. Drax is only going to cause problems, so it's better to get rid of him now."
Daisy rolls her eyes. "Whatever…"
The kid just crosses his arms. "We'll see how unreliable I really am. Continue, Jeffery, time is money."
The host glares. "Don't command people and maybe they'll do what you want. I'LL move on when I'm ready…so, everyone said what they want to say?" he asks.
Drax is the only one to speak up. "I know who I'm writing down."
"Me too."
"Then it is time to vote. Porky, you're up first."
The kid leaves his stump and heads to the booth.
Porky: You're a buffoon. You and these adults are so childish, they put emotions ahead of what's logical. If they're smart, they can just deal with my attitude. (Drax)
Drax: I get called delusional..but thanks for proving that you are the most delusional. (Porky)
Ulala: You're a bitter, grumpy little boy who needs to clean his act up. (Porky)
After the voting's finished, the tribe heads back to their stumps. There's no reason for them to move anymore. It's Jeff's move. "I'll tally the votes.." he says, headed to that booth to retrieve the voting urn.
All Porky and Drax can do is look on, both of their names definitely in there. I can only imagine the chaos with a stray vote.
Anyways, Jeff returns with that urn, and plants it on the podium. "If anyone has a hidden immunity idol or advantage they'd like to play, now would be the time to do so." Nobody rises from their stumps, so the host closes that window.
"I'll read the votes…"
He removes the lid and pulls out those nine pieces of parchment. Once he orders them, the heat kicks on. "First vote…"
.
.
.
"Porky."
.
.
.
"Drax."
.
.
.
"Porky."
.
.
.
"Porky."
.
.
.
"PORKY."
The kid sneers at this atrocity..is what he'd say if he was narrating. Fortunately, he's not.
.
.
.
"First person voted out of 'Survivor: Man vs Machine'…Porky Munch. That's five, it's enough. Bring me your torch."
The boy grabs his torch and doesn't even look at his former tribe. For once this Tribal, nobody's saying a word.
"Keeping the loose cannon sure is a great strategy. I can't wait to watch the downfall of you people."
I stand corrected.
He sets his torch down and pushes those glasses up. "No theatrics Jeffery, just get me out of this dump. I have better places to be anyways…"
Jeff raises his snuffer. "Then maybe you shouldn't have come here. Porky, The tribe has spoken."
SNUFF…
"Now get out."
Porky leaves the Tribal Council set. The remaining eight 'Man' tribe members look on, except for Jeff who's throwing out all that pent-up disrespect. Once he's gone, Jeff focused on the castaways still in the game.
"Maybe the next person you send home will actually play. Head back to camp, have a good night."
The eight left grab their torches and leave the Tribal set. It won't be the only time they stop by, but for now everyone's safe.
Voting:
Porky Munch— Drax, Rick Grimes, Chun-Li, Ulala, Daisy, Brandon, Nabbit, and Sackboy
Drax the Destroyer— Porky Munch
Confessional Count:
6– Chun-Li, Rick Grimes
5– Daisy, Ulala
4– Megatron, Mighty Gazelle, Rocket Raccoon, Sektor, Drax the Destroyer, Brandon, Silver Sonic
3– Clank, Dark Samus, Montgomery Gator, Cyrax
2– Nabbit
1– Sackboy
Eliminated:
3– Porky Munch
Wow, Porky's so bitter he doesn't even give any final words. The peak of salt. Safe to say that he's never coming back after his, honestly, dumpster-fire of a run. He's another example of how not to play the game. If Drax didn't have strength on his side, then it may have been less obvious, but the kid did himself no favors at all. For once, tribe morale came first. Will the side of Man recover? Who knows.
As for the machines, Cyrax is already getting a little irritated with Megatron's boasting. He's not the only one. Megatron definitely seems like he'll be polarizing to his tribe. He's got strength on his side but his personality isn't doing his social game any favors at all. Speaking of, Drax still remembers his interaction with Monty. That's sure to be a battle of abrasive ness if they ever get to interact again.
I'm surprised I got all four chapters out this quickly, but I've got more free-time than I think. So, what do you think about the characters so far? Any boot predictions? Feel free to leave a review! Ticket out, Episode 2's three chapters are being developed as we speak!
