Ally:

Disclaimer: I don't own Austin & Ally or the cover of Want U Back by Boyce Avenue & Hannah Trigwell.

It's been a year since they split. An entire year of agony and hidden feelings. From what others would see they were still the music making, easy going, loving besties as everyone knew them as.

But nobody knew the true depths of their relationship even if it had only been short lived.

When they had first got together they had just finished preforming "You Can Come To Me" for Ally's mom.

Some would say it was the adrenaline rush, others would say it was just hormones. But they knew better, they knew it was real.

Maybe they went to fast, maybe the should have waited.

Maybe they shouldn't have given up so quickly.

Twelve days. They lasted twelve days before they split.

It was probably just the busyness of her newfound career, maybe it was them transitioning into their sophomore year.

Or they just didn't try.

They would fight over the pettiest things. Once she made him cry by yelling at him over the remote, he made her angry by screaming at her over father's rigid work schedule.

They always resolved the problem shortly but the tension was always there.

They had what two, three? Good moments while dating. Years later others would say it was the Twelve Days Of The Beginning Of Auslly, others (specifically them) would say it was the beginning and the end.

Their parents had been the ones to suggest their split a few days before the official break up, they had heard their children arguing, fight after fight. Lester and Mike even had to drag them away from each, otherwise she would have slapped him and he would have cried like a girl.

Once they did part ways their families did their best to console their broken kids but it wasn't much use, no one knew the extent of this pain.

Trish and Dez tried helping, they would take them on separate froyo dates, go shopping, see a new Zaliens movie, things to take their mind off their impending single status.

And as much as their efforts were appreciated neither could take their mind off their other half.

It was heartbreaking for everyone too see, but they only saw the surface level. Years later she would laugh after going on old fan accounts and chats, the fans understood it better than anyone close to them.

Eventually they moved on, eventually they were able to stand being in the same room, eventually they could even work together again.

And so they "moved" on, and everything was normal, or as normal as it could be again.

Things progressed slowly over the next few months, there were a few incidents involving guys with glue guns and girls with flawless skin.

The real kicker was when Mr. Country SuperStar appeared. That was a fun one. All hot and talented with cute accent, who wouldn't love him? Unfortunately for Austin she wasn't as immune to his charms.

And so for Austin "Me and You" turned into "You and Him" and instead of "Auslly" the fans shipped "Gally"

He felt his heart shatter when he saw her up there singing with him. He saw that special glimmer in her eyes, something she had reserved only for him.

It hurt a thousand times worse when he was just about to ask her to be his girlfriend right after the show, real punch to the gut.

Trish, knowing everything, tried to help him, even asked Dez to set him up with Piper. And so he did, but we all know what happened after that.

And now both of them had moved on, they had new partners, and their songs were still great. So what could go wrong?

Weeks passed by, they would skip songwriting sessions to hang out with girl/boyfriends, avoid texting each other in the middle of the night, even tried limiting contact in school.

And finally he cracked, he couldn't live another moment dating Piper knowing he was fully in love with Ally. And so they split up, only this time was much easier on his heart.

When she fell asleep next to Gavin, she dreamed of Austin. When he serenaded her with his country songs about trucks and Barneby, she imagined it was Austin. When they ate ice cream together and some dripped on his pants, all she could think of was Austin's pants sunday.

Needless to say, she was still in love with Austin.

And after a long discussion, Gally mutually broke up.

Neither knew about each others breakups, they hadn't confided to anyone, not even Trish and Dez.

Fights, arguments, tiffs, all words to describe a disagreement (usually loud and involved screaming).

This was a volcanic rupture of vocal cords.

Screams, shouts, curses, crude names, tears, a textbook detention of a big fight.

It had started at ten in the morning, it was five in the evening. Seven hours. Seven full hours of screaming and crying and cursing so much they had run out of bad words.

And all over a stupid song.

Austin and Ally were trying to write a new song as usual, but neither knew about the other's recent break up.

Ally had suggested a song about heartbreak since all their songs were about love or upbeat party songs.

Austin didn't want to think about a breakup song, he just wanted to forget about his breakup with Piper and just write a party song.

"What about "It's been a month now, don't really know how to cope, still wear your sweatshirt, still read those letters you wrote" ,she had sung to him.

Austin immediately objected, he didn't want to think about any of his breakups, and most certainly not write a song about them.

Ally felt heartbroken all over again hearing him say those words why he didn't like the song, or reasons they shouldn't be writing it.

If only he knew she had written it about him months ago.

She started yelling at him, telling him nothing she ever does is good enough for him and she clearly wasn't worth any of him.

He started screaming back, and in the heat of the moment, stupidly agreed with her.

That really broke her, she started saying everything she had been holding in since their breakup over a year ago. She released every violent, angry, and sad thought she had collected over the months.

And he retaliated back, revealing every pent up thought he had.

The two went at it for hours, neither of them showing any signs of backing down.

Until she kicked him out of the store. She told him to leave or she would call the cops, and in this moment he decided to use the one brain cell he had remaining and left. He knew despite her tiny size she was true to her word and would call the cops on him.

And the two spent their nights alone, crying themselves to sleep as they regretted every word they had said

Today Austin was preforming for a Christmas charity event, Trish had scheduled the event months ago and being the wonderful manager she is only decided to tell everyone forty-eight hours before the concert.

Austin and Ally were obviously trying to avoid each other after their... argument yesterday, and by some miracle they did.

Austin was currently on stage, he has preformed the classics such as "Double Take" and "A Billion Hits" or one of their personal favorites "Not A Love Song", which everyone knew really was a love song and really hard for him to not cry while singing it.

He has finished his set list until Dez ran onto the stage, he whispered something in Austin's ear and while he was confused for a moment he went along with it and started strumming a new chord.

"What is he doing?" Ally asked Trish behind the curtain. They had been watching the whole show from that spot and she had only just noticed the microphone standing right in front of her.

"Hey, I was done playing games

Knew I needed to upgrade

So I went and walked away, way, way"

In that moment Ally had been hit with realization. She knew this song. After she and Austin had first met and were adjusting to being partners they often listened to and played other peoples music and this had been one of their favorite songs.

She remembered the moment, they were at the mall sitting at the food court discussing music and she had mentioned she loved the cover of "Want U Back" by Boyce Avenue and Hannah Trigwell.

She remembered how his eyes lit up and his boyish smile appeared on his perfect lips when she mentioned that. She remembers him telling her that was also one of his favorite covers. And so they played it regularly when they were having trouble writing a song, only that ceased after the breakup.

"Now, You see I've been hanging out

With another girl in town

At least she dosen't bring me down, down, down"

While he was singing that verse she hadn't noticed Trish placing the unused microphone Into her hand until she was shoved on stage and made awkward eye contact with Austin.

"Remember all the things you and I did first?

And now you're doing them with her

Remember all the things you and I did first?

You got me, got me like this

And now you're taking her to every restaurant

And everywhere we went come on!

And now you're taking her to every restaurant

You got me, got me like this

Boy you can say anything you want

It don't mean a thing, no one else can have you

I want you back

Yeah I want you back"

She stepped closer to him, wrapping her hands around the base of his neck.

He stood up meeting her eyes, saying everything while saying nothing as he sung the next verse.

"I broke it off thinking you'd be fine

But now I feel sick looking at you crying

I want us back

Yeah I want us back"

They moved around the stage, slow dancing as they sung the song. The crowd was going wild as the two sung.

"Please, rid me of the jealousy

You know you belong wit me

And I'm gonna make you, see, see, see"

He shook his head at her before pulling away and walking over to the other side of the stage, he glared at her before crouching down and holding the fans hands.

"You clearly didn't think this through

'Cause I had everything for you

And now I don't know what to do"

She angrily walked towards him, microphone still in hand as she pointed a finger at his chest.

"Remember all things that you and I did first?

And now you're doing them with her

Remember all the things that you and I did first?"

He joined in with her, harmonizing their voices.

"You got me, got me like this"

"You got me, got me like this"

"And now you're taking her to every restaurant

You got me, got me like this

Boy you can say anything you want

It don't mean a thing, no one else can have you

I want you back

Yeah I want you back"

She flipped her hair back before walking the other side of the stage, crouching down to the fans.

Confused and angry he stepped towards her, glaring as he sung his verse.

"I broke it off thinking you'd be fine

But now I feel sick looking at you crying

I want us back

Yeah I want us back

Ohhh, I thought that you'd be fine

When I kissed you goodbye"

He stared directly at her as he sung, a look one could only describe as heartbreak and betrayal shone through his eyes.

He walked over to the other side of the stage, guilty she followed.

"Ohhh, you might be with her

But I know we can work

Boy you can say anything you want

It don't mean a thing no one else can have you

I want you back

Yeah I want you back"

She walked away from where he was standing, she sat down on the edge of the stage trying to hold back tears.

He rushed towards her, sitting down right next to her before he began the next verse.

"I broke it off thinking you'd be fine

But now I feel sick looking at you crying"

They stared so intensely at each other the fans thought they were about to erupt they were so full of emotion.

"I want us back

Yeah I want us back"

"Ohhh, I thought that you'd be fine

When I kissed you goodbye"

"Ohhh, you might be with her

But I know we can work"

"Ally I'm sorry, we shouldn't have ended things." He stammered after they finished the song.

"Austin I'm sorry, but we can't do this you're with Piper."

"No I'm not, Ally we broke up. The only thing standing in the way is 'Gally'" He said the word with such disdain the fans were giggling from his obvious jealousy.

"Austin...we broke up." She responded.

His jaw dropped before breaking out into that boyish smile she loved so dearly. He then pulled her right into his arms as he kissed her.

They smiled into the kiss, all the tension and anger of that year disappeared, gone for ever, and they'll never want it back.

Obviously they got back together after the performance, much to Trish, Dez, and the fans relief.

After that concert they went to couples therapy, where they were able to figure out what went wrong the first time and avoid it.

Years later they got married, having a beautiful wedding and a couple cute kids.

Every year they would perform that same song on the same day, and each year you could tell they were even more in love with than the last.

Some would call it a Christmas miracle, others would say it was luck, some would even say magic.

But they knew it was destiny, because either way everyone knew they were meant to be.

So every year, more in love than the last, they would sing this song, and every year they would always "want u back".
