Chapter 1: The Most Famous Reindeer of All:

Rudolph's POV:

Okay, so you know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen, Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen, right? Well, I'm sure there's another reindeer you're probably familiar with. It's me. I'm Rudolph! It all started at the North Pole. Where else? These are my parents, Rocky and Mitzi. And there's me. I was just born. Look at me, just a regular reindeer... except for one little thing. I had a shiny red nose and if you ever saw it, you might even say it glows.

"Look at his nose," says Mom.

"Add some silly clothes on him and he could be a clown," says Dad.

My parents tried to act like everything was normal.

Rocky: Look at my little guy
Isn't he a cutie?
This bouncing baby buck of mine
And his name is Rudy

He's quite a strapping reindeer
And it's very plain, dear
He has your grace and style
But he has his daddy's smile

Mitzi: Can't wait 'til he's old enough
To play in reindeer games
Then one day he'll pull the sleigh
With Santa at the reins

Chorus: Oh, but what about, what about
What about his gleaming nose?
Mitzi: It has a healthy shine
Rocky: Aha, he absolutely glows

Chorus: What about, what about
What about his beaming nose?

Rocky: Look at my little guy
With his angelic grin
Mitzi: So cuddly and snuggly
He's sharper than a pin

Rocky: He's such a special reindeer
Mitzi: Here's a candy cane, dear
Rocky: Don't you want to pinch his cheek?
Mitzi: He's exquisitely unique

Rocky: Our deer is so endearing
But one thing that I'm fearing
When we start to school him
The kids may ridicule him

Mitzi: Perhaps they'll ignore it
Maybe learn to adore it
He has that certain spark
I bet that nose glows in the dark

Chorus: Put a cover on it
Wear a lampshade upon it
Forgive us for finding
Rudy's nose is simply blinding

Oh, then what about, what about
What about his gleaming nose?
Rocky: It is a little pink
Mitzi: He'll grow out of it, I think

Chorus: What about, what about
What about when Rudolph grows?
Will it grow any dimmer?
Or will it start to shimmer?

What about his gleaming, ever beaming
Neon shining nose?

Yes, what about

Rudolph's shiny nose?

So... I didn't exactly make a lot of friends, huhh? Then, Blitzen, Vixen, and Comet came.

"I got here first," says Comet.

"It's not a race," says Blitzen.

"True," says Comet, "but I'm the fastest!"

"We are a team," says Blitzen, "we need to take this seriously! We have..."

"Blitzen, we pull Santa's sleigh," says Vixen, "which is a big deal because it brings joy to those darling children, but it's not like we're a task force."

"We still need to train hard," says Blitzen, "and... what is that light in my eye?"

"Sorry Blitzen," says Dad, "my son... kind of has a condition."

Blitzen, Vixen, and Comet then take a good look at me.

"Oh... it's not contagious, is it," asks Vixen.

"I got this," says Blitzen, "put something over that nose because it's unnatural. Come on, fellow flying reindeer, let's move!"

Blitzen, Vixen, and Comet then fly off. "Speed," says Comet.

"Don't make me hurt you," says Blitzen.
