Chapter 1: Start Of A New Adventure! Welcome To Johto!
A few weeks after he won the Kanto Victory Road Tourney, Michael had spent time at home with his family and girlfriends. Sadly, one of his girlfriends, Dragon-Type Gym Leader Clair from Blackthorn City in Johto, was called away for League business, so she couldn't relax with the rest of them. Meanwhile, tomorrow was the day that those of his friends would head out to Johto and go to the cities that had a gym of their specific type. Rainbow, Pinkie, and Blake would join Mumei, Ame, and Calli in their respective hometowns of Violet City, Goldenrod City, and Ecruteak City. As for the others, Fluttershy and Fauna were heading for Azalea Town, Kiara and Applejack would be in Cianwood Town. Ruby, Gura, and Ina would be in Olivine City, with Gura and Ina then heading out to surf around the Whirl Islands and do some catch and release fishing. Weiss would be in Mahogany Town. And Yang would join Clair in Blackthorn City. Irys admitted that she would join Blake and Calli, while Bae and Sana would do the same with Ame and Pinkie. As for Kronii, she, Twilight, and Sabrina would be with Michael from the very beginning of the journey at New Bark Town. As for today, Michael was relaxing, but also making sure he had everything ready for him when he headed to New Bark Town. He came into the kitchen and joined his parents for breakfast.
Michael - "Morning mom, dad."
Tracie - "Morning sweetheart. Bet you must be excited for going to Johto soon."
Michael - "Oh no questions I am."
John - "Have you decided which Pokémon besides the starters you're taking with you?"
Michael - "Just Ninetales, Thievul, and Riagon."
Tracie - "You sure just those three?"
Michael - "According to Akira, she told me that due to my 'special case', I'm allowed to carry up to 50 Pokémon on me at a time, along with having up to 5 pre-made teams of up to 6 Pokémon for all gym and league battles. For every gym badge I win, I can carry an additional Pokémon for the rest of that trip throughout the region I'm currently in. Then if I win a league, like I did with winning the Kanto Victory Road Tourney, I gain a permanent increase of 10 to the number of I can carry on me, along with making an additional pre-made team of 6. This is the same for every other league I win."
John - "So to make it simple, you can currently carry 60 Pokémon due to winning the Kanto Victory Road Tourney, along with making up to 6 pre-made teams. Every badge you win gives you a temporary additional spot, meaning you can carry 68 upon arriving at the Indigo Plateau for the Silver Conference. Then if you win both Indigo AND Silver Conferences, you go up to carrying 70 Pokémon and making 7 pre-made teams. Is that all, correct?"
Michael - "Yes. The starters alone take up 21 roster spots. Meaning I had 29 spots, or 37 upon reaching the Indigo Plateau for the Indigo Conference, open. Of those 37 spots, only 22 were taken. This time, it's 24 of 60 taken."
Tracie - "Well at least you have more breathing room to carry some more team members. 43 of 58 sounds like it's cutting it close there."
Michael - "Tell me about it. But this time it'll be out of 68 spots."
Soon the trio had breakfast, then Michael went about his chores for the next two days. Finally, it was time for him, Twilight, Sabrina, and Kronii to depart for Johto. The four of them, along with John and Tracie, rode the train down to the harbor. There Michael and the girls boarded the passenger ship bound for Johto. While on the ship Michael and the girls let out their Pokémon and relaxed during the trip. They finally arrived at New Bark Town after 3 days at sea. After getting off the ship, they were greeted by one of Professor Elm's assistants and escorted to his lab. They were then surprised to find someone they knew there.
Michael/Twilight/Sabrina/Kronii - "Clair?!"
Clair - "Oh hey guys."
Twilight - "I thought you were in Blackthorn City showing Yang around."
Clair - "I was. But then grandfather decided to let Yang run the gym while I travel with you guys."
Michael - "Well at least Yang gets some experience as a gym leader."
Sabrina - "True."
? - "Ah. There you all are."
A man in a lab coat walked out from behind the back and towards the party.
Michael - "Ah good to see you Professor Elm."
Professor Elm - "Same to you Michael. Glad to see you enjoyed your break after winning the Kanto Victory Road Tourney. Congrats on that by the way."
Michael - "Thank you Professor."
Suddenly Professor Elm's PokéGear rang.
Professor Elm - "Excuse me for a sec."
Professor Elm moved off to the side to take the call.
Sabrina - "So how've you been Clair?"
Clair - "I've been good. Pretty lonely without you guys around."
Kronii - "Aw. We missed you too."
Professor Elm then walked back over to the group, his head hung a bit.
Twilight - "Something wrong Professor Elm?"
Professor Elm - "Oh sorry Twilight. I just got a call from my friend Mr. Pokémon."
Michael - "He's the one person that truly loves everything Pokémon related, right?"
Professor Elm - "That's right Michael. He has a package for me, but I just can't find the free time to go get it."
Clair - "We can do that for you Professor. Besides this little trip should help Michael get a head start on the Johto section of his PokéDex."
Professor Elm - "That's a great idea Clair. You guys better get going then."
Michael - "Right! Let's go ladies!"
? - "Hold it!"
Everyone stopped at hearing the voice.
Twilight - "Who's there?"
The entire room flashed brightly, then the light disappeared to reveal a new Pokémon in the center of the room.
Michael - "Lady Celebi!"
Celebi - "Hello Michael."
Sabrina - "That was quick."
Celebi - "I wanted to show up now instead of later. Save you the hassle of waiting for me."
Michael - "Thank you for that then my dear."
Michael pulled out an Ultra Ball, then tapped Celebi with it. The Ultra Ball sucked Celebi into it, shaking three times in Michael's hand before clicking.
Michael - "Alright! I caught Lady Celebi!"
Professor Elm - "Congrats Michael."
Michael - "Thanks Professor. Are there any other Pokémon around town that I can catch?"
Professor Elm - "Follow me."
Professor Elm led the party out of his lab and over to one of the trees. Michael quickly understood and brought out Feraligatr.
Michael - "Can you strike this tree for me Feraligatr?"
Feraligatr - "Sure."
Feraligatr walked over and struck the tree nearest to Professor Elm. Five Pokémon fell out of the tree due to the strike from Feraligatr. Those Pokémon were: Exeggcute, Hoothoot, Ladyba, Spinarak, and Pineco. Michael then pulled out Ultra Balls and caught them all except for Exeggcute since he already caught one in Kanto. Michael looked over to see a Chinchou by the tree and caught her too. He pulled out the PC Transporter and sent all but Spinarak home.
Twilight - "Why are you keeping Spinarak?"
Michael - "I'll explain on the way to Mr. Pokémon's house."
Michael then brought out Typhlosion and Meganium.
Michael - "Listen up. I want you three to stay here for the time being and assist Professor Elm with his lab work. Now come on ladies. Let's go get that package for Professor Elm."
Professor Elm - "Safe travels to you all."
The party then quickly set off for Mr. Pokémon's home, which was on Route 30. While walking along Route 29, Michael caught a Sentret. Then while relaxing for a bit in Cherrygrove City, Michael caught a Johtoian Corsola. Soon they arrived at Route 30. While walking along the Route, they came across a seemingly hidden forest path.
Twilight - "This must be the path to Mr. Pokémon's house."
Clair - "Most likely."
The party walked down the path. They then came to the end of it after walking a good bit and found what looked like a secluded shack. Michael walked up to the door and gently knocked on it.
? - "Who's there?"
Michael - "Mr. Pokémon? My name is Michael Masi. My friends and I offered to come get the package you have for Professor Elm."
Nothing but silence at first. Then the sounds of the door unlocking were heard. The door opened to reveal an elderly man in a suit.
Mr. Pokémon - "Oh I do apologize for not having my door open for you sooner."
Twilight - "That's quite alright good sir. No need to apologize."
Mr. Pokémon - "Anyway. Come inside and make yourselves at home while I get the package."
Michael and the girls walked into Mr. Pokémon's home. They then either sat or stood around the dining table as Mr. Pokémon walked back towards his makeshift lab to get the package. He then walked back out with the package in hand and placed it on the dining table in front of Michael.
Sabrina - "A Pokémon egg?"
Mr. Pokémon - "That's correct my dear Sabrina. I asked Professor Elm to take care of this Pokémon egg for me. But something tells me he'll have one of you do it for him."
Michael stood up and carefully took the egg alongside its incubation chamber.
Michael - "I'll take the egg then if Professor Elm asks."
Mr. Pokémon - "Thank you Michael. This means a lot to me."
Michael - "Not at all Mr. Pokémon. And I'll be sure to have Professor Elm inform you when the egg hatches."
Mr. Pokémon - "Thank you once again."
Soon the party left Mr. Pokémon with the new egg in tow. They were quickly back at Professor Elm's lab.
Clair - "We're back Professor Elm."
Professor Elm - "Ah welcome back everyone. So where's the package for me?"
Michael - "Well..."
Michael brought out the Pokémon egg and quickly explained to Professor Elm the conversation with Mr. Pokémon.
Professor Elm - "Well he's not wrong. Besides, leaving the egg with a group of traveling trainers is way better for it than being stuck here in the lab all day. So then who's taking the egg?"
Michael - "I am. I took care of between 25-30 Pokémon during our trip through Kanto. Then I can take care of a Pokémon egg as well."
Professor Elm - "Very well then. You all take care on your journey across Johto. I'll see you after Michael wins the Zephyr Badge."
Michael - "Oh. And make sure to tell Mr. Pokémon what hatches from the egg when I inform you."
Professor Elm - "I will."
Soon the party was on its way again. This time their destination was Violet City, where Michael would have his first Johto Gym Battle. Along the way Spinarak evolved into Ariados due to slowly getting into training with the others.
Kronii - "So Michael. You were gonna explain to us about why you kept Ariados."
Michael - "Oh right. Thanks for reminding me. Well before we left Pokémon Island, I made a list of all the premade teams I want to make. Ariados is the first member of my All-Bug team."
Twilight - "So then you have a team thought up for the rest of the types?"
Michael - "Yes. As well as a team for each of the starter types. Along with an all-fossil team, all-pet team, all legendary team, and personal favorites team."
Sabrina - "Wow that's quite a list."
Michael - "I know right. It's gonna be so much fun filling the teams out."
There weren't any new catches on Route 31. But a small cave was discovered. There Michael caught a Dunsparce. Then the party finally arrived at their first major destination.
Michael - "Here we are girls. Welcome to Violet City."
