AN: Cheating is unethical, yet my heart finds pleasure in reading and writing Naruto stories about it.

Miss Hinata

Summary: Hinata's life had become a custom routine until Naruto joined her company four months ago. Somewhere in month three, Sakura assigns Naruto to be her work husband. That wouldn't be a problem if Hinata wasn't thirty-five and already married. However, Naruto knows this, everyone else knows she's married, so why did he kiss her?

Contains cheating.

"… then he said he wanted to be more than friends. That really ruined my mood, so I stopped seeing him. I thought we agreed to be friends with benefits, nothing more."

Soft giggles erupted in the break room, but the pink hair woman could not find any humor in the story she'd told.

"What's so funny? I'm trying to fuck, but he wants to be in a relationship."

"Hey! Hey! How can you fix your mouth to curse with Hinata being present? Have some respect for your elders, forehead."

Forehead, otherwise known as Sakura Haruno scoffed at the insult her co-worker Ino said. "Elders? How can you insult Hinata like that? She looks no older than twenty." Folding her arms, she stared sharply at Ino.

"Yeah, but still!" Ino cried. "I'm sorry about that Hinata."

"You know Hinata, it's hard to tell you're going to hit forty in the next five years. Are you bathing in the blood of young girls? I would kill for your body and skin." Sakura said, allowing her green eyes to roam the young woman's curvy frame. "You're really sexy. What's your secret?"

The quiet woman, the office docile, blushed profusely by her younger co-worker's comment. It wouldn't be the first time someone complimented her frame, but it was still enough to cause her to turn red in the face. "There's no secret," She spoke in her usual soft tone.

"How long does it usually take to find a young virgin girl to murder?" Sakura joked.

Hinata placed her hand on her pouty lips to hold in her giggles. "That's every full moon."

"Please don't entertain her, Hinata," Ino said, shaking her head.

Sakura plopped herself on the chair and then stared straight into Hinata's lavender eyes. "Your husband is lucky Hinata. I know he loves to show you off. Would you be honest with me if I asked if you had any plastic surgery? Your nose is so small and cute," Sakura said, sighing.

"Sakura!" Ino screeched. "You're so rude! You just don't ask someone if they had plastic surgery." She scolded the girl who flipped her off.

Instead of being upset, Hinata smiled. She wouldn't be the first person to ask if she had plastic surgery. It wasn't rare, but anyone would raise suspicion to see a fit thirty-five-year-old look the way she did. Unlike her older co-workers, she took pride in her appearance and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. That meant eating a healthy portion-sized breakfast, getting just the right amount of sunlight, meditation, and working out. It took a while before she found the right routine, but now she had a body anyone would kill for and a face that would make the gods jealous.

"If you don't have any secrets, what's your routine?"

Routine? Her routine consisted of the same thing every day, never changing until...

"Fuck. Lunch is over," Sakura sighed once her phone's alarm rang. "Text me your skin care, Hinata."

Snapping out of her thoughts, Hinata looked up to see Ino and Sakura walking out of the breakroom. She still had fifteen minutes left before her lunch ended. There was still some salad left in her bowl, but now she had lost her appetite by Sakura's sudden question. Routine? Hearing that made her feel uneasy. Even at thirty-five her routine never changed. Her life was just a reminder her days would be the same.

"Miss. Hinata,~" The tip of her ears turned a nice shade of red when his warm breath touched her delicate skin. "Gee, Miss. Hinata! Why didn't you tell me you were going to lunch so early? I would have joined you earlier."

The chair scraped against the tile floor and the table shook slightly when the young man placed his food on top of it.

"You looked very busy, Naruto. I didn't want to disturb you." Hinata answered.

"Busy? I'm never busy for you and you know that. I would have dropped everything to have lunch with the famous Hinata Inuzuka."

Hearing him say such a thing made her cheeks turn red. If there was anyone that made Hinata blush besides her husband, it was this kid, Naruto Uzumaki. Young, athletic, handsome, twenty-two-year-old Naruto.

"I'll keep that in mind." Hinata smiled warmly. "What's for lunch today?" She asked, looking down at his bowl of ramen.

"Same as usual," He grinned. "Ramen, and soda." He said, patting the top of the orange soda bottle.

Seeing that made Hinata unintentionally bite down on her lip. "Did you drink any water today?" She finally asked, gazing at him before nibbling on some lettuce.

"Maybe," He smiled cheekily. "Do you want some?" He held the chopstick in front of her, and the ramen noodle dangled.

"Not today," she said, packing her bag. It would be a lie if she said she didn't want to eat some of that delicious ramen. Ramen was one of her comfort foods and they had a love-hate relationship when she was young. Eating an excessive amount of ramen contributed to her weight gain in her early teens. Countless packets were seen in the trash and table. However, it wasn't the ramen that stopped her from eating it, but the chopstick that had entered this young man's mouth before he offered her some.

Naruto pushed out his lips. "You never eat anything I offer, Miss. Hinata. I'm not dirty. I brush my teeth every morning and night."

"Are you lying, Naruto? Didn't you offer me a cinnamon roll yesterday and I ate it so graciously?"

"Okay, so you got me," He grinned. "Cinnamon rolls are your addiction, Miss. Hinata just like ramen is mine."

"You just be careful eating all that ramen. Didn't you have some for breakfast today?" Hinata scolded him.

He gasped playfully. "Are you stalking me?" Her scold remained. "Ok, okay, you're starting to sound like my mother," Naruto said, teasingly.

"I'm only thirteen years older than you," Hinata grimaced. "I'm old enough to be your sister."

"You're right," He laughed. "Are you leaving so soon? Can't you wait for me?"

"Your lunch just started. Take your time and enjoy it," Hinata said, pushing herself off the chair. "You behave," she told him, pinching his cheek.

When Naruto first joined the company four months ago, she had a hard time adjusting herself to him. Unlike her who was soft-spoken, attentive, and careful Naruto was the complete opposite. Loud, charismatic, and somewhat of a klutz were many things to describe him. She thought she would never get along with him because he acted like some of the other young adults there. Childish and immature.

Well, he could still be childish and immature, but when he was placed under her watch in month two, they developed a close bond although it took some time for Hinata to become cozy with him. He was an only child, loved ramen with a passion, and liked to go to parties, drink, and play video games, but he also liked to learn, motivate others, and be praised for doing a good job. At first, she thought it was him being snobby, but she quickly learned that he liked being praised for the simple things because it boosted his morale and made him feel like he was doing something right. After spending a few years in college on and off, he discovered it was not for him, so his parents gave him an option, either get a job or continue school. So, here he was four months in.

Of course, he got along with the other young adults, and they had their clique with their lingos and made-up words, but Hinata was quite surprised they were respectful to her, unlike her other co-workers. Maybe because they thought she was one of them, but even after learning about her age they still treated her all the same, adding her into their little dramas and asking for dating advice.

Sakura seemed to like her the most because she always latched onto her, showering her with compliments. She had even confided that she looked up to her as an older sister. The young girl was all over the place, and Hinata knew she suffered from low self-esteem. She wondered why because Sakura was such an attractive girl. Nice tall legs, a slender frame, and beautiful long pink hair that complimented her green eyes. She was a beautiful youthful person and she wished she could see it instead of bringing herself down and constantly talking about getting plastic surgery.

They looked up to Hinata as this all-knowing adult, but she felt she was far from it.

At nineteen, Hinata married her now husband, Kiba Inuzuka, twenty-three at the time. They had a nice life for such a young couple. She graduated with her bachelor's degree in business, but that didn't excite her as much, so she found herself at Raku as a data analyst who also trained other individuals without a degree in data entry.

Kiba, however, was successful in his field and traveled out of the country to other corporations. Their life was comfortable, rich, and stress-free and Hinata didn't have to work if she didn't want to. However, she felt it would have been easier to stay at her job instead of being home seeing she had no one there to conversate with. At twenty-one, Hinata had a pregnancy scare which prompted Kiba to have a vasectomy after the doctors denied Hinata a hysterectomy. One of the things that drew them closer was the mere fact that they did not want to have any children. Children were a hassle, and life seemed to be better without someone to nag them.

Then she turned twenty-two, Hinata had developed her routine, and ever since it had been none changing. She had attempted to travel with Kiba to different countries, but she had a panic attack on the plane, and ever since she never joined him.

When Kiba did reach home, they didn't do anything much except go to his work parties, read his books, or sometimes watch foreign movies he found interesting. He wasn't a bad husband, but at times she felt starved from the lack of attention from him.

"Are you going to show me that formula in an excel spreadsheet?" Naruto asked, throwing his ramen bowl in the trash bin.

"Naruto, you weren't finished with that," Hinata said, eyeing the contents in the garbage. "Why did you waste your food?"

"Because you were leaving me." Naruto pouted. "Are you going to the company's dinner tonight?"

"I don't know," Hinata mumbled.

"I'll be there," Naruto said, almost as to convince her to attend. "Please," He begged, clasping his hands together. "Please, please. I need someone to keep me in line, Miss. Hinata."

Hinata didn't enjoy going to such events, but ever since Naruto came along, she found herself attending more of the company's events.

"Fine, but you better not drink until you black out again," Hinata said, a flashback playing in her mind from the last event. "Between you and Sakura, I don't know who's worse."

Naruto's cheeks turned extremely red when Hinata mentioned that. "I promise I won't drink as much; besides I'm going to be your driver."

"I think not," Hinata said, continuing her walk down the halls of the company. "If you're going to drive, then no drinking."

"Not even one drink?" Naruto questioned, shocked. "B-but,"

"I'll just drive myself, but make sure you get a k-uber an—"

Small goose bumps spread throughout her pale skin when Naruto took her by her arm, twirling her around. "I won't drink if it means I can take you there and home. I promise." There was a serious look in his sharp blue eyes which made Hinata's knees buckle.

"I-if you say so," She stuttered. "Enjoy your lunch," Hinata said, swiftly marching away.

In the third month of Naruto working there, Hinata discovered a new word. Work husband. Sakura had taught her that word. Apparently, a work husband/ spouse is a co-worker who you share a special connection with similar to your significant other minus the intimacy. Sakura had called Naruto her work husband because of their close bond and how he spent most of his time around Hinata being her moral support.

Well, it was true their bond was a lot closer compared to any other coworker, and they did spend more time together, but she couldn't help but laugh. It was funny how young kids could coin up a word with a meaning. A month ago, it was funny, but now she was slowly believing Sakura.

Hinata's life was okay, and she had a nice marriage, yet she could not deny that Naruto made her feel some type of way. His compliments always made her feel so good, and the way he smiled at her made her stomach feel warm and fuzzy. He was constantly making her feel like a young schoolgirl who had found her first crush. She felt terrible feeling this way, so she did her best to put some distance between them. Hinata wasn't afraid she would do something, and Naruto knew she was married. He had met Kiba a few times, but the thoughts she had of him were unethical for a married woman. But no matter how much she tried to distance herself, Naruto always found a way to pull her in. He was messing with her routine.

The rowdy crowd exploded into laughter as they lifted their mugs in the air, hitting them before gulping down the beer as if it was their last night. Many of the employees chattered amongst one another, some belligerent to the point their heads swayed left and right before hitting the table. It was Friday night. That meant no work tomorrow, and the night was young.

Sakura stared suspiciously at Naruto, her face was completely red. Squinting her eyes, she pointed her index finger at Naruto, "W-why you 'een drinking? You dying?"

"I've been banned from drinking tonight," Naruto smiled, taking a sip of water as he gave Hinata the side eye.

"It's important to listen to your work wife," Ino said, laughing. "Right, Hinata," she said, nudging the poor girl.

"I told him to catch a k-uber," Hinata responded. "Drink responsibly. That includes no driving."

"Yes ma'am," Ino laughed before tilting her head back to swallow the sake.

"I can be responsible." His eyes glistened, staring at Hinata.

Their heads turned when there was a loud "smack" on the table. Sakura was not moving at all.

"That's one down." Naruto grinned.

"Gee, I told her not to overdrink!" Ino shouted. "Forehead!" She called, nudging Sakura.

"I'll drop her home," Naruto offered, standing up. "It's almost eleven," he said, glancing at his phone. "Are you ready to leave, Miss. Hinata?"

Nodding, she got up off the floor with the help of Naruto and he quickly drew his hand back, turning away from her as if he was trying to hide something.

"I'll give you a ride home too, Ino," Naruto commented in a soft tone. Clearing his throat, he helped Sakura up and the girl was mumbling something about fuckboys. Ino wasn't as wasted as Sakura, but her body felt off, so Hinata wasted no time holding her up, although she was taller by two inches.

The soft gentle breeze blew his unkempt blonde hair as he drove down the empty road. After dropping Sakura to Ino's apartment, he was on his way to drop off the precious cargo home, Hinata. He didn't want her to leave just yet, so he drove as slow as he could possibly go.

Hinata felt an awkward tension in the car once he dropped the two girls off, so she started twirling her wedding ring around.

"How's Mr. Inuzuka? Is he still out of the country?" Naruto asked, trying to break the silence.

"Y-yes," She nodded. "He won't be back until the end of the month."

"That's a long time!" Naruto said in awe. "Don't you get lonely?"

Lonely? Yes, she did. Although she lived in the same city as her family, she rarely saw them. They weren't the affectionate people who had get-togethers, or family gatherings.

"Are you okay?"

Her head snapped up to look at Naruto, who had placed his hand on top of hers to get her attention. "You got really quiet on me, Miss. Hinata."

"Sometimes I do, but I'll be fine," She responded, eyeing his hand.

He quickly pulled back his hand and laughed nervously. Hinata was disappointed for some odd reason. When he removed his hand, he also removed the warmness that radiated off him.

"You're still not interested in having kids?"

"No. I've never been interested in having children, and I would have gotten a hysterectomy had my doctor not denied it." Hinata frowned. "He said my husband might want kids one day. What about me?"

"You should tell him you already have a lot of children. There's Ino, Sakura, that one girl with the glasses," He said, naming a few.

Hinata couldn't help but laugh at his comment then it died down. "Do you think it's weird I don't want children?"

"No," Naruto said, truthfully. "I know quite a few women who do not want children. It's your body, your choice. You do what makes you happy."

"Do you want children, Naruto?" Hinata asked, eyeing him.

"I honestly don't know. I'm just living life, enjoying myself but if it happens it happens." He shrugged.

"You be careful," Hinata said, getting ready to scold him. "Find yourself the right woman before you choose to have children with her. You're going to be stuck with her for a lifetime if you do."

Naruto snickered at Hinata's "mom comment." "Yes, Miss. Hinata. I know. Wrap it up,"

The silence was there again. So awkward… tension…

Naruto licked his lips, running his fingers through his soft hair.

"Are you okay, Naruto?" Hinata questioned.

"I'm fine," He mumbled.

"Perhaps you're upset you didn't get to drink a lick of alcohol." She smiled teasingly. "I hope I didn't ruin your night."

"Ruin my night?" He said as it was the most insulting thing he heard. "Miss. Hinata, you can never ruin my night. Every time I see your face, I can't help but smile. When I don't see you in the office, I feel like my day is about to be ruined."

Hinata began to feel her heart thump uncontrollably. Did he hear it too?

"Hinata," Naruto called her name in a serious tone. This left Hinata speechless as this was the first time, he had not called her Miss, despite her being married for so long.

"What is it, Naruto?"

The car came to a complete stop, and they were parked in front of the gates to her house. Hinata watched as he licked his lips before looking down.

"Naruto? Are you feeling unwell?" She placed her hand on his and held onto it gently.

Naruto held onto her, and a spark of electricity shocked her body. Her stomach was doing backflips when he stared into her eyes, and all she could think of was him kissing her. It felt intoxicating, yet exciting at the same time. Naruto was young, single, and she was this old married woman who turned red like some damn schoolgirl anytime he complimented her. She knew she should leave, but she felt stuck.

He was leaning close.

Countless thoughts filled her mind. Her marriage was good, and Kiba was faithful. Why would she feel this way? She was faithful, right?

Hinata's heart melted, and the butterflies in her stomach cheered when he planted his soft wet lips onto hers. It was such a simple kiss, but damn! Naruto pulled back and stared longingly into her eyes. "I'm sorry, Miss. Hinata," His tone was unapologetic. He didn't mean it and he knew it.

Without a single word, Hinata rushed out of the car and didn't look back.
