Chapter 32: A Devil's Complete Loss
In the real world, while sailing through the volcanic island in Taal by motor boat, Hunyo sees a purple aura had briefly scattered around the entire area and seeing that it was coming from both Jin and Rhima.
"That purple light... it must be from both Jin and Rhima's powers. I was hoping, you can restore this broken link." Hunyo mumbled as Brian nudges him.
"Hunyo, we're already close to the island."
Hunyo sees the volcanic island which are now inhabited by a few people including raising horses as he had thought.
I sensed that Jang-geum had his mercenaries to put the inhabitants to be imprisoned and to be used as bait to block our way. It's time to save the Metro from being terrorized by him.
The motor boat they are riding on continue to move through the volcanic island as the screen fades black.
That night in the World of Tekken, Jin finally tells Rhima about the continuation of his chaotic battle with his father Kazuya and how he had lost in the fight by getting overpowered by him as the flashback occurs.
Flashback:
"It was the third time we continued to fight each other but this time, utilizing my devil powers to take him down. I demonstrated of how to use my devil powers such as telekinesis and dispersing him with a powerful Hellfire Laser. Since he was down, I knew that he lost and to smash his face into the wall while lifting and pushing his face into the wall by flying airborne and descend by knocking his face into the ground by wrecking the building. However..."
Kazuya eventually transforms into Devil Kazuya and he begins to attack Jin in a close combat fight and has the upper hand and soon faces his son who was finally down.
"It's about time to end this farce."
Both men execute their powerful Hellfire Blast but Kazuya's own laser managed to bested Jin's own which knocks him on the ground. The fight becomes more intense and seeing that Kazuya has more advantage than his own son. Despite the latter had beating him for the count, Kazuya begins to overpower him with his punches and knocks him into the car.
"Know your place!" Kazuya in his devil form finally executes his Demonic Catastrophe Rage Art in a quick succession. With one punch and a Hellfire Blast to send Jin airborne and flies to make a powerful heavy blow and a powerful right heel drop, the knock him down as it whited out.
Flashback over:
The scene changes where Jin, Rhima and Lee had taking an overnight camp so that they can be fetched by Lars tomorrow as Lee makes a campfire to cook their food for dinner.
"It's pretty weird that a pure devil would manage to beat a devil hybrid." Rhima remarked about how both of them fought.
"I wouldn't have thought that he would manage to show his trump card like toying with me when I destructively took him down." Jin said coldly and Rhima wanted to know what happened.
"Despite all the fight you had, what Mr. Mishima did after..."
Jin lowers his head and knowing that he was smart enough to take his advantage by trying to use innocent people as he tells her continuously as the scene changes back to where he was confronted by Kazuya in a weak state.
"I was still standing in my devil form but becoming weak because of the heavy beatings that Kazuya had put his own hands on me and trying to tell me that he's much superior than I am."
Flashback:
"That's all you can muster from the blood I gave you? As long as I live, the body count will only continue to grow." Kazuya stated to his son for not accepting the Devil Gene bloodline and both looked to see innocent people are running away.
He attempts to attack the innocent with his Hellfire Laser causing Jin to think that he had failed to protect everybody when mentioning his mother Jun.
"Mother... I still can't protect everybody!"
As the vision of Ancient Ogre and his mother who is down, Jin continues to narrate to Rhima about this incident while the entire scene had froze in time to see the attack caused by Kazuya's laser towards innocent people while the latter remains closing his eyes before being possessed by his devil side.
"Knowing Mishima Kazuya would use the innocent people by attacking them with his devil laser and deep in my mind that I told mother that I can't protect everybody. When I see those visions of Ogre and mother who was on the ground, I knew that I would give in to my anger. Because of my desperation to give more power, I made a critical mistake when my devil side finally takes over me."
Jin was now possessed by his devil side by tearing his jacket, shirt and gauntlets and gaining tattoos on his chest and executing a powerful Hellfire Blast but Kazuya dodges the laser.
"So the power's consumed you."
Seeing Jin was losing control over his devil powers, Kazuya eventually overpowers the latter with close combat techniques as he now states.
"Your resolve, your tenacity! All of it, for naught!"
Kazuya shoots a far more powerful Devil Blaster which was enough for Devil Jin to block out the blast but it consumes him afterwards.
Flashback over:
"I tried to block that power of his, but it was already too late and it was enough for me to get overpowered from the blast. Knowing that I was losing control over my devil powers." Jin said sadly.
"But how did you contact me then...? I knew you were down at this time." Rhima asked him which Jin looked at her in sadness and tells her.
"In my subconscious, after Kazuya had overpowered me in our deadly bout and knowing that I lost. When my devil side attempted to join hands with me, but I refused because I don't want to become like him. Just when I'm about to descend into the ground, I remember when mother and I we lived together at the Yakushima island until I called your name, desperately to get help."
Rhima eventually realizes what happened to him afterwards and soon crying over her awful actions to him.
"I was a real bullshit. I always thought that you called my name was a curse in my everyday life and as an E-Gamer. And I don't even know that you'd wanted me for help and I keep blaming you for ruining my whole life in the real world, I was so selfish..."
"Rhima-san..."
"If I knew you needed my help, I will glad to help you out on this. But I turned down on you because you're the one who caused more trouble to me." Rhima cried remorsefully over her actions which Jin comforts her and became deeply emotional as he shed tears on his brown eyes.
"You don't have to blame yourself, Rhima-san... I should be the one to blame. This is why I couldn't tell my friends including Xiao about my current state and how I lose to my own evil father who overpowered me in our deadly bout. You are the reason that gave me more strength to remain in my human form so that we can reunite together."
"You two... enough of the emotional drama. Dinner stew is ready..." Lee scolds both of them.
Both eventually dried their tears since now he finally told her everything and he calmly smiles at her.
"I always forgive you, Rhima-san... and we both had caused more trouble for what happened between our worlds."
"Yeah..." Rhima nodded.
While eating stew for dinner, Rhima was impressed on Lee's cooking despite in a armor suit get up.
"I've never seen you cook so much for all three of us."
"If Hunyo was good on cooking then it's my turn." Lee smiled in delight. "Even the maids of my elegant mansion were so surprised to see me cooking for the first time."
"Anyway, after Mr. Mishima overpowers Jin in their deadly fight, what's next?"
"This is the worst announcement Kazuya would even say. He announces the eighth King of the Iron Fist Tournament since he just destroyed the satellites including ours with his powerful devil laser beam." Lee answered in dismay.
"..."
"But whoever loses that tournament where they fail to prove their might, every country that represents on Earth will be wiped out." Jin said coldly over his father's announcement since he had lost to him from getting overpowered from their chaotic bout.
"It's just like the scene of Tournament of Power. where fighters who represents on that universe to fight for survival and that's how Mr. Mishima would do the same thing. Those fighters who were all eliminated in that tournament will be erased in existence. But since Mr. Mishima is a mere executioner to destroy every country that represents on Earth in whoever loses the tournament he had currently held." Rhima said knowing of Kazuya's logic and Lee excitedly compliments on her explanation.
"It looks like you know how to read manga books."
Jin remains unmoved after hearing about Rhima's explanation about Kazuya's logic of making the eighth tournament as he had thought.
She hasn't changed when she easily guess their plans. I was really hoping if she and I would be back together.
Afterwards, they are seen sleeping in sleeping bags. Jin remembers about what Lee had said to him that he had briefly in sync with Rhima which was not enough to restore the link between their worlds and what Rhima had told him earlier. He glances by checking on her at the sleeping bag and it turned out that she was awake. He finally gets up, revealing he was shirtless after he took off his jacket, shirt, gauntlets and boots and he checked on her sleeping bag where she also took off her vest, a gun holster containing a handgun and her brown flats and behind him, it was Rhima who decided to sit and lean on a tree while trying to check on her phone by checking the news about the current events in social media. Rhima remains upset when she had seen her old friends in school are already married with kids while others remain single and Ayamie is revealed to be engaged with her new fiance.
"You can't sleep..." Jin arrives to see her and she replies.
"Just trying my best to make me fall asleep."
Jin then goes to see her and sits beside her and he looked on her phone.
"Why are you looking at your phone? And it's filled of messages and photos."
"It was social media." Rhima said plainly and calmly tells him. "My old friends are already married with children and Ayamie was currently engaged with her new fiance. This is how my life cycle in the real world."
"If only if our world was like yours, it will be normal. But I caused the global war first then my father Kazuya had continued the war that I started."
"I've never seen you told me that you could tear off your jacket, shirt and gauntlets off when utilizing your devil powers. It's like Bruce Banner would transform into the Incredible Hulk if rips his clothes when he's more angry." Rhima teased Jin for being the Incredible Hulk which he retorts in denial.
"I'm not like that, Rhima-san..."
"Don't be liar, Jin... You actually done that when you possessed by your devil self." Rhima said shrugging off his retort. Jin was angrily annoyed by her actions until he admits in a sigh.
"Okay, I admit it... I wanted to defend the innocent but I made a critical mistake by giving more power, leading me to be possessed by my devil side."
"..."
"Rhima-san... I already admit my feelings to you when we stayed at the coffee farm. I wanted to be with you as long as you stay here in my world to finish your mission." Jin said calmly to her and finally professes his love to her and Rhima tells him about the reason that they couldn't sync with each other due to their current issues in their world.
"I want to restore that link. I cannot believe that it was you being the key to my mission. The reason we couldn't sync with each other because we got separated for six months and we're not so close. I think for myself that I was giving a hard time living a single life in my world."
"We need to fix ourselves, Rhima-san... We both responsible for our recent troubles. You were lucky that you only just to blame me for ruining your everyday life while me myself was trying to atone for my sins to set things right by killing Kazuya, but I failed." Jin said sadly as he looked at the night sky. "If only if I was freed from my devil side, I can finally live normally."
"I think this is what Xiaoyu or Mrs. Kazama had wanted, saving your soul from evil."
"Rhima-san... I..."
"What is it, Jin?" Rhima wondered while looking at him which he finally asks her.
"It's like the girl who keeps asking you about this. Do you still love me?"
Rhima noticed it was the same question as Reina and blushes when he asked her personally if she loves him which she lowers her head, finally admitting her feelings to him truthfully.
"The truth is... I really do love you and I keep this to anyone else. A lot of guys including Kyun-bin who were interested on me, and I never give my heart to someone else when they dated with me. My heart belongs to you."
With the reprise of the song "More Days With You" has been played, Jin was surprised that Rhima had keeping her feelings to him and was happy to hear that she had been longing to see him again. And he soon hugged her amorously, as he happily shed both of his tears.
"I've been wanting to see you for a long time, Rhima-san. If this link was not broken then I would see you again to spend time with us together. I'm glad that you still loved me and I missed you so much."
"Yes..."
"We have to restore the link between our worlds, Rhima-san. So that Lee and the others can travel to the real world to see you and our friends living there and I will help you finished your mission." Jin decided to finish Rhima's mission by restoring the link between their worlds and Rhima nods in agreement.
The song ends where both continued to hug each other tightly and zooms into the night sky that shifts into the real world.
At the volcanic island in Taal, Hunyo and the others arrive and they see Jang-geum's mercenaries are guarding the houses where the inhabitants living in the volcano.
"Looks like Jang-geum had definitely came prepared and he seems that he was waiting for us to be here." Rei commented about Jang-geum's preparation and Ibrahim informs them.
"The AFP and the PNP are all deployed to surround the bomb terrorist."
"Hunyo, what's your plan?" Brian asked and Hunyo angrily raises his brow knowing of his plans.
"I can't let that bastard taking them hostage. They maybe heavily armed, I will knock them out with my two fists! Let's see if they can shoot those."
Hunyo decided to face the mercernaries one last time and the endgame of terrorism begins as the red orange lightning finally crackles on his fists.
Trivia:
*The theme of Yoshimitsu's Tekken 2 ending was played when Hunyo's group are almost reach in the volcanic island of Taal.
*Before Jin's devil side takes over him to battle Devil Kazuya, it was briefly frozen in time when the latter tells it to Rhima about the incident. The scene is taken from U2's Elevation within the first stanza of the song.
*Jin finally tells Rhima about his continuous fight with his father Kazuya during the second half of the first chapter of Story Mode where he reveals that he was defeated by Kazuya from getting overpowered.
*Lee also tells Rhima about Kazuya's announcement of the eighth King of the Iron Fist Tournament which is also from the first chapter of the Story Mode.
*When Jin emotionally teary eyed after Rhima cries remorsefully over her recent actions to him in the beginning is where Recca Hanabishi stops his mother Kagero for using his friends in their ordeal in the manga/anime, Flame of Recca.
*Rhima reveals that she has a Facebook when she scrolls down the current events including the news about her friends within her cellphone. But never mentioned this to the Tekken characters as both Julia and Ganryu had one in their recent roles in Tekken 7 as a live streamer.
