Lakewood, 2037
A Reptiliape, a reptilian monster with fur and walks like an ape, was terrorizing people at a children's playground.
The Lakewood Troop came running in with a webbing launcher, freeze ray, and blaster.
The current Troop is made up of three high school teenagers like every other Troop.
Jacob has red curly hair and freckles; he was the brains of the team with tech skills and monster knowledge.
Samantha has dark brown hair, and glasses, and knows martial arts.
Fred has black hair; he is courageous and strategic in monster hunting and also acts as the leader of the team.
"Jacob, you better snark those people before they run off," said Fred. "Sam and I will lure the reptiliape into the woods to trap it."
"Roger," Jacob said.
As Jacob pulled out the snark box, Sam and Fred used the blaster to drive the reptiliape into the woods.
As the reptiliape was out of the clearing, Fred used the freeze ray to freeze its left foot to the ground, and as it was struggling to get free, Sam wrapped it up in a net fired from the launcher.
"Hey, great work," said Sam high-fiving Fred.
Back at the headquarters, Cadence was going through the monster files on Troop Grid.
The Troop came out through the elevator carrying a containment chest containing the reptiliape.
"Mission accomplished, Cadence," said Fred. "And with not a scratch on any of the three of us."
"Excellent, you've done well these past two months since the three of you were chosen to be part of this Troop," Cadence said.
"That's because we've got a good Troop leader like you who knows how to catch monsters because you are and think like a monster," said Sam.
"It's still rather unprecedented to me that a monster became part of the Troop that worked from 2009 to 2013," said Jacob.
"Not only that, but I also continued working with every other Lakewood Troop until former Troop advisor, Mr. Leslie Stockley, retired, and they chose me to lead the Troop," explained Cadence.
"And it's still surprising that a monster is leading us to fight monsters," said Fred. "It's almost like you're telling us to kill your own kind."
"I'm half monster half human, so I'm nobody's own kind," Cadence said.
"Fair point, I guess," said Fred.
Just then, an alarm went off in the headquarters; an alarm that neither of the Troop had ever heard before.
"What's that?" Sam asked.
"I don't know," said Cadence. "I've never heard it before."
Troop Grid suddenly went static a few seconds before a message flashed on.
The message came from International; it said, 'If you're reading this, you better be ready; the king and queen will rise'.
"What's that supposed to mean?" questioned Sam. "What king and queen?"
"The king and queen of the monsters," a voice said.
The Troop turned around to see a teenage boy with silver clothes and purple hair.
"Zeon," Cadence said with joy. "What're you doing here?"
"I came to inform you about what's coming," he said.
"Who's this, Cadence?" asked Jacob.
"Troop, meet Zeon," said Cadence.
"Hey, wait, I think I've heard of you," said Jacob. "You're that guy who claimed to have created the whole monster world along with the monsters."
"I'm not some 'that guy'," Zeon said feeling offended. "I'm a celestial entity, and yes it was I who created the monster dimension."
"And also, the one who took the Lakewood Troop who graduated in 2013 along with Cadence here on an adventure through the monster world."
"Okay, so what does it mean by 'the king and queen will rise'?" Fred asked.
"Maybe you're not familiar with Typhon and Echidna," Zeon said.
"I thought those two were a myth to both human and monsterkind," said Cadence.
"No, they're definitely real," said Zeon. "While humans call them the father and mother of all monsters, Typhon and Echidna are really the king and queen of the monsters."
"Funny, I thought Godzilla was the king of the monsters," said Fred.
"Well, there's a difference between Godzilla and Typhon," Zeon said. "Godzilla is not real while Typhon is."
"Did you also create Typhon and Echidna along with the other monsters?" Sam asked.
"Yes, I created them to have the power to create monsters," Zeon explained. "I created both of them with this kind of power as a way to bring monsters back to life in case my work was destroyed, and all monsters were somehow wiped out."
"Like, for example, my DNA tubes that contained Helmatrop DNA were accidentally contaminated with DNA goo from a Yeti, and the process was unfortunately unfixable."
"At the same time, the helmatrop was nearly driven to extinction in 2505 BCE, and their remaining numbers weren't enough for them to repopulate."
"But luckily, when Typhon and Echidna sensed that, they expanded the helmatrop numbers."
"Typhon and Echidna have a symbiotic relationship with each other and share their powers to create monsters."
As he continued to explain, he displayed a hologram of Typhon and Echidna.
"Typhon maintains the DNA of every monster species I've ever created, he can then transfer certain kinds of DNA into Echidna when they make forehead contact, the DNA is molded with Echidna's genes which allow her to create any monster depending on the DNA Typhon gave her."
"Not only that, but they're both made as the alpha species to every monster, and all monsters also show very command respect to the both of them; if no monster doesn't, Typhon and Echidna can control the minds of all monsters."
"Alright, so we get the king and queen part, but what does the 'rise' part mean?" Fred asked.
"I should explain the whole story about that," said Zeon. "Far back in the time of ancient Greece, Typhon and Echidna managed to somehow escape to the human world though they weren't supposed to."
"Every Troop from the Greek branch came together to help me stop both monsters before they could destroy this world."
"We defeated the both of them by imprisoning them beneath the Earth's crust, but the process only weakened them."
"I had the Troops of that time leave messages for future Troop generations to be ready for their return."
"I'm sure right now every Troop around the world has been informed about this; I just thought I should tell you myself since I have a great history with the Lakewood Troop."
"So, how do you know when these two monsters are going to return?" Cadence asked.
"There are going to be some signs that warn us about their return," Explained Zeon. "First, there will be earthquakes all over the world."
"Second, the skies will be covered in red and dark thunderclouds."
"Third, chunks of Earth will break off and float away."
"Fourth, mountains will sink into the Earth."
"And finally, all monsters will behave wildly as Typhon and Echidna will unleash their mind powers across the world."
"How do you know their return is going to happen around this time?" asked Jacob.
"Two days ago, I was busy dealing with Monster 600, Ice Ghouls, and Monster 1,300, a Ningen, in Antarctica, trying to send them back to the monster dimension," said Zeon. "Then a couple of earthquakes happened every so often there; earthquakes don't happen that often in Antarctica, so I had a feeling that Typhon and Echidna were preparing to return."
"I told the Troops from ancient Greece about these signs so that they'll be ready for their return."
"There hasn't really been any earthquake activity around Lakewood, so we can't say for certain that they're both returning just yet," said Jacob.
All of a sudden, the whole headquarters began to shake with dust falling from the ceiling and almost everything falling over.
"Want to bet on that!" shouted Fred while he tried to keep his balance.
The shaking stopped and everything stayed quiet and motionless for a few seconds.
Suddenly, a news report appeared on Troop Grid.
"Multiple earthquakes have mysteriously appeared across Lakewood," the news lady reported. "I've just been informed that the same earthquakes have hit all across the United States."
"Yup," said Fred as he turned off the news. "We're dead."
