Chapter 4:
"To hear that Caroline believed our lives to be in danger from the De Martel's was an understatement, it was a shock to hear that she believed Lucien would betray us, it was a mystery as to how she could gather this information, even if she was unsure herself.
But even then I always trusted my dearest wife's judgement. Her counsel and confidence always made me feel as if I've always done the right thing. I will forever respect her judgement. But even now wondering all the mysteries of my wife's mystery blackouts, my siblings and I all strived to discover the answers to such a mystery, but I can only acquiesce to the information I gathered."

"Surely, this is impossible, it can't be true." Finn said recovering from the shock of hearing of an forthcoming betrayal.
Caroline could bow her head as she said, "I don't know, but I… I think it could be true, I don't know. I'm scared of the outcome, of this, I'm scared that I could be wrong."
Niklaus took his wife's face into his hands and kissed her lightly on the head and whispered, "Sweetheart, you couldn't be wrong, we all believe in you."
Elijah then took a knee as he said, "Caroline, you said that you saw someone, two people in fact both that called themselves The Ones, who were they?"
"No idea, only that they wanted me to know that they would see me soon. However long that it would be." Caroline said looking up.
Kol then looked on in intrigue as he said, "Something's going on, and it seems that there's something being hidden, for what reason I don't know."

Klaus and Caroline looked at each other in horror knowing Kol was about to stumble upon something, but even they couldn't begin to understand what Kol was about to do, they didn't want to leave anything to chance either which was a massive concern, due to Kol's elevated senses and emotions.
Caroline then turned to Klaus who nodded and said, "It's a good a time as any."
"Alright, Kol, you deserve to know the truth and it will stay between all 6 of us, and Aphrodite." Caroline said.
Finn raised an eyebrow as did Kol who asked, "Well, what's gotten you both so rattled?"
"Do you remember when Henrik was killed and the circumstances of his death?" Niklaus asked still thinking of his younger brother.
Everyone all nodded remembering how the werewolves had killed Henrik and how Esther plotted with Mikael to protect their family through dark means, doing what had to be done.
Caroline then began, "Before his death happened, I had a vision of it, I had a vision of when he would die, I couldn't let it happen, but when he and Niklaus went to watch the wolves, I killed the wolves to protect Henrik."
"But Henrik, we saw his body, his face covered in blood from his wounds." Rebekah said remembering that fateful day.

"It was a body double, someone that looked like him, if you looked hard enough, it wasn't him." Niklaus said.
Kol ran a hand through his hair and growled, "Why the deception, why put us through the grief?" "Because Henrik wasn't father's son!" Niklaus said.
Everyone stopped what they were doing as Finn asked, "What?"
"Niklaus, what are you saying?!" Elijah asked. Caroline spoke up once more, "Your mother had another affair with the man who fathered Niklaus, your mother told me this and couldn't tell anyone else, she couldn't tell Finn for that matter."
Finn couldn't understand why, but he always knew that his mother had more secrets, secrets that he wasn't knowledgeable to. But his gut has had a bad feeling for many years and it appears the feeling is only getting worse.
"I don't know what to say, I don't know how to answer all these questions that are on my mind." Finn said.
Kol then asked, "How was it you were able to deceive us all, how were you able to use the magic without myself or mother detecting you?"
"It wasn't easy, but I had to cloak my magic, I had some help with Ayana, to make it feel like she was doing the spells herself." Caroline explained.

Niklaus walked over to Elijah who was deep in thought as he asked, "Something the matter, Elijah?" "All this, what you did, you did to protect our brother, but why couldn't he come with us?" Elijah asked.
"Caroline said, it was safer this way, that he would be able to make his way on his own. Besides, there was answers that Caroline needed to find out about and Henrik volunteered to stay in the New World to help her." Niklaus said.
Elijah smiled nodding as he said, "She is a wonder to us all, Niklaus. I'm grateful for her to be our sister."
Niklaus smiled with pride in his blue eyes, but his face grew serious as he asked, "What are we to do about the De Martel's, if Caroline's vision is true, it won't be long before we're discovered?"
"Keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer, that is what our father would say." Elijah said.
Niklaus nodded as he walked over to Rebekah and took his daughter into his arms smiling down at her.
But looking over at his wife, he could see the hidden distress within her features and knew that she was shaken by her vision and even the mistake of trusting Lucien when she originally voted on killing him.
Caroline looked on as she thought back to the meeting with The Ones, she couldn't understand it, but who were they and why did they want her?

Flashback
"The Ones?" Caroline asked not hearing them correctly.
The man nodded as he said, "The Ones, but we will tell you… keep doing what you're doing, my dear Caroline."
"How do you know who I am or what I'm doing here?" Caroline asked.
The woman smiled and spoke for the first time, "When you are like us, Caroline, you learn to establish a perspective amongst others with unique abilities."
"Are you witches?" Caroline asked.
The woman smiled and said, "No, we're something more. We're immortals, you and us, we can't bear to lose the people that we love."
"So you can't bear to lose people, but that is life, we move on." Caroline said.
"That may be how others think, but us, our loved ones… we stick together and we carry our wounds, we rely on one another and we couldn't bear to be without our family." The man had said.
"Much like us, you are, Caroline. You're one of the good ones, you're pure and full of light. That's why you are here. You must not let anyone know about us, no one must know what you are." The woman had continued
"I will promise you this Caroline, our time is soon ending, we will contact you soon. Take care of yourself and take care of your family." Both the man and woman had said.
"I will." Caroline said and she soon returned to her family.
