Once Gajeel and Levy reached his house, he sat her down on the couch gently. "There Are some books waiting for you in that room right there," he says, pointing to a room down the hall.
"Gajeel…why are you acting this way?" Levy asks, not looking up from the couch.
"Because I want you to be mine forever, but I also want you to be happy." He says, grabbing a book out of the room for her. "Here, it's one of your favorites."
"You know my favorite books?' Levy asks, tilting her head.
"Of course I do, I pay attention." He says, sitting down beside her, pulling her into his lap. "Come on shrimp, you know you want too."
"You haven't called me shrimp in two days, who are you doing it again all of a sudden?" She asks, blushing after she ended up in his lap.
Gajeel shrugs, secretly taking her light pen out of her pocket, "I felt like it."
Levy smiles, completely unaware of her missing light pen, "why didn't you want me to look at that bookstore?" She asks, laying her head on his chest.
"There were too many guys in that store, you're mine and only mine. I don't want anyone else looking at you."
"Gajeel…we aren't dating, you can't control what I do or who I talk to. Plus you hurt me earlier."
"I wasn't trying to hurt you, I just wanted you to get away from there." He leans in close to her, "what if I wanted to date you? Make you mine?" He whispers, seductively.
This statement caused Levy to blush, "um well…" she pauses, unsure of what to say. "If you want to get together, we can explore the idea but I'd expect you to actually ask me out."
"Or you could just be my girlfriend now so we can get right down into things."
Levy frowns, "that doesn't sound very appealing to me, I want to experience everything!"
Gajeel groans, "shrimp, will you be my girlfriend?"
"Use my name."
"Levy…" Gajeel growls, "will you be my girlfriend?"
"Only if you take me on a date." Levy huffs, crossing her arms. Gajeel was really starting to get annoyed now.
"Fine," he grumbles, "we can go on a date…tomorrow. I want you to myself tonight."
Levy nods, "alright…you're sounding a little possessive…"
"So what? You're mine and only mine!" He growls, squeezing her thigh.
"Ow, Gajeel, that hurt!"
"Oh, sorry…" Gajeel says, his face softening up for just a second. Levy just turns around and picks up the book Gajeel had brought out to her, snuggling into his side, she begins reading, instantly intrigued by the book. Gajeel smiled and rubbed Levy's arm as she read, reading over her shoulder.
Panther-Lily walked inside, frowning, "why was the door locked?"
"Lily," Gajeel says, turning around. "What're you doing here?"
"I live here…" he says, flying into the living room. "Am I interrupting something?"
"Nope," Levy says, hopping up, "I was just leaving!" She was trying to use this interaction as an excuse to leave, Gajeel was acting weird and making her uncomfortable.
"Yes you are." Gajeel growls at Lily, roughly pulling Levy back down onto him.
"Damnit Gajeel, that hurts!" Levy whines, sitting down on the couch.
"Then stop trying to leave."
"Gajeel, can I talk to you in the other room?" Lily asks, shooting Levy a side glance.
Gajeel narrowed his eyes, turning to face Levy, "can I trust you to stay here?"
"Yeah," Levy lies, "I have a book. I'll be fine."
Gajeel nods and stands up, trusting Levy, following Lily into the other room. "What did you want?"
"You're acting strange, what's wrong with you?" Lily asks, crossing his arms.
"Nothings' wrong with me!" He grumbles.
"You're being possessive over Levy and being very aggressive."
"Who cares? Maybe if she didn't keep trying to leave, I wouldn't have to be so aggressive."
"Gajeel, I think it's that season again."
"It is not! You remember what I was like last time! I was angry and destructive."
"That was before you found your mate. Finding them causes you to get super possessive and sometimes aggressive depending on the situation!"
"No, you're wrong. You don't even have any proof that she's my mate."
"You asked her out during mating season, that's enough proof for me."
Gajeel rolls his eyes, "whatever." He really missed Levy, he hated being away from her for so long but while he was talking to Lily, Levy had taken the opportunity to leave without him knowing.
Levy was walking home when she heard someone snicker. Instantly, she went to reach for her light pen only to frown, "what? Where is it?" She mumbles to herself, digging through her purse.
"Where's what girly?" A random guy asks, walking in front of her.
"Great…" Levy mutters, "who are you?"
"Name's Bren, now why don't you let me buy you a drink?"
"No thanks," Levy says, shaking her head. "I have a boyfriend."
Bren growls, "It wasn't a question. It was a demand."
"Well, I'm tired, maybe another time?" Levy suggests, not meaning a word she said as she attempts to go around him.
"You don't listen, do you?" Bren asks, grabbing her wrist tightly.
Levy was about to say something when she caught a glimpse of a very angry looking Gajeel. "I-..."
"Hey dumbass, leave her alone!" Gajeel growls, getting his iron fist ready.
Bren turns around and smirks, "and just who are you?" Bren wasn't a scrawny dude, he was pretty muscular with a six pack, and around 6 foot tall.
"Gajeel," he replies back grinning, "and that's my girlfriend you're messing with."
Bren's smile fades, "well this was fun, see you later!" He says, running off. Everyone in town knew who Gajeel was and even though he joined Fairy Tail and is trying to redeem himself, some people are still scared of him.
"Are you hurt?" Gajeel asks, walking up towards Levy.
"No, I'm not hurt, thanks to you…although I wouldn't have needed your help if you hadn't stolen my light pen, I want it back, it's how I use my magic, my only form of protection!"
"Sorry, I figured you wouldn't leave without making sure you had it first so I figured that was a good way to get you to stay," he says, pulling it out of his pocket and handing it to her. Levy took it back and put it in her purse, making sure it was secure but also easy to access. "Let's go back to my place."
Levy sighs, "fine."
Gajeel smiled and grabbed her hand, leading her back to his place, not wanting to let her go again. They arrived at his place just a few minutes later and Levy immediately went and sat on the couch. "Don't leave again," he says, firmly.
"Where's Lily?" Levy asks, ignoring him.
"Not sure, I'll check real quick," he says, walking through the house. "He's not here, he must have left. He'll probably be back soon though." He sits down beside Levy, "why do you keep on trying to leave?"
"Because you're scaring me. You're being super aggressive and controlling, it reminds me of the first time we met and I don't want to go through that again." Levy admits, looking at the ground instead of at Gajeel.
"Levy…" he says, "look at me." After a few moments of hesitation, Levy looks at him, tears falling down her face. "I will never do that to you ever again." He says, sternly.
"Alright…but can you at least take your aggressiveness down a few notches?"
Gajeel didn't answer, his mind was swirling with possibilities. Could it really be that season again? It couldn't be, it's too soon. Plus, all the dragon slayers go through the season together. If Gajeel was really going through it, the other dragon slayers would be as well. Gajeel felt guilty for what he did to Levy the day he met her and also feels guilty for how he's making her feel now, he didn't want to make her feel that way.
Levy sighed and just laid her head in his lap, "Gajeel, I'm happy to be your girlfriend, but I do expect that date," she smiles.
"Anything for you…as long as no one else is around…"
Levy sighs, "it's a work in progress I guess," she mutters, closing her eyes. "Goodnight Gajeel."
"Night Levy."
