Lector and Frosh flew as fast as they could to the Fairy Tail guild. They had to put a stop to this before it got too bad or chaos would erupt. The dragon slayers get so defensive and protective over their mates during The Season. What's worse is if their mates reject them…their heart will literally break in half, their mates are basically their life force during this time.
While on their way, they run into PantherLily and Carla, "we were just on our way to the Fairy Tail guild. Is Happy with yall?" Lector asks.
"No, he's probably at his house, he went after Natsu after he went crazy." PantherLily explains.
"We need to grab him, we need to discuss this with all of us, the dragon slayers aren't going crazy." Lector explains, "I'll explain more once we meet up with Happy."
"Fro thinks so too!" The exceeds all follow Lily and Carla towards Natsu's house where they were hoping to find Happy. It took a little while for the exceeds to get there because Frosh kept getting distracted but they didn't mind too much, everyone loves Frosh!
Carla knocked on the door and Happy opened it. "Is Natsu here?" Lector asks.
"No, but what are y'all doing here?"
"We need to talk, can we come in?" Lily asks. Happy nods and opens the door wider for the other exceeds. The exceeds flies in and sits down on the couch, "Happy, have you heard of The Season? It only affects dragon slayers."
"Yeah, I know a little bit about it, Natsu went crazy during the last season." Happy nods.
"Well, we believe it's that season again and it's going to be worse if the dragon slayers find their mate which we believe they have." Lector begins, "and if they've found their mates, they're going to go crazy! If they mark their mates and their mates either don't love them back or they fall out of love with them, the dragon slayers will die. It will literally break their heart in two, no warning and no way to fix it."
"Fro doesn't like the sound of that!"
"You shouldn't, it's not good. We either need to keep the dragon slayers apart from their mates until The Season is over or be absolutely sure their mates won't break their hearts." Carla says.
"I say we tell gramps," Happy interjects. "He'll know what to do."
The other exceeds nods and they all leave Happy's house and make their way towards the guild hall. Thankfully, Natsu's house is very close to the guild hall. The exceeds do their best to make sure Frosch stays on track, Frosch loves exploring and gets distracted very often.
They get to the guild and immediately fly over to Gramp's door. Lily goes in front and knocks, "Gramps, can we come in?"
"Come in, my children," he responds. Lily opens the door and all the exceeds flies in. "Lector, Frosch, what are you two doing all the way down here?"
"We've come to talk to you about the dragon slayers," Lector begins, "have you heard of The Season before?"
"I have, but it's just a myth, the dragon slayers don't actually go through that. There's nothing to worry about."
"You're wrong," Lector says, bluntly. "The dragon slayers have gone through it before and they're going through it again."
"How are you so sure of this?"
"The way they're acting. They're acting possessive over their mates, they don't want anyone else around them. I'm pretty sure all the dragon slayers have found their mate. Which makes everything worse. We need to separate them from their mates."
Gramps stands up, "I hear you, it's not just a myth. None of the dragon slayers are in the guild, right?" All the exceeds nods. "Good, then I'll make everyone aware to be on the lookout for them and to try and keep them in one area away from their mates."
Gramps walks out of his office and looks at everyone, "ok brats, I need everyone's attention! The dragon slayers are going through something called The Season. This means that they are going to be very possessive over whoever they choose as their mates. They aren't going to want anyone else around them. The exceeds think that they've already found their mates. That means we need to keep them apart from their mates as much as possible. If a dragon slayer marks their mate, then they become bound through one heart. If their mate dies or falls out of love with them, the dragon slayers also die. None of us want that. I have a pretty good idea who their mates are and I'm sure y'all do too."
