By the time Levy, Laki, Jet, and Droy arrive at the guild, Panther Lily had already taken Gajeel down into the dungeon where they were keeping them. "Where's Gajeel?" Levy asks, turning towards Panther Lily.
"He's downstairs, with the other dragon slayers, you can go see him but whatever you do, don't open the cage." Lily says, sternly. "It's been very difficult getting them in there."
Levy nods and makes her way downstairs, taking a deep breath, preparing herself for the worst. "Gajeel?" She asks, as she gets to the last step.
"Shrimp?" Gajeel asks, "they've gone crazy! Tell them to let us go! They put an enchantment on the bars so they aren't metal."
"Gajeel," Levy says, walking up to the bars. "This is what needs to happen but only until The Season is over, it isn't safe. I'm sorry, I don't want to be away from you either but it's what's best for both of us."
Gajeel growls, "we didn't do anything!"
Levy sighs, she isn't going to be able to talk any sense into him, "I love you."
A scowl appeared on his face, "I hope you come to your senses soon…I need you Levy!"
Levy gives him a sad smile before walking back upstairs. Scanning the room, she saw Mira, Lucy, and Kianna sitting at a table together, chatting quietly. They all looked a little sad. Levy made her way over to them, "hey girls."
"Oh, hey Levy. Did they already explain everything to you about Gajeel?"
"Yeah, but I also already knew about it from reading, I just completely missed the signs." She sat down beside Lucy and sighed, "he's extremely angry at me right now. Plus, the dragon slayers have already entered phase two of The Season so he's getting worse. I hate seeing him like this."
"I know, I feel the same way about Laxus," Mira says.
"I wish I knew how long this is going to last, unfortunately the books didn't say anything about that."
"We'll get this figured out soon," Lucy says. "It'll go back to the way it used to be, then we can date them safely, if we want to, that is. I know I want to be with Natsu after all this. The Season brought out the sweet side of him."
Meanwhile, Bisca, Alzack, Wakaba, and Carla made their way to Fairy Hills. "We should probably hurry up, the last time she went through this, she became very angry and if Romeo is her mate, I really don't know how she's going to react with him." Carla says, flying faster.
Bisca and Carla look at the two boys, "they won't let men into Fairy Hills. You two wait out here and I'll get Romeo outside unseen. Carla will get Wendy and fly her to the guild," Bisca says, everyone nodding in agreement.
Bisca followed Carla inside, towards Wendy's apartment. Carla quietly opened the door to see Wendy and Romeo sleeping together on the couch. "They look really cute together. I hope they stay together after all this is over," Bisca says, quietly walking over to the couch. She gently shook Romeo awake, "Romeo, wake up."
"Huh? What?" Romeo asks, shooting up.
"Shh," Bisca whispers, "be quiet."
"We're going to head to the guild, Carla is going to take Wendy. There's something you should know that will be explained at the guild."
"Why isn't Wendy coming with us?" Romeo asks, confused.
"That's what we're going to explain to you at the guild," Bisca says, "come on."
Romeo nodded and yawned, standing up. "Let's go then, she's been acting weird anyways."
As soon as he stood up, Wendy groaned, "come back." Carla immediately grabbed Wendy by her dress and sprouted wings, flying out of the building as fast as she could. Romeo followed Bisca outside to see Alzack and Wakaba waiting outside.
"They were both asleep so it was easy, Carla and Wendy are already on their way to the guild. We should get going in case they need help," Bisca says.
"I still want to know what's going on," Romeo says, "I'm worried about Wendy."
"Everything will be ok. The other dragon slayers are going through the exact same thing, we'll give you more information at the guild, but we should hurry." Alzack says, walking faster.
"Oh ok," Romeo says, following everyone to the guild.
Carla had arrived at the guild, struggling to carry Wendy at this point due to her fighting back so hard. Once inside, she dropped Wendy to the ground who immediately used her wind dragon roar at the crowd of guild members.
"Ice-make wall!" Gray says, getting in front of as many people he can, blocking the roar from hitting a third of the guild members that were there.
Romeo, Alzack, Bisca and Wakaba arrived at the guild moments later and Romeo jumped into action, "purple net!" Wendy gets caught under the net.
"Romeo!" Wendy exclaims, "what the hell? Let me go!" She growls, "you're my mate, you aren't allowed to betray me like this! You're supposed to be mine!"
Romeo sits down, tuning her out. He couldn't bear to hear her say that about him, "please stop."
Erza went over and picked Wendy up who was still struggling and carried her down to the dungeon while Mira walked over to Romeo, "come over here, we can explain everything and help," she says, putting out her hand. Romeo looked up and took her hand, following her over to where the girls were sitting.
"What is happening to Wendy?"
"She's going through something called The Season, it's something that all dragon slayers go through during their lifetime, most of the time, they go through it more than once. They get very aggressive and protective of their mates. If you and her were to mate and one of yall died or fell out of love with each other, you would both die, mating is extremely dangerous because it connects your souls," Levy explains.
"Oh," Romeo says, "that's a lot of information…"
"Yeah, we all just found out today," Lucy says, "I miss Natsu."
"We could go as a group and go see everyone," Mira suggests. She looks around at everyone who had nodded in approval, it seems they all missed their respective dragon slayers. They all stood up and made their way downstairs to the deep part of the guild, where the dragon slayers were being held. All but two dragon slayers were there and the last two dragon slayers would have to be kept in their own cell since they saw each other as mates, it would suck for them but there isn't really any other choice.
Romeo wasn't sure if he was ready to see Wendy just yet but he had to admit, he did miss her. "Wendy?" Romeo asks, as the group gets down there.
Wendy was sitting on her respective bed, angrily flipping through a book, although it didn't look like she was actually paying attention to it; it was just something to keep her busy. "Romeo!" She exclaims, dashing to the bars, "I missed you! I really want some cuddles, why don't you come in here and we can cuddle up together?"!r!"
Before Romeo could decline her offer, Mira stepped in, "nice try Wendy, but we aren't letting you out. At least not until this dragon mating season is over." Wendy growls and sits back down on the bed. Mira walks over to Laxus and smiles softly, "hey."
Laxus looks up at her, an electric shock running through his body. "I need you, I need to get out of here!"
"Laxus," Mira whispers, "you know that's not what's going to happen. We're going to figure out how long this is going to last and go from there. Look, I miss you, ok? I hate this but there isn't anything I can do about this right now."
"Damn you Mira!" Laxus growls, "and to make matters worse, you put me in here with these idiots!"
"Who you calling an idiot?" Gajeel asks, walking over to him.
"All of you!" Laxus growls.
Gajeel got in Laxus's face and pushed him, "shut up."
"Gajeel, stop it please!" Levy exclaims, "just calm down."
Gajeel looked over at Levy who had a pleading look on her face, his face immediately softened, "Levy," he walks over to the bars and touches her fingertips, not able to reach her whole hand. Levy stepped closer and put her hand in his, "thank you."
"Ugh, get a room!" Natsu complains.
"Shut up," Levy and Gajeel say in unison.
"Don't tell me to shut up!" Natsu growls.
"Maybe we should go for now, they aren't in a good mood right now, it could get really tense," Mira says, seeing as how all the dragon slayers were at each other's throats.
They all agree and make their way upstairs. Lucy and Kianna looked back at Natsu and Erik, smiling softly at their respected mates. Romeo, who was still shaken up about the Wendy situation, stayed close to the others.
