Chapter 7: Annabelle's Wish:
Rudolph's POV:
Thanks to the Misfit Toys, we arrived in Twobridge.
"What was he thinking," asks Hermey, "I'm an elf and you're a reindeer! The only one who could fit in here is Yukon Cornelius!"
"Relax," says Yukon Cornelius, "it could always be worse."
Yukon Cornelius: If the glass looks half empty
And your prospects are low
Attitude adjustment's the only way to go
Things could be worse than that
You could be lost in the desert
200 degrees
No water around
And lots of snakes and bees
Remember it's tough
And it's cold out there
Life sometimes can be unfair
So, every step forward
There's a step in reverse
Things could be better
They could always be worse
Yes, things could be better in this big universe
But remember it could always be worse
Chorus Girls: Remember it could always be worse
Yukon Cornelius: You could be out to sea with no land in sight
Surrounded by sharks with a big appetite
Things could be worse than that!
You could be lost in a forest
End up stuck up in a tree
Chased by a monster
And no way to get free
Yes, things could be better in this big universe
But remember it could always be worse
Chorus Girls: Remember it could always be worse
Yukon Cornelius: Don't look so sad
And don't feel so bad
That's not so hard to do…
Cause things could be worse than that
Life throws you some curves
But just change your demeanor
Cause trust me my friend
The grass, it ain't always greener
Remember it's tough and it's cold out there
Life, sometimes can be unfair
Yukon Cornelius/Chorus Girls: So for every step forward
There's a step in reverse
Things could be better
They could always be worse
Yes, things could be better
In this big universe
But remember it could always be worse
Remember it could always be worse
Yukon Cornelius: Let me hear the band
Yukon Cornelius/Chorus Girls: Remember it could always be worse!
"Where did those chorus girls come from," asks Hermey.
"I have no idea," says Yukon Cornelius, "I think they're stalking me."
"Because we are!"
"Let's move," says Yukon Cornelius.
. . .
We then snuck into a barn. "Now, what are we going to do about food," says Yukon Cornelius, "wait, this is a barn! There's plenty to eat!"
"I wouldn't!" We looked and it's a cow. "Wait, you're a reindeer! Are you one of Santa's reindeer?"
"UUUUUUUUUhhhhhhhhh..." I began.
"I always wanted to fly like them," says the cow, "I'm Annabelle and my wish is to fly!"
We then looked at each other.
"Now I feel like a misfit," says Yukon Cornelius, "because I'm the only one who isn't a misfit!"
"I'm Rudolph and this is Hermey and Yukon Cornelius," I said, "we're... sort of hiding here."
"Oh, no problem," says Annabelle.
"How are you talking," asks Hermey.
"Oh, Santa gave us all the ability to talk," says Annabelle, "he usually waits til Christmas, but he decided to give us the gift early this year."
"You mean the other animals can talk," asks Yukon Conrelius, "this is perfect, if someone hears Rudolph talk, they'll think he's one of the locals!"
"Oh, only one human knows we can talk," says Annabelle, "my best friend, Billy Baker. Ironically, he can't talk."
"A human who can't talk made friends with a talking cow," says Hermey, "I like it."
"I'll introduce you guys to Billy," says Annabelle.
"Okay, but just him," says Hermey.
To Be Continued
