Chapter 8: There's Always Tomorrow:
Rudolph's POV:
Annabelle introduced us to Billy. He agreed to hide us from his grandfather.
"Thanks, Kid," says Yukon Cornelius, "and later, I'll see if I can find some silver or gold, depends on what's in Tennessee."
"Rudolph, wanna hang with me," asks Annabelle.
"Sure," I said.
. . .
Annabelle and I were exploring the farm. "Who's that," I asked.
"That's Emily," says Annabelle, "Billy's best friend besides me. I think he likes her. Are you okay?"
"I just wish I had a normal nose," I said.
"Rudolph," says Annabelle.
Annabelle: There's always tomorrow
For dreams to come true
Believe in your dreams
Come what may
There's always tomorrow
With so much to do
And so little time
In a day
We all pretend the
Rainbow has an end
And you'll be there
My friend, some day
There's always tomorrow
For dreams to come true
Tomorrow is
Not far away!
We were then getting closer, but someone threw snowballs at us.
"Were that cow and that reindeer about to make out," asks one of them.
"This farm is weird," says the other.
My nose then started glowing and the two ran away.
"Who were they," I asked.
"Bucky and Buster," says Annabelle, "they like to torment Billy."
"Bucky and Buster bully Billy," I asked.
"Yeah, wh- oh!" Annabelle then laughs.
I then smiled as she laughed.
. . .
"... and she sings like an angel," I said, "and her laugh, and-"
"Rudolph, I'm not one to... uuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhh... judge," says Hermey, "but you know she's a cow and you're a reindeer, right?"
"Yeah, wh- wait, no, I'm not falling in love with her or anything," I said.
"You just spent the whole time talking about her," says Yukon Cornelius.
Then we heard something. We then took a look. "Who's she," I asked.
Annabelle shows up. "That's Agnes Planter, Billy's Aunt," says Annabelle, "she wants to have the perfect Christmas, so she tries to take Billy away from his grandpa."
"That's a rotten thing to do," says Yukon Cornelius, "trying to separate a boy from the one who raised him!"
That made me think about how I'm separated from my parents. Agnes gave Billy gifts, but not the kind he likes.
. . .
"Soon, Billy, I'll take you away from this dreary place and..." She then sees me. "What do we have here?" My nose started to glow, and Agnes ran away.
Billy then patted me on the head. "You're welcome," I said.
. . .
I then told the others my decision. "I want to go back to the North Pole," I said.
"We understand, I'm homesick too," says Hermey.
"One problem," says Yukon Cornelius, "how do we get there?"
"I have something that can help," says Annabelle, "but I want to come with you!"
"I don't think that's a good idea," I said.
"Please," says Annabelle.
"We should at least see what she's got," says Hermey.
. . .
Annabelle then showed us the hot air balloon. "That would do," the three of us said.
We then got in. "Billy, you gotta take care of your grandpa," says Yukon Cornelius, "and I promise you, we will make sure you don't have to stay with your aunt. That witch... no offense, I understand she is still part of your family."
We then took off.
To Be Continued
