Angels

Beings of light that are made by the goddess Ilias using the holy element which she governs over. Their bodies are made of pure energy unlike monsters, as such when they die, their body slowly fades into particles of light until there is nothing left. However, what would happen if they had a physical body? A body that is not made from pure energy, a container wrapped around their holy energy which is closely tucked together with their soul.

Alice Pov

Today is the birthday of that evil goddess Ilias, a day where she descends onto the surface world and give out blessings to humans and turn them into heroes. It is also the day where I will begin exploring the world by myself. Now the reason behind why I decided to choose that evil goddess's birthday as the date for my world tour, is because I wanted to see the face of that evil goddess when I attack her on her way to bless her heroes.

As such, I have been waiting on the path that she would take for her to reach Ilias village from the navel of the world.

As I was waiting, I spotted a what seemed to be a shooting star flying towards my current direction, upon looking at the star with my enhanced sight, I discovered that the shooting star was no star, it was the evil goddess herself.

I immediately put on my concealment spell and launched myself towards her. The moment I manage to get close to her I slashed at her using my sword, Angel Halo, one of the only weapons out there that is said to allow its wielder to hurt an angel, the same applying to the goddess too.

"Ouch, What the!?" Ilias who was suddenly attacked yelped in pain and confusion, turned towards the me. Her expression immediately turned into pure rage as she released whom I was, and for some reason she looked as if she's gotten even more angrier after seeing my sword next.

"Descendant of the whore... That sword does not belong to you..." Ilias said as she stared coldly at me.

I shivered immediately as I felt the hatred in her voice, does she really hate monsters that much? But before I can think more about it, she launched her fist at me at a ridiculous speed. I who was surprised, barely manage to block it with Angel Halo in time. The blow collided with Angel Halo with so much force, that it went flying off into the distance.

"That this you bitch, God Blow" Ilias said as she followed up with another punch that was filled even more power, this time sending me flying off instead.

Ilias village graveyard

The graveyard at Ilias village would be the same as the graveyard of every other village if not for the fact that there was a certain grave that contains the "corpse" of a certain angel.

What's different about this grave was that it was had holy energy trapped inside of it, more specifically, the corpse inside it. When Lucifina died as a human, she thought she would have just died, but no. Due to the fact that she was an angel of the highest ranking, a seraph, as such when dies she would have released a ridiculous amount of holy energy to the surrounding. However, that did not happen and instead her holy energy stayed inside her human body, unable to escape the seal that she placed upon herself.

This holy energy has been tightly wrapping around her soul that should have long passed on into the afterlife, keeping it barely contain inside of it. Usually something like this wouldn't even be possible as holy energy of angels slowly dissipates into the air when they leave heaven, as such the holy energy of Lucifina would have long run out. However, this graveyard just so happens to be next to the temple which Ilias, the goddess of light visit once per year, because that there is always excess holy energy near the temple and by extension, the graveyard.

It was thanks to these circumstances that allowed the holy energy to preserve the soul of Lucifina, however that does not mean that this would last forever. Despite how well the soul is preserved by the holy energy, the lack of a body would still make the deterioration of the soul continue.

Suddenly, well off into the distance a star can be seen getting bigger and bigger before revealing itself to be a sword with a very grotesque design flying towards the graveyard at mark speed.

BOOOOOM

The shockwave of a massive explosion blowed the graveyard into rubbles and in the epicentre of the explosion, the sword with the grotesque design was stabbed directly into the grave of a certain angel.

Then a miracle happened. The sword, Angel Halo, when stabbed into the corpse within the tombstone, used its energy stealing ability and destroyed the seal that was on the corpse which was sealing the holy energy inside of it.

Holy energy began to leak out from the cracks of the tombstone, as it leaks out it begin to form a female humanoid silhouette, then it grew a pair of wings that were bigger than her body. Eventually the holy energy stopped shaping itself and an angel with the appearance of a young girl appeared.

"Where am I?" were the first words that the angel said in the last few years. Her memory was hazy, a result of the deterioration of her soul for all these years. Yet those that are important to her, crucial to her identity still stays.

"I am... Lucifina... A seraph of the goddess Ilias..." Lucifina mumbles still in a daze trying to figure out what was happening.

"No... I rebelled... then... I am... a mother...?" Suddenly Lucifina's eyes widen as she remembers the most important person of her life, her son.

"Luka... My son!" upon remembering the existence of her son, many memories flooded her head. From the moment she gave birth to him, to the time where she took him out for shopping, and all the way until she was on her deathbed where Luka was crying while she was trying to tell Luka that he would fine without her.

As she was going thought that particular memory, her eyes start becoming wet and tears start forming at corner of her eyes.

"Luka! Mama is coming home!" She shouted before flying towards the home of a purple haired boy.

"Wahh! you meanie! I just wanted some semen, you didn't have to beat me up!" A blue slime girl cried as she ran away from a young boy holding an iron sword.

"Haa... Haa... Haa..." The young boy panted, "I did it! I defeated my first opponent!"

A slime girl was spotted near my village, and I had chased her away without killing her. Something like this should be what a hero should do, especially if I want to be a hero for coexistence.

"Oh yeah my baptism"

Today was the day that I would receive my baptism and become an official hero before venturing out into the world. The baptism only happens once per person when they come of age, and it would be bad if I were to miss it. With that thought in mind, I started making my way back to the village, but suddenly.

BOOOOOOOM

The sound of a large impact reverberates around the area, shaking the ground

"That sounded like it was close by... What the heck?"

I then started walking towards where the sounds came from but then.

BOOOOOOOM

Another sound of explosion was heard from the direction of the village.

"That came from near the village, oh no I have to go back and check if everyone is alright!" I thoughted out loud as I quickly try to make my way back to the village.

With that the boy quickly returned to the village, completely unaware that if he had just walked a bit more into the forest, he would have found a certain blue skin Lamia.

"Huh everyone is alright?" I asked the temple guard.

"Yeah, everyone is alright. Infact we were planning to send a rescue team for you actually" The temple guard replied.

"But I heard a loud explosion?"

"Oh that, umm basically the graveyard exploded"

"...What?"

"Yeah... according to the priest at the temple it was as if the entire graveyard was hit by a meteor or something"

The graveyard has been destroyed by an explosion? How in the world does that even happened.

"Yeah, I know you might have some relatives body in that graveyard, but don't worry about it the priest of the temples will take care of it"

"I guess I can leave it to them..." I certainly hope my mother's grave wasn't destroyed.

"Oh yeah, don't you have a baptism to get to"

"Geh! Your right!" I quickly went into the temple after giving my thanks to the temple guard.

After I reached the interior of the temple, I was greeted by an elderly man. This elderly man was the head priest of the temple and I had known him for a very long time.

"Ahhh... Luka you were almost late for your baptism!"

"I am really sorry!" I quickly bowed and apologized, but before I could I continue with my reasons.

"There is no need to young man, I heard from the guards that you tried to fend off a monster from entering the village, as such surely Ilias would forgive such a heroic act."

"Oh! Thanks!".

After that interaction with the head priest, I quickly got ready for the baptism. However, to my horror after waiting for several minutes Ilias didn't show up...

"Perhaps the goddess is late, maybe we can wait a bit more" The head priest tried to cheer me up.

However, even after another 30min she still hasn't showed up and my heart begin to drop.

"I am sorry Luka... But I don't think she's coming..."

"No... it's fine head priest... It must have been my fault..." Perhaps I made the goddess angry by almost being late.

After a bit more waiting, I finally decided to leave the Ilias temple.

"Remember Luka, just because Ilias had not decided to baptise you, does not mean that she has forsaken you, as long as you have faith in her you will surely be rewarded." Was what the head priest told me before I left the temple. But could I truly still be a hero? Despite not being baptised? Can I still make my dream of coexistence with the monsters possible?

…No! I definitely still can achieve that dream, even if it's harder, even if I am not a true hero, I definitely can still achieve my dream of coexistence!

With my doubt cleared I quickly went back home to start packing my stuff for my journey.

As I approached the entrance of my house, I noticed something strange. The door to my house was opened wide, and I am sure that I closed it before leaving.

Could it be a burglar?

Something like this wasn't unheard of, but the village is a small community where everyone basically knows each other. Who would try to rob my house?

I quickly got into my living room and saw that everything was messed up, for some reasons there were white feathers all over the tables and chairs. Had a chicken broken in?

Suddenly, I heard rustling from the direction of my room. I quickly approached the entrance of the room, which had its door close. Before waiting outside the door well preparing for the confrontation.

"Stop right there, you burglar! I have a sword!" I shouted as I slammed the door open and pointed my sword at the figure standing in the middle of my bedroom.

Upon a closer look, the figure standing in the middle was a beautiful girl around my height wearing nothing but a bunch of ribbon that was covering her important parts, she also had a pair of snow-white wings that was larger than her body. But what shocked me the most was...

"Mom...?" I asked

The face of the girl in the middle of my room was the same as my mother who had died years ago.

Upon hearing my question she took a quick look at my face, before slamming her body right into mine, hugging me tightly.

"LUKA, MAMA IS BACK!" The young girl shouts as she hugs even more tightly.

"Wait...! Can't breathe...!" Luka manage to squeeze out.

"Huh?" but by the time Lucifina let go of her hug Luka already fainted from the lack of oxygen.

"Umm, oops." was the last thing Luka heard as his head blacked out.
