Bill And Ben enjoyed working- And causing mischief- in the docks. They like the sea air and the sound of the gulls. But one day, the friends were feeling hot and bothered. A crane was causing trouble. His name was Cranky and this was his first day at the docks.

"You're useless little bugs!" He called from above. "If you put these trucks on the inside lines then I wouldn't have so far to travel."

"Rubbish!" Called bill back. "This is how we arrange our trucks every time we work at the docks!"

"Like we ever work..." Snarked Ben.

"WELL I'M COMPLAINING NOW!" Said cranky, Banging down his load on the quay side.

later, the two engines met Edward and BoCo and told them about Cranky.

"Don't Worry" Said Edward. "He's probobly just trying to create a 'Good Workplace Atmosphere'".

"Edward's Right." Said BoCo. "You should see the situation from Cranky's point-of-view. He's high up in the air coping with wind, rain and baking sun. Then he looks down and sees you two playing tricks." Glared BoCo, Remembering the trick Bill And Ben Played on him when he was new to the island."

Cranky viewed what the big engines' words as agreeing with him- And im sorry to say he grew bossier still.

"Come on, come on." Cranky Growled "Push those trucks closer to me."

Ben decided to play a trick on Cranky- Pushing the Trucks further than what was needed. Then, Cranky was working with Bill. Bill decided to play a trick too, So when cranky told him to load up. He went onto the outside line.

"YOU KNEW MY CRANE ARM CAN'T REACH YOU THERE" Cranky Screetched. Bill just smiled "Oh, i was very aware." Replied Bill.

This mix-up caused confusion and delay. The Fat Controller was most upset

Bill And Ben, this new crane has an important job to do. I have heard that you not been helping him today. You will go to your sheds and consider how you improve yourselves tomorrow.

Now Bill And Ben were upset too. That evening, a big storm raged across the island. Cranky and Edward, BoCo, Arthur, Porter And Salty were trapped at the docks.

"We be sure to be safe in this here shed!" Said Salty.

But he was wrong. The engines had no idea they were about to be put in great danger by an old tramp steamer. It was out of control and running a ground straight into the sheds.

The Tramp Steamer went right through the shed- Collapsing it. And Into cranky. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaAAaAaAaAh!-" Screamed cranky, Falling to the ground.

"HEEEEELP" Called the engines inside the shed.

"I Can't..." Called Cranky pathetically

When the storm was over, The Fat Controller rushed to the scene of the destruction.

"Thomas and Percy will help you." He called to Cranky. "And then you can help the engines."

"Oh please hurry" Replied Cranky. "And Tell Them I'm sorry for being so rude to them!

"So they played tricks on you for a reason" Murmured The Fat Controller. "I owe those engines an apology."

Bill And Ben soon came to the rescue. And it wasn't too long before Cranky was upright again and clearing the wreckage. At last, all the engines were free."Oh, thank you." Said BoCo "What would I've done without you?"Well, I had to be rescued before I could help you. But I never thought it would be by a couple of, B-B...Cranky was about to say bugs, but he quickly corrected himself."Small Engines" thank you. I'll never be rude again. However, you two mites are in my way so move over."Pah!" Said Ben. "He's back to bugging us."
