Authors Notes- And look here I am back again with yet ANOTHER fanfic. This time feature a ship I see so little of and that is the BulkCee ship. Surely I'm not the only one that sees it am I? But before I get too caught up in my ramblings as I normally do I must add that I don't own Transformers that belongs to Hasbro. And merely own the plot. Now that we got that out of the way here is Chapter One of Lean On Me.
Chapter One: These Feelings Buried Deep
Arcee hated the quiet, she thought as she stared at the trees, blasters at the ready. As she and Bulkhead slowly and silently crept through one of Earths many jungles after getting a report of Decepticon activity in the area. And now, they were on the hunt, and beside her Bulkhead was grumbling about the humidity, his own blasters at the ready. However, as the two of them continued on Bulkhead cried out. Causing Arcee to whirl around, and couldn't help but laugh when she saw the wrecker struggling to get free of some vines.
"Bulkhead, Bulkhead, stop let me help you." Arcee said, as she transformed her hands back and helped, with some difficulty to get him untangled from the vines.
Bulkhead grunted in disgust as he glared at the vines. "I hate this place. "The wrecker growled, brushing off one of the vines off his shoulder before looking around. "Are we sure there are any 'Cons around? Are we sure Fowler and his men aren't wrong?" He asked her.
"Have they ever been wrong?" Arcee asked him, as she continued on.
"Well..." Bulkhead thought for a moment then shook his head, looking down at her. "No, but if they're here then where are they? My fists are itching for a fight."
Arcee offered Bulkhead a sympathetic smile before moving forward. As they continued on, her thoughts going to the bulky mech taking up the rear, occasionally grumbling to him. Lately Arcee had found her thoughts drifting to Bulkhead a lot. Something she had found odd, but as of late she found her feelings for the green wrecker changing over time. And she was no stranger to these feelings that formed in her chest plate. Blue optics narrowed, as a twig snapping somewhere jerked her from her thoughts. Then nothing. God, she wanted these blasted 'Cons to show up already. Then maybe, she wouldn't have to focus on these thoughts, theses feelings anymore.
She wanted, no needed to bury these feelings deep inside. Feelings she had thought she had buried deep down after Tailgate, and after Cliffjumper. And now these feelings, feelings she knew had absolutely no place in a warzone. She knew it would only end in heartache for her.
"'Cee?" Bulkhead's deep voice spoke, jerking her from her thoughts once more. His voice sending an unwanted shiver down her spinal strut.
Arcee looked to him, noting that his optics were narrowed. Had Bulkhead caught something while she was off in her own little world? Mentally kicking herself for her carelessness as she moved towards him.
"Somethings following us." Bulkhead growled, optics scanning the area around them.
Arcee opened her mouth to ask what he had sensed when-
"W-whoa!"
From behind Bulkhead they saw a small, all too familiar figure come tumbling towards them. Until it came to a stop a few feet from Bulkhead's feet. The two of them finding themselves staring down at Miko, of course. The girl muttered a small 'ow' as she picked herself up as Arcee bit back a curse, and Bulkhead groaned before stooping down to pick her up.
"Miko, what are you doing here?" Bulkhead asked, reaching up to gently brush the leaves and sticks from her hair.
"Isn't it obvious?" Arcee cut in, hands on her hips, optics glued on Miko.
"I wanted to see some 'Bot on 'Con action." Miko said with a shrug. "It's been boring at the base. So, I figured I'd tag along and snap some pics for the scrapbook." Miko said, as Arcee rolled her optics before looking to Bulkhead.
She was his partner after all. Bulkhead seemed to mull over it before looking to Arcee, looking sheepish. "I-I don't think it could hurt for her to tag along." He said.
Arcee sighed, she already knew when it came to Miko Bulkhead was a pushover sometimes. Shaking her head she turned away from the two, as Bulkhead placed Miko on his shoulder. As she took point once again Arcee wouldn't help but be glad that Optimus stuck her with Jack. She honestly didn't know what she would do if she had Miko as her charge. Hell, she often wondered how Bulkhead found the patience to deal with the spunky and somewhat careless girl who had an insatiable thirst for action.
She guessed that was one thing he seemed to have over Cliffjumper, who could be rather hot-headed. And why was she still thinking about him? Stop it! She silently chided herself, as she really forced herself to focus on the mission at hand, as she began to see signs of Decepticon activity.
"Finally," Arcee muttered, looking over her shoulder, getting Bulkhead's attention. As the larger Autobot moved to stand beside her, the corner of his mouth turning upwards.
"Finally, I was beginning to get bored." Bulkhead said, as the trio continued on.
"Finally," Miko added, slamming her fist into her open palm, a wide grin on her face. "I'm going to see some action."
Arcee sighed, rolling her optics once more, all the while secretly thankful for the distraction of a battle. Soon they came across a clearing where several Vehicons milled around, oblivious to the Autobot duo, as they gathered energon. And to make things better, for Bulkhead at least, Breakdown was the one supervising the whole several Vehicons offering them praise as they worked like dogs. Beside her Arcee noted the smile on Bulkhead's face plate. As he caught sight of his long time rival, as Miko seemed just as excited as her guardian. Taking a couple steps back the two Autobots turned to face each other, before they could go any further they needed to make sure that Miko was safe.
The girl let out an annoyed groan as she stepped down from Bulkhead's shoulder onto his open hand. As he placed her on a moss-covered tree branch.
"Stay put." Bulkhead told her, in a tone that brooked no room for argument, before moving past both Miko and Arcee.
Arcee watched as Bulkhead went on ahead before looking Miko. "Look at it this way, you got a birds eyes view of all the action." She told her, as Miko offered her a smile.
Not saying another word Arcee moved to join Bulkhead, as they transformed and charged into action. Bulkhead letting out a yell, as he transformed, fist slamming into a surprised Breakdown's face plate. While Arcee took out several of the charging Vehicons. Thoughts of the green wrecker going all out against the blue Decepticon gone from her head, sort of.
As every time Bulkhead landed a blow on Breakdown. Who had knocked over a Vehicon as he tried to keep his footing, only to have his foot crush the poor Vehicons head as Breakdown backed away. A thrill going through Arcee's body as she watched this, just as a Vehicon trooper lunged at her. A blast catching her in the side, making her cry out. Focus! She scolded herself, as she cut down the Vehicon. You're in the middle of a battle, there is no time to get careless, or for your feelings. Nodding to herself she shoved all unnecessary thoughts from her head. As she drove her foot into the face of another Vehicon, as Bulkhead and Breakdown continued to duke it out.
Unbeknownst to Arcee and Bulkhead that someone was watching them from the shadows...
Well, well, this is interesting. Airachnid thought, as the Decepticon femme watched Arcee from the shadows. Purples optics glowing, a faint smile on her lips. It would seem that Arcee has an interest in that brute. Her optics then went to where the green wrecker, whose name alluded her at the moment. The one who seemed to have history with Breakdown from what she recalled. A thrill going through Airachind's body at this. She never thought she would discover Arcee's weakness. But then again she never thought she'd stumble across Arcee on Earth. But no matter for Airachnid was going to enjoy tormenting Arcee, was going to enjoy breaking her, by taking away everything she held dear.
Nodding, Airachnid was silent as she turned to the scene once more, watching with disgust as Breakdown dropped to the ground. Energon spilling down his face plate, sparks shooting from various cracks in his armor. Making Airachnid roll her optics. Pitiful. She thought as she commed for a ground bridge, while seeing no point in dealing with her arch enemy right at this moment. Airachnid told herself as she looked over her shoulder at the blue femme. Not when she had found a new way to torment her.
Oh, this was going to be fun. And maybe she would convince that big lug, Breakdown to join in the fun. With that thought disappeared into the shadows . Enjoy your time with you friend, Arcee. She thought darkly. For things will change soon...
"Woohoo!" Miko cheered, as she hopped up and down on the tree branch Bulkhead had left her on.
Bulkhead reaching out to catch her when she nearly slipped off said branch. A small, exhausted smile on Bulkhead's lip plates as he looked down at Arcee. Noting the various scrapes and burns, followed by the nasty looking wound in her side. Energon spilling from between her fingers. Pain etched on her face plate.
A look on concern etched on his as she pitched forward into his out stretched arms.
"Ratchet," Bulkhead spoke, walking away from the scene behind him. "We need a ground bridge, and Arcee is hurt." As Bulkhead said he pulled Arcee close.
All the while ignoring the flutter in his fuel pump as he did so. Not now, he thought with a growl as the ground bridge opened up. Not here. He thought, shoving thoughts of the beautiful femme that was in his arms from his mind, as they stepped through the ground bridge.
Though little did either of them know that things would soon get a little more complicated...
Authors Notes- And here is the first chapter of Lean On Me. Sorry, it's not super great, and sorry it seems to be everywhere, and sorry Arcee seems a little OOC. But never less I hope you liked it. And this is The Exhausted Writer signing off.
