Luna woke up, noticing Lucy sleeping on the floor. Luna had tearstains on her face.
Luna gets Lucy on the bed and tries to clean her up. She eventually cleans her and goes into her own bathroom. She stared into her mirror for an hour.
"I'm on today's roster…but I have no kart. Luke destroyed it." Luna sniffed.
"Lana…" Lucy says, a bit tired.
"Yeah, I can get Lana to help." Luna says.
"No. I already texted her. She's been working all night." Lucy says.
"Thanks anyway, Lucy, but I can't win." Luna sighed. To top it all off, it was March 31st. Luna's 14th birthday.
"Happy birthday." Lucy says.
"Thanks…" Luna says.
Later, Jubileena gives her a ride to the track. She could see Luna was sad.
"I can't believe Luke did that to me…" Luna sniffed.
Meanwhile, Lynn Sr. opened the garage to see Lincoln, Lisa, and Lana snoring on Luna's kart. It looked like new.
Lana stirred from her sleep. "Ugh, I feel so tired…" She said.
"Yeah, me, too." Lincoln says.
"So, when can I see Luna?" Lynn Sr. asked.
"Honey, let Lisa sleep. She's earned her rest." Rita says as the two of them head to the kitchen.
"Wait, Luna's morning races start soon! Lisa, wake up!" Lana says giving Lisa a wet Willie as Lisa yelled out.
"Geez…this is the thanks I get for adding a music cannon…" Lisa groaned.
They soon arrive in Sugar Rush. Luna was sitting in her fan stand with her Sour Patch Kid fans.
"Luke hurt me…" Luna sniffed.
"Happy birthday, Luna!" They say as Luna was shocked to see a new kart.
"My Sour Power Speedster! You guys!" Luna gasped with surprise.
Lucy hugged Lincoln.
"I really wanna try and um…" Lana says, holding her hat.
"What is it?" Luna asked.
"Racing." Lana says.
"The arcade opens in 5 minutes, but maybe we can do a little race during my lunch break, okay?" Luna says.
Lana smiles and hugs Luna.
With Luke, he felt guilty for hurting his love. He knows Luna didn't deserve to be hurt. And he was the one who caused all that. He wondered how he could make it up to her. He decided to prepare a party when the arcade closes for the day. He knew he had to face her at the track, however, so he headed there.
He sees Luna. Luna saw him and teared up.
"Luna, I'm sorry. Really." Luke says. "I honestly shouldn't have used my powers. I hurt you badly and really damaged your kart. Next time, I'll race fairly."
Luna thinks. She then smiles at Luke.
"I'll forgive you on one condition." Luna says.
"Anything! Just name it!" Luke says.
"I want Lana to stay here." Luna says.
"Consider it done." Luke says.
Lana thinks. "I can't leave Lola. If I'm coming to stay, then Lola comes, too." She says.
"Anything you say." Luke says. "Consider it done."
Meanwhile, Lola was taking a shower as Lori waited, annoyed.
"Lola, you've been in there for 2 hours." Rita says.
After another hour, Lola came out.
Soon, the arcade opens. Luke kept the twins out of sight during the gamer-controlled races.
During the lunch break, Luna raced with Lana before going to have a birthday lunch with Jubileena and Taffyta. She sighed and knew Luke forgot her birthday. Taffyta held Luna's hand as Jubileena offered a tissue and a crying shoulder.
"Do you think he actually hates me?" Luna sniffed.
"No, I know he will remember. He loves you a lot." Taffyta says.
"You and Luke are practically inseparable sometimes." Jubileena says.
"I know. I just thought that he would've at least remembered my birthday…" Luna sniffed.
Luke was making a gift for Luna as Lola did her hair. Luke felt bad and just plain guilty.
Later, Luna was polishing her kart as the other racers just hung around until it was roster race time. Registration took place just minutes after the arcade closed.
Lana signed up. Luke just sat in his royal box, feeling guilty.
Lucy comforted Luke as he watched Luna. Luna cries after polishing her kart.
Lana helped Luna tune up her kart.
"Thanks, Lana." Luna sighed and went off to get ready for the race.
"This is going to be great!" Lana says, excited.
Later, at race time…
"Ladies and gentlemen, tonight is a special night." Luke says. "As it is Luna's 14th birthday today!"
Luna forced herself to smile as her fans cheered for her.
The race was starting as Lana giggled. She was excited.
The race soon began as Lana took the lead. Luna was getting sick of losing. She just thinks it's hopeless because she'll never get her achievement.
She pulled over, upset.
"Luna, you can do this." Lincoln says.
"I'll never get my 100-race achievement…" Luna says sadly.
Lana drove back. "Come on, Luna!" Lana says.
"Okay…" Luna says as they drove together on her kart as it seemed they were teaming up.
They raced together. Luna's face wasn't breaking into a smile, however. As the race went into Sour Patch Soundstage, Luna's signature track, Luna raced her hardest.
Luke was ahead as Lana and Luna tossed a syrup bomb and a Gummi-Bear-It-All at Luke.
Luke growled, but knew he would lose Luna if he hurt her.
Soon, it was the final lap and Lana and Luna were racing for first. Luke used an ice cream cannon on Lana. Luna shut her eyes as she crossed the finish line in first place.
Lincoln cheered for her. So did the fans .
Luna's picture appeared on the jumbotron along with the words "Congratulations to Luna Sour-Shock on getting the Candypocalypse achievement! 100 roster races in first place!" in purple letters.
Luna opened her eyes as she stood on the first place podium. She was presented with a very fancy trophy as she smiled.
"Nice job!" Lynn says.
"Thanks…" Luna says. "Luce, thanks for being there for me and getting the others to repair my kart. It means a lot."
"You're welcome." Lucy says.
Luna carried her big trophy home after putting her kart in her garage.
"Nice job, my love." Luke says.
"Thanks." Luna says.
"Are you mad at me?" Luke asked Luna.
"You forgot about today, other than at the race…" Luna sniffed. "I thought you knew about today! I bet you didn't plan to celebrate!"
"I did." Luke says.
"Prove it." Luna says.
He goes to the party he set up with Luna in tow. The lights turned on as everyone shouted "Happy 14th Birthday, Luna!" and "Congratulations!" as colorful confetti fell around her.
"Oh, my goodness…" Luna sniffed. "This is unbelievable…"
There were balloons, decorations, all kinds of food, and gifts. Luna was still surprised.
"Congratulations, Luna." Lana says.
"Thank you." Luna says.
Soon, the party begins as Luna dances with Luke.
Luke spins her around as she smiles.
"You're wonderful, Lukey…" Luna says.
"I know." Luke says.
It was now time for gifts. Luna opens Lincoln's gift first, receiving a new set of racing goggles.
"Thanks, bro." Luna says as she hugged Lincoln. She opened Lana's gift next.
It was her guitar. Luna was in awe as she held it.
"Thank you, Lana." Luna says.
"No problem." Lana says.
After that, Lola was eating.
Luna looked around at the party, wondering why Luke hadn't given his gift yet. Luke soon revealed his gift.
"Oh, a bouquet of purple lollipops. How tempting…yet practical. Thanks." Luna says.
"You're welcome." Luke says.
Luna went out to get some air.
"Why did you have to be cheap when it came to her gift?" Gloyd asked Luke.
Luke admitted he never planned for any of his siblings to be here.
Luna felt angry. She knew Luke was being cheap on purpose.
Leni comforts her.
"Does he even love me like he says he does?!" Luna sobbed against Leni.
Lucy froze. Part of her wanted to take Luke for herself. She saw Lynn spying on Luke as her face was red. Lucy frowned and decided to give up.
With Luke, he looked at the ring in his jacket pocket and didn't know if Luna would say yes to him.
Luke goes up to perform a song for Luna. Luna looks up at him.
He performed "Can't Help Falling In Love" by Elvis Presley as Luna smiled again.
He soon finished as he got on one knee and took out a box as Luna gasped with surprise.
"Luna Sour-Shock, you really light up my life. You shock me in a good way, and I love you more than words can say. So, I want to ask you…will you marry me?" Luke asked, holding out a beautiful golden ring with orange, green, and red jewels on it that encircle the diamond in the middle of it.
"Oh, Luke! Yes! Of course I'll marry you!" Luna says, accepting the ring and kissing Luke. Everyone cheered for the newly engaged couple.
Lucy forced a smile as Luke and Luna danced together.
"I'm going home." she says. She knew she lost Luke forever. She then walked off.
Later they play some games and have a few fun races where Luna and Luke watch Lana race.
"Woo-hoo!" Lana says.
Soon, it was cake time. But Luna had left the house. Luan sees this.
"Luna! Where are you going? It's cake time now!" She says.
"I'm not ready for that right now, Luan." Luna says. "Luke just wants to rush my day so he can get his attention back. I think he lied about celebrating my birthday and my big achievement. If he wants to find me, I'll be at Tapper's, performing for the patrons." And with that, Luna gathered her guitar up, loaded it in her kart, and drove off.
Luan came back to the party, where everyone was waiting for the guest of honor.
"She isn't coming back home tonight. Because of you, Luke." Luan says. "You need to think of her for once, and not yourself! Because if you don't do something to make her feel special, then you just might lose your fiancée to someone who will appreciate her."
Luke looks down. He goes to find her. She was on the stage at Tapper's, performing. She was good, and many of the bar patrons loved to watch her perform.
Luna sees Luke and decides to play another song.
"Ladies and gentlemen of Tapper's, I got engaged tonight. But now I'm considering calling it off, because the guy I'm engaged to only thinks of himself." Luna says. "This song is for him."
She then performed "Wrong Again" by Martina McBride. The arcade bar patrons then looked at Luke, who looked ashamed.
Luke tears up. "Luna, I really want to celebrate you…I'm sorry!" Luke sobbed.
Luna thinks about this.
"So, you're actually gonna let me enjoy my party for once? And you won't rush things?" Luna asked.
He nodded. And he brought the party to Tapper's.
They had some fun for a bit as Luna ordered the bar a double round of root beer.
Lucy drinks some. She groaned, not liking it. Lana had 7 mugs of root beer.
Lola had some sweet lemonade, going on a sugar high.
Then Luke and Luna sang a duet together on stage, much to everyone's delight.
Luna smiled as the crowd cheered.
Soon, Luna was ready for cake. Luke smiled and brought out two cakes. One for her 14th birthday, which was shaped like her kart. And the second cake was star-shaped and it was for her achievement. She smiled when all of Tapper's burst into song, just for her.
She then thought of her wish. She wished that she and Luke would have a happy life together before blowing out all 14 candles on her kart cake.
After the party, Luna and Luke stood outside Game Central Station, smiling at each other.
"I had a great birthday and I won my 100th race! It was a great day!" Luna says.
"I'm glad you're happy." Luke says with a smile.
"The best part about today? Getting engaged to the love of my life." Luna says as she kisses Luke. She and Luke then walk back to the Sugar Rush game, hand-in-hand.
