Welcome back again everyone for out next Guest in the Hollow Night. This time, we'll be seeing how Selvaria Bles from SEGA's JRPG Series Valkyria Chronicles handles things in the Hollow Night.

I will explain why I chose Shana, Shizuo, Akira and Selvaria for the first four chapters by the end of this chapter. Additionally, Johann A.K.A Oswald the Iron (or Karl as he's known in the Japanese Version) from the 'Behind Her Blue Flame' DLC will be in the story too. Now than, let's see how The Azure Witch goes through her own quest.

Appearance: Sevaria wears a black military uniform with red highlights and gold accessories. She has a sheath for her Saber on her hip and wears healed boots. Her striking physical features include her long silver hair and her piercing red eyes.

Intro: Selvaria's back is turned to the camera as she points her lance at the opponent before she turns to face them.

Round Loss: She gets up onto one knee while planting her lance into the ground with her shield slightly raised up.

Time Over Loss: She turns away from her opponent before slamming the tip of her lance into the ground, breaking part of the ground.

Vs. Eltnum: "You seem to know about the future of my world... Tell me everything you know! I will use that knowledge to ensure Lord Maximilian's victory!

Vs. Selvaria (Mirror Match): "Another scion to the Valkyrur? This world and my own world has no need for two. GET OUT!"

Hyde: "You're kidding me!? I'm facing down a General with giant boobs and a big lance! You sure you're not trying to compensate for something?"

Linne: "Soldiers like you are too straight laced. However, your powers as a fabled Valkyria are concerning... Sorry, but your time has come."

Waldstein: "Your power was truly something, but it would appear that my EXS Powers are far more powerful the flames of a Valkyria!"

Seth: "For a Valkyria, you've gotten careless around the likes of me. This battlefield will now become your grave, a fate befitting a soldier such as you."

Gordeau: "Well, you certainly put up a good fight, with your lance matching my scythe and all. Regardless, Valkyria or not, I'm not gonna let a soldier lady show me up anytime soon."

Wagner: "Valkyria? Don't make me laugh! Your flames barely singed my clothes, let alone burn me! You should go back to boot camp, "General"."

Hilda: "I hadn't had a work out like that in a long time. Maybe you should reconsider working for me instead of this "Maximilian" guy? You'll have a better life for one thing..."

Nanase: "Wow... You're really gorgeous! Not to mention that you're a high ranking military official. I envy the guy who has eyes for you!"

Akatsuki: "I always thought the Valkyria were just a myth... To be able to fight one who's also high in the ranks of the military adds a lot of worth to your title as "The Azure Witch".

Eltnum: "I really pity you. Just take this as a warning; ditch that Maximilian jerk and join up with Squad 7 instead. Believe me, it's for your own good."

Super Attacks

EXS Attack - Special Gun: "Ruhm": Puts her lance and shield down momentarily and uses her specialized machine gun, Ruhm, to fire a fast paced flurry of bullets at the opponent. If the opponent gets hit without blocking, they be sent flying at the end of the attack. Selvaria than hands Ruhm to Johann, who than takes her gun out of the fight while she picks up her Valkyrian weapons.

Infinite Worth - War Dance of the Valkyria: Selvaria charges toward her opponent. If she connects, she proceeds to teleport and attack from multiple angles, slowly bringing her opponent into the air. The final strike brings Selvaria back to the ground and with a swing of her lance, the broken pieces of Earth around her and her airborne opponent launches into the sky.

Infinite Worth EXS - Flash Line: Once the Flash Field connects, Selvaria than proceeds to uppercut her opponent into the aky with her shield. She than teleports into the air herself and after a close up of Selvaria charging of the beam in her lance, proceeds to fire a giant beam from below her up into the side of an abandoned, broken down building, causing an explosive trail to rise up and blow up the deserted building along with the opponent. Selvaria than lands on the ground while her opponent crashes down.

Secret Infinite Worth EXS - Final Flame of Fate: A secret super attack that can only be activated under certain conditions, however it is disabled in Selvaria's Arcade Mode for Story reasons. If it's a match point for both Selvaria and her opponent, press all three attack buttons and the EXS button with a full EXS Super Meter as soon as you been knocked out. This will than prompt Selvaria's body to rise into the air and a 10 second countdown will appear. The opponent needs to drain the half of Selvaria's HP that's restored to prevent the Final Falme of Fate. If the opponent succeeds, Selvaria will be KO'd and the opponent wins. If they fail to drain her HP when the countdown ends, a giant unblockable Flash Field will fly across the stage, hitting the opponent no matter what they do. After that, a giant blue aura will envelope the stage and after a close up of Selvaria's face with a single tear sliding down her face, the screen turns blue, with it fading to an overview of Kanzakai, which the middle of the city is than engulfed by a giant blue colored explosion. The last thing shown is a giant crater where the stage used to be, with only Selvaria's lance planted in the ground and Johann, having survived the blast, solemnly saluting his fallen commander. No Result Screen will be shown as while Selvaria's victory is claimed, the Azure Witch has killed herself along with her opponent.

Unique Traits

Chip Damage: Both Regular and Special Attacks done with Selvaria's lance will cause chip dame like Hyde's sword. However, regular attacks from Selvaria kicking will not cause Chip Damage.

Hilda Arcade Story Interaction

*Hilda has arrived at a new location where she is confronted by a woman with silver hair and red eyes carrying a massive lance*

Selvaria: "You there, halt!"

HIlda: "Well now, what do we have here? Some military cosplayer trying to compensate for something with that huge rod?"

Selvaria: "Cosplayer? I don't know what you are referring too, but if this is some strange form of insult in this strange land, I don't find it amusing."

Hilda: "Hmmm, it doesn't seem like you get what I'm saying. Than who exactly are you?"

Selvaria: "I am Selvaria Bles, Brigadier General of the Imperial Alliance's Drei Stern, who are tasked with overseeing the invasion of Gallia. I am in service of His Grace, Lord Maximilian."

Hilda: "Ooookay. So, you ARE a real general than? It doesn't look like you in the right place or time even."

Selvaria: "Apparently so, yet the legend of the Valkyria is known here. As soon as the people know as "In-Births" deduced what I am, they proceeded to either apprehend or kill me."

Hilda: "Valkyria!? The ancient warriors of legend!? But that could have only have happened nearly a 100 years ago! What year is it in your time!?"

Selvaria: "...1935."

Hilda: "No way! That would explain why you are walking around the Hollow Night! Well, I should consider myself lucky! Having to go face to face with the legendary Valkyria themselves!"

Selvaria: "You should watch yourself in my presence, otherwise this place will drink deeply of your blood!"

"Tell me how I return to my world, now."

Hilda: "Sorry to tell you this, but this is the end of the road for you. Prepare to be sent to Valhalla!"

Selvaria: "Johann, stand by and prepare to engage the enemy. This won't take long..."

*The scene transitions to the fight*

Sevaria Bles Arcade Mode

Prologue [Location: Shrine of the Protector]

Selvaria: "Ugh... w-where am I? What is this place?"

*Selvaria than notices an unconscious Imperial Soldier in a red scout elite armor. She recognized the soldier that accompanied her to investigate something that Maximilian discovered in place of Radi Jeager*

Selvaria: "Johann! Get it together!"

Johann: "Ugh... General? Where are we?"

Selvaria: "I am not certain of where we are at. This doesn't appear to be Gallia. That strange structure we were investigating appears to have sent us to a completely different location."

Selvaria: "Curse that Jeager! He said he had a bad feeling about that structure, so he asked His Grace to send me in his place!"

Johann: "General, if I may!"

Selvaria: "Permission to speak granted."

Johann: "In all due respect, I don't think getting mad will solve this problem!"

"If anything, we should make the most of this situation to see what this place entails."

"We can continue to investigate while searching for a way back to Gallia, General Bles!"

Selvaria: "Hmmm, you do have a point. It's a good thing Lord Maximilian allowed me to take my Valkyrian Lance and Shield with me in case something like this happened."

Johann: "Yes! And don't forget that I have your specialized gun, the Ruhm, on standby in case you need it and I have a steady supply of Ragnade to heal you."

Selvaria: "Very good. Even though you're no longer an Engineer, you always look out for me."

"Johann, we head out immediately! We will uncover the mysteries of this place and we will return alive to out comrades!"

Johann: "Yes, Sir!"

*Selvaria and Johann leave the area as the 1st stage, with the first randomized opponent, loads up*

Stage 3

Vs. Vatista [Location: Sleeping Fountain Plaza]

*Selvaria and Johann both arrive at a beautiful fountain in the middle of a plaza*

Johann: "Well General, it would appear that we are NOT in Gallia anymore."

Selvaria: "Indeed. These people possess supernatural powers, not unlike a Valkyria. This could pose a problem in general."

"On one hand, if we propose an alliance with these mysterious warriors..."

Johann: "They could help us win the war with Gallia. But on the other hand..."

Selvaria: "They could be very detrimental to Lord Maximilian's efforts just as well. We need more information."

*Selvaria and Johann both see a girl with white hair and six red wings floating around by the fountain*

Johann: "General! A-are you seeing this!?"

Selvaria: "Y-yes. It's a little girl with wings..."

"Wait, she's heading over this way. Johann, at attention!"

Vatista: "..."

Selvaria and Johann: "..."

Vatista: "Non In-Births detected. No appropriate responses of what to do are found."

Selvaria: (To herself) 'In-Birth? Is that what these people are referred as?'

Selvaria: (To Vatista) "Excuse me, little girl, might I pose a couple of questions?"

Vatista: "If I can answer them, please do so."

Johann: (To himself) 'Whoa! She's very compliant!'

Selvaria: "First of all, are you and everyone in this city known as an In-Birth?"

Vatista: "To answer this query, only a select few people are known as In-Births. I am not an In-Birth, I am an Autonomic Nerve, Unit 10,076, code named Vatista. It is my job to pacify In-Births located in this city, which is known as Kanzakai."

Selvaria: "So, you are a unique kind of warrior than?"

Vatista: "If that assumption pleases you. However, based on my records, you appear to resemble the legendary Valkyria, a race of ancient warriors long thought extinct."

Selvaria: "Extinct!? What do you mean?"

Vatista: "The last known sighting of a Valkyria was implied to have occurred in the year 1935, but there are theories that it only occurred in an alternate reality, but the theory of parallel worlds have yet to be proven officially."

Johann: "Parallel worlds? This just got weird..."

Selvaria: "Yes, it has. Well, Vatista was it? I appreciate your time, for that I must thank you."

Vatista: "However..."

Selvaria: "However?"

Vatista: "If you are a Valkyria, I cannot allow you to wander free in the Hollow Night. You may not be an In-Birth, but I must incapacitate you under the orders of my master."

Johann: "Wait, wait, wait! After all that, you're going to attack the General!?"

Selvaria: "I suppose it can't be helped, my powers could be seen as a risk here. Very well, I'll take you on."

"I have no intention of being captured here, but I'll make sure to go easy on you as thanks for the information."

*The scene transitions to the fight*

Stage 6

Vs. Yuzuriha [Location: Abandoned Building]

*Selvaria and Johann arrive at an abandoned and broken down building, where they come face to face with a young woman wearing a haori jacket over her shoulders*

Yuzuriha: "Alright you two! Stop where you are!"

Johann: "W-who are you to give orders to the General like that!?"

Selvaria: "At ease, Johann."

Johann: "Yes sir!"

Selvaria: "Now than, is there a reason you stand in our path?"

Yuzuriha: "Well, the fact you're carrying a giant lance sets off one alarm for one reason, but the fact that you and your buddy is causing all this ruckus even though you two aren't In-Births is a cause for concern."

Selvaria: "I see. Forgive, but you don't appear to look like the local authorities?"

Yuzuriha: "Oh, I'm not with the police! I'm a Shrine Maiden, a guardian of the Hollow Night. It's my job to stop people like you from reeking havoc here.

Johann: "Shine Maiden? No offense ma'am, while I don't know what that is, you don't look the part."

Yuzuriha: "What was that?"

Johann: "N-nothing!"

Yuzuriha: "Anyway, I suggest you two leave this place at once or things are going to get rough."

Selvaria: "Believe me, we would return to where we came from, but we don't know how we arrived here to begin with."

Yuzuriha: "What are you trying to say? You guys are from a different country of something? Regardless, foreigners or not, I'm not gonna let you two do what you want here, got it!?"

Johann: "Please, let's just be reasonable here."

Yuzuriha: "Look, it's either leaving the Hollow Night or I'm going to have to kick both of your asses out of here myself!"

Selvaria: "Well, you appear to take your duties seriously. I can respect your dedication at least."

However, I don't appreciate that tone you're using with us. You should know better than to incur the fury of a Valkyria."

Yuzuriha: "Valkyria? I don't know what that is, but if it's a new type of In-Birth, I'm not scared! Alright Ayame, let's send this broad and her lackey packing!"

Selvaria: "A long sword? Simple, but effective. Unfortunately for you, it won't be enough."

*The scene transitions to the fight*

Stage 9

Vs. Chaos [Location: Riverside Plaza]

*Selvaria and Johann arrive at Riverside area, with a new view of the river. The two are trying to come up with their next move*

Selvaria: "So far, we just keep running into random battles. This is getting us nowhere."

Johann: "General, if I may, I managed to get some information out of the last enemy we fought against."

Selvaria: "Very good Johann. What did they say?"

Johann: "Apparently, these people, the "In-Births", are headed toward a specific building in particular, where the leader of a group called "Amnesia" is residing at."

"They call her "Paradox". Apparently her plan is to use something called the "Gate to the Abyss" to attain immortality as something called a Re-Birth."

Selvaria: "Immortality, you say? This "Paradox" is certainly ambitious to try to achieve the impossible. But considering all that we've seen, it sounds possible after all."

"Plus, this Gate may be the key to returning to our world. Johann, we will head to this area at once!"

Chaos: "Apologies, but I'm afraid that won't be possible."

Selvaria: "Another "In-Birth", I presume?"

Chaos: "Yes, I am called Chaos. You could say I'm an organizer in Amnesia. You see, when I overheard your soldier there talking about my boss, I couldn't just pretend to turn a deaf eat to that."

Selvaria: "So your serve under "Paradox" than? You're awfully brave to come out here like you did."

Chaos: "Normally, I try to avoid fighting if I can, especially with a legendary warrior like the Valkyria. I mean, your power can potentially wipe out an army of In-Births without even trying."

"However, let's just say I'm not thrilled about her using the Gate, but rest assured that me and my friend will handle it."

Selvaria: "Turning against your superior!? What reason do you have in telling me this!?"

Chaos: "For one, Paradox is become drunk off the flow of EXS, the source of out powers here, and if she attempted to open the Gate, she'll most likely become a Void, the exact opposite of what she wants."

"She may be a bitch, but we don't want our boss becoming a monster."

Selvaria: "Rebellion for the sake of your leader? While I don't approve of mutiny, I can understand your motives."

Johann: "Um, I'm guessing that's not the only reason you're here, Mr. Chaos?"

Chaos: "You can drop the "Mr." part. Outside of the reasons I mentioned, I am curious about the Valkyria in question. To meet with the ancient warrior of legend in the flesh is a treat."

"A thorough study of your powers could prove beneficial to our cause. You and your underling have the mental capabilities to explain and show everything in great detail."

Johann: "General, is he complementing our intellect?"

Selvaria: "Indeed he is. However, we don't have the time to entertain his curiosity. If this Gate is the threat to the Empire, we must head on over immediately!"

Chaos: "That's too bad. I really was looking forward to talking more with you, but as I said, I can't let your near Paradox. I may try to avoid fighting, but I can insure you that Azhi Dahaka's claws and fangs will tear you asunder."

Johann: "General, he just summoned some kind of giant lizard monster!"

Selvaria: "There's no need for fear my comrade, for we will show him and that beast what we can do!"

"Prepare yourself Chaos! You will bear witness to the strength of the Valkyrur!"

Chaos: "Very well, this will be a battle of wits and strength then!"

*The scene transitions to the fight*

Final Stage

Vs. Hilda [Location: Altar of Light and Dark]

*Selvaria and Johann, who is armed with his gun, enter the room where the Gate of the Abyss is awaiting them*

Johann: "Well, it looks like we found the "Gate of the Abyss" sir."

Selvaria: "Indeed."

Johann: "General, if you don't mind me asking, wouldn't this prove beneficial to Lord Maximilian?"

"If he becomes immortal..."

Selvaria: "I am well aware of the benefits, but remember what Chaos said about what could happen to his commander."

Johann: "She could turn into a monster called a "Void"..."

Selvaria: "His Grace told me 'I leave this matter to you. Do what you must.'. I believe he would want something like this, but I'm beginning to have doubts about this Gate."

*Hilda than appears before the two*

Hilda: "Than it's a good thing no one but me will use this, for immortality is mine and mine alone."

*Johann aims his gun at Hilda cautiously*

Johann: "W-who are you!?"

Hilda: "I am Hilda, leader of Amnesia little soldier boy."

"This must be the Valkyria I heard about."

Selvaria: "It seems I have made an impact on this place already. You must be the infamous Paradox that Chaos mentioned."

Hilda: "Chaos?"

Johann: "You needn't worry about him. He's unconscious, but he's alive."

"As for how we know about you and your goal, I interrogated an In-Birth the General faced before our encounter with Chaos. Your organizer confirmed the info for us."

Hilda: "I see. He worries too much for I won't become a Void. However, I did plan on discipling him or anyone else in my group who tries to halt the ritual."

Selvaria: "It would appear you have been intoxicated with your power, it seems. What would immortality do for you?"

Hilda: "What would you know? With the power of a Re-Birth, I will crush both the Night Blade and the Licht Kries. Than the Hollow Night will belong to Amnesia forever!"

Selvaria: "You're afraid of death, aren't you?"

Hilda: "I am afraid of nothing! It's YOU who should be afraid for you are second rate, Valkyria!"

Johann: "The General has faced worse than you, Paradox!"

"We put our lives on the line fighting for what we believe in and if we die, than at least we go down fighting for what we believe in. There's worth."

Selvaria: (To herself) 'You've really come a long way from when we first met.'

'You make a valid point in regards to our fallen comrades.'

(To Hilda) "You are wrong about one thing Paradox."

"We have no fear in regards to you, for you are just a mad woman obsessed with power and is afraid of their own mortality."

Hilda: "Don't get cocky just because you're a Valkyria! I hope your ready to die in battle like a good soldier!"

Johann: "General, just say the word!"

Selvaria: "Very well, Johann! Prepare to engage the enemy!"

"As for you Paradox, prepare to witness the power of the Valkyria's flame."

*The scene transitions to the final fight*

Aftermath

[Location: Altar of Light and Dark]

*Hilda is struggling to get up after Selvaria just thoroughly defeated her*

Hilda: "Ugh! N-NO! How could I lose to a monster like this!?"

Johann: "You better watch what you say about the General!"

Selvaria: "Restraint Johann."

"Now Paradox, I assume that if we destroy the Gate, you're plans will be foiled?"

Hilda: "If you do, I'll be sure to hunt you down until you beg for mercy!"

Selvaria: "Somehow, I doubt we'll ever meet again."

"Besides, I'm not just doing this for His Grace, but for the inhabitants of this land as well."

*The screen turns white as Selvaria destroys the Gate to the Abyss with a beam attack, ending the Hollow Night and after the flash fades, Selvaria and Johann have mysteriously vanished*

Hilda: "W-what? Where did they go!? So my vengeance has also been stolen from me!?"

Ending

[Location: Mysterious Ruins]

*Selvaria wakes up to find herself back at the strange structure that she and Johann were investigating*

Selvaria: "Ugh... w-where am I? What is this place?"

"T-this is the structure I was sent to investigate!"

*She than notices Johann unconscious*

Selvaria: "Johann, wake up! We're back!"

Johann: "Ugh... General? What did you say? We're back?"

Selvaria: "Indeed. It would appear that destroying that Gate somehow sent us back to our world."

"Who would have thought that this strange relic would have sent us to another world?"

Johann: "General?"

Selvaria: "Yes."

Johann: "Before you destroyed the Gate, you said you weren't just doing it for Lord Maximilian, but for the people of that place too. Did you mean that?"

Selvaria: "Of course. I... don't understand myself, but I felt that was the right thing to do. However, considering that was our way home, it wouldn't have done any good to Lord Maximilian to begin with."

"Besides, you are correct Johann."

Johann: "About what, sir?"

Selvaria: "About how our lives have meaning until our death. All of our comrades who met their end fighting against both Gallia and the Federation, I'm sure they fought knowing what the risk was and did so for our country."

"Becoming immortal... would dishonor them."

Johann: "I see. How are we going to report this to Lord Maximilian?"

Selvaria: "It's best that we request this be destroyed. The power of the Valkyrur should be more than enough for our cause. The knowledge of that world will be between us until our end comes, understood?"

Johann: "Yes, sir!"

*Selvaria is sitting next to Maximilian and Jeager at the War Room as Johann stands at Selvaria's side*

Johann: (To himself) 'It really surprised me that the General, who has such strong loyalties to Lord Maximilian, chose to withhold this information about the Hollow Night from him, all because of what I said to Paradox.'

'Regardless, it was a choice that General made for herself. While she always looked out for us, this is the first time she protected another place that isn't related to the Empire.'

'I was always proud to serve under her, but that choice alone made feel more assured to be under her command.'

'I don't know how long I have until my time comes, but until then, I'll continue to fight and keep her company, to ensure she's never alone, like I always have.'

'It's true that many people, Gallia included, may see her as villain. In my eyes however, both the many In-Births she saved from Paradox's evil schemes...'

'...And I, with no doubt, see her... as a hero.'

*The credits role as "One Wish" plays*

And that concludes Selvaria's trip through the Hollow Night. I apologize if Selvaria is Out of Character toward the end here. I needed a way to justify why Selvaria would stop Hilda's plans and destroy the Gate with Maximilian getting a hold of it.

As for Johann/Karl, I think it makes sense to include him sense Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax mentions him in some of Selvaria's win quotes. Plus, sptheir relationship is based off the "Behind Her Blue Flame" DLC, which shows a more caring and 'heroic' side to Selvaria through Johann's eyes.

Lastly, I know "One Wish" is primarily a song told through the main heroine, Alicia Melchiott, but it could fit Selvaria in a tragic way compared to the hopeful way with Alicia. It sucks that Selvaria feel in love with an a$ like Maximilian.

Now, as for why I chose Shana, Shizuo, Akira and Selvaria first for this. Simple, French Bread made the in-Game sprites and game for Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax. Yes, simple, but it makes sense considering that French Bread made and own Under Night In-Birth. So, it would be easy to incorporate those characters.

While Shana and Shziuo are my favorite characters from the game, I also chose Akira and Selvaria sense they're guest characters in a Light Novel crossover game. Plus it would add some game characters in here too.

Now with the first four done, we can now start diving into other characters, so I hope you'll all be looking forward to the next selection of characters. Which we'll start next time with the Overlord of the Netherworld. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
