It's been a while now, but we're back to Guests in the Hollow Night. As you can tell, a sequel to the game has been announced and surprisingly, Eltnum and Akatsuki will still be playable in the sequel, which is cool!
Anyway, our next character is requested by The Disquieting One. Our next Guest in the Hollow Night is Raven, a half-demon and a super heroine from the crime fighting heroes, The Teen Titans.
I remember seeing the cartoon adaptaion when I was little and out of the five main characters, Robin was the only one I knew about. The series was my first exposure to Cyborg, Starfire, Beast Boy and Raven. Despite all of that, I ended up enjoying these characters with their own unique quirks and personalities.
Innregards to Raven, she is the "emo" goth girl of the group. Cold, distant, mostly emotionless, yet has genuine care and fondness for her team, even when they (mostly Cyborg and Beast Boy) annoy her. She even had time in the spolight as she's the Main Character of Season 4 when her parentage came to light and while she ended the world because of her evil father, she also saved it by protecting her friends and they were able to give Raven the strength to defeat Trigon and overcome her cursed destiny.
While not my favorite Titan, Raven is still a good character. So what brings our half-demon heroine into the Hollow Night? We'll find out right now.
Also, while Teen Titans DOES have a Japanese Dub, Raven will use her English Voice actor to keep her in character, especially sense the series finale movie took place in Tokyo. Speaking of which, this takes place after the Teen Titans Trouble in Tokyo movie. Now than, on with the show!

Her cloak is decorated with a round, crimson jewel (similar to a brooch), which helps keep the cloak shut.

Intro 1: A black portal forms on the ground with Raven slowly emerging from it. As soon as the portal vanishes, Raven gets into her fighting stance.
Intro 2: Raven slowly descends from the sky with her back turned to the opponent. She turns her head to her opponent before turning to face them.

Vs. Londrekia: "Your powers over the cold don't give me pause, but I must admit your abilities are very strong. Who do you intend to face with that much power?"
Vs. Hilda: "Paradox, your wicked schemes end here. You can either come quietly or unconscious. Your choice."
Vs. Eltnum: "How do you know so much about my world and my life? What... I can't make psychic contact with you? How is this possible?"
Vs. Akatsuki: "You sort of remind me of my teamate, Cyborg. Only you're more straight laced and serious compared to him. I dread to think what would happen of you two met..."

Orie: "I didn't think I'd meet one of the famous Teen Titans on this night! I must say, all five of you are great examples to follow! I must ask though out of curiosity... how does your magic even work?"
Gordeau: "New tricks, but it would appear your magic didn't pack the punch I heard about. Maybe next time, you should bring your teammates. That'll be one brawl of a lifetime!"
Vatista: "Azarath. Searching database. Results unknown. I must ask why you always say this particular word whenever you chat your spells."
Merkava: "To think one you Super Heroes would show even a beast like myself sympathy. I wouldn't count on your spells restoring my human form, but in the end, you have my gratitude."
Nanase: "I must say it was pretty tough deciding between you and Starfire as a potential idol for women. After fighting you, I'd say you're both great role models for women everywhere!"
Londrekia: "Magic, telekinesis, energy projection, levitation, empathy and teleportation. These skills no doubt make you the Teen Titans ace in the hole. Therefore, might I ask to test my mettle against the rest your team in the future sometime?"
Hilda: "My my, that's one foul bird out of commission. Your pathetic little slight of hand was no match for me. Now then, how to get the rest of your team over here?"
Eltnum: "It's interesting to see you out of all the Teen Titans here on this Night. Normally Robin or Starfire would be top choices, but you got a pretty good track record all things considered. Especially sense the three of you were in that Gods Among Us fiasco."
Akatsuki: "That was a good battle from one of the Teen Titans. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't there a geokinesis user named Terra in your group? I don't know much, but I heard there were six of you."
Super Attacks
EXS Attack - Shadow Beam: Raven channels her soul self and fires a full-screen black bolt beam toward her opponent. Raven can activate this in the air as well, but she fires the beam in a diagonal arc instead.
Infinite Worth - Shadow Slash: Raven channels her soul self and sends three sharp black blades across the screen.
Infinite Worth EXS - Power of Azarath: Once the Flash Field connects, Raven uses her telekinesis to hold her opponent in place. She than picks up different objects from off-screen and sends all of them flying toward the opponent in a barrage style attack. Than with a chat of "Azarath! Metrion! ZINTHOS!", Raven transforms into a giant shadow form of her namsake before charging the opponent and ramming them, sending them flying off as Raven turns back to her normal form.
Unique Traits
Levitation: Like Merkava, Raven can hover in the air for a few seconds after jumping.
Air Dash: Using her powers, Raven can Air Dash after a jump. She can Air Dash forward and backward, even when using flight.
Hilda Arcade Story Interaction
*Hilda is walking around as part of area turns black in front of her*
Hilda: "What the? Someone trying to block my way now?"
*A girl in a blue cloak appears before Hilda, intending to stop her*
Raven: "Those dark emotions and ambition. You must be Hilda The Paradox, leader of Amnesia. Am I right?"
Hilda: "Well now, my reputation must be spreading if you know thay must about me, although my ambition isn't dark like you say."
Raven: "You say that, but I know what you're really after and I won't let that happen."
Hilda: "I'm curious what you have against me, considering we never met."
Raven: "Have you ever heard of the Teen Titans?"
Hilda: "Teen Titans...?"
"Oh! That group of goody-good super heroes! Now that you mentioned it, you're that hooded emo girl constantly "grabbing" things with those dark powers of yours! A bit far from home, aren't we?"
Raven: "I asked Robin to check out the area ahead of time considering the Hollow Night is not something anyone can handle, but I didn't expect to run into the infamous leader of Amnesia so soon."
"Next to the Crimson Knight, you definitely caused a lot of trouble. Either you can surrender quietly or I will force you into submission!"
Hilda: "Hmmm... how about instead I defeat you and use your failure to lure your teammates to me?"
Raven: "Wrong answer. Don't say I didn't warn you."
Hilda: "I say I made the right choice! Prepare to sucumb to true darkness my filthy little birdy!"
*The scene transitions to the fight*
Raven Arcade Story
Prologue [Location: Skyscraper's Rooftop]
*Raven descends on the rooftop of a building in Kanzakai*
Raven: "So this is Kanzakai? Funny that this place isn't on any of the maps we own, but thanks to the Hollow Night occurring I was able to track this place down."
"It was strange getting precognition about this place during a dream one night. I had to do what I can to convince Robin to let me check this city out."
"Speaking of which..."
*Raven activates her communicator to contact her team leader, Robin*
"This is Raven. Robin, do you read me?"
Robin: "This is Robin, coming in. Have you reached this Kazakai you had visons of?"
Raven: "Yes, I have arrived in the town I mentioned. It's currently producing a lot of strange energy and it's flowing continuously. I don't know if the you and the others would be able to withstand this place."
Robin: "Raven, we've been through much worse, you know?"
Raven: "I know, but we know too little right now. I'm going to take the chance to find out what we're dealing with first. Once I've gotten enough information, I will contact you again."
Robin: "All right, but don't do anything too reckless, okay? In the meantime, I'll get everyone else ready and we'll be on standby."
"One more thing, if anyone tries to fight you, just incapacitate them and if they're doing anything that's breaking the law, make sure to bind them so we can bring them in."
Raven: "Understood. Talk to you soon."
*Raven hangs up and focuses her attention on the city below her*
Raven: "Alright. Now to find out what this Hollow Night is all about..."
*Raven leaves the area as the 1st stage, with the first randomized opponent, loads up*
Stage 3
Vs. Seth [Location: Art Museum of Light and Water]
*Raven arrives in front of an Art Museum to take note of the two opponents she fought moments ago*
Raven: "That strange power I sensed, it was coming off of those two people I defended myself against moments ago. So that means they're able to harness that power in a manner no different than those like myself. But what does it all mean?"
"Huh!? Who goes there!?"
*Seth arrives from his hiding spot to confront*
Seth: "So you're the hooded girl that's been causing a stir just recently? You must have a keen eye if you were able to sense where I was hiding."
Raven: "With that kind of cold hostile intent, it's rather hard to NOT notice you sneaking around following me."
"And on that note, you're another one of the people who can harness the power in this city. What exactly are you?"
Seth: "You came into this Night without knowing about EXS and In-Births? Either you're really brave or just plain reckless. Maybe even both."
Raven: "Normally, I would have studied up, but there's little to no info. So you are one of these In-Births who can use this EXS, am I right?"
Seth: "That's what I just said... and now that I'm getting a good look at you, you're Raven of the Teen Titans, correct?"
Raven: "You know me and my team?"
Seth: "That incident in Tokyo. News of it reached it's way here and needless to say, to accomplish that much without any EXS Abilities is... impressive."
"However, if you're here, than it's only a matter of time before the rest of your team arrives and I can't afford that. So, you can either leave or this place will become your grave."
Raven: "So, you intend to destory me? I didn't think a high school student like yourself would harbor such hostility without a shred of bloodlust. It's like you're an assassin."
Seth: "That's because I am. Since you're not on my client's hit list, that's why I'm giving you the choice."
Raven: "Now I'm not going to turn around now. Not just because I'm on a mission, but because I won't let murderers like you run free."
Seth: "How unfortunate, looks like the Teen Titans will be down a member. Don't say I didn't warn you."
*The scene transitions to the fight*
Stage 6
Vs. Vatista [Location: Cafeteria of Movies]
*Raven teleports into into a cafeteria with TV screens as she surveys the area in question*
Raven: "Seems like the further I go, the more intense this power, EXS, seems to get. At least now I know these people are known as In-Births. I better call Robin and tell him what I learned."
*Raven tries to call Robin, but gets nothing but static*
"Tch! Nothing. The signal must be off..."
*Vatista than appears before Raven*
Vatista: "I don't believe your device would work within the deepest parts of the Hollow Night."
Raven: (To herself) 'What the?! I didn't sense her coming my way!'
'Wait... she's different. Her powers are similar, but she's not like the other In-Births here.'
(To Vatista) "Who are you? Your powers are different for an In-Birth."
Vatista: "That is because I am not an In-Birth. I am an Autonomic Nerve, Unit Number 100076. My assigned name is Vatista. My duties are to oversee the Hollow Night."
Raven: "Autonomic Nerve? I don't know what that means but I take it means your not an ordinary person?"
Vatista: "Autonomic Nerves are created for the purpose of protecting the Hollow Night under the orders of our master. So I am not what you would call a human."
Raven: "You're an artificial life form?! Are there others like yourself?"
Vatista: "I detect two other units, yet I am unable to make contact with them. My purpose right now is to pacify In-Births and eliminate any Void I come across."
Raven: "Void? Who are they and... why would you eliminate them?"
Vatista: "Voids are former humans who don't become In-Births. They lose their humanity and consume EXS from other humans. Should they withstand the Void bite, they become In-Births. Otherwise, they become Voids and must be exterminated before they kill other humans."
Raven: "No..."
Vatista: "However, my directive currently to is destroy the Gate to the Abyss. An individual known as Paradox is seeking to become a Re-Birth and is thus disrupting the Hollow Night."
Raven: "Paradox? If she's causing trouble, then I must look into it."
Vatista: "Negative. While it is a mystery you can walk around this Night, it is too dangerous for you and I must recommend that you leave."
Raven: "I understand your following your creator's orders, but orders like that cross the line are not something I can obied by. So stand aside."
Vatista: "I mearly wish to spare you the darkness of this Night, yet you desire to start conflict in order to go further? I wish we had a peaceful resolution. Alas..."
Raven: "We can agree on that note at least..."
*The scene transitions to the fight*
Stage 9
Vs. Merkava [Location: Abandoned Building]
*Raven flies over to an abandoned and broken down building, still unable to get a signal to call Robin*
Raven: "Still can't make a connection with Robin at all. I even tried calling Starfire, Cyborg and Beast Boy. Seems like the closer I get to this "Gate", the worse the communication signal becomes."
"If it comes down to it, I may have no choice but to deal with this Paradox by myself..."
"Wha?!"
*Raven dodges the unseen assailant trying to attack her, who's revealed to be some humanoid like monster*
Raven: "What is this creature? Is this one of those Voids that Vatista mentioned? So, you lost your human form, haven't you?"
Merkava: "You understand my predicament even though you have little knowledge of the Hollow Night? Curious indeed."
Raven: "This sensation... you're using telepathy. Wait... that means you retain your conscience!"
Merkava: "Barely. As you can no doubt tell, my body has become nothing more than a beast and yet my mind still continues to function. All I can do now is fufill the hunger that drives this body forward. Especially sense your part human and part... demonic."
Raven: "You sense the other aspect of my heritage?"
Merkava: "Yes and quite frankly, the beast within is going mad over the possibility of tasting that unsual flesh."
Raven: "Hold on. If you can speak me with, does that mean there are others like you? Can the transformation be reversed? I know magic and I might be able to find something to cure you."
Merkava: "You would offer a beast like myself sympathy? To answer your questions, I do not know other Voids like myself. So far, I appear to be the only one with a human mind."
"As for your second question, I do not know of such of a thing. So far, the only possibility for me is death. Regardless of the continuing cycle of aggression, I refuse to let my life end, even if it means me consuming others. Surely a demonic creature like yourself understands."
Raven: "I can understand you desire to live, believe me. I... want to believe there's hope for you and other Voids. Forgive me, but I must restrain you before I pursue Paradox."
Merkava: "Even though you are of demonic origin, your kindness is no less human. Even if you fall by my fangs, do know what I am about to do is nothing personal."
Raven: "I know, but know that I will save you from the curse of the Hollow Night and yourself as well."
*The scene transitions to the fight*
Final Stage
Vs. Hilda [Location: Altar of Light and Dark]
*Raven is flying outside the building leading to Hilda's residence*
Raven: "It took a while, but the source of the EXS is coming from this place at a higher source than anywhere else. Hopefully the Calling Signal works."
*Raven activates the Calling Signal to summon the other Titans*
"Good. At least that works. Now... to deal with the one responsible for this mess."
*Raven then teleports inside the building to find herself standing before a Gate inside an Altar*
"So this the soure of the Hollow Night? Ugh... this pressure is intense! Why does this Paradox want to become a Re-Birth in spite of this insane power?!"
*Upon asking that, Hilda walks up in front of Raven*
Hilda: "Really now? You came all the way here without even knowing that much? At least have the decency to know what it is your dealing with."
Raven: "Paradox, I presume?"
Hilda: "Indeed, Hilda The Paradox, glorious leader of Amnesia and I have to admit, I didn't expect a girl with no EXS powers to get this far."
Raven: "Then I take you never heard of us? The Teen Titans I mean?"
Hilda: "Teen Titans...? Why does that sound familiar...?"
"Oh! That's right! You five are that group of teenage super heroes from America! What brings a foreigner like you over to our lovely country of Japan?"
Raven: "A strange dream I've been having. That's what convinced me to investigate things here. Now, why don't you tell me what your goal is?"
Hilda: "To liberate the Hollow Night from the restriction that Night Blade and Licht Kries put on every In-Birth in question. That's what Amnesia's goal is."
"As for something personal, I seek to become one of the immortal beings known as Re-Births once I have obtained the Insulator and open the Gate to the Abyss."
Raven: "In other words, nothing good at all."
Hilda: "Au contraire. With this, my organization will be able to obtain whatever it is their hearts desire and when I become a Re-Birth, no one will be able to restrict out freedom ever again. There's nothing wrong with that, is there?"
Raven: "It is when you intend to hurt other people for that! While freedom is respectable, we have laws and order for a reason. If you intend to destroy that foundation in regards to the Hollow Night and your own mortality, that makes you my enemy!"
Hilda: "Ah, that's a shame. I thought you'd understand considering that you're the odd one out among your team. Oh well, at least I'll get to brag about defeating one of you do-gooders once I meet the Insulator Boy and should your friends come deal with me, I'll take them down too."
Raven: "Just you try, witch."
*The scene transitions to the final fight*
Aftermath
[Location: Altar of Light and Dark]
*Raven is floating before Hilda, who is slowly losing consciousness*
Hilda: "What is... this power...? You're not... even human... aren't you...?"
*Hilda falls unconscious*
Raven: "..."
"It's true that part of me... is not human..."
"But that doesn't define who I am. Robin, Cyborg, Starfire and Beast Boy taught me that."
"I won't let my past or my heritage control me and I especially won't let your evil plans come to fruition!"
Raven: "Azarath! Metrion! ZINTHOS!"
*The screen turns white as Raven destroys the Gate to the Abyss, ending the Hollow Night*
Ending
[Location: Skyscraper's Rooftop]
*Raven flies back to the rooftop with an unconscious Seth, Merkava and Hilda in tow, just in time to meet up with Robin*
Robin: "Raven! Your okay!"
Raven: "Sorry for worrying you and the others. The Hollow Night made communications difficult, but I was able to root out the source of the problem."
Robin: "And those three with you...?"
Raven: "The woman is the culpret. She was trying to use the Hollow Night for her own plans. The young boy is an assassin, bizarre it may seem."
"And the monster... was a human who transformed into this state. If possible, I want to try and find a way to return him to his human form."
Robin: "I see. We'll make sure to find a nice jail cell to detain those two. As for the creature, we'll put him somewhere where he won't hurt anyone until he can be cured."
"Let's head back home after we drop these three off. You earned a good rest after tonight."
Raven: "Thanks Robin."
*Raven is then showing with Robin, Starfire, Cyborg and Beast Boy at their favorite Pizza Place, hanging out together*
Raven: (to herself) 'For the longest time, I thought that being alone was for the best.'
'That all changed when I met these guys, who became my dearest friends... and my family.'
'Even though I was the cause of the Earth's destruction, I spared my friends and that in turn allowed them to give me the strength to defeat Trigon and overcome my cursed destiny.'
'That is why I want to help the creature known as a Void recover his humanity and hopefully give the other Voids like him that chance.'
'In the meantime, I will continue to help other people alongside the Teen Titans.'
'After, this is not the end... but a new beginning.'
*The credits roll as "Teen Titans" plays*

With that, Raven has conquered the darkness of the Hollow Night with justice triumphant once more. I hope the story will be to The Disquieting One's liking.
Teen Titans is a classic show and is worth watching when given the opportunity and while Teen Titans Go! isn't like the original, it does have SOME good episodes worth checking out.
