Plot: Sequel to Scion of Sorcery: Having returned to the land of his birth, Harry Strange-Potter, Son of the Sorcerer Supreme, now has to contend with the strands of Destiny weaving a mysterious web around his future. And that's not the only 'Web' out to guide him, if only Harry would let them.

Author's Note: So, don't adjust your screens, don't think yourselves confused or being fooled.

Truly, my greatest achievement, and weirdest one too, Scion of Sorcery, now has a sequel; now, I know I've tried this on more than one occasion, only to come up short before I had a chance to get it off the ground, but, this time, after making a decision that I can already guess many of you won't like, I've come to realise that I can get back to the fun adventures of this amazing saga and see it to its endgame, puns fully intended.

So, true believers, enjoy…

Chapter 1: Storm's Coming

Raining.

Lately, it always seemed to be raining, not that Harry James Stephen Strange-Potter – or just plain Harry Strange for short, even though so many others preferred to dub him with the name of Potter – minded it, especially given the fact that it was Scotland, and it was the middle of autumn, and there was a bracing chill blowing in from off in the direction of the Atlantic Ocean, suggesting that winter was coming, as a wise man once wrote.

On top of that, given the fact that he'd spent a lot of time in New York City, where the word deluge didn't do their rainstorms justice – especially if and when a certain Thunderer, or a certain Weather Witch and her friends from Westchester came to town – as well as all his times training in Siberia, atop Everest, in the Arctic and even the Antarctic, the truth of it was that Harry wasn't all that bothered by the rain or the cold.

Then, on top of all those other fairly-legitimate reasons, there was the bigger reason, where Harry was concerned.

'Do you feel better now, little one?'

Opening his eyes as he savoured the feeling of the rain falling onto his skin, his robes and into his hair, Harry looked down with a mixture of a sad, if not positively-responding smile, as well as a feeling of contentment that filled his magically-powerful body as he saw Mana turn her head to look at him, while the two of them flew through the skies, his beautiful thunderbird familiar bearing him on her back in her fully-sized form, in order to give Harry a flying session she just knew he needed.

SoS

It was only a couple of hours since he and Neville had returned from Godric's Hollow, having had a long and intense chat with Sirius Black and Remus Lupin before Neville had been anointed as the Black Heir officially – at Harry's request to his godfather, and Neville's paternal guardian Sirius – and then, taking a Sling Portal, the two of them had returned to Hogwarts.

However, Harry wasn't quite as content as he had seemed when Sirius said his goodbyes, promising to visit over the holidays and even strike up a conversation and meet-and-greet with the two people who'd turned his pup into the gifted powerhouse he was.

Instead, Harry had been distant, somewhat withdrawn and, up to the point that Mana had insisted they fly together, while also refusing to take no for an answer, he'd been alone with his thoughts and brooding demons.

And with good reason.

SoS

As well as the spot where Harry had reunited with old family friends, Godric's Hollow had also been the place where Harry had finally laid his soul bare and spilled the beans to his Gryffindor friend, as well as his godfather and his Mother's old friends, as to what he was really doing in coming back to the shores and schooling found in Great Britain.

He had openly-confessed how it had little to nothing to do with the edict that had been laid down by the Archmage, Rameses Wulfgarden, nor did it have anything to do with his Father's agreement to send Harry back there so he could experience the same educational path that his Mother had known when she was his age.

As a result, Harry had also said his thanks, farewell and even a pre-emptive apology to those who'd laid down their own lives and so much more, just to try and protect him. And, from their sacrifices, he had emerged: Harry Strange, Son of the Sorcerer Supreme and the boy who was destined to be one of, if not, quite possibly, the most-powerful magic user on Earth.

However, even after baring his soul and confessing things he had never told anyone – not even his Dad, his familiar, or his adoptive Mum, Christine Strange – an unseen, but painfully-deep wound had opened up inside of Harry.

And, while the meeting-slash-reunion with his birth Mother, Lily, and adoptive Father, James Potter's old friends, Sirius Black and Remus Lupin, had been a lightener in the dark times that filled Harry's mind and heart – especially when Sirius confessed how someone in this ass-backwards magical community did know about Tony Stark, the Avengers and even believed that Doctor Strange's so-called criminal label, courtesy of the British bigots who claimed they were the best thing since sliced bread, was falsely-accused and given – it still left a festering, painful wound of slowly-rising darkness lodged inside of Harry's heart.

Fortunately, Neville seemed to pick up on this, as did Sirius, which was how, while Sirius and Remus took Neville to finalise some old business at Harry's request and agreement – namely Sirius, as Neville's guardian and Father figure, naming said boy as his Heir – Harry was left to his own devices until it was time for him to open a Sling Portal – much to Sirius' awe, as he'd only heard of such magic in rumours amongst the more open-minded members of the British Magical Community – and, along with Neville, he returned to Hogwarts.

However, much to his relief and even surprise, Harry found that he'd barely managed to walk up the hill from near Hagrid's hut, heading towards the school and, ideally, his dorm room in Slytherin before Mana, transforming from her regular small form to the full-sized thunderbird she truly was, had flown over him and, landing not far from him, she'd offered her back to him.

The rest, as they say, is history…

As Harry looked down at his faithful friend and magically-recognised-and-bound familiar, he sighed softly before he leaned down, resting his head against her damp, soft feathers before he stroked his fingers along her head.

"Thank you for this, girl; it's…it's helped…I don't even mind us flying through the rain."

'I am always going to be here for you, my precious Harry,' replied Mana, letting out a cry of apparent delight and warmth, before Harry smiled as he saw her beat her wings, conjuring up bolts of lightning that filled the air with light and wonder, though she also kept her attention focused on him as she told him, 'I know how much saying your final farewells to the past hurt you; I am just thankful that your parents' old nest-mates, as well as your honorary nest-mate, were able to provide some semblance of delight to you.'

"You can thank Sirius for that," laughed Harry softly, watching as Mana banked downwards, narrowing her wings so that she seemed to become a white arrow, flying down from out of the heavens themselves.

On her back, Harry wrapped his arms around her neck, letting the rush of wind wash over him, as well as the thrill of flying on her back and being able to open up to someone who would never judge him, before he went on. "When I made a remark about Uncle Tony being partially responsible for me being the way I am, Neville leapt to the rescue, figuratively-speaking, and tried to argue that I often said things he can't understand. But then, Sirius shot him down by saying how, finally, there was someone in this world that knows who he is."

'Finally!' exclaimed Mana, earning a soft chuckle from Harry as he gently stroked her feathers.

"That was my reaction too," drawled the Son of the Sorcerer Supreme, closing his eyes as he savoured the feeling of Mana's flight and the strength of the bond he shared with her, before he scoffed amusingly. "Mind you, I don't know how he knows about Uncle Tony, but, given where I was at that particular moment, I…I didn't let that argument be my main priority for the time being."

'And then you came back?'

"Well, after Sirius took me along with him to make Neville his heir, just like I said he should," explained Harry, toying with one of Mana's feathers before, as his friend touched down on the ground, Harry sighed again as he explained, "I know it was probably immature of me, Mana…"

'When has that ever been your problem?' drawled Mana, earning a soft laugh from Harry, before the thunderbird went on. 'You are the son of a man whom many claims is as pretentious and self-serving as you can get. Then, you've spent time in the company of Tricksters, Vain Genius-Billionaire-Playboy-Philanthropists…'

Harry made a jerking motion with his head as Mana pointed out this part, a look of mutual agreement, amusement and resignation on his face.

Mana, meanwhile, continued, 'And you have also been around those who are as big-kid-ish and free-spirited as can be; yes, when you choose to, little one, you can and do have a proud, even responsible spirit. But, more often than not, this…juvenile side of you is one that is your basic face.'

"It's nice to know that somebody gets me," drawled Harry, kissing Mana on her crown as he slid off her back.

A few seconds, as well as a flash of lightning later, Mana was her former, smaller size, which allowed her to prance by her human friend's side, where she slowly nuzzled Harry's fingers affectionately as she looked up to him. 'All will be well, little one…the Black man and the Lycanthrope do not expect you to be anything more or less than what you choose to be and, from what you told me while we were flying, it sounds like they heard your prayer to the Fallen Ones. However, I'm sure, if they were as close to your birth parents as your friend claimed, they may have already known the truth of your conception.'

Harry could only nod in response before he scoffed softly, "Maybe that's how they know Uncle Tony; after all, after Mum and Dad…I mean, Lily and James died, they both had ten years of me being kept at arms' length, raised by Dad in Kamar-Taj and, on occasion, the other Sanctums. So, maybe, while Dad was taking care of me, then maybe they did some research in all that time."

'Perhaps,' agreed Mana, giving Harry a soft nip on his fingertips before she looked up at him again, 'Next time you meet them, take me with you, little one. As your familiar, and the one chosen by the Mother to protect and guide you, I wish to see them for myself.'

"I will, girl…I promise…"

As Harry kissed Mana's brow again, the thunderbird let out a low cry before she added, 'Now then, you should probably get yourself inside, Harry Strange, before you catch your death of cold.'

"Yes, Mum!" drawled Harry, before he smiled as, with a wave of his hand, he dried his clothes, even as he ran up the hill and back into Hogwarts.

As he did so, however, Harry frowned as he looked back out over Hogwarts.

He didn't know why, but he suddenly had a weird feeling of ominous foreboding.

One that only seemed to be emphasised by Mana's thunderstorm and the dark emotions that still lingered beneath his apparently-relieved face.

So, the adventure begins anew and it looks like dark clouds may be gathering, but the skies seem brighter for Harry: however, is this just the calm before the storm, or could it even be the eye of the hurricane?

Also, what is the truth behind Sirius and Remus knowing about Tony and company, and how might this affect Harry's future?
