Hey guys I wanted to say thanks to you all for all the reviews and follows and favs! This is the first story I published and to be honest I was super nervous with posting it, so thanks for all the support!
Like I promised I am going to give a full description of magic and mana. I wanted to do this last chapter but I felt it would take up too much time/ space and ruin the flow of the story. I wanted to be done with the pre genin stuff as quick as possible because Ive read a few stories that focus too much on that and never get to Naruto's ninja career.
Mana/ magic:
Mana is life force energy flowing from, to and through all living beings, it is produced by the soul of a living being. It is the spiritual energy with out the psychical energy chakra uses. Mana is created in an origin point located in the heart known the "sol chamber." To cast a spell one must channel mana through the body, then manipulate the mana as accordance to the spell. This can be inside or outside ones own body as well as other peoples bodies or objects.
(ex if you want to Harden your skin you must channel the energy to the part of your skin you want to Harden and infuse the mana with your skin to Harden it.)
humans who use magic are generally called mages.
Channeling mana
there are multiple ways to help one channel mana such as:
0 chants word or incantations
0 hand signs, sign language and/or arm motions
0 dances and full body motion
0 writing / drawing runes and glyphs
Although it is possible to preform magic with out doing one of these it is and extreamly advanced technique. wands staffs or other conduits can help channel mana but still might need other ways of channeling to work at maximum efficiency.
Magic circles
In order to control and release more powerful and complex spells many use a magic circle. A magic circle (also called a spell sigil) is a almost paper thin circle with a symbol inside. This symbol can be a complex drawing or a simple shape.
A magic circle works as a focus point to release mana from in the form of a spell as well as a shield. Usually a magic circle covers a single type or grouping of magic (so if a person uses elemental magic and time/space magic they would make 2 different magic circles) some groups such as schools, clans, or tribes ect make a uniform symbol for their magic. Magic circles are formed during a ritual where a person draws their sigil and has it 'bonded' to them with a spell. Then the user can conjure a sigil out of energy to focus mana through. Doing so takes less energy then to make a fist out of your hand. A user can conjure as many as they want but maintaining them takes focus. Many magic users tattoo or otherwise imprint their spell sigils on their body to help maintain their sigil and have better control over their magic. While they are not strictly necessary, a magic circle make spell casting more versatile and easier.
Types of magic
Mana can be channeled by a living being to exhibit amazing feats such as:
many forms of psychokinesis
Enhanceing one's or another's physical strength agility and dexterity,
telekinetic abilities,
telepathic abilities
Illusion
Healing
Scrying
energy and elemental control,
Necromancy
Time and space manipulation
Summoning
Manipulating ones own body
Elemental magic
Elemental magic makes up the largest style of magic spells. By altering ones mana to take on the aspects of those elements they can manipulate or create these elements.
(I.e. if you want to create a fire ball you must first channel the energy inside of your body, then make it take on the aspect of fire. Then release it outside your body. In a ball projectile then fire)
One must be careful though if they do not control their mana properly they can suffer negative effects of their elements without the spell goin off (a fire spell failing can burn the user ect) you can be born (or in Naruto's case gifted mana) more attuned to one or two elements but can in theory learn all elemental magic.
Limitations and effects:
Magic cannot do anything however, it cannot create matter, or life from nothing (ex magic cant imitate wood release. While a mana user can manipulate trees, they either have to manipulate trees in the area or use seeds and grow the trees. With magic)
mana is more 'wild' then chakra. Mana leftover from spells can seep into plants and animals giving them advanced mobility and intelligence this is how yokai were first created. While rare, mana residue from spells can also infuse itself into objects or people giving it a 'will and spirt' of its own. This mostly happens to objects constantly used by mages but not always. There are also methods where one can do this intentionally.
there is no "Avada Kedavra" or one shot kill spell, just like there is no ultimate defense or barrier spell. given enough time and effort every attack can be blocked and every shield can be broken or subverted.
Magic will adapt the body of the user to acclimate to the style of magic used
(Ex. An ice style user after while will become immune to cold climates and weather.) however using a spell that changes a body part like making claws can permanently give the spell user said claws if they are not careful making daily activities inconvenient, And if a spell has a constant drain on mana (such a a magic eye that sees energy ect.) and the body permanently adapts to having it, they will also permanently have the mana drain. A way to counter this is to create a spell 'on' and 'off' state so the body can adapt and create the states in itself. (so the best way to create and use a magic eye spell would be create the spell with an off/on state, have the spell start in the off state, cast it, turn on the eyes, use as necessary, turn off the eyes when done, dispel spell. Rinse repeat.)
In contrast to chakra magic is more versatile than ninjutsu in the fact that there is no bloodline limits, any element or ability (such as a dojutsu or kimimarus bones.) can be used by anyone who can learn how to do or recreate it. however, any alterations or to ones body, or natural affinities can be passed down. (ex if a person recreated the sharingan with magic and uses it to the point their eyes permanently adapt to the sharingan their kids CAN but not always will be born with it. or if a person has an affinity for fire magic their kid most likely will as well.)
magic adaptations (like eyes) also don't evolve with out intention (so if you create the base sharingan with magic you only get the base sharingan not the mangekyo, you have to create a spell with the mangekyo)

Thanks! This was an I got this idea when danzo said he never trained any root agent in the anime like that was perfect for a subversion and takeover of the organization. I wasn't able to explore this idea in detail this story but I might do a oneshot on it or an omake later on.
