Ding, "Have a good day, and remember don't drink the tea too fast or the healing effects won't work." Vix waved to the leaving customer before turning to face Mistake as she walked out of the back of the store.
"There's no need to be so annoyingly nice to the customers, they're here for tea and we're here for money we don't need to be their friends." Vix shook her head, smiling at the elderly woman, "Maybe I enjoy making their day a bit brighter. Besides, a friendly atmosphere keeps them coming back. It's good for business."
Mistake chuckled, "Well, I'm just here for the paycheck, not to make friends. But hey, if your charm keeps the customers coming back, I won't complain. Now head home, I have a couple of personal things to take care of so we're closing up shop early."
When Vix arrived at the little cottage she shared with Mistake their hope of collapsing into bed was crushed by the amonus presence of an intruder. Although it didn't take long for her to realize that it was someone she knew so her nerves quickly disappeared. Vix raised an eyebrow, spotting the familiar face. "Well, look who decided to drop by unannounced. What brings you here?"
"Unfortunately it's not anything good," the 'intruder' replied, the green streak in his hair shining in the late afternoon sun.
Vix leaned against the doorway, curious. "Spill it then, Morro. What's the not-so-good news you're carrying with that dramatic entrance?" Stepping out of the window frame Morro walked over to the couch, jestering for Vix to join him. They sat in silence for a minute while Morro contemplated the best way to break the news to his girlfriend.
Morro sighed, breaking the silence, "I'm leaving. Trust me I don't want to but I have to prove myself, prove that I'm good enough to be The Green Ninja. And I don't want to hear any of this 'it's not meant to be' crap, I know Wu is holding out on me." Vix stared at their boyfriend, a blank expression on their face as they mulled over what Morro had said.
"There's no stopping you, is there? Fine but you have to promise that you will come back," Vix said, looking up at the ceiling.
"Alright, but only if you promise to watch over Azami," Morro replied, referring to Vix's best friend and his adopted sister.
Vix sighed, nodding in agreement. "Deal. Take care out there, Morro. And don't make me regret letting you go chase your destiny."
Morro gave a small smile, appreciating Vix's understanding. "I'll be back before you know it. Just keep the tea shop running smoothly without me, okay?" Jokingly shoving Vix knowing that whenever he stopped by he made things worse.
With that, Morro stood up, gave a quick embrace to Vix, and left the cottage. Vix watched him go, a mix of worry and support in her eyes, knowing somewhere deep inside that this was just the beginning of something bigger. As Morro left, Vix couldn't shake the bittersweet feeling settling in her chest. She sighed, glancing around the cottage that now felt emptier. "Take care, Morro," she whispered, a silent wish carried away by the wind.
It had been a couple of months since Morro had left and thanks to the business of the tea shop and keeping an eye on Azami, Vix hadn't really had time to think about it, and honestly she had started to think he wasn't ever coming back. Of course, she wasn't going to say anything for the sake of Azami but the thought still lingered.
Azami barreled into the tea shop pulling Vix out of her thoughts, an amused smile making itself visible only to completely disappear when a small burst of wind blew through signaling to the two occupants that the holder of said element had passed and would not be returning home to them.
