Episode Ignis: Search for Ignis.
Home sweet home...
The boys leap in sync on solid ground, examining their surroundings. The trio expect heavy guarded stronghold, but exiting was vast of emptiness. No guards, snipers, MT or...well actually no one. Sky turns upside down, dusk of everlasting. Daemons soar across, shrieking in terror.
Dear Astrals, rubbles, ashes of remains, echo of dead silence... not a soul in sight. Darkness in every corner, what was left of people clothing, in which case they turned into daemons, how unfortunate tragic or punishment they go. Crates and broken glass shattered, what a mess, probably fleeing in a hurry.
It's a case of their Emperor fell, what Ravus had inform. Which is obvious the collapse of the empire with no Emperor Iedolas.
"Lights up."
Prompto shook his head to snap out of his thought. "Oh, right." Click his switch on, illuminating as they scurry deep within.
Noctis was leading, well he got no clue but it was the only path, to the metal stairs up a wide open metal door. Better hustle before those flying daemons swipe them off their feet.
Prompto sighed faintly so the others wouldn't hear it. Examining the area, the corrupted place of war with Insomnia. This place, gifting him the shivers of reminder where he—
I'm a Lucian...
Not from here. I need to save Iggy. No matter what.
Prompto releases a mental shake and focuses on trailing Noctis. They're on a mission. Despite he hated the place, refuse to set foot, but he did. He did it for his friend was captured by Imperials and Chancellor.
The place was dim, flickering lights, defective LED, and piles of clothing laid on the cold concrete floor. Noctis stepped on to them carelessly, his soles grind against the fine fabric of Imperial attire. But Gladiolus spotted the clothing with charcoal ashes as trailing his prince.
"Someone's streaking in here?"
"Don't think so," Prompto replied to his friend, hustling with the silent prince.
The daemons resurface from dust into living creature created by plasmaodium malariae. Noctis exercise his legs regardless the enemies spawned. Apparently, multiple Imps hissed at humans and positioned to attack the incoming beings. Snarling and staggering at the boys.
"Outta my way!" Noctis yelled, summoned his engine Blade and warp strike the first attack. First strike. No hesitation, pretty much a race against time in his grasp. Teeth clenching and grip of his engine blade tightened.
Gladio followed behind, realizing his ruthless start. "Stop being reckless!" he snapped while slamming his claymore to the ground, causing to grow a huge crack, eliminated two in progress.
"Noct, chill!" Prompto agreed, these Imps are more than an obstacle to them, recoil his Death Penalty as he sidestep to avoid being hit by Imp's claw attack. Shot one. These Imps are slippery and...skinny and gross.
But for Noctis, not the slightest word came to mind, only act, came to him as he slashed the Imps, every last of them, dwindling into nothingness. Eliminated six in several swings and assalt with warps. That taken care of... goodness, he wanted to attempt homicide. Taking heavy breath, he scowl to himself and notice another path—on the other side of massive gap of void. The structure above rhombus shaped in the air.
The King's Shield approach dismisses his claymore and clutches Noctis' shoulder, flung him to eye contact unceremoniously. Eyes forward with a heavy stare of anger. "If you're going to send yourself into the grave, then get your head out of your asshole and get a grip!"
"We need to get there, or it'll be too late. I don't have time for this!" Noctis deflected, shrugging his hand off his left shoulder. His face was vexed; fear and frustration.
"You have a calling to fulfill, and yet you run. People risk their life for your Highness, and you're not completing your duty! The Crystal is important before the scourge engulfs our world!" Amicitia force Noctis a few steps behind by pushing him slightly.
Noct didn't appreciate his tone. He stepped forward, resting his palm on his chest, expression look irate and scowled. "Calling? I don't give a damn about it, fate or not! Ignis is in danger!"
Gladio snorted. His muscle on his face starting to create wrinkles of stern. "So you want to perish and everyone you cared into daemons?! We are in our enemy fortress with no blueprints or knowledge, and you're charging to a dead end! So-called King we worship."
The tank knew Noct was stressing. He needs to understand that this is the first step. Unfortunately. He must test if he manages to carry the load. A King must move forward, an opportunity to not let it pass. The Crystal can purge the scourge, what was believed to do so. He need to look for the crystal, as he thought it's wise if him and Prompto search for Ignis and split up.
If Noctis isn't reckless to throw away his life, that is.
"Hey enough, you gu—" Prompto tried to diffuse the situation, but Gladio harshly pushed him, nearly losing his balance. His strength is unbelievably inhuman, but for his safety, he didn't, of course. Just a tad warning, it was between them. Prompto regains his stance and saddened.
The raven-haired boy watched his friend tried to diffuse the situation. The quarrels between them. He couldn't afford to lose his closest friend, so he stared deeply to the Shield's eye, his breath was harsh as he yelled.
"I get it!" Noct snapped, but he's right. They are in new territory. Usually, Ignis decipher the area well by posts and checkpoints. With him, the guys execute their mission successfully. With a burden on his shoulder, losing Luna is one trigger aggressiveness, he have to save Ignis... The Crystal, too. He needs to remind himself that his friends are here for him.
Especially Gladiolus trying to adjust his goal as a king. Life or death, people sacrifice their life for the king and pay his life for others... is what destiny foretold. And so prestige to new dawn of his heroic salvation.
A prince must move forward, and never looking back.
"I get it..." he repeated lowly. He cursed to himself low as inaudible.
"Hmph." Curt replied from Gladio.
Took a deep breath and exhaled, stuttering breaths and met his eyes to his comrades. A resignation and determination. "Save Iggy, get the ring from him, then I'll find the Crystal by myself. I will be as King, no matter what lies the road ahead of me. I will claim my throne." he complied.
Gladio shook his head, breathed out, and tense his body. "Hell no, we go together. Whether you like it or not."
Spoken like a True King. Gladiolus thought.
"And yes," Gladio resumes. "we need to prevent Iggy from harvesting the ring power. I want to beat Iggy's ass as much as you do."
In conclusion, in his heart, he adores his friends. Not into sappy or feeling expressed, remain vigilant, that's his strength. Yet, he is a gentle giant. It's crucial for Noct have to fulfill his calling. Either he waste valuable time and trouble to spare the advisor live. Friends since childhood, working with Ignis was a pleasure and meeting Prompto along the way.
You better be standing when we get there, Iggy. Gladio thought.
Noct glanced to the floor, regaining his composure. Taking deep breaths. His fists loosen from heated and frustration to placate by his friend load.
"...Yeah, I—." Caelum lowers his head, dubious at certain wording. It was definitely not his thing on gooey, sappy, and feelings. He stumbled upon his word a few pauses. His retainers—friends, even brothers to him. Thanks to Amicitia, it boosted his a young prince, about 5, his feelings became dull as people died around him—a daemon appeared and slaughtered in front of him, blood and lifeless. They died for the prince. Noctis stubborn practice of muted and numbness of his own burden grew in him until he met people alongside him. As they all stand by him until the familiar day.
A muted and emotionless prince was put aside when he met Luna, who brought smiles and light to the eternal darkness of his heart.
Gladiolus has always been there. As a guard, a shield, a brother. Amicitia blood traits and bestowed a role as a shield. Who trained Noctis and sworn an oath for his life to Noctis. An older brother.
Prompto was a shy person he ever met. Despite the petite connection, he considered too Royal for him, vanishing until high school. That was when Prompto accepted him as a friend rather than royalty regards. They were best friends. Joking around. Witty on both ends. His personality is smiles on everyone.
And Ignis...
He met Ignis when Noctis was six years old. The first person who serves and built strong connection over the years. One who is always glued to his side, advising him, watching over him. A first friend, a first handshake. A smile upon both of them.
And so, he was thankful of all his close friends. "... Thanks. C'mon, it's best to move forward."
That made Gladio let out a faint smile.
Prompto stood silently, irrelevant lecture to the king. Well, at least they made amends, surprised, his buddy admitted that he enjoyed their hospitality. Of course, they promise King Regis to be there for him. As the two settled, Prompto decided to analyze the area in a slow pace. Who knows if the floor collapsed under his feet.
Yet Prompto felt sadness in his heart. Noct is going to ascend as hell unleashed. Based on information, he gathered from Cosmology. Is this how he wanted to witness the farewell ranting on another companion? Plus, this place weighs down his spirit—the worst room of all. The heart of destruction and war. The creation of Magitek and...
The blond sighed quietly, focusing on the objective. Mental note is why they're here. Avert his friends growling at each other, urge to be relevant and—oh, how fortunate he saw a glimpse of radio resting on top of the shelf.
"Hey, uh... I found a radio. Maybe we will find out what happened to this place." Prompto spoke up, alarmed.
The two glance to Prompto direction, information, and clues can help. Put aside their difference and headed to Prompto position.
Click.
'This is the Imperial Security Bureau: A situation has arisen in several research sectors. All civilians must relocate to their designated refuge station immediately. Failure to evacuate will result in incarceration or other appropriate disciplinary procedure.' The radio repeat.
"Wonder what happened," Noctis said, becoming persistent of waiting and clues. Approaching Prompto and crossing his arms around his chest. Waiting, great.
"Experiment gone wrong?" Gladio tentatively answered, glancing a storage room. Wait, there's a passage. A good lead, he would assume.
"Whatever it is, I don't like the sound of it." Argentum concurred with the guys.
Yeah... another of failure experiment... created here.
No, no, no. I'm not one of them.
Prompto sighed faintly so his friends won't hear again. No, not that it matters. One day, he will share his true feelings, but while it lasts for Noct, Crystal is calling him.
...This is probably the last time sided with Noct, pleading unveiling his secret of origin.
Certain this would be quite bad timing but...Maybe one day, he will share the load with him and the others. Whatever happened to his friends, he hoped to walk tall with them, alive.
One day.
Save Iggy first.
"You alright?" Noct interrupted his blondie friend, ponder, walking towards him with gentle rest on his shoulder.
Argentum nods once to reply. Mental note, Let's talk another time, vowed to himself. A soft sigh escaped his lips once more. Get his endgame going. There is a friend who needs help. He let out a faint smile. A smile of invitation to remain cheerful with his friend.
Noctis peered the room, staring across the debris. There's a building. He can warp there but can not abort his friends. He refuse to leave his friends. Prompto turned off the radio and had enough with recurrent broadcast. Gladio, on the other hand...
"Hey, this could be a way. If there's storage, an entrance to the building." He pointed out, echo fill his monotone voice. The room was a hot mess, cabinet on the floor, freshly made debris, voided of life, dimmed and unsettling lights.
Noctis took the lead, wavering ahead through the lighting hallway while his friends were tailing him. The boys got to hurry. Across is narrow was embellish of similar walls and symbols. The boys are not aware of Ignis' location. Every turn and gaping passage was only vast emptiness. Break room, dorm, small section for storage. Narrow hallway, not appealing decor, crates, dormitories, and hallways.
More. Hallways.
Definitely something missing here.
Arriving to probably 5 layer sheet of metal door with bars. Seems a way to across, but it was locked from the inside. There is no way to pry, even heavy arsenal. There is no access terminal or a key to unlock this big metal junk.
"Another dead end, eh?" Gladio tried to pull using his strength, didn't budge or centimeters at slightest. Retracted his stance and eyeing the hydraulic metal door.
"I'm open for suggestion,"
"I'd say we blast our way through a wall with Armiger." Noctis suggested, rested his palm on the wall, rubbing slightly. Grew impatient by the minute. He took a glimpse to the hallway they were before, storage boxes litter around the hallway, and ceiling.
"Nope, should be another through than by force, Noct. These people knew how to get in and out." Prompto explained, leaning on the wall, engraved white paint of number Five.
He detects a slight breeze through the edge. The wall was out of the ordinary. He noticed the strange interior around this particular wall. A hidden passage? He rest gently his ear and collected a movement and strange occurrence brought him anxiously. He stepped back, look at Gladiolus and Noctis.
"Hey Gladio, can you break this one?" Argentum asked for assistance, lift his index finger, gesturing the wall.
Noct was either impatient or huge assumptions to bring up vandalizing—oh wait. This is the enemy's Keep and vast emptiness, so called Ghost Town. King's Shield raised an eyebrow, strolled, and summoned the magic tied to the Prince, his claymore appeared in a snap, grasping with and—
Oh—
Flat surface shattered in pieces, no commentary... a ruthless brute destroying concrete wall. Right on cue, Prompto evaded Rubble's incoming, and the two used their arms to shield against what was left of it. Noctis mimics his buddy, too.
Well, well, well... a secret entrance.
The two blinked, inarticulate their friend without hesitation.
Well OK, least give them a warning.
"Well, Noct's right, eheh... 'precciate it big guy." Prompto complimented, awkward smile added.
"Don't sweat it," Gladio replied. Just when he was about to dismiss his weapon, there were six Magitek welding axes, swaying its direction to the guys in black. But... those things look bugged or busted. They are called rogue and couple shock Magitek. Charging towards them ominously and disturbing feature, grazing the floor while dragging their melee weapon. The concrete floor screeching with their weapon in metallic arm.
"Company!"
Magitek Axemen. The defective, that is.
Noctis summoned his engine blade and hurled at one rushing towards Gladio, disable immediately despite raising his shield in an instant. He slashed through it and split in two. The malfunction android began to deteriorate and collapse.
Prompto called his death penalty and shot from the distance. One was down, and another circling around Gladiolus. He pummeled his shield to the ground, causing a ruckus and earth-shattering area of range around him. There was an opening that Noctis spotted.
"Hey Prompto,"
"On it, oh hello, opening!" Pressure the revolver trigger, take aim, and release a heavy bullet to its head. Noctis warp strikes after Prompto performance, following his attack. Nice synergy, it'll never get old.
"Impressive!"
"No biggie," the blondie gloat and whistle, tossing his weapon in the sky with a short duration.
Gladiolus flattened the trio that was in front and performed Maelstrom attacks. Noctis unite with Gladio and knock them off their feet and a gush of swing to slice their body in half. But one managed to cascade through the massacre, a quick dash, rushing toward Prompto.
It tackled the blonde caught off guarded and latched itself on to Prompto, collapse to meet the dirty floor due to its weight, and begin to short circuit. Argentum yelped, stunned for brief as it is trying to detonate itself. His right arm was pinned, and the machine weight was at his right hip, but his left free arm tried to shove it off before a nasty hit.
The decayed Magitek face smite to Prompto frantic urge to throw the machine off of him. Illuminating red vivid face of... what was left of it. But he was severed with erratic breaths and afraid to shoot. Despite the revolver in his grasp, he was petrified, and the fear consumed his precision and judgment to comprehend.
It wore his face; he was afraid to shoot himself.
"Prompto!" Noctis yelled in dismay. If he throws his weapon to warp, he might harm him. But he'll get hurt when it explodes.
As a result, he warp strike. Gladio was occupied, didn't detect behind until Noctis summoned his friend name. But it was too late. Prompto screams in pain, electrocuted, and burns. He was forced his body upward a few inches and winced. Clenching his teeth and holding his injured bare arm while twitching convulsive due to aftershock.
"I got you," Noctis was on his side, buckled his knees and pulled out a potion, and crushed in his grasp immediately. Thanks to Fleuret offer curative, it was a huge help. Using both hands, the green highlights healing agent glow and pressured to his friend. The glow aura evaporated to Prompto.
Prompto rolled his back straight to fetus position and met his best friend weary and distressed face of the prince. Adjusting by blinking several times, his friend was on his side, always.
"...Thanks Noct." Argentum stuttered but thankful of his help, slowly propelling himself. Noctis offered his hand, and Prompto grinned slightly, accepting a lift. On his feet, dusting his clothing from debris and dirt clinging on his fatigue.
Gladiolus hustles towards the guys and nods once. Good, Prompto is in great condition. Nothing serious, normal status, doubt, or anything major. He remained his defensive stance for a surprise attack. Standing tall with shield installed as he scanned the area. He was just worried if anything happened to his nuisance blond companion.
"Don't die on me now," Noctis mumbled loudly, patting Prompto back lightly.
"Right, sorry." Prompto apologized, adjusting his shoulders, examining his wrist and bandana. He pondered for a moment, staring intensively at the wrapped cloth around his wrist. Is it the right time to tell his origins? The area is burdening him. Yet, Noctis was there for him. It really warmth his heart.
My friends.
I am one of them, of course. Just...stop overthinking. Prompto thought.
"You alright?" Noctis questioned his friend health, noticing the stare on his wrist.
"Yeah," Prompto lied succinctly. He figured this wasn't a good time to lay the load to his best friend. Nodding a few times and shrugging his body, he met this close friend magnificent blue eyes. He refuses to get distracted and prioritize his friend. Regaining his breathing, as of now, Ignis is in danger.
"Yeah." He repeated. "Iggy needs us."
Noctis detects his self-conscious wavering around his friend. Knowing his pal shrugged his feelings and left him hanging a few times in their journey. But he's right. The trio dismissed their weapon and sprinted across the room. Pursue to their quest, into the depth, the boys sustain deeper. Discover lies beneath the darkness, flash of blood red colored eyes shot a glare, defective Axemen. Though, a walk to Eos field, quite simple sweep up. No daemons emerge, so far. Appease the guys to spare their sweat.
A dread stillness, no encounter so far as they journey within. Silence eating the room, their footsteps vibrating, hinder their presence obviously in opponent fortress. Well... everyone perish, clothing of their remains... condolences who haven't fled to evacuation or execute protocol. Every room was empty; what was left of junks and disturbed shelves. They proceed to control the room, camera feed—approximately 40 multiple display screens of entire Niflheim, that's a promising sight.
"Hey, maybe the cameras might help us find Iggy and the Crystal!" Prompto cheerfully said, racing immediately, eyes glitter in delight.
Noctis eyes lit, a curve elevated on his lips. A lead to find is advisor. His heart was relieved shortly.
Finally!
Hmm, complex buttons.
LIVE cameras.
Panels that said DO NOT TOUCH.
Yeah, let's not curiosity get to them.
"Any bright ideas?" Gladio suggested and looks confused. He was not fond of technology. Rubbing his mane brunette hair, his face was perplexed. If Ignis was here, he would endeavor and instruct the guys. Be a great benefit for his presence and ideals to assist—no, this is on them. They have to save him. The boys surveillance each monitor lead to corridor, dorm, cargo bay, control room, staff meeting, laboratory, courtyard, outside walls...
No signs of Ignis, Ardyn, nor the Crystal.
Empty rooms and Rogue MTs drag itself across hallways, patrol apparently despite their conditions. Certain feed has daemons roaming, Iron Giants, Red Giants, Reapers, Necromancer, Lich, Ariadne, army of Goblins, a fleet of numerous daemons...
A Monster House.
Pray they won't encounter any these vile creatures of the dark.
Where are you, Ignis? Noctis thought, skip each monitor while the guys search each display simultaneously, one at a time. His heart skipped a beat to already throbbing heart.
No time left.
Although, a white noise seems red sirens to the boys. That camera was out of order due to circumstances. Better than nothing, at least clues to begin with.
Prompto began investigating, deciphering the patterns, and established stations. Four monitors dismantled, something or someone terminate. Based on order, number on top right, from first floor to highest, outside viewpoint, what missing was basement. Gladiolus and Noctis were scanning each monitor together and hope to find him.
"This camera is located to lower level. This could be it. Maybe if we reach Cargo Bay, the Crystal was shipped here from Insomnia." Prompto said, rubbing his chin with his free hand, glancing to his comrades.
Clever boy.
"So whatever came from the ship—"
"Has transferred through Cargo Bay. So that's where Iggy began." Noctis finish Gladio sentence, itching in determination—moments to find the Advisor.
"Right," the three agreed in unison.
"Wait," the blond halts his friends from proceeding. He spotted a rewind control on the feed basement. Marvelous. "There's a recording that took place 7 minutes ago on lost footage, a basement."
Click.
Click.
Force its way to seven minute ago prior was a crystal on platter, illuminating the room, whom approaching the Crystal of Light was no other than the person they been searching for upon arrival.
"Ignis!" Noct yelled at the monitor, thinking he can hear him.
The three study the footage, and although the sound and conversation are inaudible, the camera was far. Scientia arrived, just when he witnessed the scourge covert above. A sudden eerie atmosphere tension risen, he's not alone, appear out of nowhere was The Accursed.
Prompto switches to another camera for a better angle and adjusting the volume. A better clarity view and audio detected. They spotted... Scourge? Witnessing Ignis was alerted, he turned around. The plague glows around Ardyn and reveals his terrifying sneer, seeping of malice. Causing Ignis to cringe, even Noct agreed with the advisor behind the screen. Prompto regrets getting a transparent view up close because it startled the blondie.
"What the..." Gladio baffled. How did Ardyn appear out of thin air? Disgusting feature, horrific face, a sense of dread...
Look like he's from a horror movie.
Who the hell are you? Gladio thought.
Astrals, Noct suddenly felt churn in his stomach, not good. His teeth clenched, hands shaking uncontrollably. His body trembles in overwhelming with nauseated uncomfortable throughout his active nerves. So this entire travel, chaos, the fall of Insomnia, this Chancellor of Niflheim, whom speaking, also lend an aid in certain event was...him.
Destruction to his home, cause suffering for all his friends, the burdens of True King's shoulder of destiny callings, enduring loss death of his father Regis and fatally wounded Luna...
The Adagium.
Everything.
No, Impossible!
If he lose his childhood friends, any of them, Prompto, Gladiolus, and now Ignis, he'll lose it. Otherwise, reveal his emotion of no one ever witness. The edge of his feeling will consume him.
Then it happened. Right in front of them.
"—so allow me to introduce myself, Ardyn Lucis Caelum." Ardyn announced, slow and steady his name introduction, Royal Arms appear, rising his arms.
Noctis felt ill. The sensation sending waves throughout his soul revolts the true nature. The sheer cold crushed his soul, dear Shiva. This can not be true. Implausible, a relative?! The one who stood in front of him, murdering Lunafreya. From the old ancients—the beginning of Caelum. Older brother of The Mystic. A man of no consequence. A title he called to him was a weird stranger he claimed was—
"Did you just see what I see?!" Prompto gasped, eyes widened, grab a handful of Noctis' jacket collar from the back because— "Dude, he was using Royal Arms!"
Caelum was uncertain how to reply to Prompto. A descendant who cause agony to people he cared. The massacre of Insomnia. The Chancellor of Niflheim and mass destruction with endless war with Lucis. Exactly what are these games? Thought Bahamut was supposed to guide him from the stars to solve the Star—
Ardyn
Lucis
Caelum.
A damn descendant.
His true title. Noct gritted his teeth, crushing his palm, difficulty catching his own breath to even surpass his own mouth to put in words. Even for Prompto and Gladiolus, dumbstruck and awed on the screen, the man from millennia.
They grew daunted of Ardyn decide to appear in front of Ignis. Of all people. Not even Noctis. What will he gain from the advisor? He was captured for his schemes to put in play.
But it was obvious, he lured and apprehended Ignis to annihilate him. To introduce his true intention and nature, dying alone. Surely he knows Noctis and his friends are going to search for him.
The record kept playing.
"The Founder King?" Ignis inquiry his true identity, the Chancellor or... was meant to be a chosen King. Stand firmly on the ground in case if Ardyn decides to pull a trick up his garb.
The trio remains silent, watching the entire episode.
Ardyn Iz—, no, Lucis Caelum advocates the Advisor his Majesty, the Prince knew Ignis well that he would never kneel to this fowl monster. Of course, Ignis opposes and his allegiance to his True King, which Noct viewing his friend devotion.
But The Accursed Influence his Royal Arms to destroy the area, Ignis tried to shield himself as much as he could, but it was unbearable and overthrown. Witnessing Ignis was knocked out by a Royal Arm impact to his face. The room was beginning to collapse. The last scene was The Mystic sword flew to the camera, cutting off and fuzzy screen appeared that said—
Communication Error. End of Recording.
"Noo!" Noct slammed the control panels in anger.
Okay, good, he did not accidentally hit the DO NOT TOUCH button. Enticing not gonna lie. Where's the label or manual exactly?
But in seriousness, Ignis is no match for him... Gladiolus raged at the beginning for Spec to dare himself harness the Ring's power out of idiocy, resolving his yield. The messager foreshadowed beforehand, and he pondered his purpose to defend himself or laid a plan for future reference. Again, there is not enough damn certainly he knows Ardyn Lucis Caelum.
Gladiolus mutually understood that must've felt the unexpected twist enigmatic turn of events. Especially Noct. After the storm, he dealt loss and pain. But this is crossing the line.
First get to Iggy.
Then he'll beat the shit out of him later for making them worried sick.
"Damn you, Ardyn! This son of a bitch been leading us all along!" Gladio hissed, clenching both fists, muscle was stiff with hatred. Oh, he wanted to punch the screen of Ardyn face directly. The temptation in his veins wants to eradicate him, likely. Gladio growled to himself. Punching won't suffice. Knowing the man who lived eons ago is supernatural. The opponent they're facing is one not to fiddle with. Yet, he is unable to defeat the one who equal and absolute power similar to Noct and Regis.
It hurts. Noctis did an amazing job to conceal his emotions, but it aches. Ignis is going to sacrifice himself for the King. A blood price. An anchor weighs his soul. Gladio turned his back on the monitors and refused to look again. He is a King's Shield, yet comrades giving their life for the King is what their job. But his companions he travel with on Eos, why does his heart ache so much?
Prompto did not invite himself in, frightened Iggy willing to risk his life? Speechless as he is, it was impulse choice...If he hadn't played along or obeyed Ardyn, this wouldn't have happened. No, Prompto acknowledged that Iggy has a plan. He always does. A secret plan, protecting people he cared, he thought of Noct. His best friend, so he persuaded himself to go this beyond?
Prompto took a deep breath and exhaled. They have to be there ASAP. The big guy refuse to take another glance to hundreds of LIVE screens. He can imagine if Ignis use the Ring to fend off Ardyn himself. Ignis is his brother. His companions are family to his eyes. Processing a new path, scrutinizing the buttons, and taping an elevator door shaft from the Control Room automatically open, quickly turn their head on the noise.
"We go this way, lead to Cargo Bay."
Noct and Gladio bolted right away. They need to get there, pronto. Argentum trailed them behind, did his talent, last glance back to the monitor, then resumed, the men hustle in one direction. Their friend is on jeopardy—his life in peril.
This is not the end of their journey. Or Ignis Scientia.
And yet, Noctis looks back to his companion. The king must accept the consequences and never look back. The burdens he bore, the loss and sacrifice should not be a naught. Discourage the legacy of his journey and proffer his hand to the one he loves. The one who is still standing and alive.
They're his brothers. Always trust in them.
And so he took a curve from his calling and look back.
Hang in there Ignis! Noctis thought deeply, closing his eyes.
Please...
Author's Note- Bear with me on bad grammar. Hope you enjoy. May be slow, Kirby game.
