Episode Ignis: Expedite in Numbers
Strong rays of sunlight through the gaping tent, luminous Ignis' face as a wake-up call. The humidity of languorous heat feels like a preheat oven inside the shelter. The man shuns the warmth of sunlight. His body felt sore, muscles were stiff and unresponsive, and he thought that he wanted to sleep due to his brain considering slumber.
After a tedious journey, he studied the world of anew; another chance to live and catch a perspective of Noctis as a fine King. Knowing the light is green, earning a amount of respect and opportunity, according to his image. Granted, Ignis decided to retire after his duty. Perhaps... he can relax, call it a day to—
Wait, what was he doing?
Someone awaken before him?
Shutting some eyes?
...I'm afraid I'll become Noct if I procrastinate and extend my schedule.
Ignis heard movement and stomping outside the tent. Yawning briefly, he inhaled and exhaled, then slowly lifted his heavy eyelids. Blinking slowly, contemplating, he noticed his friend was not present. Probably unwind workout. He was alone in the fortress. It is a rather new sensation to rest and abundant of spaces without the three. It will be guaranteed to miss the experience with four comrades camping again for the longest duration. With great effort, Ignis managed to lift himself onto his elbows, using his tense muscles and legs for support despite the agonizing wave of stiff muscle throughout his body. Eventually, he sat up, and he gently rubbed his eyelids before snapping them open.
Crane his hand to catch his folded spectacles, his everyday life accessory. Opened and wore them over his face, lightly pushed above his nose and adjusted as he rose despite the soreness in his entire body. He also snatched his rented phone and examined it. The screen was hazed-black and dead. His phone had run out of juice. Figured his alarm hadn't alert, which he growled in his throat, biting himself for failing to prepare breakfast. He stretched both arms to check, wound up, and felt a disconcerting sensation throughout his nerves. Well, at least, he was still alive.
Aiming for a pair of his shoes, socks were masking his feet due to self-consciousness. Fortunately, he wore his purple courel insignia skull while in his sleep, and thick layers of leather interior pants was his spare clothing. He slipped his feet into Fagitue shoe, equipped his luxury coat and gloves, and studied his inventory for necessary safety contact. His dead phone. To be precise. Lightly squeezing the smartphone, rubbing the flat screen with his thumb, pleading he didn't past due to his expectations, so he stuffed into his coat pocket.
Inevitable doomsday, these vile creatures of the night will destroy the cell tower in months during his timeline. Which is liable till the integrity it has left before the endless darkness. Perhaps if he planned ahead of time and defends the source of communication global and the skies. Just need an outlet to charge the expensive device.
Standing up, straightening his slightly messy hair. Luckily, the brand of hairspray could definitely be counted his bed hair as worth it. He exited the tent entrance and spotted Amicitia training by himself. Felt refresh with breeze instead of bagged of hot vegetables. For a moment, he heard his loud footsteps making a commotion. Instead, push-ups on the ground ascend and descend due to his strength. The tattooed man took notice and paused, saluting the awakened friend with one hand as others supporting his weight.
"Mornin'. How was your sleep?"
Ignis hummed in response but noticed the sun dial was past the horizon, beyond his expectations. Pretty much painted light Haven under his feet. "How long was I out?"
"Seven hours and fifteen minutes past your regular routine. It's noon. I know you wake up thirty minutes before the alarm hits six. You slept like a rock, so I left you be. Also, I've gotten used to new scars on your face, suitable for the ladies." Gladiolus grinned, resuming his workout.
To Ignis' surprise, he simply stared at him with a look of shock and scanning his surroundings. There is no certainty it's already submitted at noon. Based on sun glare, past Fahrenheit, and stationed in the sky above him, Gladiolus speaks the truth. He tilt his head, and now viewing Haven beige-tan and glint of markings, expression of Gladiolus smug disintegrated. He wasn't fond of himself once again, as Gladiolus figured. Obviously, the tactician snarled to himself. Really. He really needs to stop talking to himself.
"Drat, the smartphone failed to alert my requirements." He sounded chagrined. He walked and knelt both knees to the campfire and removed the clip from the basket before pulling out a silver kettle and polished mugs. There were fresh water bottle, filters, and utensils, and he poured them into the kettle. Surprisingly, he failed to notice slight fulsome from Gladio and transition to his favorite coffee instead if he stocked them earlier in Lestallum ahead of his list.
The sworn Shield halted his warm-up and rose, dusting off dirt clinging to his palms and crossing his arms. "Your alarm was running."
"What?!" Ignis spat out, dismayed, glancing the Shield.
"Your alarm was running." He repeated.
Ignis paused, blank and stunned as he met Gladiolus's eyes. The truth poured from him, based on his body language and the honesty of his comrade.
"I reckon if you wake me, Gladio." He insisted while closing the lid, shifting his legs to the warm campfire and setting it aside by the warm ember charcoal. The fire had gone out, but the ashes of charred wood and hot coals were still glowing.
"If you ever decide to stop with this self-loathing, save Noct and Astral's sake. Put yourself first for once. You are fighting against the aftermath of the Ring with no damn rest. Noct told me before he left to protect you and Prompto." Gladiolus snapped, eloquently, emphasizing his promise to the royal family and stern face of his companion's grim repose. Releasing his grip on crossing arms, both hands rested at his hips.
Oh. Correct...
Upon mentioning it, he immediately awakened in Leville and sprung into action, waiving all his weaknesses and burdens to focus on his innovation of saving Noctis. Leading his friends, enduring Prompto's antics, working alongside Gladiolus as a brother, reuniting with old acquaintances, and clashing with demonic creatures. Imprudent with risk, he sacrilege a forbidden Ring fit for the Lucis bloodline...
And Noct. He would've been dead yesterday to view the beauty of dawn for the first time in new branch.
Rigorous hardship and difficulty to surpass and fatal consequences thanks to future King. The pleads from the magic stone—ameliorated his fatal wounds that are beyond repair. Gladiolus was right. He should have taken a leisurely approach. Since the First King have taken a somber victim in harm, Ignis solemnly despise the life his dear friends have endured because the destiny they were accompanied and Noctis covenant with the Astrals was a matter.
So Gladio have every reason to intermission his friend dozing in. "My apologies, Gladio. I will endeavor to maintain my focus and prioritize when I have the most clarity." Ignis replied, his voice steady and calm as he met Gladiolus's amber-hazel eyes. Accurate and forthright, a friend generally reminded of himself.
The atmosphere filled the silent men, the air growing thick with moisture, swift wind breeze and sliced as the sun beat down on them with its high temperatures. It was impetuous of him. As sensible it is, Amicitia knew foolhardy and stubborn to sincere his objective. Keen on not knowing his insignificant wellness. In a matter of fact, circumspect to permit Ignis replenished with rest until his body sent him a message. Vigilantly guarding and exercising routine as he waited instead. The brute walked over to the tent, knelt, and began to dismantle it into a carrier. "Don't worry," he whispered as he walked by his kneeling friend. Shuffle two pillows and blanket and wrap them in a bag.
Ignis quieted, he rise and seated himself in the trademark Coleman chair and collected himself as he viewed the grassy terrain outside of desiccated marking Haven. He heard his friend wrapping up the tent, loosening the nails penetrating the ground. The fabric tent expanded like a balloon; the sudden wind picked up, which Gladiolus instantly snatched before it cast away, adding to the atmosphere's scents of swamp, riverbank, earth, and scent of sea. The kettle whistled harshly as it steamed. Ignis gently grasped the handle and poured a serving for him and his friend.
Sipping hot cleaned water, he was disappointed that the short stock of Ebony. Lestallum stocked moderate amounts, but the funds are another issue. Dwelling on his own thought, Amicitia breaks the silence. "Cor called, instructing us to go to Fodina Caestino for a royal tomb that contains Lucis's ancestor's weapon. Tried to contact Noct, but he wasn't able to. So he called me where Noct had to pinch our noses and get down there. I explained where we were headed, and he was perplexed how we managed to return here."
"I see. Unfortunately, we are beyond this point to turn back. The route by train from Altissia to the Caestino. With the Royal Vessel is far length from where we are now." Ignis explained, rising from his seat and offering a cup to his comrade. Gladiolus accepted his gratitude and set it aside as he began to collapse the tent for one day's rest.
"He contacted Dustin and Monica, Weskham failed to arrive due to vessel broken down in Altissia. He's safe tho. I didn't explain to Cor what you did, though, I'll let you decide." Gladiolus noted, scattered the pillows and blanket aside and unzipped the rest of the fabric.
"I will deliver him the news, as well as Monica, Dustin, and Cid, as soon as we arrive. They're unaware Noct has entered the Crystal and ascended our King; we all put our faith in him. But that faith they prayed for was inadequate and inveteracy. Perhaps we can request an expedition ahead of time." Ignis explained, sipping his high temperature water, burning his lips and throat with its burning liquid. The sensation of almost boiling water seared his tongue. Which he felt awaken, at least.
The tank nodded and pulled something from his back pocket; it was his phone. Pausing his chores, he rolled his knees forward and approached his comfortable friend. Heeding the advisor's advice, he caught it with his free hand, but in doing so, spilled some of the clear liquid on the side of his mug.
"Ravus phone number, by the way, he called after Cor. We told him in customary fashion that we'd meet as soon as you wake up."
"Ravus called? For what purpose?" He questioned, raising his eyebrows while blowing on the hot brew and sipping.
Loosen the screw and align the tent support and roll the sheet into a neatly folded triangle. "Just checking if you're still alive," he says in monotone. "Suggest adding contact information so we can stay in touch. Also, he's seeking for you because you're aware of these events."
Tapping the screen, the phone came to life, bright and vivid. "So I heard. I will contact Ravus with accurate precision of the remaining months. I assume if Ardyn is the Adagium, we possibly keep scourge at bay."
The Shield paused and is considering a break. Grabbing the mug, exclude the grip and minor sips. "Happens when he was devoted to that shitty Imperials and not knowing the truth outside Eos. Spending too much free time on Gralea than doing the right thing since now. Psssh." Gladio barked, face twitching, vexed about his purpose, and proceeded his mini chore almost completed.
"I believe Gralea is beyond salvation at this point and extremely hazardous to step in. Hence, Niflheim's investigation into the mysteries of daemons was a ruthless decision they ever dared to make. I assume hell has cursed them for experimental measure." Ignis said, skimming through the active phone with his thumb and eyes darting as he scrolled. Recent contacts an hour ago, which was Bastard. He could have guessed that was Ravus. Forty-five minutes ago was Cor. No insults, because Cor is above him. So... someone called Annoying p—
He prefers non verbal of profanities and matching the names that educated guess was Prompto. The Advisor examined Contact Information and noted Ravus number imprinted to his memory as a future reference. Analyzing only the importance with his prosperity to achieve and overthrown the falsely King and Astral slayer—as Noctis would obtain a new title if opposed.
Curious, he inquires the name of the person who originally posted it for the young lad. Gladiolus rose, grabbing the tent over his shoulder and walking his way. Just as he was about to leave, Ignis asked him whom the nickname contact, the tough man, responded to him with a 'What do you think' look. The face Ignis received the message realization. 'Ah,' he looked at the sworn shield leaping off the Haven. Luckily, the dirt road was established years ago, so there were no potholes on the gravel roadside around Maidenwater. A closer inspection, Edit button, he saw Prompto phone number. Quite silly if he ask himself. The only folding furniture was the camping chair, which was two. The rest was returned to Regalia, thanks to the strong unit. The dying flames, despite how humidity they preferred, demanded to have proper meal. Which required dry wood to ignite, and Ignis could whip up breakfast. But Gladiolus folded to the carrier, and his table to-go sent to Regalia trunk.
But the kettle and woven wood basket remained. Rise from his seat and immediately snatched two bottles and the kettle that was slightly warm to the touch. He proceeded to fill it with fresh water and pour it inside, setting the kettle over the charcoal. Keep the pot on top of the coals, burying it in the center. The hot water will serve multiple purposes; not only can you cook food, but it can also use it as a source for drinking water.
Ignis seated himself on the chair and took a few sips as he scanned his friend's phone. Perhaps to contact Prompto was ideal. Punching the screen lightly, the phone starts buzzing and vibrating on his armchair and set on speakers. In moments, the voice of a young lad can be heard, with additional rumpus of ear bleeding saw blade noises.
"Hey, big guy! What's up, my dude?" Prompto's voice grew louder, drowning out the background noise of the crowd, metallic screech, and sawdust-filled air. Astound of horrid location Prompto was in, he wished there were better sound suppression in the room.
"Hello Prompto, how are things faring on your end?"
Instantly, Prompto recognized the voice distinguished from his journey, and he gasped. "Hey, Iggy! Good to hear ya! My right butt cheek was extremely sore from waiting for you! What is up, my man of the new sunrise? Oh, you don't believe what I'm gonna tell you, bud! I officially hate Dino! He's even worse than Noct giving me advice for girls!" uninhibited his tone high in pitch belligerent, background of shrieking metal grinding the concrete floor.
The Advisor raised his eyebrow and indulged his warm water. As he swallowed, he licked his lips, blank expression, blinking, gazing Gladio's phone, and spoke impersonal reply. "Well then." No comment afterward.
Prompto whined at the speaker, underestimating it was awfully unnecessary. The audio of Prompto volume was overwhelming and dynamic. Ignis is listening quietly to Prompto finicky remarks, Gladiolus shadow sought and slid in as he appeared, ascending from the ground to rocky sanctuary, in both hands were cup noodles and utensils. "Bro, he was talking to her most of the time and offered her his room! I was supposed to do that!"
"I see. Please conceal yourself from the disturbance of ruckus to a quieter place." Ignis replied, noticing the water started to rise with white steam, leaning halfway from the Coleman chair and snatch the warm handle of pot and shift to the rocky surface.
"Have you eaten already? Brush your teeth as well? Don't forget to wash properly." Ignis questioned the check Prompto status. How sweet.
On his end of the line, Prompto obeyed. "Uh huh! One sec, gonna go inside HammerHead main bui—Oh and these daemons are getting on my nerve, everywhere we go, it's always there!" Detect audio noises of footsteps echo. Then, the door created an excruciating door noise, which was unbearable squeaking. At least the background muted and clear voice of the sharpshooter is expected.
"Truth," Gladio added, proffering a sealed cup of chicken noodle soup to his comrades. The tactician collected the factory-made noodles, while Gladiolus grabbed the flap and peeled it back to reveal dried, powdered vegetables and noodles. His eyes gleamed with delight as Ignis and poured hot water into both.
"Yo! Gladio! My man!" Prompto cheered from the speaker.
"Sup kid, better keep up your schedule before Iggy nagged the hell out of you." Amicitia directed, smirking as he claimed his chopstick.
"Oh, tell me about it, Mama Ignis always strikes when you least expect it. If I don't follow simple directions, he will unleash the demon inside," Prompto teased over the speaker.
Ignis frowned, chivvy, and growled. He swear every single day of his life, Noctis and Prompto have darn similarities. Absolutely certain he learned from Noctis. "Why do you insist on calling me 'Ma' on every occasion we have a moment to talk?"
"Uh oh, I spoke too soon!" Prompto sarcastically joked behind the speaker. Based on his tone of voice, it was obvious mishaps.
"I mean," Gladiolus began, questioning on Prompto behalf and stirring the ingredients to enhance into absolute comfort and pleasure. "Noct is gone for now, so now you got an only son. Plus, you also remind us every day to look royalty." Joking to the point where Prompto chuckled can be heard from the speaker.
Looking away, he stared at his cup noodles to avert his eye contact to the man. "I will pretend not to hear both of you." He pointed out, unbiased to reply the scenario. The laughter from those two troubled Ignis, even hector about his companions, irrespective demeanor and facts.
Eyeing on the processed cup noodles, Ignis innocuously suggested. "I could whip a satisfying and nutritious breakfast if you haven't dismantled my station." Scientia also ignored the changed topic, in an elegant manner, covert the top with a factory broken seal and set chopsticks rested above to proceed cooking inside.
Gladiolus gathered his cup noodle and warm water as he seated himself with an available camping chair beside his friend and explained a compelling deflect. "It's noon, and it's an easy meal on a go. We are already burning daylight. Besides, you're welcome." He coaxed with his favorite meal to Ignis beckoning while melting to the chair beside his comrade.
Ignis sighed, feeble to pick up. Clutching his noodles on hand and balancing the chopstick as he straightened his back against the camping chair. Resigned, he said. "All right."
"Ooooh, no fancy food made by Iggy? Shame on you, Gladio." Prompto teased, background low in volume. It seems Prompto decides to smokescreen from extreme noises to have a better reunion with his comrades.
"Why don't you lunge on Dino in front of Cindy then? It'll be a shame if she witnesses you fidgeting a man over her." Gladiolus barked back, clutching noodles on his chopsticks and slurping his lunch obnoxiously loud, chewing throughout, and swallow when it's piping hot.
"Pfffft. No such thing bona fide in all royalty I can be! I have tolerance."
"Not as tolerance to sit there and your favorite girl is with another man. What a shame."
Prompto gasped nonchalantly.
"Now, now," Ignis began, lucid and dense, as the two banter and sufferance. "Let's get to business, gentlemen. I'd like to hear from you, how are you?"
Manner and considerate as always, Prompto cheerfully concept he accomplished his end since Gladiolus mentioned the journalist prevailed. In his favor, he smiled. Although, Prompto voice sounded infuriated about Dino. Intelligible as Prompto explanation and experience was quite an adventure. Especially on his own. Encouraging to sustain on his travel without accompany or support of his friends. Granted, unyielding friendship, he would prestige his own.
A check mark on his to-do list. Prompto has grown into a fine young lad. For a 20-year-old, of course.
"—then I got free room and told the civilians about the darkness too. Also, got a free room! Don't need to sleep in trailer, heh."
Ignis picked up their foam-covered temperature controlled cups of noodles. Removing the utensils and lids, the meals released an exquisite scent, and steam eject aroma of chicken. Ignis patiently waited for it to be safe to consume. However, Gladiolus devoured his noodles halfway through, draining the broth, forgotten water on the side.
"Splendid. I am astonished to hear you're safe and build up characteristics I see. What are your coordinates?" Ignis questioned. He positioned the chopstick into his fingers and blow the hot noodles and surpressing the slurping noise.
"Uh, HammerHead, currently early in the morning, Cindy, that D means delinquent, and I went there as soon as we wake up. The goddess has announced to the people and reinforced metal fences around HammerHead, though it was a batch, not enough to cover. We need more metal for barriers. She only has defensive back in case of stampede wild monsters incoming." Prompto explained.
"I see," he said, enlightened to hear his comrade success. "Make sure to stay posted, and I'll contact you once we arrive in Lestallum." Ignis nodded his approval and continued to consume his processed meal at a steady pace. Stabilizing his chopsticks, he clamped down on a string of soggy, enticing noodles.
"Yeah, Specky, what about you? Gladio told me you're...sleeping in? Never in my entire life than the Astral born to hear you SLEEP past your alarm?!" Clamor Prompto.
Ignis choked his food, huffing and coughing, sliding his chopstick into his cup and hitting his chest in embarrassment. He shot a glare to Amicitia and the phone stationed on his armchair. The Crownsguard leader destroyed and chugged his entire cup and broth. Set aside his disposable cup, which caught the shield startled and earning his disapproval of inconveniently stated his status without permission.
Bloody traitors, both of them. It left Ignis indignation as he thought.
"What?"
"Would you rather not rudely invade my conditions without my consent to others?" Ignis growled, pulling out his handkerchief and dabbing his lips before folding it back into his pocket. The burden and drag on him and his friends.
Gladiolus shrugged. "He tried to call you." He reflected his statement, glint of unenlightened expression.
Well, that explains the logic and recent contact information. Had to concede his absence, filling the situation about his status. Ignis observed the tank menacing stare to the ashes of the campfire. Cleared his throat and set aside his half eaten noodles. He sighed silently. He took ample time to close his eyes in the tent.
"I was a bit worried something might have happened to you, buddy, so I called the least person I would call why you weren't picking up your phone," Prompto explained in a concerned tone.
"It's cool, don't disappoint her if you don't have any friends, K?" Gladiolus snapped, wiped out clean on foam cup of noodles and set aside to the ground, crossing his arms over his chest.
Prompto let out an exaggerated dramatic gasp. "Hullabaloo—nonsense!" He exclaimed. "You're my VIP guards, heh heh! Right, Iggy?" Annoyance and peppiness as ever.
"And yet, I haven't seen a Gil." Ignis retorted, taking sips on broth..
Gladio nudged his elbow against Ignis's sleeve, catching his eye contact with the brute, raising his eyebrows and gestured for him to lean closer. Ignis obliged, leaning forward with his mug. "Are you going to explain the incident last night to Prompto?"
Ah, so Gladiolus didn't summon him to Prompto. In fairness, Prompto shared his intel with his comrades without hesitation. He was attentive to Ignis' thesis and worked to improve it. Ignis surmised this because of his ruthless pursuit of the truth and saving humanity. Not only because of what he had speculated, but also because of his desire for justice and encouragement of his comrades determination saving Noctis.
Ignis nodded in approval. The look on the man's face was a mix of hesitation and skepticism, so the big man took the stage for his regard. Ignis couldn't explain the abnormal performance, but Gladiolus' suggestion had been worth considering. He hoped the man hadn't mentioned warping, instead relating it to Thundaga. He trusted the shield, as he had seen it firsthand.
"Yo, Prompto," Gladiolus began. "Iggy managed to warp-strike."
OK. Didn't turn out as he intended.
Ignis shot a irritated gaze, not amused in the slightest. He should have initiated. Now Prompto would explode on him with questions and multiple follow-ups. Reminder to not allow these two present and ever without supervision.
"Whoa what? No friggin' way." Prompto befuddled tone rising, high in pitch to his surprise screeching the speaker.
Ignis cleared his throat, blaring to make notice. Gladiolus looked intimidating because he exclaimed in a smart way. "No..." Ignis trailed off. Ok, well, that was a mistake. Huge mistake. Regretting to allow the man to speak for him. He witnessed him warp. They initially had a conversation last night that it wasn't a warp strike. Darn it.
"Wait, so Gladio lied? I knew he have a sharp tongue that he will always be single." Prompto joked, intimidating voice blasting through the speaker.
"You may be right, kid," Gladiolus budged in. "But I look good. Chill on a side and let Cindy get hit by another man like me then." A smug written over his face.
Prompto gasped. This time, it was genuinely in a gruff, harsh tone. "Hey! I will make a humiliation out of you!" Gladio laughed and let out a hearty chuckle. Wondering if they had both forgotten about the subject.
"But in reality, Iggy managed to teleport." Gladiolus added, decide to fill the voided silence from the tactician. Probably ponder in thoughts to permit the man speech for him.
Ignis's prediction was too accurate that these not so gentlemen spoke out inadequate accusations. "Iggy, care to explain this to me, buddy?" Prompto questioned.
"I... believe it's not warp, I infused my Thundaga to my Zwill Crossblade, and in effect, I threw my Precision lance to the Giant, and I ported, grasping my lance where I have thrown." Ignis explained throughout, and eyes furrowed at the Shield. The advisor revolts the man's blunt to his comrade provocatively. "I beg to differ, Gladio. Please do not blatantly ruse the occurrence again."
Gladiolus tsked and rose from his armchair to toss his trash into the garbage bag and collapsed his camping chair. A 'Look' explain, don't let him take the lead next time on speech if they can do it themselves. He proceeded to stretch his back, stomach filled with satisfying delightful meals he typically enjoyed. The brute gestured, throwing his thumb to Regalia and swaying his head tilt as well. Assigning the tactician to wrap up. Ignis exhaled deeply, loud noises from his lungs and sighed.
"Whoa, I mean, Iggy, Gladio, I get the ring thing, but without it, how are you—well, Glaives like us can do it too. Not to mention, we don't have the King to grant us the infinity of power to cast spells and—so, uh, ahem, what's the awkward silence?" Prompto spoke up from the speaker.
The advisor face tensed. Wonderful, he'll fill the missing gaps, another reunion, perhaps. "Prompto, we're heading to the lighthouse; we shall cease and resume another session." Ignis announced. Ignis hurriedly gathering the woven basket, dumped the water of Gladio forgotten cup, and shoved into the carrier. His hands are full and exit to return the camping equipment back to Regalia. Ignis drafted his sentence as he strolled behind the tank. He gulped down his warm water and wiped it clean. Leaping off safely onto the ground, he felt reinvigorated from the combination of sleep and huge portions of MSG-added and chicken-flavored noodles.
"Affirmative, lemme know. See you, buddy, don't make me soil my black fancy attire made by the best tailor if you didn't respond to my number, alrighty then?"
Ignis hummed and tapped the hang-up button. In his timeline, Gladiolus and Prompto have a bitter argument and fallout after Ignis became blind due to Lucii of the Ring. The tragedy of losing Noctis in the Crystal and unexpected apocalypse have come to a close. Friendship of broken words of silence and despair. So the three parted; venture off on their own adventures. Ignis remained in Lestallum, trained with Crownsguard and huddle to expedite for the King.
Years later, he encounters and deciphers clues about Lucis. With Talcott's help, Ignis slowly pieces together knowledge about the world. Knowing Ardyn was once a healer. He finds it hard to believe a man who has committed atrocities could be one. Through practice and patience, he eventually masters cooking and joins the Glaives.
Gladiolus' role was to train the recruits of Kingsglaive. Proving himself resourceful, he led the young warriors who vowed to die for the king. Iris was fond of slaying daemons, so she joined the Glaives and offered to collect water to power Eos. As a young adult, Iris philanthropic good-will to promote her shop with clothing and donations to help the less fortunate. Gladiolus received bounties and requests from numerous clients, which he handled with ease. Even his sister became a fine hunter, accommodating to lead and proud of Amicitia bloodline.
Occasionally, Gladio trained Ignis when he lost his sight. Gladiolus adamantly refused to allow Ignis join the Glaives, believing him to be vulnerable to daemons. However, Ignis inflexibly proved him wrong, entrenched the role he always remained the Crownsguard despite the disability.
Prompto wandered off and popped into Lestallum to check on the others and train the Glaives. Having matured and collected himself, he gladly supported the soldiers on their feet. He checked in on Ignis and tried to help him out, as a caring and loving friend he is, Ignis refused to accept his help and tried to prove something no one could perform. It was tedious, but he managed to accomplish it. So Prompto led the Glaives and supported the troops. Often he visited HammerHead to help Cindy with engineering and forging better vehicles and weaponry for the soldiers and hunters. His attempts at flirting and impressing Cindy were crucial.
The three parted ways in the enveloping darkness of endless vile monsters. It was rare for them to sit together. They were far-fetched and struggled to protect the survivors. Unfortunate when the entire world went upside down.
Ignis witnessed a new clarity of companions; they revealed the caring and communications with another. He figured that there are possibilities in every branch that was magnificent. The main key is to resolve the ordeal of destiny. Noctis will die if action hasn't performed flawlessly and obtain Light of Providence. Acknowledging his presence begged a difference of determination.
Gladiolus and Ignis arrived at the exquisite vehicle. The brute rose to the back, opened the trunk, adjusted the proper spot, and shut tight as Ignis unlocked and entered. Seating himself to the driver seat, seat belt buckled, jump start the engine, purring and ejected fumes from the back, and Gladiolus taking a sight of rocky glimmered Haven. In the back, satisfaction of cup noodles and the duo drove to Cape Caem.

Taking a curve on the seaside, it was vast; glorious sunlight reflected of radiance and glory. This type of weather and lovely seaside would be wonderful for vacation. Though there are Shieldshears and Alphagin habitat would be troublesome, a few cooperation and slay these fiends will be beach day. The smell of sea and earth is magnificent.
Gladio wasn't admiring the view; he was caught off-guard instead. Asleep, putting it simply. Ignis' recovery, thanks to Noctis and his companions' understanding, had been significant. Taking a slight curve in the road, they found themselves on grassy terrain, and from the distance, the pinpoint of their journey came into view.
Scorching heat temperature decreased due to open vast sea and now few minutes to the lighthouse. Gladiolus was still asleep from the trip. Approximately 18 minutes after departing from Telghey Haven. Spotting the lighthouse, Ignis took a right turn and parked the Regalia on the road curve, abruptly waking Gladiolus fitful sleep. The Shield stretches his arms over his head, slightly twists and turns his stiff body and eyes at the driver and parked vehicle.
Gladiolus groaned, raise both arms in the air, attempting to awaken his lousy nerves and muscle for respite. The two exited Regalia, locking the door behind them. Ignis also stretched, taking short steps, and proceeded to stroll on the grains of the sand across the inclined hill. It was rather a nice tranquility along the way. The Crownsguard pressed every step due to the grains and dirt rubbing against their boots and sliding into their soles. Crossing the crops and field, they finally stumbled upon the front of the lighthouse; someone stood from the distance, and it was a young lass who was sprinting toward the duo.
"Gladdy! Hey!" Iris cheerfully called out her brother's name, rushing towards the two.
"Hey sis," Gladiolus embraced her in a hug, disappearing to Altissia and the hectic adventure he had conquered. She hugged the heck out of him. As Ignis stood firm, a soft smile lifted his lips. It was a touching, genuine display of familial bonding.
"Good to see you guys safe." Iris said, releasing her grip on her brother, standing straight, one arm behind her back, and grasping her other arm, revealing her benevolent smile. The wind brushed her hair swayed to the right along with her attire.
Sympathetic and kind, Iris waved at Ignis with a warm greeting, and in turn, he returned the gesture with one fluid movement. Gladio rubbed his mane because the breeze felt wonderful, but the temperature is climaxing due to afternoon hours. Clear as crystal, her genuine smile dismissed into briefly gasp as she noticed a new appearance of Noct Advisor.
"What happened to you, Iggy? Were you hurt?"
Scrupulous well detail to distinguish scars that stained his face. Since the gash on his eyebrow past his left eyelid, right eyebrow, and the top of his nose. Especially one print skipping to his undamaged green-clear eyes was easily detectable. Can't be veiled due to circumstances unless cosmetics, which is unnecessary. Transparent lens and half rimmed black spectacles didn't even improve to mask the permanent gash. In small explanatory, not in full detail, unlike Gladio blunted lack of knowledge and provide evidence, Ignis focuses on Iris sweet and endearing eyes of her.
"There was... an uneventful turmoil of the Astrals, a turbulence upheaval Sea of God. Therefore, Imperials tried to contain the Astral. In doing so, we scattered, and I have faced a worthy opponent, which is the Chancellor of the Imperials." Ignis explained briefly, impulsively moving his hands to push up his spectacles up while closing his eyes.
Showing doubt was clear, and Iris opened up to speak her scrutiny about the position they're in. "The Astrals? They sprout out of their sleep? And the Chancellor attacked and crashed Noct's wedding while the god enrages? Is that how Lady Luna passed?" Iris slammed copious inquiry to know the truth.
"More or less," Ignis said dryly, snapped his eyelids open, and observed the two siblings. Hugging his own chest and decompressing his undergoing moments to forgive himself endangering the others' lives.
"Moreover, Iggy got abducted by the Empire. After that, the damn Chancellor kidnapped him." Gladiolus gestured Ignis, throwing his thumb to the tactician. The disgust and negative outcome from Ignis expression was exasperated as he released his firm grip on himself and continued. "So we got sidetracked instead of proceeding our journey to save the one we loved dearly. He got tortured and tormented him to death, but Noct saved him."
So Ignis remained pique because of Gladio facts. Perhaps he also accounted for shortening the length of useful data and burdening the fellow comrades and endangering them. In addition, it is not guaranteed to drag along a young kid intervene. Although Ignis wasn't deemed to lie towards the young lass; spite to lie from his mouth was unacceptable. Honest and sweet, what Noctis would describe him and Iris similar. But Gladiolus disputes his wording, and Ignis, to his family, is equal that the tactician seems to remain level-headed and reciprocal rights. Amicitia is loyal to Lucis and shall revive as a proud bloodline. The quarrels, which he permitted the older Amicita access, allocate the resources they have gathered. But the last sentence nearly shocked and scared the heck out of her, based on her expression of fear and concern.
"Wait, what the fu-"
"Gladio," Ignis harrowing interjected Gladiolus from redeeming intel, immediately dispel her language on time, sort of. "Minor portion will suffice, please."
"Sorry, I just had to come clean with the truth, at least." Gladiolus admitted, slight frowning as his face twitched, and his voice was sincere and resentful of 'Chancellor' intrusion to interfere them. His tongue got stolen when he refused to summon the person he despised.
"Thanks, Gladdy," Iris thanked her brother, flung her eyes to Ignis, daunting of his condition. She was disconcerting Ignis suffering if her brother detailed the chapter due to visible scars on his facial. Not knowingly the cause and underneath his attire. Though he seems natural and steady, she asks his wellness regardless. "Are you all right?"
"I am fine, thank you, Iris." Ignis smiled slightly, taking a token of appreciation her caring nature.
"How do you guys get back to Lestallum?Where are the others?" she said, alarmed. If Noctis Save Ignis, where is he and Prompto? Wouldn't they be supposed to protect Noct at all cost? Her grieving expression knew Ignis was in danger, and then Noctis and Prompto were harmed, too? She and the Shield had a chit-chat yesterday on the phone, scrutinize the missing report of his reason retrace back to Lestallum.
"There was help from Imperial commanders who filed a resignation to those dumbass capital, so they guide us to save him, and it happens to become our ally now. I would rather explain the full story in person," Amicitia said calmly, trying to boost her sister's spirits with neutral feelings despite the aggrieved result.
Ignis nodded, assented with his companion logic. But wise not to subject the King of Old name. "Precisely. Hence, why we reunited in the territory of our enemy and made it out alive. As for Lady Lunafreya..."
Ignis took a deep breath, and Luna has a role to fulfill. She passed because the homicide of Ardyn had done. It'll be dark, harsh, and cruel. She had enough with Noctis, and information laid out for her reached the limit and best not to add more pressure to her. He exhaled and delivered the news. "Her intention was also covenant with the Astrals to assist Noct in the upcoming apocalypse. An unfortunate interference of the fleet of Imperials."
"And Noct...?" Iris trailed off, frowning. Meets the eye of her brother. "Is it really true?"
Gladio knew this would happen when Iris set off of fear and trepidation. He met her eyes and spoke truthfully. Knowing how vital Noctis and Iris friendship is unbreakable. So he spoke in appeasing stern voice. "Painful as it may be, your friend Noctis is a childhood friend of yours, and we should all be grateful to the young prince. Unfortunately, he's in the Crystal, where he now serves as our new king. We won't see him again for some time."
"Oh... I see." Iris's sorrowful voice ghastly to the bothered guys.
The air grew tense and heavy with sadness and anger, which made it difficult to comprehend. Knowing mutual feelings to lose someone close is a sense of foreboding. It'll be wise if siblings engage and comfort one's feelings with a relative.
"I will leave you two be; please pardon my intrusion, and I will make my way to meet the others. Iris," Ignis began, turning to the younger Amicitia, the unsettling aura from Iris made Ignis encourage to sustain his mission. Now even determined for her joy to brighten Eos once more with the right people. "Are Cid, Cor, Monica, and Dustin present?"
Iris gestured the lighthouse, lifting her arm, pinpointing the surface to the tall, bleached, eroded light tower where they departed to Altissia. Sun was visible to reveal cracks and vines that began to overwhelm the tower from roots. "They're on a lower level."
"Wonderful, I appreciate your help, Iris." Ignis smiled.
"Yeah..." the lass said, lamented to contain her sadness.
Ignis noticed the bum of her voice of sweet and kind to sorrow and tears, and Ignis grinned faded. Gladiolus nodded his head once, and Scientia bowed briefly and on his route to the direction he was indicated to go, abandoning the two.
"Sis," Gladiolus began, eyeing her while she observed Ignis strolling away the two. "You will be alright."
"Gladdy," Iris responded, meeting his eyes with doubt and fear. Releasing her grip on her back, she swayed her arms and clasped her hands into a knot in front of her, resting them on her skirt. "Talcott augury told me a True King would relinquish the darkness with his life after forge an alliance with the Astrals and harness inside the crystal... is it true?"
He hesitated, knowing Iris had been informed of Noctis's fate ahead. His best friend, who secretly liked him, was now willing to perish for the star. Amicitia knew exactly how she felt. He watched Ignis enter the lighthouse and proceed to the elevator to the bottom floor.
"Yea."
"What can we do? I heard stories that Lady Lunafreya passed, and she is the only reason Scourge prevents it from spreading. I... never got a chance to greet her." the young Amicitia questioned, face paled, and face to face with her brother. Worrisome and parlous state of everyone safety.
"Iggy got a plan at his disposal. You gotta trust him. You gotta trust me. There's a way to save Noct, after all." The Shield explained calmly and assured her promise Ignis' harbinger to surpass the future fate.
"Really?"
"I'm positive. As an older brother, I would never lie to anyone who is friends with Noct and my flesh and blood." Gladiolus confessed, serious tone. As he glanced at her again, he noticed her bottom eyelids were foaming petite tears. She was afraid of losing Noctis. Brave as she is, gloating about never to mess with the Amicitia family. Yet, the weakness and integrity can not withstand breaking the bonds of caring the loved ones. So she remains muted. It pains Gladio that one thing Luna passed because what Ignis have explained Ravus witness Luna passing. Ardyn Lucis Caelum have done nefarious behind the scene the event took place.
"Hey," Older of Amicitia assured her with a soothing voice of his in a long time. A brute, fierce, reliable, but mighty, tenderhearted, soft, and empathetic brother. "You got your stuff packed?"
She nodded once and gestured her briefcase and suitcase packed beside the house. Gladiolus approached as the young brunette lass stationed beside Regalia. Iris gazed back at the lighthouse, pondering Noctis and Prompto. The two usually banter and roughly horseplay like toddlers on Lestallum street are not present. Especially Noctis, a stroll on street markets and chitchat, gratitude of Moogle plush that granted a protection for him and the retainers on their journey safe to Altissia.
Every single minute has passed, and everything has gone atrocious. She wished for Noctis safety and alive. But the world she know, Eos, perpetual starscourge of daemons if Noct procrastinate as King and life they knew will be portent into darkness. But she cannot afford to lose Noctis to the planet. If the older brother is accurate, if Ignis have a preeminent to save Eos and Noctis. Ignis was an illustrious man who knew no boundaries to break the truth. Her belief to Noct childhood friend; a mutual sense that he, too, have requisite with the help of others. Now, coming back to where she has found safety after Insomnia fall.
Perhaps she is able to encourage others to help her out and Cor to establish reunion to fight off daemons.
Gladiolus managed to obtain three cases in both hands as jenga. A visual of brown, black, and beige luggage. Plus, a miniature Moogle key chain dangling on strap. Arriving in habitual stroll carrying heavy loads of Iris' belongings, he paused and set her goods on the ground gently. Shaking his wrist, rise to the driver seat and lift a switch that operates the trunk and flung open. Iris examined her packed clothing and souvenir from her fair share of travel to Gladiolus.
"Hey, I got this. You should meet up with Iggy." She offered and took his place as she lifted one of her brick of her belongings to the back and angle to a position it could adjust with camping goods they moderately use for outside. Vertical the rectangle block and shove in, her palms on the solid beige interior luggage and use her weight to slam it in.
The shield approached and planted his huge hand on the driver door. Accepting her suggestion and met her eyes. "Got it, just give me a holler if you need anything, sis."

Ignis patiently stood motionless as the elevator descended. His weight felt it was cut in half and churning sensation. Silence was eventually filled with the elevator of grinding metal sliding. He ponders if it is rational to explain the situation of harnessing the Ring of Legend to others. The thought of the consequences of scaring the ring or influence of others will abuse it. If Noctis ever returns and locks on as bounty for the magical ring. Nervous to say, only to the point of Royalty of Lucis would guarantee to present them.
B1.
What would be crucial to convince a person like the leader of units cynical explanation from Ignis equitably surviving from the forbidden ring exclusively to monarch itself. Conscientious and devoted to the King, Cor, would ask the man he managed to outwit and successfully lived aftermath as he wore the Ring of Legend or a hoax.
If Iris pointed out his scars would be adequate and empirically evidence, perhaps it would support their argument. Factually and evidently. Then, the expertise to discuss his planner to the importance of this will spare Noctis.
DING.
Analyzing his left hand dilating his eyes downward to his arm. Hand curling to a fist couple attempts. Corresponding his touch and nerve.
Unbiased from the leaders of Royal Guards, Ignis rope around a few who know, Ravus, for example, based from Prompto and Gladio perspective. His main concern is converse with the Lucian officers. Postively, it would be a course to full well of current situation. Never experienced the changes. During his timeline, he was handicap and remained in Lestallum with Glaives help. Supposed Cor would accept his treason of using the Ring—
"Ignis,"
A deep, somber voice filled the elevator box, accompanied by a very serious expression on his face. Lost in thought, he had forgotten about the elevator gate extending and revealing the immortal figure standing before him, staring intently into his eyes as if trying to decipher something within them.
"You look like hell." Cor said.
"I been through hell, greetings Marshall." Ignis stepped into the metal entrance to the elevator, carefully tread down the stairs casually.
An awkward silence ensued. Eventually, Ignis made a move out of the elevator before it automatically shut on him. Cor never let go of his contact with Scientia as he followed Ignis' heels. Entering the lower level, they found a small living room, complete with a counter, dimly lit atmosphere of evening, a couch in the center, and a view of the sea dock over the railing. Dustin and Monica were standing by the counter, while the Crownsguard, who traveled and protect the king, was not present.
The two approaches dubiously rise to his presence, the leaders of Lucian and old friend of Regis. Cor give an enigmatic stare as Ignis analyzed his surroundings. While Cid rested on the couch, he immediately arch his back forward to notice the advisor's presence in shock. Expecting one failed to arrive as another audience, Weskham, but it'll suffice, at least they will work out. The three perform a small circle in concerned.
"We've been expecting you," Dustin said, calm as always and eyeing him if he was a ghost. Despite the fact that he witnessed the four boys' cruises on Royal Vessel to Altissia weeks ago.
"Yes," Monica added and began, gently placing palm of her hand above her chest in concern. "Please explain what is going on."
Before Ignis performs a presentation, the one who was skeptical about his appearance and call from the former employer, Gladiolus, Cor raised an eyebrow. He would gleaned to extract information from the right hand of the King. Expecting the Shield were together, excluding Prompto and Noctis.
"What and where is Noctis? And may I ask what the hell happened to you and Altissia?" Cor demanded serious expression as he stood beside Monica. Multiple eyes glance to Ignis' direction, suspecting an answer that explain the situation.
"I will explain..." Simple as it may be, Ignis explained the concurrent event that took place after the depart and now. Full detail, no holding back. First start of the battle of Leviatian and assault of Imperials trying to detain the God. Thanks to Noctis countermeasure the God with all the blessing he received from Luna, who passed that was homicide from Ardyn Izunia. Which result grief and hatred of Chancellor actions. So Ignis was on a search to protect Noct at all cost, no other option but to team with Ravus Nox Fleuret, a sister of Lunafreya, cooperate and proceed to Noctis Lucis Caelum, who was unconscious and Ravus held his dear sister one last dearing embrace. Ardyn offers Ignis a vacillate to join or die.
...In result of his capture.
Unravel the truth after apprehended by Empire, he narrow veracity in his journey of encountering The King of Old: Ardyn Lucis Caelum. His personal goal of Vendetta is towards his bloodline. Although, he cut off his timeline where he was from. 10 years ago. The rest was impeccable but slender based on Prompto and Gladio adventure. Ignis also explained their behalf.
Speaking of Gladio, the elevator lift buzz and metal gear shifted to hear the door expanding its gate and reveal the shield exiting while Ignis told stories. Properly greeted Cor along the way of saying his title 'Sir' and strolling behind Dustin, Monica, and Cor. Pardon himself to be on standby as he allows Ignis to direct all scenes to the trusted people. Explaining Noct entered and pointed directly at Amicita and summon Prompto name their course of action with the help of Commanders of Imperials. In conclusion, to top it off today's route.
"I see. So he is the Adagium, after all. So it explains the current events that take place and scars you've gone through. The first king who can also wield royal arms, you say?" Cor asked, scrutinizing the tactician from head to toe.
Ignis nodded.
"So how the hell did you survive if the King is formidable?" Cor serious tone increase in volume.
Ignis has second thought as he switches eye contact to three candidates and Gladio. He didn't mention it due to classification for well-grounded reasons. To disgrace the King and oppose the liege, that is. Ignis swore an oath to protect, not abuse the power. The scar on his face provides less misfortune, difficult to comprehend, and perhaps another example? His left hand he kept examining for quite some time?
Processing substantiated by unequipped his left driver glove and displaying petite marking; imprinted where the Ring of Legend he wore on his middle finger. Engraved design of Knight highlighted on top of web of his middle finger branded lightly. It was rarely noticeable but served evidence. Didn't get the right clarity to check his finger... well, he took them out at night washing dishes, and it was late. He could've guessed or checked. But at least it is legitimate.
To their refute, it was oddly believable. "You wore the Lucii Ring?!" Cor yelled, the face source of distress, a tad of hostile within.
"Indeed, I have used the Ring of Light to fight off Ardyn." Ignis replied to Cor, attempting a conflict-free and courteous manner. Taking granted the rise of his voice. A bad feeling this won't go on his favor.
"Wait of minute," Monica began, gently stepping forward, skeptical of her Crownsguard senior as her eyes shift from the ring branded and Ignis. "The Ring take people life's for wearing it to punish who crave for power and greed. How did you manage to live? The Ring only fit for the King."
"I know for a fact Glaives granted power but cost of their lives as well." Dustin added, eyes furrowed, bewildered especially and eyeballing Ignis left hand. The advisor noticed his study on his hand, so he decided to conceal his hand by slipping back his driver glove. It's pretty humid but slightly breezy dur the top sea breeze, but he prefers to conceal his cursed branded hand due to ring punishment. Though his forehead pores start to develop sweat glands.
That's enough for today. Ignis thought, calm and collected, knowing Dustin is a messenger to designated outpost.
"That's significant to hear you were able to withstand harboring the souls of Lucis. It is strictly forbidden to use such strength." Monica was awe to hear the news. Considering the fact, astonished expression. Especially source of amazement from Dustin. He would gladly report Clarus the news.
As Ignis adjusted his glove rubbing against the moisture hand in high temperature, Cor approached the stage with a face of infuriation and a serious manner. "You have no prowess to wear the Ring, Ignis. If the Yore rejected you, you're good as dead and breaking the protocol." Cor explained, he was not pleased to hear the news. He thought of Ignis betraying Lucis to wear the light's power.
"I will not tolerate any circumstances as a protector of King Noctis until further notice. No exception. We have Kingsglaive betraying our nations and the loss of our capital to obtain such capability."
"Marshall, you cannot—" Ignis pleaded, in utter shock of Cor announcement and direct orders. The sudden sharp turn escalated quickly. He contain his composure and calm.
"Your opinion is unnecessary, Scientia." The Immortal countered, as he curtly Ignis mid speech. He continued throughoutly under his command, "Therefore, I hereby you to stand down your position as a Crownsguard. You are dismissed; don't interfere with the King return."
Well, didn't expect that to happen, huh? Out of all the options, this is not what they imagined a reaction from Cor or the royalty would be. However, Dustin and Monica remain silent to pass judgment on Cor's behalf. As they are complicit in the actions of the Commander of Kingsglaive. He was right. The Citadel fell due to Glaives going rogue and causing a slaughter of many innocent people. They swore to die for the King but were traitors to their own nation.
Leonis wasn't pleased when Clarus excluded Crownsguard on signing and insist to leave the city during the treaty of Niflhiem. It was concluded that Regis sent the prince and the retainers departure. Ensure the Crownsguard submissive to protect the prince, but Ignis became insubordinate to use the ring. The rule that all trusted contracted referrals for the future and their debut.
Gladio's eyes widen, his face grimaces, and he releases his arms from across his abs as he straightens up. The sudden release from his close friend since Noctis introduced them both takes Gladio by surprise. The response from Cor was unexpected. Respected his manner and the protocols of his demeanor, Ignis said lowly tone of burdening. Bowed in respect.
"Yes... Sir." Ignis complied.
"Sir," Gladio beseeching immediately jumped in and interrupted the dispute, meeting his eyes to the Immortal and approach, taking a few steps forward to the small circle. Knowing the discourse of action is happening, he is unable to abide as Ignis was forced and released from his duty. His face drenched in sweat reflected by the dimmed light. "Permission to speak."
"Permission granted." Leonis turn his entire body to the Shield full attention.
"With all due respect, Ignis is not malicious and would never put anyone in harm's way. To consider his aptitude for the Ring of Power for his own personal gain, I witnessed him nearly die... but he had no choice to countenance but to fight off the Chancellor." Gladio interjected, defending his advisor. Ignis remains neutral but surprised on the inside by Gladiolus testimony.
"Bogus," Cor said harshly moderately filled the room as he continued to counter. "Then he's supposed to be dead by now."
"Sir, Ignis provided vital intelligence on who we are up against and the one who caused Insomnia to fall. With that in mind, he is our future and will find a solution to save Noctis. Dismissing Ignis would be nonsensical; he is the Prince's right-hand man." Gladio jumped back, directly to the Immortal with very serious tone and logic.
The glare from Immortal was unbuttoned of perfidious expression intensely to his amber eyes. There was no pleasantly to be played with. Taking no notice of the change, instead headstrong on legacy of Lucis. Bound to accept Noctis as True King, who wrapped around on blight the darkness. "Gladiolus Amicitia, where do you stand?" Leonis ambiguously hissed.
"My lineage belongs to Our Majesty, the Lucis, Sir." Gladio stated, standing firmly and nodding once. His face betrayed his inner wrath, while his teeth were grinding beneath his sealed lips. Both of his hands were curled into fists, shaking convulsively in accordance with his role as a loyal subject.
"Then I ought to sterling your expectations. I'm fully aware who're we ultimately encountered two millennia Accursed. But I will not condemn Ignis with the King." Cor announced, hurled his index finger to the Advisor and return to his state of mature matter.
"I will confess," Ignis began, voice dry as sandpaper woefully. Trying to remain composure. Regrettably, his line of duty role was dismissed and disparaging untimely. The transparent lens behind it was his eyes imploring for forgiveness. His body posture reveals heaviness of heart. "I unruly could not control to lose Noct again. It was... my impulse defiance to overthrown the belligerent of Old. I approach a proposition—a endeavor to avert the destiny to a better yield."
"It's absurd to relieve Ignis from his promise for the future King. If you're going to cut Ignis off, then I'm tapping out." Gladio rise to the audience, lightly brush Ignis behind him and faced Cor the Immortal directly. Ignis startled on sudden actions his friend defended him. Confronting Cor and the officers. Scowling and hinting the choices of officers' despondency.
"So you are making a choice to leave, after all." Cor crippled the Shield response, mighty tone to simplify the obvious.
"There's no more of this, Cor. We'll do this ourselves because we love Noct more than anyone. And I damn know well I'm with Iggy and for our homeland." Gladiolus snapped back to his leader, scowling expression and gestured to Ignis defensively, almost like he lunge himself to Cor and wrestle the man.
The instinct kicked in as Monica urged to hop in with inquiry and undertake their intention. The two seniors of Crownsguard now retired, and she tapped the Immortal left shoulder. Netting his attention to Clarus' best unit. "Marshall, in respect, if the boys are accurate and full well than we do, then Scientia prophesy may be able to benefit us. We can not afford to lose more now, don't we? They came for a meeting, which we should give them an opportunity to allow him a pragmatic approach." Monica whispered beside him, direct eye contact to Cor gray haze pupils.
Cor the Immortal glanced from the Crownguard officer to Ignis. Silently scoping Ignis, head to toe intensely. Clearly, he heard the two retainers and the officer freedom of speech. The votes were at odds; in terms, it was a matter of fact. He eyed the man who had laid out his preferences in advance. "Then tell me, how the hell did you escape death in the Ring?" He snarled explicitly to demand the truth.
"The Crystal. Noct pleaded the Crystal's strength and—we get the picture that Noct achieved his right, reaching ascension." Ignis explained in a strained tone. He was unassertive and had a desperate presence towards the Immortal and the Officers. But he never broke eye contact with the Immortal in the slightest. Making every effort to gain approval and support for the coming of darkness.
"...So the kid is gone, right?" The voice of trivialize Cid spread in suddenly, subjecting the order. The eyes fell flung to Cid, and the aura surrounded the man of sorrow and pain. He knows Noctis fate is sealed, travels with Regis, and shares stories one day. The True King will rise and sacrifice his or her life for the stars... undoubtedly, the kid was chosen. Regis would never want his child to suffer with grief and burden. He wished to enjoy life and travel around Eos with Retainers.
Cid lay back on the yellow-sponge colored sofa and gazed at the unconventional wonders around him. "Let those kids have their chance," he said. "Well, I'll be damned if I ever thought I'd see the day. Regis' boy don't deserve to die."
"Cid, you're with them, I assume?" Cor asked the engineer and retainer of Regis and a friend.
"In due time, Marshall, yer tall with glasses have yer solution to save my ol' friend kid from Astrals influence, say now. In no doubt, I'm all ears and willing to lend these boys my cruddy remaining life here for dee next generations." Cid concurred with validation. Twisting his body to the gathering and motionless to the Crownsguard with confidence, resulting the leaders reconsideration of difficult tasks at hands and misunderstanding.
"Cid, 'preciate the word of wisdom. All of you gotta trust Ignis, and I know he never once to disappoint or report false accusation towards you and everyone." Gladiolus hopped in to add additional benefit towards suspicion peers.
Benefit of the doubt, the one who traveled with the King himself as a companion hooked to save the lad. They were deemed closed, after all. Rising questions and assumptions that Ignis was in the justifiable count. Cid as a man of word untangle the pressured was pleased, on the inside, resulting in a tiny smug of golden answer from the King's friend. He, too, willing to protect Regis if they are in rough times.
Ignis cracked in, stepping forward and shrugging off the circle gathering and pose to Regis friend. Give it one's best shot, the deduction his final sentence. "I promise, I will bring Noct alive and save Eos. You have my word."
Monica noticed how valuable the two were to the Prince, and she could see the strength of their bond in their determination. It was clear they had a strong sense of admiration for each other, which boded well for the future. She knew from experience that when people have such respect for each other, it often leads to positive outcomes. Therefore, she believed that if the young retainer spoke up, there would be a good chance of a successful resolution.
Dustin remained silent to collect enough data and reconfigured reliance between nations and family. Witness both sides. He concurred whichever Monica pressed her approval. Rather, it seems the only option to select since Ignis' potential as he proposed to.
The two Officers nodded each other endorsed, they espy to the Retainers and assent without hesitation and skepticism.
"I promised to look out for his kid, so you betcha I'm hooked, boy. And y'all have darn give a chance to speak. I gotchu, just lemme have 'em." Cid concurred, comtemplating and countered the highest rank of Crownsguard officers.
"Thank you, Sophiar." Ignis smiled and thanked the engineer with genuine gratitude.
The retired Hammerhead engineer hummed and sank deeper into the couch.
Now, visions sweep to the one who leads the Crownsguard. Gladio rises, easing the altercation and terminating his behalf. Glaring deeply into the Immortal eyes with zestful, ambitious attraction with glossy tone of righteousness. "I'm doing this for Noct and span of Eos humanity into safeguard of us, Sir."
With simultaneous approbation among considerations factoring into his declaration, it was a losing battle for Cor. The Immortal had to reassess the whole meaning of purpose and instruct the units on clarifying their responsibility. Amicitia was right about the King of Old. Without their statistics, the will of the retainers, the devotion to Lucis, would be eradicated if the monster were to roam in Eos and the end of Lucis. Despite the fact, in true reality Ignis ventured and forced to burden the choices he was lead to. Noiselessly, they looked for Cor's pledge where he stood.
Observing the best people around the sphere, it was transparent the crew have agreed in unison and awaited for his approval. He recollect the conversation if Ignis proposed an alternative route to save the King rightful successor to the throne and full power of Eos Crystal, then it was finalized.
In a moment of silence, Cor deposited his response and looked upon Ignis once more. The face of resignation and a calm tone accompanied the words, "I apologize for my outburst, Ignis." He continued, "But I must ask you, what is your counsel on this matter?"
The situation took a turn for the better. The crew had a commitment to unify with Ignis's proposal. It took a strenuous and appalling amount of discussion, but with earnest respect and majority votes, they were willing to unite as those who knew they were destined to live their lives together. As Ignis managed to quell the intense argument with the help of Gladio, he seemed to make it clear and exemplary to announce the roles for each upper units.
"Dustin, if you may, your talent will execute to deliver information to outpost. That way, we can keep contact with hunters and Glaives who willingly support Eos and humanity." Ignis turned to the trusted officer who protected Iris, and Talcott evacuated them to Lestallum. Dustin didn't offer any objection and simply interest the role.
"Monica, your culinary expertise will nurture and grow our establishment in the new base of Lestallum. Your talents of combat greatly increase the safety of civilians. Your protection will be appreciated by many bystanders." Ignis describes Monica potential role.
Clarus knew Monica considered herself the best, and he saw her as his shield. As an officer, she was perceptive and protective of civilians. Her unique ability to notify others made her a valuable asset to humanity. "I would love that," she said, smiling softly and warmly, filling the room with light despite the dimmed lights.
Ignis turn 90 degrees to Cid, along with other follow his movement. "Cid, your talent to forge weaponry and increase offensive stats to hunters and Glaives alike. Your experience with forging could be of great support."
Cid nodded.
"And Marshall," Ignis hesitantly aims to express his confidence to the Immortal, bust a gust as he said. "Protect everyone from daemons and pride for our new base. Make pride for Lestallum."
Ten seconds had passed since Ignis instructed his leader with authority. Slowly approaching and taking a few steps ahead, he faced the tactician. His solemn look and gaze upon the numerous respectful units around him for his acknowledgment.
In return, he reacted in a soothing, petite manner. "Don't disappoint me."
"Thank you, Marshall."
The man didn't express any emotion, instead turning his back away and deciding to relieve himself of the sudden tension. A man on a mission who was precise and accurate, now averted to Ignis's proposal. In conclusion, Cor Leonis also agreed that he wanted Noctis alive. Glancing at the sea and docks, processing his decision.
It seems the boys are back in routine as Retianers for the King's promise.
Monica and Dustin thanked Ignis and bowed to excuse themselves from the duo. They headed back to the counter and began cleaning and packing slowly and steadily. Regular routine to appliances and waved farewell to the retainers. They were still waiting for Wesham's arrival, but it seemed to be taking longer than usual.
According to Ignis' memory, Weskham stayed at the lighthouse while the officers went to Lestallum. This decision followed Ignis' ideal to support and save millions of lives. There was no need to waste watts on the lighthouse when it could generate watts through the windmill wind renewable resources.
Ignis approached his shield, which defended him in battle and disputes. Eyes glued to the tank, he spoke with gratitude and eventually broke the bubble of space between them.
"Gladio, my appreciation is at its utmost for your actions. Thank you." Ignis grinned.
Ignis highly thanked the Shield. Despite the fact that Gladiolus blunted to Prompto with new fonding of warp, though, not throughoutly tested, it was practical and short notice. Not believing to permit Gladio speak on his permission, but this situation, he volunteered because close connection and vowed to save Noctis. He was truly blessed to have Gladio with him.
If he wasn't present, then it would be unfortunate event. Ignis didn't predict the consequences, believing the officers would followed suit when he offered an alternative to save Noctis, their future King.
Gladiolus lightly bumped his right shoulder to his friend bicep and gestured to the elevator. It seems they have accomplished here and proceeded to exit themselves, and Ignis traced his heels in moments. While walking side by side, the gate opened and the two entered and smash the button. Gladiolus pressed to ascend above floor one, the tank leaned close and whispered.
"You have my back; in return, I've got yours."
A/N- So this is pretty long. Based on how I think of, it's a rule that the Lucis should never wear the ring. Not expecting Cor to dismiss him huh. I actually enjoyed writing this a lot. Also, Gladio and Ignis moment and I'm posititve everyone get the attention.
Thanks for reading (or don't. Lurk and go to FFXVI, which I don't blame them.) Next chapter will speed things up. Skipping road trip lol.
