Hey guys! It's time for another chapter! I'm really enjoying writing this story because I love these characters so much. They're making a sequel to the game so I'm really looking forward to that. This chapter might be another chill chapter and then will probably include the beginning of Kashyyyk. I hope you guys have enjoyed the story so far! If you have, don't be afraid to leave a review and let me know what you think of it! Thanks for reading and here's the chapter!

Ch. 9: Sleep and Exercise

(Luna's POV)

The hot water of the shower was such a blessing after the day we just had. I looked down at my naked body, and saw that the water going in the drain was both red and brown from the blood and dirt that was on me. I grimaced and figured that the blood was a mixture of both mine and a stormtrooper's. I took a real beating today; Cal even more so. I think that if I was alone helping Cere and Greez I wouldn't make it. That makes me sound useless, but I really just mean I cherish Cal and BD-1 company with me. We're the perfect team, and they make everything seem less stressful than it actually is. What makes it even better is that they're so easy to talk to. I feel like we're getting closer and closer each day.

Which is amazing!

I kinda sorta destroyed my life on Hosnian Prime, so this is my new life; exploring the universe on The Mantis. I'm really liking how my relationship with Greez and Cere is progressing too! They're feeling more like mentors to me than simple friends. Obviously though, Cal is my favorite person on the ship. He's the coolest guy I've ever met, and he's so nice. I can't imagine him ever being mean to me. He must be protected at all costs! It also helps that he's experienced the same as me with Order 66. I can't tell you how good it was to talk to someone about it after 5 years of silence. It wasn't like I was going to bring it up with any of my co-workers at the bar I used to work at. All they cared about was guys, clothes, and makeup. After a while, that got old. But last and not least, BD-1 is the cutest robot I've ever seen! The way he moves around and beeps like a dog is adorable! His jokes aren't bad either!

I smiled before realizing I was still in the shower trying to clean myself. I got lost in the moment there thinking about everyone. Grabbing the shampoo and conditioner, I scrubbed them in my hair, and let the water rinse me clean. It felt so good to be clean again. Zeffo was cool and all, but horrible for my well-being. I washed my body next, and was soon out of the shower drying myself. I decided to put on the most comfortable clothing I had, which was a t-shirt and a pair of sporty shorts. The shorts were a little on the short side, no pun intended, but I didn't think it would be a problem. I put my hair in a messy fishtail braid and exhaled.

I am officially relaxed now.

My stomach growled, breaking the quietness of the room, and I put my hand on my stomach. Well, maybe not totally relaxed...Greez said he was making smoked kaadu ribs, and I was ready for them. I exited my room and saw that Cal beat me to the table. His red hair was wet, so he must've just gotten done with his shower too. When he saw me come in from the hallway he smiled.

"You feel better now? And your hair looks good," he said. See? He's so freaking nice!

"Thank you! Yes, I'm refreshed and free of any sweat, blood, or dirt," I said with a grimace. He let out a short laugh as I sat down next to him. Greez was busy cooking the kaadu ribs on the grill. Cere was at the other end of the table, and was writing some notes down on a piece of paper.

"What are you doing, Cere?" I asked her out of curiosity. She glanced up at me and smiled a little.

"Oh, I'm just jotting down some Imperial messages I managed to hear through the comms."

"Any word on another Jedi survivor?" Cal asked.

"Unfortunately no, but I do know the location of some valuable goods the Empire is focusing their manpower on. They could be useful to us and could keep us going in the future. We're not tight on money but it's an option that will be open to us."

That was good. I don't want Cere and Greez to worry about money because of me. I'll do whatever I can to make sure they are well stocked on essentials as long as I'm with them.

"Can you imagine? Hundreds of treasure chests full of money! Thousands of jewels scattered around them! I could get the ship repainted with that kind of money!" Greez said to us with moneybags in his eyes. Cal grinned at the man and pointed at himself and me.

"Luna and I could repaint The Mantis. We're more than capable and it would be a lot cheaper."

Greez stared at him and then scoffed.

"Nah, I'll take the money."

Cal's grin fell to a scowl and I consoled him by patting his arm. Cere put down her pen and looked at me.

"Luna, how has your time with us been? I know it's all been a little crazy getting used to jumping from planet to planet, but it's been almost a week since you joined the crew. Is there anything we can do to make it better?" she asked me with genuine concern. I widened my eyes and shook my head.

"N-No! Everything is perfect! It's been great being with you guys. On my planet, I felt like every day was a drag on my life. But ever since you let me join you, I've felt like I'm free to breathe for once. Another thing is that, on my planet, I could only afford to live in a group home with all these women I didn't know. It was weird and awkward all the time. With you four, I don't feel awkward when talking to you," I told them.

"I second that," Cal said beside me. Cere smiled and looked relieved.

"I'm glad you feel that way. We all have to help each other out, and create a place we can call home. But if you do have a problem or a question for me, Luna, don't be afraid to ask," she finished. I nodded my head.

"I will, thank you!"

Greez, who had been cooking this whole time, turned around with a plate full of ribs in his hands. He set the plate on the table along with some sides like corn and mashed potatoes. He smirked at his fine cooking skills and held his four arms out.

"Alright, enough with the sappy talk, dig in!"

He didn't have to tell me twice. I was starving after the day we just had. I tried not to look like a pig while eating my ribs, but what can you do? They were really good!

"This is amazing, Greez!"

"Thank you, thank you. My ribs are the best in the galaxy," he said back to me. He then looked behind my shoulder at the ship's terrarium and pointed at it with his fork.

"That terrarium over there is starting to look like an actual terrarium. Good job for adding plants to it."

I turned in my seat to look at it and a new plant was starting to grow inside the glass box. BD-1 must have collected a new plant seed while on Zeffo. He was sitting in between Cal and I so I patted his head affectionately.

"Good job, BD."

He beeped a 'your welcome' at me, and I continued eating my food. Cal had finished his dinner and glanced at me.

"So, what do you want to do while we're waiting to get to Kashyyyk?"

I thought about it as he put his plate in the sink.

"First, I think we should sleep in. That sounds like the best thing in the world right now. Then we can...work out?"

He laughed at that last part and gave me a questioning look.

"Work out?"

"Yeah, I feel like this dinner may or may not have added five pounds, so we need to exercise those pounds off."

"Luna, you're super fit. You shouldn't worry about being unhealthy," he said with a laugh. I looked at Greez and decided to prove a point.

"Greez, how many calories would you say is in this meal?"

"Probably 2000 to 3000 calories I'd say, and a lot of fat," he added with a snicker. I looked back at Cal and raised my eyebrow.

"You were saying?"

"Alright, you win," he said with a look of guilt on his face. I knew he was worried about the meal too! He sat back down and I finished my meal with a smile. I thanked Greez for the food as I was putting my plate in the sink. I washed it real quick and set it on the dish rack to dry.

"What are you two going to do?" I asked Cere and Greez. Typically, Cal and I will hang out with each other, and Greez and Cere will do their own thing. Greez spoke up first.

I got the ship on auto pilot to Kashyyyk, so tomorrow I'm going to work on some ship designs for a repainting. The grey is not eye popping to me anymore. I'm thinking the ship could be a nice yellow or a dark blue. I haven't decided. It's gonna be great when I finish it though! You'll see!" He told me, looking extremely excited. It made me happy knowing he had something that was actually interesting to him and brought him joy. Moving on to Cere, she had other plans.

"If you don't mind, I'd like to spend time with BD-1 tomorrow. Over the course of your journey together, he's revealed several holograms of master Cordova. I'd like to watch and study them for myself," she told us. Cal looked down at BD-1 from his seat.

"Fine with us. That okay with you, BD?"

BD-1 hopped in place and made a sound that sounded like he was okay with it.

"Excellent! I can't wait to see what Cordova has to say! However, I will agree with you that today has been a long day," Cere said to me with a stretch of her arms. "...I think I will sleep in as well."

She stood up from the table and walked to the hallway. She told everyone goodnight and then went to her room. Greez turned to Cal and crossed his arms.

"Alright, kid. What did you think of tonight's meal?"

Cal slowly smiled and closed his eyes to think of a witty answer. He opened them back up and gave Greez his response.

"I'd say the meal was a 10/10. However, due to the high calorie and fat count, it's a 5/10. Sorry, I don't make the rules."

I laughed behind my hand and Greez began to fume.

"Five points! Five points taken off because it's not the healthiest meal? Come on! There's gotta be some limit to how much you can take off!"

"Uhhh yeah, the limit is 10. One point off for belligerent behavior."

Before Greez could get any madder I chimed in.

"I thought it was a 10 out of 10. No points taken off."

Greez's temper disappeared like magic and he patted me on the shoulder.

"You know, Cal, Luna is so ahead of you as my favorite that I'm not sure you can even catch up now."

I showed Cal the most snarky expression I could muster, and he tightened his fists at his sides.

"Oh yeah? Alright, I'm going to be the best person you've ever met from now on. I'm going to be your favorite and that's that," he decided, crossing his arms.

"Don't flatter me, kid. You couldn't go five seconds without being a smartass," Greez argued.

"Okay, watch this. One...two...three...four...five…See? I did it."

I face palmed and Greez let out a huge laugh. It was the loudest laugh I think I've heard from him ever since I've been on the ship.

"Keep working on it, kid. I'm going to bed."

He waved to us as he headed towards his room. Cal cursed under his breath and I giggled.

"Don't worry, I'm sure you can get better at it somehow."

I stood up from the table and stretched with a yawn. That dinner meal only made me more tired than I already was. I knew that as soon as my head hit the pillow I would be out for the night. I patted Cal on the arm and smiled.

"We'll work on it together tomorrow. I think that if you act towards Greez the way you act with me then you'll be his favorite!"

"Ha, I don't see that ever happening," he said with a sigh. "...you headed to bed too?" he asked, changing the subject. I nodded and yawned again. I seriously couldn't help it at this point.

"Yep. Why? Did you want to do something together?"

He shrugged with a smile.

"I don't know, anything's cool with you. But if you're really tired, you should get some rest."

I looked down at the ground and brushed some hair behind my ear.

"Thanks, Cal. I'd love to just chill, but I feel like I might pass out any second now. But tomorrow we'll hang out all day and do whatever, I promise! Sound like a plan?" I asked, moving towards the hallway with my hands behind my back. He grinned and nodded his head.

"Yeah, sounds good to me. Goodnight, Luna."

"Cool, and goodnight, Cal," I said back to him and then looked down at BD-1. "...and goodnight, BD."

BD-1 told me goodnight back and I retreated back to my room. A few seconds later, I heard Cal's bedroom door open and close. He's precious, he really is. With a sigh of content, I plopped down on my bed and got under the covers. The warmth of the sheets felt so good on my skin and the softness of it was heavenly. As soon as I closed my eyes, I fell into a deep sleep. Hopefully Cal is able to get some rest too.

My eyes fluttered open to see my arm resting next to my face. I took a deep breath through my nose and looked at the time. I had been asleep for around nine hours. Nine hours of pure bliss. I don't remember the dream I had but it wasn't a nightmare. That much I know. I could go back to sleep, but if I did it would be dinnertime by the time I woke back up. I got out of bed slowly and did the usual routine; showered, styled my hair, picked out my clothes, and brushed my teeth. I stepped outside my room and heard Cal in the kitchen. Hmm, he beat me to breakfast today. I walked into the kitchen area, and saw that he was pouring some milk in his cereal. Instead of a regular shirt or...ugh...a poncho...he was actually wearing a grey sleeveless hoodie. The hoodie showed off his biceps and arms in general. It also stuck to his body tighter than a normal shirt would so you could see the outline of his chest and abdomen. I'd be lying if I said he didn't look good in that hoodie. He definitely had the perfect Jedi build. I think he caught me staring because he gave me a funny look.

"Morning, sleepyhead. What's up?"

"N-Nothing, I was just surprised by what you're wearing is all," I said frantically. He chuckled and finished pouring the milk in his cereal.

"You said you wanted to work out today so I put on my workout clothes."

"Oh yeah, I completely forgot about that. That makes sense."

I sat at the table and looked around. It was just the two of us, and no one was in the cockpit like they usually were. Cal sat next to me and began eating slowly.

"Where is everyone?"

"Hmm? Oh, Cere and BD-1 are in her room studying Cordova's messages. Greez is in his room working on ship designs," he said. I could tell he was still a little tired from waking up.

"Damn, I forgot about that too! I think I was so exhausted yesterday that my memory disappeared with my consciousness when I fell asleep," I explained. Cal snorted and looked at me.

"Did you sleep well at least?"

I smiled and rubbed my eyes.

"Yes, it was so good, Cal. I slept like a rock. What about you?"

"Same for me. I didn't want to get up but I knew you would be disappointed if I hadn't," he said with a grin. I grinned back at him and decided to get something to eat. Opening the fridge, I saw a small cup of strawberry yogurt sitting on the shelf so I went with that.

"You were correct in thinking that. Since I forgot, I didn't dress for it, so I need to change into my workout clothes. On my planet, I used to go to the gym after work every day. It was part of my routine."

"I went to the gym sometimes too. Though, my job was basically a gym of its own. The amount of shit I had to do physically was ridiculous. It was super dangerous too. I wish I had the option to become a server like you did," he chuckled. I thought about all the bad moments of my job and cringed.

"I don't know, some days I would have rather risked my life for a job rather than deal with the customers. Some of them were so mean to me. But you know me, I was still nice to them."

He frowned as he finished his breakfast.

"How could anyone be mean to you?"

"You would be surprised. I think people looked at me and saw me as this vulnerable, innocent girl that they could take advantage of. It was really annoying, and I remember crying on my way home a lot. I'm just a sensitive person I guess."

Cal gave me a deepened look, his green eyes staring into mine.

"I'm sorry, Luna. I wish I could've been there to cheer you up. That, or deal with the people who were mean to you."

"Thanks, Cal. I could've used someone to talk to back then but that's the past. You would think I would make more friends in five years, but I'm horrible at being social outside of work," I laughed.

"I only had a handful of friends, and all of them were from work. I felt like it was dangerous to put myself out there for people, so I stayed to myself most of the time. It was pretty lonely...but now I have you guys," he said with a smile, straying away from the depressing subject of us not having any friends. He's talked to me about his best friend that died on Bracca, but I know he doesn't like to talk about it. I don't want to force him to remember things like that.

"Yeah, same for me," I replied back happily. He leaned back in his seat and looked over at the hologram table in the living room of the ship. The potential planets we could go to find Cordova's messages were floating around the hologram every couple minutes. I noticed where he was looking, and looked over at the hologram table as well.

"Where do you think we're going after Kashyyyk? There's Dathomir but...I'm really not excited about that planet at all."

"Me neither. I've only heard bad things about it. Kashyyyk isn't any better probably. Why couldn't Cordova have gone to a shopping planet? I could definitely explore a world that's just a humongous shopping mall!" I exclaimed. Can you imagine? I would freaking lose it! Cal fought the urge to laugh.

"Too bad we don't have any money."

"Yeah, but it would still be fun to look around!" I argued.

"Yeah, I guess you're right. Do you think they have a poncho planet?"

I groaned and stood up from the table.

"I hope not. You ready to work out?"

"It would be your favorite planet if it exists and yeah."

He stood up too as I rolled my eyes. The both of us went downstairs where the washer and dryer were to work out. There was enough room to exercise so it was the perfect spot for two people. Due to the fact that we had just eaten breakfast, we waited a few more minutes before we did anything.

"Weren't you going to change into your workout clothes?" Cal suddenly asked me before we started stretching. My eyes widened and I nodded.

"Oh, you're right! Be right back."

I rushed to my room and rummaged through my bag for my workout clothes. I typically wore a grey and black sports bra with matching leggings. Grabbing a hair tie, I put my hair in a ponytail so it wouldn't get in my face. I looked in the mirror when I had gotten everything on and hesitated for a moment. This outfit was a little more revealing than what I usually wore. My top not only showed some cleavage, but it also showed my stomach. My arms were bare as well.

Will Cal act weird if I wear this during our workout? Nah!

I left my room and went downstairs where Cal was stretching one arm over the other. When he saw me, his face went completely red and his eyes went big. Okay, maybe he will act weird after all…

"That's really...I-I mean...Those are your workout clothes?" he asked after stuttering a couple times. I looked down at myself and laughed nervously.

"Yes? Should I go change? I was kind of afraid that it showed too much skin, but I wore this all the time at the gym back on Hosnian Prime."

I went to go back upstairs but he stopped me.

"N-No! You look good! Sorry, I was...You're just really fit, Luna," he laughed, the crimson in his face lingering for a few more seconds. I could feel my own cheeks heat up at the compliment.

"Thank you and that's okay. You're really fit too, Cal!" I said, praising him back.

"Well, remember during Jedi training? They had us train every single day, so naturally we're all at least somewhat toned. What did you want to start with?"

I thought about it for a moment and a few things popped up in my head.

"Jumping jacks, push-ups, planks, crunches, squats, and lunges. We need to work off that dinner from last night."

He laughed and continued to stretch.

"Right."

I smiled and began stretching myself. Don't want to pull anything and make myself look like a total dork. After stretching, we decided to start with jumping jacks. We were both going to do 500 jumping jacks. I began first and Cal followed my lead. Looking at Cal doing jumping jacks with me made me want to laugh for some reason so I started giggling.

"What?" he asked with a chuckle.

"I don't know, I can't help it!" I told him. I'm so weird. The two of us counted out loud until we got to 500 jumping jacks. At around 300 my arms and legs were starting to hurt. At 500, I felt like going back to bed all over again.

"Nice job! Now, push-ups," Cal said. We dropped to the floor and did 200 push-ups. Okay, I'm sweating now. I looked at Cal and he was beginning to sweat as well. My arms ached but it felt good to work out. The squats and lunges went okay as we had reached the hour mark. I know we just woke up not too long ago but a nap sounded nice right about now.

"You okay?" Cal asked as we transitioned to crunches.

"Yep! You?" I asked back.

"Yeah, I'm good."

We spent another hour doing crunches, planks, and some other exercises Cal suggested. By that point, we were too tired to do anything else.

"I think we worked off that dinner," he panted with his hands on his hips.

"I think so too," I said back, trying to catch my breath. We took a towel that was sitting on top of the dryer and then went upstairs to get a drink of water. I dried myself off and drank a ton of water before I finally felt like myself again.

"That was fun! Tiring, but fun," I told Cal as I walked to the living room and let myself fall on the couch.

"Yeah, I'm glad we did it. My body feels like it's being weighed down by a thousand bricks though," he said, plopping on the couch on the other side of the living room. I smiled and laid my head down on the couch cushion. It felt so soft against my head. Looking at Cal, I could see that his eyes were slowly starting to close. He was falling asleep. I might as well take a nap too. I closed my eyes and moved myself deeper into the couch for warmth.

I opened my eyes and sat up lazily from the couch. The lights in the living room were off, so it was kind of hard to see in the dark. We must have slept a good bit. I did say I wanted to sleep today...Glancing over at Cal, I saw that he was still fast asleep on the couch. He was sleeping on his stomach and one of his arms was hanging over the side of the couch. I got up from my side and yawned quietly. I still wanted to sleep…

I walked to the hallway and looked back at Cal. He looked so peaceful sleeping right now. He would look even more peaceful if I got him a pillow and blanket. I opened his bedroom door and found BD-1 resting on Cal's desk. I hope he had a good day with Cere. I carefully grabbed a pillow and Cal's bed comforter so I wouldn't wake the cute robot up. I walked back to the living room and laid the comforter over the red headed boy. I brought my fingertips to the back of his head and lifted gently to place the pillow under it. That should make his sleep a little better. When I turned to go to my room, I felt his hand touch my arm. Looking back at him, his eyes were open but just barely.

"L-Luna?" he whispered.

"Shit, I'm sorry, Cal. I got a pillow and blanket and tried not to wake you up," I whispered back. He gave me a smile and shifted his body onto his back.

"Thanks for that...See you tomorrow."

His eyes closed again and he fell back asleep that instant. I smiled after seeing that and headed off for my room.

"Sweet dreams," I whispered to him. Going back to my room, I slipped into my bed and sighed. I know it feels like the day was wasted but not really. We ate, worked out, and slept. That's a good day in my book. And now I'm about to do some more sleeping.

I woke up to the sudden jolt of the ship. Rubbing my eyes, I got out of bed, and poked my head out of the door. From the hallway, I could see that we had finally reached Kashyyyk. We were kind of just sitting on the outer edge of the planet's vicinity in case any imperial ships were around. I quickly got a shower in and got ready for the new adventure. I should have washed up yesterday after working out, but I was so tired that I crashed. After finally getting ready, I walked out of the room, only to bump into Cal's chest.

"Oh! Sorry!"

"No, that's my bad," he said with a nervous laugh escaping his lips. We had left our rooms at the same time. I looked up at him and could see that he was refreshed after last night.

"Did you sleep okay?" I asked with a soft smile. He grinned and nodded.

"Yeah! Best sleep I've had in a while. That reminds me, thanks for giving me a pillow and blanket," he said, rubbing the back of his head.

"It's no problem, Cal. You'd do the same for me. You ready to explore Kashyyyk?"

He gave me an excited look and nodded.

"You know it!"

He motioned the both of us to go to the cockpit where the others were. Walking to the front of the ship, Cere, Greez, and BD-1 were already there waiting for us. Cere was connecting to Imperial comms again and Greez was in the pilot seat. When he noticed Cal and I, he started clicking multiple buttons and switches.

"Alright, kids, get in your seats and get ready to enter this disaster of a planet."

Cal sat in the seat next to Greez and I sat in the chair across from Cere that Greez had put in for me. I strapped my seatbelt in and got ready to explore an entirely new planet. I'm so excited!

And that is the end of the chapter! This is another fun chapter so I hope you liked it! I definitely added a lot more flirting in this chapter so that was fun to include. If you like the story, please consider leaving a review or comment about it. If you'd like to draw Luna and Cal I would freaking love to see that and I would probably include it as the cover picture for the chapter on wattpad and quotev, as well as give you credit! Finally, thanks for reading and I'll see you guys next time!
