Season 2: Episode 12

Kyle smiled lightly to himself as he got dressed, ready for his date with Sophie. He was dressed up casually since it was just a casual kind of date. So he was wearing cargo shorts, a red T-shirt and a red backwards baseball cap, a pair of white socks and black sneakers.

'Well, here we go, time to get going, can't wait to see Sophie...'

Just the thought of it made his smile widen into an actual grin as he finished getting ready and left his room, heading downstairs. His mother looked up and saw him and smiled.

"Ah Kyle, going out with Sophie I take it?" She said pleasantly.

Kyle nodded. "Yeah mom, we're just...it's a casual date but we're looking forward to it all the same."

Cindy nodded. "Okay...sure I can't give you a lift?"

"No, we were gonna take advantage of the nice day, we were just gonna walk and meet up at the restaurant." Kyle explained.

Cindy nodded in acceptance. Still smiling, Kyle grabbed everything else he needed and left the house, ready to go on his date.

Standing in her room, in her well-off family's obviously expensive house, Sophie looked at herself in the mirror, she smiled, wondering just what her family would think about what she had planned for the night.

'This is it, oh I can't wait, this is actually pretty funny if my family really did find out, they'd be confused as to why I'm even going there. Would they, freak out?' She wondered equal parts nervous and hopeful.

She was clad in simply casual clothes herself, a pair of pink mid-thigh shorts with a white casual blouse and pink flats, really showing her long slender legs. Taking a deep breath she grabbed what she needed and now came the hard part, sneaking out. She eased her door opened and listened, nothing, not a sound. She peeked her head out, there was, surprisingly, no sign of anyone. Taking this chance she slipped out and began to head for the front door, she had made it across the corridor, down the stairs and right up to the door.

"Sophie?"

She turned, biting her lip. "Mom, I...I just..."

To her great surprise her mother stood there, eyes wide.

Swallowing nervously she quickly explained. "I'm just...I have a date tonight and..."

"Oh, I see, that's...that's wonderful." She replied with a warm smile. She then looked Sophie up and down. "Sophie, are you sure you-?"

Sophie shook her head. "No mom, it's fine, I'm just...it's a casual date, we just wanted to spend a night together."

Her mother seemed relieved at that. "Well, okay, you go and have fun...Now, you better not keep Kyle waiting."

Sophie started at that.

"Don't worry, I have no intentions of telling your father yet, I have seen the pair of you together you know." She explained. "Now on you go, you have fun but you'll have to tell you father yourself you know."

Sophie shifted, blushing slightly. "Um, okay...thanks?"

"Of course, now, you have fun tonight." She said warmly.

Sophie smiled, feeling reassured and nodded. "Okay, I...thanks mom."

Sophie couldn't help but feel more relieved than ever. So, smiling widely and feeling more confident, Sophie made her way to the door of the home and then, with one more deep breath, she left, ready for the date.

Arriving at the restaurant Sophie grinned as she saw Kyle.

"Hey Sophie." Clem greeted.

Sophie grinned. "Oh, wow, you look, you look good."

Kyle winked. "Thanks, so do you."

"Thanks" Sophie replied, blushing but secretly thrilled that her choice of attire showed off her legs, Kyle couldn't help his eyes wandering slightly.

Grinning, Sophie took Kyle's hand and they began to walk inside. She still couldn't believe that she was actually going out for food at a fast food restaurant of all places. She had actually suggested it, somewhat jokingly, explaining to Kyle that her respectable family didn't approve of such places, but she truly didn't care. Kyle then said that instead of joking about it, maybe they should do it and she just laughed and agreed.

They soon paid and got their food and sat down at a table and began to eat. As they did, Sophie bit her lip, pondering.

"So um...after we're done eating, wanna go stargazing?"

Kyle laughed softly. "You know that sounds pretty cool...actually, I've got an idea."

Now Sophie couldn't deny, she was curious. But Kyle wouldn't say anymore so she knew she'd have to wait. Finally, after they finished eating and dumping their trash, washing up in the bathrooms and reuniting, they left.

"Okay, here we go, ready?" Kyle queried.

Sophie nodded. "Alright then, sounds good to me."

Kyle smirked. "Okay, here we go."

With that they stepped out into the pleasant early night air and began to walk down the street, heading to the location Kyle had in mind and Kyle had his arm around Sophie while she rested her head on his shoulder.

Sophie couldn't keep the grin off her gaze as she and Kyle lay back, staring up at the stars, she had no idea such a viewpoint was even in the town She reached over and closed her hand over Kyle's. He turned his head towards her, smiling.

"You sure know how to make a date memorable Kyle." She joked.

Kyle laughed. "Thought you'd like it, I actually found it one night and I just thought you'd like it after you told me about your interest in astronomy."

Sophie joined in the laughter, moving a little closer to Kyle, the two of them lost in their moment of happiness and love and then, their lips met and they kissed.
