Season 2: Episode 13

The girls smiled lightly as they chatted amongst themselves when they left school. They got a few sympathetic glances from some of the other students but did their best to ignore them. They knew that as far as everyone else was concerned, Clem was dead and they offered some form of sympathy to the girls. The girls knew they had to play this up as best as they could and therefore they had done something they had only done once before and even Violet had to admit, she was getting used to wearing skirts, for they were dressed in Clem's style again, wearing their own varying versions of schoolgirl uniforms.

"Wow, you looks great, Becca, you too Violet, trust me, you guys rock these outfits." Brody remarked with a reassuring smile.

Violet rolled her eyes. "Yeah, maybe...but it's me, you know I don't do skirts...not like you and Sarah, you guys look natural in it."

Sarah laughed softly. "Oh c'mon, you look great. Right Becca."

"Yeah, I mean, I'm not used to skirts except my cheer skirt, but c'mon Vi, you look amazing." Becca agreed.

Violet sighed and shook her head. "You still wear those shorts, you guys are used to showing your legs."

The other girls just laughed while Violet glanced down at herself and then glanced around at her friends outfits.

Becca was in a red mid-thigh skirt; a white long sleeve blouse; a red and gold tie with white below knee socks and black pumps. Sarah was clad in a blue mid-thigh skirt; a white long sleeved blouse; a blue and grey striped tie under a white sweater vest; white below knee socks and black Mary-Janes. Meanwhile Brody wore a blue and white plaid mid-thigh skirt; a black belt with silver buckle; a white blouse; blue below knee socks and black pumps. Finally Violet herself was wearing a grey mid-thigh pleated skirt; a blue long sleeve blouse with lighter blue below knee socks and black pumps. She shook her head and tried to push it out of her mind, she supposed the other girls were right, they all looked good like this and she was sure Clementine would certainly approve of what they were wearing had she been present. But still, she felt self-conscious showing her legs like this and tugged on the hem of her skirt.

"Um...is he trying to get our attention?" Sarah asked suddenly.

The others girls followed her gaze to see a man standing nearby. He looked frantic and worried, as well as somewhat shifty but he was indeed gesturing over to them. They were wary but still approached, taking some solace in that he did not appear to be leering at them in their schoolgirl attire at least. The man appeared to be in his thirties, pale with short side-swept brown hair, hazel eyes and slightly built, dressed casually in jeans, a grey shirt and black shoes. Once they reached the man he looked around and then spoke, his voice was soft and even.

"You girls are Violet Adlon, Becca, Jones, Brody Burress and Sarah Chaikin, right?" He asked.

They immediately tensed, he knew their names.

Shaking his head, knowing how they were clearly freaked and explained.

"Lily told me about you guys. I work with her...although we don't quite agree on a fair few points." The man explained to them. "My name is Chapman, I saw you entering school today and saw that car you told Lily about."

They gasped and Becca spoke up. "Wait, the car...it was here?"

"Yes, it drove off however when I tried to get close...But I think whoever was driving was trying to get to you." He continued.

"They have for a while." Violet admitted. "Can't understand why."

Chapman shook his head. "Maybe it has something to do with Clementine. Lily told me you're aware she's alive. Well, she is...and I'm worried she's in danger."

"Danger?" Sarah echoed.

"Yes." Chapman confirmed. "Whoever is behind that car is most likely the one who caused her to disappear. The one who is after her...maybe he's after you four as well."

That certainly left the girls concerned, but there was something else which concerned Violet.

"Wait, all that is pretty freaky yeah, but...why are you telling us this?" She asked.

Chapman seemed uneasy, but then sighed and glanced around again.

"I just...I want to help you, to find a way to end this threat and help you see your friend again." He explained at last.

That was certainly not what they expected.

They shared a wary look and it was clear that they were wary of him, not sure they could trust him. But they had little choice, especially since while they had stepped back from looking into things themselves, any chance to get news on what was happening to Clementine would be welcome, especially since Lily was not forthcoming with talking to them.

"Well, okay...if you want to help us, we'll accept that, at least accept that you want to help." Brody said at last.

"Fair enough." Chapman said with a shrug. "Listen, I have to go, I promise if I find any important information, I'll let you know...but be careful around Lily, okay."

"Careful around Lily?" Sarah asked. "Why are you...you're working with her?"

"Which is why I'm telling you. She's not being completely honest with you, that's why I think Clementine is in danger, she's not as safe as Lily claims." Chapman explained.

With that he nodded and walked off, leaving the four girls to look at each other and wonder. They quietly agreed that things certainly seemed to be dangerous now, but they had to take any lead they could get, so, they decided to wait and just focus on trying to enjoy the days ahead, especially Brody who has something big planned with Gabe for that weekend.
