Michi sat in his living room, with his arm wrapped in bandages and splinted off, he slowly sat up, leaning towards his little sister, who was watching one of her favorite Child Hero shows.
"This boy seems to be hurt! What should we do?"
Eriko smiled as she answered confidently
"Take them to the hospital!"
Michi watched in amusement as his sister continued to answer the television, as if it could hear her. Suddenly, the creaking noise of the mail box being opened, and slipping of paper, and a heavy smack hit the ground. Michi turned his head, noticing the UA Insignia on the letter. With a curious, but cautious expression, Michi slowly lifted the letter, unsure if he wanted to open it yet, if at all.
"I basically bombed that damn written portion. With that... eruption of power during that exam... I'm not sure if they would accept me or not."
Eriko quickly sat down next to her brother in front of the door.
"Did daddy get mail?!"
Michi lifted the letter, showing his little sister, kind of tossing it to the side.
"Nah... This one's for me."
Eriko took the envelope, happily examining it as she pulled at the wax insignia
"What's in it?"
Michi took the envelope from his sister
"Just some school stuff..."
Michi clenched the envelope in his hand, remembering the promise he made for himself, to live for himself, and not to live for others. To hell with other's opinions. It's time for him to live his own life. Michi placed the envelope on his thigh, ripping it open with his only good arm as he pulled out a recorder. A hologram quickly popped up, showing a Izuku Midoriya standing at the center of the screen. Michi's eyes widened with the sight of the number one hero. In a booming voice, Izuku spoke.
"YOUNG SHINOMORI! As I'm sure you were expecting this, this is your formal letter from UA for your examination that took place, "February 15th of the year 2XXX!"
Michi nodded his head listening, his hand clenching the communicator.
"Ahem. In earlier years young Shinomori, you were in affiliation with the Kazuki Clan that resided within the Osaka providence of Japan. Within that time, you were taken into custody, and you were given punishment fit for your age, and crime."
Michi cringed as he remembered his past transgressions.
"When taking the exam, many Pro Heroes kept a closer eye on you, as well as the judges. In the beginning, your brutality confirmed our suspicions that the time spent with Kazuki could have made you... Brutal, and intense."
Michi looked down at his broken left arm, as his hair began to hide his face, due to the gravity and weight of his hair falling amongst itself.
"How ever. While fighting a fellow examiner, Itami, Senshi, you showed restraint, following orders of your superior, Dynamight, even with your opponent continuing his advancement of attack. Which showed restraint, and showed us, that you are willing to do better, and learn from your past transgressions."
Michi's eyes widened as he studied the video, unsure of what the next words shall be...
"Michi Shinomori. We invite you, to join UA, so that we may hone in, and train you so that you may be a disciplined, and formidable Pro. Welcome... To your Hero Academia."
Michi's eyes widened as he heard this, dropping the communicator, with a smile on his face.
"Holy.. Holy shit."
Eriko looked at her brother, with a stern expression, pointing at him
"Swear!"
Michi expression quickly changed as he chuckled.
"I.. I mean crap. Sorry Eriko. How about you and I go out for some ice cream?"
Eriko smiled as she heard this, standing up
"Yes please!"
Michi stood up, as he smiled, grabbing the door opening it.
"Alright, go get your shoes on-"
As Michi turned his head, he saw an exasperated, Shizu Baga... Who was holding a recorder as well. Behind him, standing at the fence of the Shinomori household, was Fugu Baga, distracted on her phone. Michi, expression changed to a cautious one as he saw Shizu.
"Uhh... Hi... Baga..."
Shizu exhaled, and inhaled as he caught his breath, with a bright smile, he looked at Michi.
"Did you get in?!"
Michi was surprised by his enthusiasm as Shizu grabbed onto Michi's shoulders.
"Michi! Michi! Did you get in!?"
Michi slowly pulled away from Shizu, as he chuckled softly.
"Y-yeah.. I got in. I got assigned 1A."
Shizu smiled gleefully as he looked at Michi, doing a happy jump in the air.
"We did too! This is going to be great!"
Michi nodded, as he heard Eriko coming down the stairs.
"Who's there?"
Michi opened the door wider so Eriko could see
"Just the Baga's Eriko."
Shizu's eyes widened as he saw Eriko,
"You've gotten so big! Look at you Eriko!"
Eriko smiled as she skipped outside, seeing Fugu, which she promptly tackled with questions and playful remarks. Shizu smiled as he pointed at Eriko tackling Fugu, Michi, after a few seconds began to laugh with Shizu.. After the laughing finished, Shizu turned to Michi.
"Listen.. We didn't get the chance to talk after the exams because... Well.. You were unconscious but... I..."
Michi's eyes locked onto Shizu's, a profound concern etched on his face. Shizu, overwhelmed by the gravity of the situation, couldn't maintain eye contact and abruptly bowed before Michi.
"I'M SORRY."
Without hesitation, Michi reached out, firmly gripping Shizu's shoulders, his own worry palpable.
"Come on, man, don't do this," he implored.
Shizu's voice quivered as he raised it to a fervent tone.
"No, I need to! I knew you better than anyone growing up... And... and... I SHOULD'VE BEEN ON YOUR SIDE! INSTEAD, YOU'VE BEEN ALONE ALL THIS TIME!"
Michi's fingers tightened on Shizu's shoulders, his face a mix of distress and embarrassment.
"Come on, buddy, you don't need to get all sappy. I did enough crying back then for the both of us."
Shizu extricated himself from Michi's grip, his expression now tinged with anger.
"EXACTLY. AFTER SUCH HEARTACHE, I LEFT YOU TO CRY ALONE. I SHOULD'VE BEEN THERE TO TALK TO YOU ABOUT IT."
Michi's gaze fell to the ground for a moment before he raised his eyes to meet Shizu's.
"I... I'm sorry too. I couldn't handle reaching out. I felt like bringing it up would make things worse, so I thought it was better to cut myself off. I didn't mean to distance myself like this. I just... I guess I couldn't handle it."
Shizu responded by embracing Michi in a bear hug, his sheer strength almost cracking Michi's back. Michi, half-strangled, began playfully thumping Shizu on the head.
"CAN'T... BREATHE... SHIZUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!"
Cut to black.
Days later
Michi stood next to Mari Nagamine, his class rep, in front of their teacher, who was enthusiastically looking at their transfer papers.
"Not one... BUT TWO, OF MY STUDENTS GOT INTO UA?! Good job guys! Sincerely! This is a big accomplishment."
Michi scratched his head as he half chuckled. Mari took the papers from the teacher, handing Michi's back.
"Thank you sir, we're both excited to represent our middle school at UA! We'll do our best!"
Michi walked out of his teacher's office, paper in hand, as he turned to Mari Nagamine, noticing as she turned and walked away from him. Michi quickly caught up to Mari
"A- Wait, Nagamine!"
Michi called out, quickening his pace to catch up with her.
Nagamine continued walking, glancing over her shoulder briefly. "You can walk and talk, can't you?"
Michi chuckled and nodded. "Of course, but it's still nice to have a face-to-face conversation."
Mari chuckled and halted their brisk walk, turning to face Michi. "Alright, what's on your mind?"
Michi pointed at Mari with enthusiasm. "I want to talk about that power of yours! When you appeared next to me and got us away from Senshi, it was almost instantaneous!"
Mari glanced at Michi with a hint of confusion. "You could easily move faster than I did with your quirk. Mine isn't all that amazing. I can simply appear and reappear based on my spirit's position."
"So, it's like matter displacement, right?"
Mari shook her head, counting on her fingers. "1. Matter Displacement is far more complex than my quirk. 2. There's no way someone with your grades knows what Matter Displacement is. 3. My spirit is my original body; it's more like momentary placement."
Michi adopted a more serious expression as they exited the school's front entrance, carrying all the belongings he had accumulated during his time in middle school.
"Hey! How do you know about my grades?!"
Mari chuckled, turning back to face Michi. "I was the class rep, remember? I sometimes graded papers."
Michi's shoulders slumped slightly as he recognized the intellectual difference between himself and Mari. "Ah, that's my bad, I guess."
Mari laughed a little harder as she began to leave the school property
"Haha, well you better fix that for UA. School work's only going to get more difficult from here on out. I'll see you on move in day."
Michi nodded as he began to turn the other way.
"Y-yeah! I'll see you at UA!"
As the two turned away, they both went their separate ways, only to be united when the day comes for their first year of UA to start!
Kazuki
Kazuki approached the front office, spotting a guard he was on friendly terms with. He offered the guard a cigarette and started a casual conversation.
"Is the boss pissed?"
The guard took the cigarette and nodded subtly, understanding what Kazuki meant. After a quick puff, he opened the door for Kazuki. As he entered, Kazuki saw a tall, slender woman with brown hair in a spacious room. She stood there, gazing at a large television that displayed a play-by-play of every newcomer to UA's Hero Program. As she turned around, her dress moved with her in perfect fitting, her large, round glasses had a glare that hid her eyes.
"Have you viewed the files we bought off the Dark Web yet, Kazuki?"
Kazuki shook his head as he lit a cigarette.
"Haven't had the time, I'm running four of your damn outposts, plus your three businesses. I ain't got the time like I used to."
The woman slid her hands across Kazuki's neck, causing the man to shudder, sweat beading down his forehead.
"B-But I'm more than happy to do the work for you, ma'am."
The woman paused the video, biting down on the lollipop she had in her mouth.
"These students are soon to be our playthings, and you haven't even BROWSED the score?"
Kazuki looked up at the screen, noticing the student it was paused on. A bright, confident smile adorned the child's face, with his hair obscuring his eyes. The name on the Student ID read, "Shizu Baga."
"He looks interesting. Like his quirk is already..."
"Already unstable, right? The instability of his quirk is common with these runts. A majority of them can't even control their quirks without quirk blockers."
Kazuki felt the woman's grip loosen on his neck as she walked away from him, taking a seat in a large chair at the center of the room, sipping from a glass of wine on her desk.
"L-Lady Shihori... I just don't see the reason why we must do this."
Shihori leaned forward toward Kazuki.
"We need to free these students, Kazuki. It's our duty. They do not understand the damage they can do with their quirks."
Shihori slowly removed her glove, revealing a blue glow to her hand, causing Kazuki's breathing to become uneven.
"We are here to SAVE PEOPLE."
Shihori threw the glass against her penthouse window, cracking the glass, as she pointed at Kazuki.
"Should I begin my crusade of healing with YOU, KAZUKI?"
Kazuki shook his head.
"No, ma'am. We should begin the healing."
Shihori sat back down in her chair, leaning back and kicking her legs up.
"That's what I wanted to hear. We will begin soon enough. Soon enough, we shall begin the healing.""
