here's chapter six. yes, I know it's listed as chapter eight. but it's actually chapter six. the chapters listed as one and two hardly count as real chapters because they are just the prologue and the character list, respectively. this sixth chapter is a good two-thousand-seventy-one words worth of storyline long in my first ever 'Shugo Chara' fanfiction in a storyline based upon that of the 2009 movie, 'The Ugly Truth'. as you can more than likely already notice from the previous chapter and the 'M' for 'mature readers only' rating of this very fanfiction, itself, was nothing short of an 'R' rated movie. anyway, the storyline of this chapter excludes this headnote, right here, and the (mandatory) disclaimer which makes up the paragraph following said headnote. it also excludes the author's note/comment from yours truly hidden within the precipice of this sixth chapter.

disclamation: I don't own 'Shugo Chara' or 'The Ugly Truth' in any way, shape, or form. I am but a humble fanfiction blogger on both FanFiction and Wattpad. I have an account with Wattpad that I keep meaning to edit my own username. the same goes for my usernames on both YouTube and on DeviantArt. why do I keep forgetting to edit my own usernames. anyway, 'Shugo Chara' is owned by the duo of manga artists known in their home country as Peach Pit, AKA Banri Sendo and Shibuko Ebara. Meanwhile, 'The Ugly Truth' was directed in 2009 by Robert Luketic and was written by a trio of writers made up by three women with the names of Nicole Eastman, Karen McCullah Lutz, and Kirsten M. Smith.

Back at the television studio office the following morning, Senna was once again the first person to whom Amu consulted about her date once again having gone sour. It had even gone sour faster than usual the night prior to their consultation with one another at their television studio office that day.

Senna Hanazono: How'd your date with Kairi go?

The date had gone very badly, but Amu was not about to let Senna know about the bad stuff that had happened on her date with Kairi the prior night.

Amu Hinamori: Well, I was very pleased with yours, Yuu and Yukari's choice of restaurant for my date with Kairi.

Of course, Senna had also wanted to stay focused on what had gone right on her friend, Amu's, date with the boss lady's kid brother.

Senna Hanazono: That is so awesome.

Amu was just focusing on the fact that the choice of restaurant being the only thing about her date with Kairi having gone right.

Amu Hinamori: Why?

Walking into the office with Senna, Amu was greeted by Yuu and his wife/co-chief executive director, Yukari, upon entry. Well, they were certainly greeted by Yuu.

Yuu Nikaido: Ohayo gozaimasu, everyone.

Of course, every one of them responded with a shared 'morning' back at Yuu.

Yuu Nikaido (continued): Now, before I play you this, I should warn you all that this guy is just slightly rough around the edges.

The next thing they all knew, every last one of them was watching the video of what happened between Amu and that one guy, Ikuto Tsukiyomi, the previous night with a little conversation over the studio set's phone.

Ikuto Tsukiyomi: Face it! You're ugly!

A woman's voice that Amu recognized as her own played thereafter on the television set's call box phone.

Amu Hinamori (on the television): I am not ugly.

Ikuto Tsukiyomi: Well,_

Before Yuu and Yukari could continue playing the clip of Ikuto Tsukiyomi for their big announcement, Amu promptly turned the television screen in their office using the only remote in the room. Of course, it was only natural for Amu to have been appalled by the memory of her phone conversation with the guy in question after hearing him call her 'ugly' on TV all over again.

A/N: I feel sorry for people who are just stupid enough to call those things 'clickers'. granted, I was one of those people as a little girl, but I've since then adjusted to calling those objects by their proper name. nowadays, I solely call them 'remotes'.

Amu Hinamori: Why are we watching this, Yuu? Yukari?

While she was obviously appalled by Ikuto Tsukiyomi calling her 'ugly' on cable television, Amu was also a trifle bit confused as to why Ikuto's show was even playing on her husband-and-wife team of co-chief executive directors were even playing the clip of him calling her 'ugly'.

Yuu Nikaido: Glad you asked, Himamori-san. Say 'hello' to our new guest commentator.

Of course, that time of misspeaking her last name was one of the rare times when Yuu was just joking around with Amu Hinamori purely as a laugh.

Amu Hinamori: I'm sorry, I'm confused. Did you just call him our new guest commentator, Yuu?

Yukari, of course, spoke next about hers and her husband/co-chief executive director's shared decision to have a guy like Ikuto Tsukiyomi as the show's guest commentator.

Yukari Sanjo/Nikaido: You got that right, Amu-chan. We're also starting him off at two segments a week and at three minutes a pop.

Amu knew that she had a bad and incredulously skewed opinion about Ikuto Tsukiyomi.

Amu Hinamori: Are you kidding me?

The only true question left about the guy was what everyone else in the room thought of Ikuto Tsukiyomi and his show titled 'The Ugly Truth'. Kukai seemed to be the only one to respond to Amu's worries about Ikuto at first.

Kukai Souma: Who the hell is this guy?

Of course, Yuu and his wife/co-chief executive director, Yukari, had their own input about Ikuto Tsukiyomi and his show, 'The Ugly Truth'. Of course, Yuu gave his perception of the guy first.

Yuu Nikaido: Name's Ikuto Tsukiyomi.

Before his wife/co-chief executive director, Yukari, could give her opinion about their show's new guest commentator, Ikuto Tsukiyomi, Amu went ahead and interrupted Yukari from giving her opinion.

Am Hinamori: And he's an uber moron misogynist who represents everything wrong with television and society as of late.

Next, Rima Mashiro gave her own opinion about having a guest commentator like that Ikuto Tsukiyomi on their show.

Rima Mashiro: I can't believe this. I just don't believe this. I get shit every time I suggest we do something even remotely fluffy, while this guy's about to get away with badmouthing people with the bosses' approval. This just isn't fair.

Yuu and Yukari could see clearly where the argument was headed with Rima's comments.

Yukari Sanjo/Nikaido: Oh, come on, Rima. I mean, the guy has a point of view. We don't have to like it.

Yuu Nikaido: I mean, come on, people. We are newspeople. We're objective because of that. Do you know that the biggest names on news in the country interview terrorists. It doesn't mean they like them.

Yukari Sanjo/Nikaido: Yuu's right. All of those big names in the Japanese news departments don't interview terrorists because they like them. They all do it for the ratings that follow such interviews.

Of course, Amu had a list of her ideas to prove against the actual need for a guest commentator like Ikuto Tsukiyomi. She did not like that guy one little bit.

Amu Hinamori: I have a whole list of ideas to improve our show's ratings. You two are gonna like it. We don't need him.

Of course, it was only natural that Nagihiko, Rima and Kukai thought that Amu was right about not needing a guy like Ikuto Tsukiyomi to improve their show's ratings.

Rima Mashiro: We don't need him.

Kukai Souma: No, we don't.

Nagihiko/Nadeshiko Fujisaki: Not at all.

Yuu and Yukari, meanwhile, looked over Amu's list of ideas supposedly to improve ratings.

Yuu Nikaido: 'An intimate profile of the mayor', huh?

Yuu might have been a little puzzled on the idea, but Amu just needed to sell even Yukari on page with her about her own ideas to improve the ratings of their show. If Amu could get Yukari on the same page as her about ideas on how to improve ratings, then she at least had a chance to prevent a need for an idiot misogynist like Ikuto Tsukiyomi taking any guest commentary on her show.

Amu Hinamori: Yes. What do you say, Yukari-san?

At least, Rikka liked the idea of not needing Ikuto Tsukiyomi just as much as Amu had.

Rikka Hiiragi: I like that.

Rima, Kukai and Nagihiko seemed to agree with Rikka about not needing Ikuto Tsukiyomi.

Rima Mashiro: I like the mayor.

Nagihiko did the talking for both himself and for his best pal, Kukai.

Nagihiko/Nadeshiko Fujisaki: That sounds fantastic.

Hikaru was just slightly confused by 'an intimate profile of the mayor of Tokyo' being that high on Amu's list of ideas on ratings improvement for their show.

Hikaru Ichinomiya: The mayor?

The only problem with getting Yukari on Amu's side was that the boss lady found it surprisingly boring.

Yukari Sanjo/Nikaido: Amu, you can't be serious. You also can't be that willing to come between my husband and me just to avoid getting this guy on our show, even when it could improve your ratings.

Amu Hinamori: Oh, come on. It can be edgy and yet intriguing.

Unfortunately for Amu and everyone else in the room, someone else suddenly began speaking from outside the bosses' office. It was a guy's voice, that much everyone could tell, based solely on its masculinity.

New masculine voice: Unless you can get the guy to bang three whole crack whores and a Shi Tzu on live TV, no one'll give a crap.

It was none other than the guy Amu and her staff had been watching on their bosses' office wall television, Ikuto Tsukiyomi, himself. He even took a sip from out of his coffee mug with the station's own logo on it not long after making his presence all too known.

Ikuto Tsukiyomi: Oh, gomenasai. I was eavesdropping out in the hall.

Of course, Yuu and Yukari could only laugh at Ikuto's comments about the show and about having been listening in on their conversation out in the hall before they both responded to Amu's worries about having Ikuto on her show as they laughed.

Yuu Nikaido: What did we tell you?

Yukari Sanjo/Nikaido: Isn't this guy great?

Of course, what Ikuto said after Yuu and Yukari called him great only confirmed Amu's worst fears about how her day was going to go.

Ikuto Tsukiyomi: Ah, arigato, boss man and boss lady.

While the married couple that were her employers were both quite happy about having someone who they both believed could improve their ratings on their team, Amu was furious with Yuu and Yukari, needless to say.

Amu Hinamori: You two already hired him?

Ikuto did not know exactly what had happened to him upon seeing Amu, but he felt something strike him. He simply had to know who the cherry-blossom-pink-haired girl was who had managed to capture his immediate interest.

Ikuto Tsukiyomi: Who's this delightful creature?

With that kind of comment from the very same guy who had called her 'ugly' on cable television during their phone conversation just the prior night, she realized that he did not recognize her just from her voice alone. She realized that he really did judge women based on a superficial criteria.

Amu Hinamori: I'm your producer.

Of course, Ikuto was obviously more than happy to find out that he would be getting a hot, young woman like Amu as his producer.

Ikuto Tsukiyomi: Oh. Hey!

Ikuto then reached out his hand for which to shake hands with Amu.

Ikuto Tsukiyomi (continued): I like a woman on top.

Rikka, Rima, and Senna were naturally appalled by their new guest commentator's unruly, chauvinistic behavior.

Rikka Hiiragi: Ugh. God.

Ikuto just ignored the collective disgust of all the women in his bosses' office, except for the boss lady, Yukari, herself. Naturally, she and her husband/co-chief executive director, Yuu, tried to reassure everyone that hiring a guy like Ikuto would not be a wasted decision.

Yuu Nikaido: He's just kidding, Hinamori-san.

Yukari Sanjo/Nikaido: Come on, everyone. You all know he was just kidding.

Amu, herself, did not buy her co-employers' theory about hiring Ikuto in the first place.

Amu Hinamori: Oh, yeah.

Only by then, Ikuto had caught a case of the munchies, had gone over to the table where the onigiri rice balls were and picked one up for himself. Rikka was less than pleased with the guy's obvious table manners.

Rikka Hiiragi: Sumimasen.

Of course, Yuu just wanted to make sure to both boost the show's ratings and to keep the peace amongst his and his wife/co-chief executive director's workplace. He decided to start with making sure that their new guest commentator could find his workspace comfortable.

Yuu Nikaido: Oi, Ikuto, did you see your office?

Ikuto was obviously the new guy on their show since Yuu had asked him such a question. And yet, the deep-dark-haired guy still had the nerve to answer Yuu's question with the bits of the onigiri rice ball he had taken from the table just moments before still in his mouth.

Ikuto Tsukiyomi: No, I didn't.

Yukari wanted equally to move along with hers and her husband/co-chief executive director's new schedule as of that same day.

Yukari Sanjo/Nikaido: Well, come on and we'll show you.

Ikuto was naturally only too happy to be getting shown his new office by his new husband-and-wife team of co-employers.

Ikuto Tsukiyomi: Beautiful.

Of course, Yuu and Yukari had to think about what to tell the rest of their news media staff while tending to their new commentator's needs, which they knew there would be dozens, maybe even hundreds.

Yuu Nikaido: Oi, can everyone take five?

Yukari Sanjo/Nikaido: We'll be right back.

As soon as all three left, Amu suddenly started labeling Ikuto as the elephant in the room, as she had felt objectified by him.

Amu Hinamori: Were you all not there last year for our sexual-harassment meeting?!

Of course, Rikka felt no qualms about Ikuto having already overstayed his welcome before he had even walked through the door. All she wanted then and there, however, was nothing short of her friend/co-anchor, Hikaru's, unrivalled support and agreement.

Rikka Hiiragi: Yes. Were you not there, Hikaru-kun?

Of course, there was no love lost for Ikuto from where Rima stood.

Rima Mashiro: He needs to go.

Hikaru, however, had no problem with Yuu and Yukari having hired a guy like Ikuto.

Hikaru Ichinomiya: He wasn't sexually harassing me, though.

But Hikaru's only true reason for having no bad blood against Ikuto was solely because it was easy for him to not immediately be turned off by the guy because, as Hikaru, himself, said about Ikuto, the guy did not sexually harass. So, it was only natural that Hikaru would have tragically missed the point about Ikuto already needing to leave the studio for the rest of all their lives.
