The Comeuppance Prompt (Pitched by: Salty)

Goal: Using an OC and their worst enemy, write a scene where the villain is fed their crow.

Pairing: Koga (OoT Incarnation) and Ganondorf

Verse: Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask

The Scene

Driving my Bagua Dao into the ginger head's chest, I push him against the nearest wall. I plant him while violently pulling my sword out and slashed his sword hand off when he tried to retaliate.

"Ganondorf!" Zelda yells across the room.

"Wow. For all the boasting you and your stupid little whore cronies were talking, that was quite lackluster. I guess you let Link's death swell your head even more as if that was even possible."

"I thought Aveil killed you and the boy in Termina."

"You should've known somethin' was wrong when Aveil didn't report back to you. She only completed half the job. My brother is dead; I wish she could say the same for me. Her head is on a pike at Clock Town's Gate, which I personally made sure of. You don't recognize my muffler?" I reveal.

Ganondorf looks up, his face shifting into a shocked expression. Now I've seen everything.

"That's her royal muffler! You broke into the Gerudo's Treasury!"

"More so busted in the door with Aveil's disconnected head and threatened everyone inside to leave Hyrule alone then taking her muffler as a trophy since carrying her head was a bit much. Maybe I can use this to gain some positive reputation with the Gerudos here." I glance at Zelda, who's still trying to process what is happening. "How are we doing, two-timer? You're not lookin' so hot. Definitely not as cute as you were when we were kids."

"As if I were to lay with-"

"Yeah, yeah, Z. I got it. I'm over it at this point. I wasted a decade mulling it over. But to think that this waste of space was the man you often dreamed about. Makes me sick to think that I had feelings for you." My stare at the self-proclaimed King of Hyrule turned neutral as I see him disgusted. "Oh, your boyfriend didn't like that at all. Come on, Ganondorf. Let's get to the quick, eh?" I back up to give him space. "Summon that Triforce of Power you've had in your back pocket for years."

Turning around, I watch Ganondorf exerting stress on his body as he struggles to stand, his right hand bleeding freely, though not as much as when I cut it off.

I scoff. "Anyday now, Blackie. I promised the Chief that this wouldn't take long."

"Watch who you mock, boy. I will rend your hide for resisting me and my wishes."

"Sure, Ganondorf. I can't slander your name when that's all you've done since you got here. Since you look like you're actually hurting yourself, I'll plainly spell it out for you. You don't have the Triforce of Power anymore. Din took it from you."

"What!?"

"What?" Zelda echoed.

"Indeed. Don't know who has it now, but they're definitely a better choice than you. As for the skank you frequent, Nayru took her Triforce of Wisdom away. I guess coinciding with the enemy wasn't very wise. That's why she can't cast spells anymore. She lost her Magic Pool without the Triforce of Wisdom." I explain to them both. "As for who got it, well..."

I show them my hand... the Triforce of Wisdom burned into it.

"You gained it in my stead? You are not worthy of it!" Zelda yelled.

"No, Zelda. You're not worthy of it," I retaliate with a chortle. "The Goddesses have abandoned you, the Gerudos have turned against you-"

"Blasphemer! The Gerudos are my subjects! They do what I command!"

"About that. When I returned to Hyrule, Nabooru and I did some cleaning up." I place the blade's tip on the ground so Ganondorf can see the new addition. Six Bronze Rings, Three Silver, One Gold. "Haven't you noticed the Bronze Ring on my sword?"

"They're dead. You killed them all!"

"Eh, around half. Nabooru insisted on taking the other half, a true believer of the equity she is. If I killed them all, there would be two more Bronze Rings, not one. All the Gerudos who supported you are dead. You no longer have the Triforce of Power, and you're bleeding to death. Not how you imagined today was going to go, I take it? No one's coming to help you, Zelda can't heal you anymore, and you lost your dominant hand. The only power you have left is how your life ends. Quick, or elongated and painful." I say aloud. "Well, no. I have that power. Stand the hell up, Blackie, so you can at least die with some honor. I know how Gerudos, especially Gerudo Men, don't have that. Grab your sword with your left hand, and let's finish this." He finally did as I demanded. "Good. At least you can follow basic instruction."

Furious, Ganondorf rushes me, but I slash his other hand off before he can finish his swing.

"Ooh, ya hate to see it. At least you tried," I sarcastically comment.

I then jam my Bagua Dao in his throat before slashing leftward, leaving a gaping gash in his neck. The King of Thieves' decapitation completed my vengeance. I take a Decay Talisman, place it on Ganondorf's corpse, and watch in satisfaction as his body decomposes into a skeleton.

"Link, my brother. You may rest in peace." I speak to myself.

I move to leave Hyrule Castle, but before exiting the throne room, I take one look at the imagery. My mouth opens to say one last thing to Zelda, but the words died at my lips at the last minute.

Zelda whimpered. "You ruined everything."

Something about that tipped me off. I turn around and step on Ganondorf's spine to make my way to Zelda. Brandishing my Dao, I ram the blade into her abdomen, Zelda gasping with wide eyes.

"How could-"

"I thought you were over me? Since you want to be with Ganondorf so much, I'll reunite you two in hell. Just know that I was the only man who truly loved you."

As I take a deep breath, I slash to the right to decapitate Zelda, her corpse resembling Ganondorf's. Throwing the blood off of my Dao, I turn to get out of this hellhole.

Additional Comments

The first official scene with another Koga incarnation, this one from Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.

Not as stoic as the Koga we're all used to, this version is a smartass, as you saw. One thing to note about Koga's Sword. He mentioned the rings punched into his blade - Six Bronze, Three Silver Rings, and One Gold. Bronze Rings are awarded for every 100 victories. That in itself is very broad. It can be a duel, a battle in a war, or a kill. Meaning, Koga is decorated in action. Silver Rings are awarded through maturity levels in the Imp Tribe, so every Imp who does this has three Silver Rings. Gold Rings are awarded for defeating a mythical being. At ten years old, Koga defeated Ganondorf in a Sparring Match in front of the Hyrule Castle Guards, the King of Hyrule, and Zelda herself.

Ganondorf is a Male Gerudo and is mythical to the Imps. Thus Koga was awarded a Gold Ring. This means when he returns to Kakariko and reports to the Chief, he may get two more. One for killing Ganondorf and another for Zelda.

The Comeuppance Prompt (Editor's Response)

Goal: Using an OC and their worst enemy, write a scene where the villain is fed their crow.

Pairing: Jai & Daegon

Verse: Mortal Kombat (Fractured Trust)

The Scene

Edenia erupting in pure chaos usually signified a few things: an enemy invasion, a traitor uprooting the joyous peace, or something else sinister. Its splendor and glory were all but desecrated in the state of war, warriors and innocents alike caught in the crossfire. Nothing like this had occurred in countless millennia.

Two participants in this carnage stood apart with ragged breaths, one bent on a knee while the other was hunched over in discomfort. Their battle had another competitor amidst the hellacious scrum, but they were incapacitated and would remain that way.

Jai struggled to get back to his feet after barely emerging victorious against Kotal, knocking him out with a flurry of attacks. Pained groans left him as he did his best to ignore the discomfort. Kotal's brute strength almost overwhelmed him, along with his weapon. Never before had Jai fought so hard for an extended, the fight totaling close to an hour in time elapsed. That didn't include the hordes of Osh-Tekk and Daegon's followers, mainly Rain. It helped that Daegon wasn't too fond of Kotal as his own techniques added in putting down the hulking Osh-Tekk.

There were no allies in this three-way struggle, and each understood what was at stake.

Injuries ravaged both men. Jai bled profusely with numerous wounds across the torso, his shirt torn off earlier in the encounter. It was a miracle in itself that he was still conscious. Daegon wasn't much better off. The damage inflicted on his person was present from head to toe, courtesy of Jai's newly discovered power. His face was also battered and bruised, with several broken bones in different areas. Eye vision was next to being blind due to one socket swollen shut, his only good eye. Much to his dismay, Daegon suffered internal bleeding. He had gravely underestimated this 'child' and took for granted the many errors committed.

"This... this is impossible! An insect such as yourself able to best me!? I'll sooner dissolve in the Deadpool before admitting you're my better!" Daegon spat; blood wads landing on the ground in front of him. "It's clear to me now... why Tanya was obsessed with you."

No words were said by Jai as he used this lull to gain a second wind. His gaze held a frightening but undeterred amount of focus. Daegon's mention of his trusted aide's name didn't escape him. She and Jade were currently locked in a stalemate of their own. It could be argued that battle was more physical, demanding, and emotional than this. And Jai knew the reason why.

'Here's hoping she'll pull through.'

Daegon finally managed to lean up into a vertical base, his expression one of pure maniacal madness. "You think you've won this battle, maggot!? It matters not if you're a blasted Eclipsian! They pale in comparison to me! I will not be beaten by a mere boy! Anyone who defies me will face execution!"

Charging forward, Daegon had only one thought in mind. To kill this infernal child by any means necessary. Never before had an opponent been able to match, let alone surpass him in power. Unafraid, Jai stood his ground with an eerie calm, his training with Bo Rai Cho' and Li along with his Edenian knowledge coming to the forefront. His patience and attention to detail paid off as he managed to catch an incoming fist to his skull. Each blow delivered expertly blocked or parried; Jai remembered most of his opponent's attacks from previous meetings. The shocked expression on Daegon's face told the whole story.

Jai's, meanwhile, never changed from its hard look. "This ends... now."

The assault that followed afterward was unmerciful. Daegon never had a chance to put up a decent guard as Jai landed several devastating shots to the sternum and ribcage, the impact sickening from miles away. A wicked right hook to the left temple left the madman reeling but not before a spinning heel kick sent him careening toward the unforgiving ground. Daegon barely had time to register what came next, a bone-shattering knee that broke his nose upon contact and left him sprawled out.

What everyone thought was a mismatch turned into an outcome no one foresaw. Jai had won decisively despite fatigue and gruesome injuries.

Calmly, Jai strode over to his defeated adversary, reaching down to grab a comatose Daegon by the throat. At the same time, his free hand stiffened into a knife motion. This was it, the chance to end this carnage and rid Edenia of its impending threat. Jai brought the palm down... but stopped just before reaching the pulse point in Daegon's neck.

"No... This is not who I am."

Those words were followed by Jai releasing Daegon, letting the older man crash back toward the earth. What he had done was more than enough, already deeming himself of staining his hands with the blood of many. Remaining on the path of death and destruction would liken him to the man he had just defeated.

"Thank your brother Taven for me sparing your pathetic life. Arrogance proved to be your downfall, but never will I stoop to your level again." Jai breathed a deep sigh. "Do what you will, Daegon, but you won't die by my hand. Not today, not ever."

Satisfied, Jai began walking away to find Samuel and Kitana leading the rest of the army against the renegade forces. But before he even reached six steps, Daegon rose out of pure fury and hatred. "DIE! YOU SHALL DIE, JAI!"

Jai turned around to face Daegon one last time, astounded he could even move. Yet, the latter wouldn't get close to him as a metallic glaive whizzed through the air, blindsiding Daegon before lodging itself in his skull, killing him instantly.

That belonged to only one person.

Emerging from beneath the bottom of a nearby hill was Jade, the afflictions from her battle against Tanya noticeable. Neither exchanged words amid the now quiet front nor did either move from their spot. At Jade's feet was Tanya's supine body, knocked unconscious and subdued by magical binds to nullify her pyromancer abilities.

Jai decided it was time to leave, but not before Jade attempted to stop him. "Wait..."

"Don't. What's done is done." Jai's voice wasn't angry or full of pent-up frustration, bordering upon emotionless. "I have to go."

"But, Jai..."

She wouldn't get a chance to finish before Jai teleported out of sight. Samuel and Kitana managed to find Jade and approached her, not surprised to see Tanya arrested. They were flabbergasted by Daegon and Kotal unmoving on the field, only one of them breathing.

"Where's Jai?" Kitana questioned.

Jade didn't offer a reply and began sobbing, falling to her knees. Jai had disappeared again into the wind with no one able to trace his whereabouts. The battle was won, and Edenia was saved.

But was it a victory worth celebrating?
