Zero's Lady

Chapter 2: The False Classmate

After finishing her class lessons, Rin went to visit the clubhouse of Ashford Academy which was where Lelouch and Nunnally were living after being taken in by the Ashfords.

Rin came into the room and was greeted by Sayoko, the Japanese maid that looked after Lelouch and Nunnally.

"Hello, Sayoko."Rin said.

"Hello, Miss Sumeragi."Sayoko greeted.

Rin smiled and held out a a bunch of sheets of coloured paper from her school bag.

"I thought, perhaps since Lelouch is going to be late again, you could teach us some more of your origami."Rin remarked.

"Of course."Sayoko answered.

Sayoko led Rin to the grand dining room and she smiled as she saw Nunnally already waiting for her.

"Hey, Nunna."Rin greeted.

"Hi, Rin."Nunnally responded with a bright smile. "Are you going to join me and Lelouch for dinner today?"

Rin bit her lip a bit.

"Sorry, Nunna."Rin apologised. "Lelouch called me before and told me he will be back later, but he won't make it in time to have dinner with us."

Nunnally looked down, feeling sad that her brother won't have dinner with her and Rin.

She enjoyed dinner when all of them were together.

"But hey, I brought something over that you might enjoy."Rin said, trying to brighten the mood.

"What is it?"Nunnally asked.

Rin brought forward the stack of colourful paper and handed it to Nunnally to let her feel it.

The brunette smiled as Nunnally looked more confused, running her hand over the paper.

"It's origami paper."Rin exclaimed. "I thought it would be a fun little activity for you and I to do while we wait for Lelouch to come home."

"Okay."Nunnally replied with a nod. "You and Sayoko can teach me all sorts of things."

Rin smiled, feeling happy that she cheered Nunnally up.

Later, Sayoko made chicken ponzu stir fry for Rin and Nunnally to enjoy for dinner.

"Thank you, Sayoko."Rin thanked.

"It smells delicious."Nunnally remarked.

Sayoko nodded in acknowledgment and went off back to the kitchen.

Rin picked up a fork to help Nunnally feed herself before stuffing her own face.

The brunette placed a bit of the chicken with rice in her mouth, enjoying its delicious taste.

"Hey, Rin?"Nunnally spoke up.

Rin looked at Nunnally.

"Yes, Nunna?"Rin asked.

"Do you love Lelouch?"Nunnally questioned.

Rin swallowed down the food in her mouth and smiled gently at Nunnally's question.

"Yes, Nunnally."Rin answered. "I love Lelouch very much."

A smile grew on Nunnally's face.

"That's good."Nunnally complemented. "I love my big brother too."

Rin smiled at Nunnally of accepting her feelings with Lelouch that were special, but hers meant more than just friendship.

After the two girls finished their meal, Sayoko came out to retrieve their empty plates.

Rin then set out the colourful papers for her, Nunnally and Sayoko to use to make Origami.

Nunnally's paper was bright blue, Sayoko's one was orange and the paper of Rin was mint green.

Origami didn't come easy to Rin when she was a little girl, but with practice she became a professional in this ancient Japanese custom.

"So what are you going to teach us to make, Sayoko?"Nunnally asked.

"We'll start with making little animals like turtles."Sayoko commented and began to fold her orange paper. "Fold the square paper in half vertically and then unfold it. This will form a crease along the center of the paper."

Hours passed as Rin and Nunnally listened carefully to Sayoko on how to make origami turtles in the dining room table.

"Do you find Origami fun, Nunna?"Rin asked.

"Yes, Rin. It's very fun."Nunnally giggled and gave a Sayoko a smile. "Thank you for teaching us, Sayoko."

"You're very welcome, Lady Nunnally."Sayoko said with a gentle smile.

It was beautiful that Japanese culture could make amazing things like simply folding paper to make something extravagant.

Britannian people only ever acted as if their culture was the best, but in truth the Japanese culture had it's own extraordinary customs.

Every culture did, the more and more she was exposed to Japanese culture from Sayoko, the more she could see how disrespectful Britannia was.

At the Shinjuku Ghetto…

Prince Clovis was alone inside his G-1 Command Center as he went back to sit on his throne after telling his soldiers to stop their fighting against the terrorist in the ghetto.

He wasn't alone since there was a figure holding him at gunpoint wearing a helmet and hiding in the shadows to hide his identity.

"Are you satisfied?"Prince Clovis asked.

"Very."the figure stated. "Well done."

"And what shall we do now?"Prince Clovis asked. "Sing a few lively ballads or perhaps a nice game of chess?"

A chuckle escaped the figure's mouth.

"That has a familiar ring."the figure commented.

Prince Clovis looks confused at that statement.

"Hmm?"Prince Clovis said.

The figure takes off his helmet and started walking closer to the 3rd Prince of Britannia.

"Don't you recall?"the figure asked. "The two of us used to play chess together as boys. Of course, I would always win."

Prince Clovis narrowed her eyes.

"What?"Prince Clovis questioned.

"Remember?"the figure questioned. "At the Aries Villa?"

"You, who are you?"Prince Clovis demanded with a hint of shock.

The figure came out of the shadows revealing himself to be Lelouch.

"It's been a long time, big brother."Lelouch declared.

Prince Clovis' eyes widen in utter shock to see his favourite younger brother, who was supposed to be dead.

"The eldest son of the late consort Marianne and 17th-no, formerly 17th in line to the Imperial Throne, Lelouch vi Britannia, at your service."Lelouch sneered as he went down on one knee in a mock salute.

"L-Lelouch?!"Prince Clovis stuttered. "B-But I thought-"

"That I was dead? You were wrong."Lelouch informed with a smirk. "I have returned, Your Highness. And I've come back to change everything."

Lelouch then continued pointing his gun at Prince Clovis as he sat back on his throne.

"I'm overjoyed, Lelouch. They said you died when Japan was brought into the fold."Prince Clovis remarked."What a blessing to have you back. We should depart for the homeland immediately."

This caused Lelouch to frown.

"So you can use me as a tool of diplomacy?"Lelouch asked. "It seems you've forgotten why we were used as tools in the first place."

Prince Clovis stiffens at Lelouch's words.

"That's right."Lelouch said with a hint of anger, recalling the painful memory of when his life changed. "It was because my mother was killed."

A flashback from 8 years ago reveals the assassination of Empress Marianne in Aries Villa with Nunnally underneath her mother's dead body shaking in utter shock while Lelouch stood at the top of the stairs staring at the sight in horror.

"Mother was one of the 108 Imperial Consorts and held the title of knight of honour, but was a commoner by birth. No doubt the other imperial consorts held her in contempt."Lelouch exclaimed and became angry. "Even though you made it look like the work of terrorists, I'm no fool. You people killed my mother!"

"It wasn't me!"Prince Clovis protested. "I swear to you it wasn't!"

"Then tell me everything you know. The truth cannot be hidden from me any longer."Lelouch stated and then activated his Geass. "Answer my questions. By whose hand was she slain?"

The Geass flashed into Prince Clovis' eyes and he fell under its command.

"The second Prince Schneizel and Princess Cornelia."Prince Clovis admitted. "They know."

Lelouch became stunned at the revelation from Prince Clovis.

"What they the heart of this?!"Lelouch demanded.

"No. Cornelia has been investigating Lady Marianne's death ever since Father exiled you, as she loved and respected her dearly."Prince Clovis declared. "Father ordered Schneizel to take her body somewhere, I do not know why."

The raven haired boy slowly took in the valuable information that he was told.

"Alright."Lelouch commented and brought up another question. "How were you able to so readily justify the extermination of this ghetto? Do you feel any remorse for the innocent lives you murdered?"

"No."Prince Clovis replied. "They are just filthy Elevens that deserve nothing but death."

Lelouch became angry at his half-brother's words.

"How dare you."Lelouch growled and brought another question. "Who was that green haired girl that the Royal Guard were ordered to capture?"

"Her name is C.C. She is an immortal girl, so she cannot die from anything. Not even bullets."Prince Clovis stated, surprising Lelouch. "Britannia would be unstoppable if we could harness her powers."

"That girl gave me this power cannot die, so that means she's still alive."Lelouch thought and then glanced at Clovis. "Do you know anything else of my mother's murder?"

"I do not."Prince Clovis answered.

"I see."Lelouch said.

The 3rd Prince of Britannia was then freed from the Geass.

"I swear it wasn't me!"Clovis protested. "I had nothing to do with it!"

Lelouch pulled his gun away from Clovis.

"I believe you."Lelouch declared with a smirk, but then once again aims his gun at Clovis' forehead. "However-"

"Please, you can't!"Prince Clovis shouted. "We may have different mothers, but you and I are still blood!"

"You can't change the world without getting your hands dirty."Lelouch stated.

Lelouch pulled the trigger and Prince Clovis was no more.

The Next Morning…

Milly, Lelouch, Rin, Shirley, Rivalz and Nina met up to discuss about the theme of an upcoming party in the academy.

But during the meeting, Lelouch was caught resting on the table before a roll of paper smacked on his fore head by Milly.

"Wake up, Lelouch!"Milly retorted. "You were just asleep, weren't you? Your hands stopped!"

"Hah, serves you right for ditching me yesterday."Rivalz said with a grin.

"That's right, what was up with you anyway?"Shirley asked.

Rin smirked at Lelouch.

"It seems now that your now paying the consequences on gambling."Rin exclaimed.

Lelouch frowned. "I'm aware of that, Rin."

The former prince looked at Rivalz and then Shirley before he shook his head.

"Oh, I'm sorry about 'ditching' you, Rivalz."Lelouch responded with a sarcastic tone. "Instead of worry about the little old me, you should focused on her. I cannot believe you didn't tell us sooner that none of the budgeting was done, Milly."

"Or even a day later, so it would be too late to deal with this and we could give up."Rivalz suggested with a nervous expression as he waved a pencil around.

"No more distractions."Milly said. "We gotta finish figuring out the budget for the year's club activities. We have to get this right."

"You know, it would be nice if you would have reminded us about this mess a day ago, Madam Pres."Shirley insisted.

"The Equestrian club will not be happy about this."Rin complemented bluntly.

"Anyway, we don't want them coming in here on the horseback."Rivalz sneered.

Rivalz chuckled, earning a rolled up newspaper to the head from Milly.

"Rivalz, can you take your student council duties a little more serious?"Milly suggested.

"If that's the case we really should have started on this a few days ago."Lelouch said, looking over his stack of papers. "At this rate even your 'guts' spell won't do any good."

"Don't doubt in my power!"Milly snapped, causing everyone to flinch a bit. "With Guts, we can do anything!"

"Actually, it's got me going."Shirley argued.

Milly gave Shirley a smug look.

"Supple and willing that's what I like."Milly stated.

Shirley gave a look of pride.

"I train hard in the gymnastic club."Shirley proclaimed, flexing her arm.

"That's not what I was getting at."Milly chuckled and stares at Shirley's bust. "You're a ten."

"Huh?"Shirley said in confusion.

Shirley gazed downwards and blushed immediately at what Milly said.

"From what I've seen in the girls' bathroom anyway, you've been filling out in all the right places, huh."Milly declared.

Rivalz glanced at Shirley's bust causing the auburn haired girl to glare at Milly.

"Wh…What are you talking about, perv?!"Shirley shrieked, covering her bust.

Soon after the meeting ended, the Student Council began heading to their classes.

"Geez, our president's just a dirty old man on the inside."Shirley complained. "Sullying the meeting with her filthy mind."

"Yeah well, that's Milly for you."Nina responded.

"She's always been like that."Rin commented with a sheepish smile.

"Look on the bright side."Rivalz insisted. "We got the budget balanced, didn't we?"

As they entered the classroom, the five students noticed some of their classmates were watching the news about Shinjuku on laptops.

"They used poison gas?"A male student questioned.

"Man, that's freaky."A second male student scoffed. "Shinjuku's only thirty minutes from here."

"Oh my god! I saw smoke rising over in Shinjuku!"A female student said. "It must have been the gas!"

A deep frown grew on Rin's face at seeing the awful sights of corpses of the victims killed in Shinjuku.

It was awful and disgraceful.

The brunette looked Britannian, but she never forgot that she was half-Japanese.

Her maiden name was Rin Sumeragi, when she was still living in the Sumeragi residence with her late mother and her grandparents. In Ashford Academy, her full name is Lynn Rossellini though she preferred to called Rin to keep her Japanese ancestry.

Her father Istvan Rossellini was a Britannian Viscount, but he was a kind and caring man unlike most men born in nobility. He was usually away on business trips a lot in order to pay back the money he owed to the bank for his businesses, with the Mansion in Italy as the collateral.

Mira Sumeragi was Rin's mother and one of the younger siblings of the previous head of the Sumeragi Clan. She met Istvan when he was in Japan for a business trip. Her mother was admired for her passion for helping those in need and was known to be an independent woman which was the reason why the Viscount chose to marry her.

Despite growing up with loving parents, Rin wasn't entirely accepted by her whole family.

Antonio Galliera was a duke and the father of the Viscount Rossellini. Brooding and serious, he refused to recognize Rin as a member of the family because of her family background. He was one of the many people, who refused to accept the marriage between Istvan and Mira.

The Duke of Galliera's family were somewhat connected to the Britannian Imperial Family due to his grandmother, Duchess Adelaide von Loewenherz being a long-time mistress to Damascus san Britannia, the 94th Emperor of Britannia. But Adelaide only became Damascus' confidante after marrying Jordan Edmonstone and bearing their two children; Alexis and Harriet.

Nevertheless, Rin was treated equally as everyone else in Ashford Academy and made friends easily. So, her school life was pretty fine.

Rin snapped out of the thoughts when she caught Lelouch heading out with his hand covering his mouth.

"Lelouch?"Rin said in confusion.

Lelouch went to vomit in a sink of the boy's bathroom when he remembered the moment that he killed Clovis with the gun that was in his hands.

"Humph, I guess that I'm not as tough as I thought I was."Lelouch commented with a small smile.

Rin made her way to her next class of the day and sat on the desk where Shirley, only her eyes to widen a bit when she caught sight of a red haired girl with mellow eyes surrounded by three other girls that were in the classroom as well.

"Kallen! It's been ages!"

"Are you all right? Sophie's been worried sick all this time."

"You're okay though, right?"

Kallen smiled lightly at her classmates.

"Yeah, I just have to go easy for a little while."Kallen replied with a gentle voice. "Anyway, if I stay home any longer I'll never catch up."

"Welcome back, Kallen."Rin thought as she brought out her notebook. "Good that you back in one piece. Unlike…"

Rivalz walked over to Lelouch, who watched Kallen as he took his seat on the desk he went to.

"What's up, buddy? See something you like?"Rivalz asked. "You've got a thing for her, don't ya!"

"Just thinking this is a rare event."Lelouch commented. "She hasn't been here at school since this whole term started."

"Kallen Stadtfeld."Rivalz exclaimed. "They say she's sick or something, and she barely showed up at school last year either. Still, her grades are at the top of the class. And she's a member of the Stadtfeld family, which means she's well-bred and rolling in money. Man, you sure know how to pick 'em."

"It's not like that."Lelouch answered and glanced at Rin, who spoke with Shirley. "Besides, I already have someone I like."

"Aah, you don't have to hide it."Rivalz stated. "A touch too sheltered though, if you ask me."

Rin wrote on her notebook to write a letter before placing it inside another notebook before standing up and walking over to where Kallen was.

"Hey, Kallen."Rin greeted with a smile. "Welcome back."

Kallen smiled. "Thank you, Rin."

Rin handed the notebook to Kallen.

"I brought you a notebook just in case you want to take notes on the subjects you missed out."Rin remarked.

"That is very thoughtful of you."Kallen complemented.

When class was over, it was time for lunch.

Lelouch walked out of the building into the main courtyard when class ended for the day.

It was a perfect sunny day, not a cloud in sight, not too hot either thanks to a light breeze.

The weather meant that quite a few students also had the same idea of taking a break in the sun.

Rin was having lunch with Milly, talking about their daily lives.

"Your parents are arranging you to get married?"Rin said in disbelief.

Milly let out a sad sigh.

"Yeah."Milly replied as she fiddled with the salad in her box. "My grandfather is already arranging a list of candidates for him and my parents to look at, so that they can pick out who they want me to have as a husband."

Rin takes a bite on a onigiri inside her lunchbox before replying to the blonde haired girl.

"Your family shouldn't be arranging you to get married, Milly."Rin explained with a small frown. "You still have so many things you want to do. You have the right to marry whomever you please, whenever you please. "

"Yes. But in my family, marriage is more like a game which each member of my family has to play to gain their places in nobility to honour our family."Milly declared with a bittersweet tone. "In other words, marrying for love is not too much in their vocabulary."

Rin was silent at Milly's responds.

Milly's first arranged meeting took place when she turned sixteen, the same day she made her debut.

The brunette remembered how quickly the novelty of balls and parties had worn off, when her friend was introduced to one man after another who were one or twice her age; when the demands of adult society crowded out time with their friends and her beloved school. It had been the most unhappy time of Milly's life.

But Milly was determined not to wallow in self pity.

Through protests and concessions she worked out a compromise: space for her own life while fulfilling her obligation to the Ashfords. In return for autonomy, Milly would continue to participate in society on behalf of the family and make herself available to suitable candidates interested in her.

"If only Milly could talk to her own mother, who was willing to compromise her even when she didn't want it, just to bring the Ashford family back to nobility."Rin thought in her head and looked down sadly. "Then again I am of noble blood myself and I'm not entirely accepted by everyone in my family."

Kallen was eating with two of her friends from class until a bee flew over to them.

"Aaaaah! There's a bee! A bee!"

"Oh my God! Kallen, run!"

"Hurry up and run!"

Kallen retreated behind some bushes and the bee approached her.

"I don't get it, why is a bee after me?"Kallen said gently. "Hm? I wonder if there's a hive nearby..."

The red haired scowled and instantly killed the bee with a precision strike, something that seemed more characteristic of a soldier than a sickly student.

"Ugh, I hate this!"Kallen retorted. "I'm sick of acting like a freakin' invalid!"

Kallen then took an aggressive chomp on her sandwich and notice Lelouch was looking at her.

"Crap, he saw me."Kallen thought.

"There's no question, it's her."Lelouch thought.

"Can I help you or something?"Kallen asked, acting as a weak yet innocent self.

"I want answers."Lelouch stated.

Lelouch activated his Geass and it reached through Kallen before glowing red auras circled her irises.

"Of course."Kallen replied.

"Were you the one piloting the Glasgow in Shinjuku?"Lelouch asked.

"Yes."Kallen answered.

"Why terrorism?"Lelouch questioned.

"Because I'm Japanese."Kallen admitted. "Though technically I'm half Britannian."

Lelouch was surprised upon discovering Kallen was half-Japanese just like Rin.

"Half blood?"Lelouch murmured. "But why go so far?"

"My older brother, Naoto fought against Britannia from the very beginning, when I became old enough I joined him and his territorial group in the fight as well."Kallen stated.

"Tell me about your terrorist group."Lelouch insisted.

"We are a small group even though we have the support of Rin Sumeragi."Kallen admitted.

A small shocked look grew on Lelouch's face at learning Rin was actually supporting terrorism.

"What do you know of Rin Sumeragi?"Lelouch asked.

"I know Rin is a relative of Lady Kaguya, the head of the Sumeragi Clan."Kallen answered. "Though she's half-Britannian as I am, Rin is not very fond of the Britannian society."

An amused smile grew on Lelouch's face.

"She never was."Lelouch murmured.

Then the Geass command on Kallen's pupils disappeared.

"Um, did you want something?"Kallen asked.

"No. I got what I wanted here."Lelouch responded and then walked away, only to turn around to use his Geass on Kallen again. "Oh, wait. Just to be sure. Don't tell anyone about Shinjuku."

"What do you mean, about Shinjuku?"Kallen questioned. "Why would you say that?"

Lelouch was momentarily shocked that his Geass had no effect upon Kallen this time.

"Go back to class."Lelouch ordered.

Kallen frowned. "As soon as I get an answer to my question, I will."

The former Prince was now becoming stressful, thinking that his power ability is only temporary.

"It's not working?"Lelouch thought in disbelief. "What's going on here?"

"Hey, Lulu! Kallen!"Shirley called out from one of the windows. "You know, it's time to head over to the chemistry lab! You'd better get a move on!"

Lelouch took this as the opportunity to escape the mess he was in.

"Oh crap, it's my turn to set up for class!"Lelouch commented and began to make his way to the chemistry lab as he thought about his power. "It didn't work? But..."

Later that Night…

Rin returned to the clubhouse to give Nunnally some company with Sayoko.

The brunette wore a cream-coloured top with a small bow on it, dark blue trousers and a pair of blue flat shoes.

Sayoko sat with Nunnally and Rin making cranes into animal shapes using coloured papers.

"Well, what shall we do?"Sayoko asked. "He may be late again this evening."

"I'll wait."Nunnally insisted. "He said that we'd have dinner together tonight."

Rin smiled a bit at the crippled girl with severe blindness that made her less opened to the world around her.

Nunnally had no idea how scary the world has already been.

Sayoko finished folding a crane into a bird before presenting it to Nunnally.

"There now."Sayoko remarked. "This one's finished."

Nunnally touched the crane and became a bit surprised.

"Ah, a bird?"Nunnally assumed.

Sayoko nodded. "Yes, it's a crane."

"Amazing!"Nunnally remarked. "The Japanese are so skilful."

Rin lightly chuckled as the door entrance slid open and Lelouch arrived.

"I'm sorry I'm so late."Lelouch informed.

"Hi, Lelouch!"Nunnally greeted joyfully. "Welcome home."

"Yes, welcome home, my lord."Sayoko replied.

"Hello, Lelouch."Rin responded with a wave. "Where were you?"

"I got caught up into something after school, but I sort it out."Lelouch exclaimed.

Lelouch then sat down to have dinner with Nunnally and Rin.

"Miss Sayoko and Rin was just teaching me about the art of the origami."Nunnally exclaimed. "Fold a piece of paper the correct way, you can make birds, boats, almost anything."

Lelouch cuts a steak as Rin took a sip from her orange juice.

Nunnally takes a sip of her soup that was a bit too fast that some of the soup came down from her mouth.

Rin smiled and takes her napkin to wipe her friend's mouth.

"Easy there, Nunna."Rin remarked. "Real ladies never slurp on their soup."

"Right."Nunnally giggled.

"And you don't have to tell me everything all at once, you know?"Lelouch commented. "It's not like I'm going anywhere."

"Yeah, you're right."Nunnally agreed. "I'm so happy, 'cause last night you scared me a little."

"Did I? Sorry."Lelouch apologised, looking at the other direction. "I just have a lot on my mind, is all."

Rin notice Lelouch's sudden change of attitude.

"Everything alright, Lelouch?"Rin asked in confusion.

"Yeah."Lelouch answered. "I've been thinking of how my last match would've got my opponent in check."

Rin sighed before eating a slice of her steak.

"I honestly don't know how you ended up using your chess skills for gambling, Lelouch."Rin complemented. "You know I have enough money to support you and Nunna."

"That's very thoughtful of you, Rin."Lelouch replied. "But we don't want to give you too much worry."

"Hey."Nunnally spoke up, gaining their attention as she lifted her palms with a pink paper crane. "They say, if you fold a thousand of these cranes, your wish'll come true."

Lelouch and Rin exchanged glances with each other at the thought of their desires.

"So if there's anything at all that you've been wishing for?"Nunnally asked.

"I wish for all of us to live happily with all the people we care about."Rin commented.

"That would be nice."Lelouch replied and looked at his sister. "What about you? Do you wish for anything?"

"I wish the world was a gentler place."Nunnally admitted.

"When the day finally comes that you can see again, I'm sure that it will be."Lelouch stated.

"Really?"Nunnally asked.

"I promise."Lelouch vowed.

A bittersweet smile grew on Rin's smile at the vow of Lelouch of making the world a peaceful place for all of them. Especially Nunnally.

It was an impossible dream.

It can't never happen.

"The truth is there are very few paths our future can take. The Ashford family is sheltering us for now, but how long can that last?"Lelouch thought. "If our identity is exposed, even Rival, Shirley, and the others will abandon us. We'll end up political tools, or casualty of royal ambition. I have to build a world where Nunnally can at least find happiness."

Rin looked at her childhood friends as she became lost in her thoughts as well.

"I wish I can help Lelouch and Nunna."Rin thought with a sad expression. "I'm grateful that the Ashfords are sheltering them because they used to support Lady Marianne. But what future they will have after they finished school? Lelouch will have many doors open for him and sadly neither will be open for Nunnally because of her conditions. The Royal Family can't never discover them. Otherwise, the Emperor will use them as pawns like the rest of his children."

Lelouch held his sister's hands with his own.

Then, Nunnally intertwined her pinky with Lelouch's and held it with one hands linking.

The former prince was curious with what she was doing while Rin was familiar with the pinky promise.

"Sayoko taught me this the other day. It's called a Japanese promise."Nunnally complemented before she started to shake her hand, while she sings, "Cross my heart, hope to die, eat a thousand needles, if I lie. Pinky promise song~"

"Well that's scary."Lelouch chuckled. "I may have to eat a thousand needles someday."

"Oh, yeah."Rin chuckled as she remembered something. "That reminds me. We did promise our mothers that we would become amazing young ladies someday. Remember that, Nunna?"

"Yes. That's right."Nunnally agreed and looked at Lelouch. "So I'd better not catch you telling lies, okay?"

"Don't you worry. I'll never lie, I swear."Lelouch assured and thought. "Not to you anyway."

The Next Morning…

Lelouch was looking down at the river of the school with his Geass in the reflection.

"This is the only weapon I have."Lelouch thought. "And I don't even know how to use it."

"Lelouch!"A teacher called out. "Class will be starting in a minute, you know!"

"Oh, yes sir."Lelouch answered and then activated his Geass. "Um, sir? What are the topics going to be for the essays on your next exam?"

The Geass went into the teacher's mind and his eyes covered by red circles.

"The humiliation of Edinburgh, the transfer of the capital, and north and south war topics."the teacher replied.

"So, I haven't lost the power, then."Lelouch thought and then asked the teacher about the exams. "Sir? What exactly are the topics going to be for the essays on your next exam?"

"Right, very funny. Maybe you should try studying, huh?"the teacher suggested. "Just apply yourself, you'll do fine."

The teacher walked away as Lelouch smiled upon knowing how his Geass power worked.

"Yes, sir!"Lelouch answered and smiled. "As I suspected, I can only use it on a person once."

On the Roof…

Kallen was on her phone speaking with her older brother, Naoto.

"So, how's campus life treating you, little sister?"Naoto asked.

"Stifling."Kallen retorted. "I was stuck in history class yesterday. Look, maybe I should just head back."

"Bad idea."Naoto informed. "The army's on a high alert right now. It's best you stay in school until things cool off."

"I don't know about that."Kallen said with a frown. "You know I hate Britannians and having to act like a helpless puppy."

Naoto let out a chuckle at his younger sister's reply.

"Well, you just have to get use to it. Dad would want you to be in school."Naoto reminded. "Anyway, neither me or the rest haven't got anything from the voice on the radio. Forget about Shinjuku for now. I'll be in touch."

Naoto then added the call with Kallen as the red haired girl placed away her phone.

"Shinjuku...I guess he's right, but..."Kallen thought.

"Don't tell anyone about Shinjuku."

Kallen placed away her phone to think about what happened in Shinjuku.

The voice.

The tactics.

Her mind was riddled with questions until a thought came to her about a certain boy with violet eyes and black hair.

"No, it couldn't have been his voice."Kallen thought.

Soon after, all the students headed to their classes.

Lelouch acted normally, focused on some school business, along with Kallen, who feels that this was wasting her time as a student that her father put up with.

The red haired girl stared at him from her pencil case mirror as he answered a question, given by the teacher.

"The aristocracy was highly educated, with such an emphasis on edification and training, they produced a superior breed of ruler."Lelouch stated. "And secondly, they possessed heightened efficiency, since only a small number of the very best were carefully chosen from their ranks…"

"It could be...no, I can't remember well enough to be sure."Kallen thought.

"Good that will do."the teacher declared.

Lelouch then sat back on his seat, quietly looking at Kallen from behind.

"All I did was simply mention Shinjuku, but..."Lelouch thought.

"If he knows who I really am, then..."Kallen thought.

"At the first opportunity..."Lelouch thought.

"I need to take care of him."Kallen thought.

When the class bell rang, everyone was packing their school papers and leaves the classroom.

Lelouch was packing in his bag as Shirley came up to him asking if he's free for the day.

"Hey Lulu, you coming along?"Shirley asked.

"Sorry, maybe some other time."Lelouch suggested.

Lelouch then walked out of the classroom and was being watched by Kallen, who was talking to a couple of girls.

Rin came out of a classroom and headed into the hallway with the other students that were with her.

The brunette notice her phone, starting to ring and brought it out to answer it.

"Hello?"Rin asked and a voice responded to her. "Oh. Hey, Kaguya."

Kallen went out to the school field and stood near a tree, watching the clubhouse which was where Lelouch and Nunnally lived.

"Lelouch Lamperouge."Kallen thought."Living with his physically disabled sister in the clubhouse. I can't let him know who I am. Depending on his answer, I might have to."

Kallen became alarmed when she notice Lelouch approaching from behind.

"What are you doing here?"Lelouch questioned."If you come to the clubhouse for something, wouldn't it be better if you just went in?"

Kallen didn't say anything as she turned around to talk to Lelouch while one of her hands was behind her back.

"Were you the one in Shinjuku?"Kallen asked.

"What do you mean?"Lelouch said.

"Don't play dumb."Kallen retorted. "You brought up Shinjuku the other day. Why?"

A pink pouch appeared from Kallen's hidden hand.

"Why do you ask?"Lelouch questioned."Is there something wrong with Shinjuku?"

"Don't answer my question with a question."Kallen retorted."Yes or no, that's all I wanna hear out of you."

Behind her back, Kallen flicked her pink pouch to stick out a knife, prepared to stab Lelouch if necessary.

Kallen's phone suddenly started ringing, much to her dismay.

"Aren't you going to answer that?"Lelouch asked.

Kallen looked away to answer her phone.

Who could be calling her in a time like this?

"Yes?"Kallen spoke up.

"Glad you still alive, Q1."

Kallen's eyes widen with realisation.

It was the same familiar voice.

The caller was the same voice she heard over the radio and it was talking to her through the school phone.

"So I'm wrong."Kallen thought. "It's not Lelouch."

The red haired girl then focused back on what the mysterious person had to tell her.

"16:00, the day after tomorrow."the voice instructed. "The observation deck at Tokyo Tower. Come alone."

"Who are you? How did you arrange that cease-fire order?"Kallen demanded and the phone hung up. "Hey, don't hang up!"

"Did you say cease-fire?"Lelouch asked. "Sounds like you keep dangerous company."

"Oh, um, that was..."Kallen started.

"Let me guess...you're talking about a game?"Lelouch suggested. "Something online?"

"Yeah, you got me."Kallen remarked with a sheepish smile. "Cause, you know, I've been shut up in my house so long."

"That's what I was warning you about, when I told you not to bring up Shinjuku before."Lelouch commented. "Seriously, some guys will try to show you footage of what happened that day and it's pretty damn grim."

Lelouch then showed Kallen inside the isolated area in the clubhouse.

The room had two stairs on each sides, a set of tables, and balconies.

"I didn't even know this room existed."Kallen said.

"It's the club house for the student council."Lelouch explained. "They built as a ballroom for various special occasions."

"And we won't be disturbed inside here?"Kallen asked.

"Yes, that's correct."Lelouch agreed.

Shirley then called out from the balcony above.

"Here it is! I found it!"Shirley remarked. "Look! This is it, right?"

"What a relief you found our lab data."Nina said happily.

"Good."Rival commented as he rubbed his back. "My butt is killing me."

Milly came by to bring some meals from the kitchen followed by Rin, who was holding a baking glass dish that contained a tiramisu cake she made.

"Were you able to find it?"Milly asked. "Me and Rin finished up on our end, shall we dig in?"

"I happen to have made my super famous tiramisu that you all enjoy."Rin remarked.

"Wow!"Rivalz replied.

"Way to go, Milly and Rin!"Shirley cheered.

Rin smiled. "Don't mention it."

"You adore us, we know."Milly answered.

"Um, what is all of this?"Lelouch asked.

"Lelouch, don't you know? I thought that's why you brought her."Milly commented. "We're inducting Kallen into the student council. It was my grandfather's idea, actually."

"The Principal's?"Lelouch said.

"He thought it best, with her poor health she'd have a harder time with regular club activities."Milly exclaimed before introducing herself to Kallen. "Oh, I'm Milly, the president of the council. Pleasure to meet you."

"Oh, thank you, the pleasure's all mine."Kallen replied.

Rivalz, Shirley and Nina then introduced themselves to Kallen.

"I'm Rivalz, the secretary."Rivalz declared. "If there's anything you need to help with, I'm your man."

"Hi, I'm Shirley."Shirley said. "And I'm a member of the swim club. Welcome."

"Hi there, my name's Nina."Nina whispered, looking down.

"It's nice to meet all of you."Kallen answered.

Then Nunnally showed up on her wheelchair with 'Pizza Hut' boxes on her lap while Alice held a tray of cupcakes in her hands.

"Rin, I'm sorry but, do you think you could set these on the table for me?"Nunnally asked.

Rin nodded as she placed the baking dish she was holding on a table.

"Oh, sure, thanks, Nunna."Rin answered kindly. "Anything for you."

"Nunnally, what're you and Alice doing here?"Lelouch asked.

"Duh. We're helping with welcoming Kallen into the Student Council."Alice retorted. "I thought Rin told you."

Kallen's expression sadden at seeing Nunnally blind and unable to walk.

"This is Nunnally, Lelouch's sister."Milly introduced.

"And I'm Alice."Alice replied. "I'm Nunnally's best friend."

"We're still in the middle school group, so we can't be on the council yet."Nunnally said.

"That's alright."Rivalz assured. "You are both honorary members in our book."

"Hello there, it's a pleasure to meet you, Kallen."Nunnally greeted.

"Thank you."Kallen replied gently. "You as well."

Rivalz then placed a bottle of champagne on the table after the meals and desserts were put in place.

"Right."Rivalz remarked. "Shall we kick this off with a toast?"

"Champagne?"Shirley said in surprise.

"Yeah, but we're on the Student Council."Nina reminded. "We shouldn't..."

"Uh, come on! Just relax."Rivalz insisted as he prepared to open the bottle. "Loosen up, you guys! It's sparkling cider."

Shirley caught Rivalz to stop him from pouring out the champagne bottle.

"No way!"Shirley argued. "We're gonna get in trouble!"

Alice frowned. "Oh brother."

Due to her blindness, Nunnally couldn't see what was going on.

"What's going on?"Nunnally asked.

Milly gives Nunnally a cup of orange juice.

"Here, Nunnally."Milly said.

Rivalz tried to open the cap, Shirley tried to grab it from him, but he struggles against her, as he turns to Lelouch.

"Lelouch!"Rivalz called out. "Heads up!"

Rivalz throws the bottle to Lelouch causing Shirley to push him aside and try to grab it from the former prince, pushing him down.

"You aren't getting well with it either, Lulu!"Shirley yelled."C'mon, Lulu! Let me see that bottle!"

An irritated sigh escaped Rin's mouth as she grabbed the bottle of champagne from Lelouch's hands.

"Okay. That's enough, guys."Rin scowled. "Rivalz, you know that we-"

The bottle cap pops out over Rin's head before a spray of champagne splashes her and her uniform, effectively soaking her with sticky substances.

"What just happened?"Nunnally asked.

Rin later went to the showers to take off her sticky school uniform and wash herself from head to toe.

The brunette had a slender yet voluptuous figure with a well-endowed chest while her chesnut brown hair was revealed to fall to just past her waist when wet.

"I never liked getting dirty to begin with."Rin muttered.

Suddenly there was a knock on the door causing her to become a bit alarmed.

"Who is it?"Rin asked.

"It's Lelouch."Lelouch said. "I've brought you a change of clothes."

Rin's cheeks dusted pink as she quickly drawn the curtain so that Lelouch won't see her.

"You can come in."Rin assured. "I've drawn the curtain already."

Lelouch came in and tried to ignore Rin's silhouette from the curtain.

"Sorry about all this, Rin."Lelouch apologised. "I know they can be a little over the top."

"That's okay."Rin responded as she was washed her face. "After all, everyone cuts loose now and again."

"These are some of my clothes."Lelouch stated. "Hope that's okay."

Rin smiled awkwardly at hearing that Lelouch brought his own clothes for her to wear.

"It's cool, Lelouch."Rin assured as she washed her shoulders. "Don't worry about it."

The brunette then moved her arms to hug her chest and her cheeks became more red when she realised Lelouch still hasn't left the room.

"Umm...Lelouch?"Rin spoke up.

"Yeah?"Lelouch asked.

"Aren't you going to go now?"Rin suggested. "It's improper to watch a girl shower you know."

Lelouch smirked at Rin's shyness, finding it adorable.

"Fine."Lelouch replied, secretly a little disappointed. "See you later."

The raven haired boy left the showers causing Rin to sign in relief.

She never wanted anyone to watch her as if enjoying a show.

"Next time I'll make sure to get my own clothes."Rin muttered.

After Rin had changed, she returned to the ballroom with Lelouch and saw the others watching the news when they arrived back.

"Lelouch, it's awful."Nunnally informed sadly.

"What is?"Lelouch asked.

"Prince Clovis has been found dead."Milly admitted.

"They're saying he was killed."Rivalz added.

Rin became stunned while Lelouch simply frowned.

On the screen was Jeremiah Margrave, leader of the Pureblood fraction, was saying just how dreadful it was that Prince Clovis was murdered.

"Prince Clovis has been taken from us."Jeremiah announced. "He fought for peace and justice against all of the Elevens. He died a martyr. We must all bury our sorrow, and carry on his will."

Rin's eyes widen when she saw Jeremiah on the screen since she remembered seeing him before.

"That soldier."Rin thought suspciously."I've seen him before in Aries Villa."

The brunette brought her attention back on the TV.

"We interrupt this broadcast with breaking news. The man suspected as the murderer has been captured."the female TV broadcaster declared. "According to this report, the suspect is an honorary Britanian."

The TV Screen showed Suzaku taken captive by the police.

"Private Suzaku Kururugi, a former Eleven and honorary Britanian."the female TV broadcaster stated. "I repeat, Suzaku Kururugi arrested for murder."

Both Lelouch and Rin became shocked at seeing Suzaku arrested for Prince Clovis' murder.

Oh, just a quick reminder! Naoto is the one alive and Ohgi is the one dead in this story. Ohgi is my very least favourite character in the anime due to many reasons. Anyway, I hope all of you have enjoyed this chapter and see you all in the next one:)
