Chapter 6: A New Boy in the Block
After inducting Suzaku into the Student Council, a lot of people (almost everybody) started warming up to him, but still enough for the students to respect him after saving Lelouch and Rin.
Rin was happy that slowly everybody were accepting Suzaku even though he was Japanese.
However, she found it worrisome when she recently heard that Princess Cornelia had become the new Viceroy of Area 11 with Euphemia taking the role of Sub-Viceroy to try to help her full-blooded sister in eradicating the terrorists.
"Cornelia is the Chief General of the Imperial Army and properly in Area 11 to eliminate all the resistance groups beside apprehending Zero for murdering Clovis."Rin thought while tearing the cream filling on her dessert with her spoon."Euphie maybe Cornelia's younger sister, but she is nothing like her. She is a kind-hearted person and unfortunately naive as well. Shouldn't the role of Sub-Viceroy go to someone with more military and piloting skills like Castor, Pollux or-"
Rin came out of her thoughts when she heard a knock outside her bedroom door.
"Come in."Rin insisted.
The door slid open revealing Kaguya wearing a pink dress that stopped at her knees and white tights with black flats.
"Hey, Rin."Kaguya greeted.
"Hi, Kaguya."Rin responded. "What's up?"
"I've been wanting to ask you something."Kaguya admitted.
Kaguya went inside the room and sat next to Rin.
"Sure."Rin insisted as she took a sip from her cup of matcha tea.
"Is it true Suzaku is now attending Ashford Academy?"Kaguya asked.
"Yeah."Rin replied with a nod. "He started attending a few weeks ago."
"Is everyone accepting him?"Kaguya questioned.
Rin twirled around the small piece of meat in her chopsticks.
"His now part of the Student Council even though there are some who don't want him part of the school."Rin exclaimed. "But his doing alright."
"So, does that mean I can attend the academy too?"Kaguya suggested.
Rin but her lip as she rubbed the back of her head.
"I don't know about that."Rin commented. "But I'll first have to check with Principal Ashford to see if you can."
"Yippee!"Kaguya cheered and hugged Rin. "Thanks, Rin! Your the best!"
Rin smiled and hugged Kaguya.
"You're welcome, Kaguya."Rin answered.
In Ashford Academy…
A small groan escaped the spiky silver haired boy's mouth as he gained consciousness and noticed that he was lying on a bed in a room that looked like a school infirmary.
How long had it been since he passed out?
He then noticed that there was a blonde haired girl wearing a school uniform that he didn't recognize.
She was sitting on a nearby chair reading a magazine.
She didn't seem to notice that he was awake yet.
"Where am I?"the boy asked.
Milly then finally noticed that the boy was awake and placed the magazine.
"Ah, so you are finally awake I see?"Milly remarked and glanced at the door. "Hey everyone, come in here. He is awake now!"
After Milly shouted, several other students wearing school uniforms came in.
Lelouch stepped forward and began to speak.
"Your face says I don't know where I am."Lelouch commented suspiciously. "Well, we are the ones who are going to be asking the questions here."
Milly then raised her arm in front of Lelouch as if to prevent him from speaking or getting any closer to the silver haired boy.
"Stop antagonising him, Lelouch."Milly demanded with a frown. "You will just scare him if you keep talking like that."
Lelouch simply shrugged it off with a simple 'Hmph' as he continued to give the boy a suspicious glare.
Milly then smiled and started to speak to the silver haired boy again.
"It's alright, you have nothing to worry about."Milly assured. "You can safely ignore him. He is not that scary at all really."
"I wonder about that."the silver haired boy thought silently.
Milly then introduced herself to the boy.
"Oh, I almost forgot. My name is Milly Ashford."Milly explained. "I am the president of Ashford Academy's student council. I am also the one who helped you out."
"Ashford…Academy…"the silver haired boy murmured.
"Yes, that is right."Milly replied with a nod. "Anyways, after you fainted in front of the school gates we carried you over to the infirmary. You have been sleeping for several hours. You really had me worried there."
"You…were worried about me?"the silver haired boy said in surprise.
The thought that someone was worried about him made him felt more at ease.
"Of course. We had a nurse examine you while you were passed out to make sure you were alright, but there didn't seem to be anything wrong."Milly chuckled. "In any case it is hard not knowing what to call you so could you tell us your name please. I really would like to know."
"My…name?"the silver haired boy said quietly.
As he sat there in silence for a few seconds something finally dawned upon him.
That's right, what was his name?
Who he was?
The silver haired boy closed his eyes trying to remember what his name was.
After a few seconds of thinking, the letters of his name finally started to resurface in his mind, at least his first name anyways.
His last name seemed to have been wiped clean from his memories.
For right now though he just hoped that his first name will be enough for them.
"My name is Rai."the silver haired boy answered.
"Rai, is it?"Milly asked. "What an interesting name."
"So, who exactly are you…ugh!"Lelouch started.
Lelouch tried speak again, but got elbowed in the chest by Milly.
"Let's introduce ourselves first before asking questions."Milly insisted.
Milly then turned towards everyone else in the room and shouted out.
"Come on, everyone."Milly insisted. "Let's introduce ourselves!"
Milly then turned back towards Lelouch and pointed her finger at him.
"We will start with you first since you are the one causing all the discomfort here."Milly remarked.
Lelouch sighed and then looked forward to introduce himself properly.
"Lelouch Lamperouge."Lelouch responded.
Rivalz, who was standing next to Lelouch, then introduced himself.
I'm Rivalz."Rivalz replied. "Rivalz Cardemonde."
Following him was Shirley to speak next.
"My name is Shirley Fenette."Shirley responded with a cheerful smile. "It is nice to meet you!"
After her was Suzaku to introduce himself.
"The name is Suzaku Kururugi."Suzaku answered. "It is a pleasure meeting you."
Lelouch notice the clothes that Rai wore were similar to the ones that C.C wore.
So, the former prince of Britannia started to speak up again before Kallen and Nina got to introduce themselves.
"So Rai, who exactly are you?"Lelouch questioned. "And where are you from?"
Rai looked down with unsure expression.
"I don't know."Rai responded.
It was the truth.
It wasn't until that moment that he realised he didn't know who he was, where he came from or what he was even doing here.
His name and the knowledge necessary to survive was the only information he had about myself.
When he tried to remember anything else, his mind blacks out.
It's as if all the memories he had about himself was placed inside a box and then stored into a safe place which was then locked up and guarded by an unknown force, keeping him away from accessing them.
Rai's inner thoughts were then disrupted when Suzaku began speaking.
"You said you don't know."Suzaku said. "Could you have lost your memory?"
"That's what it sounds like to me."Rivalz agreed.
"Hmm, could he have amnesia?"Milly assumed sadly. "That can't be good…"
"If that is the case then we should hand him over to the police."Lelouch suggested. "They will be able to protect him and help with any problems he might have. Besides, there is not much we can do to help him anyways."
Milly, however, had something else in mind.
"Well then, until your memory returns would you like to stay here at Ashford Academy?"Milly asked.
"Huh?"Rai said in surprise.
"Madam President, what are you saying?"Lelouch questioned.
"Yeah! That sounds like a great idea!"Rivalz remarked in an excited manner.
Lelouch gives Rivalz an angry glare causing the blue haired boy to give his friend a nervous smile.
"You idiot!"Lelouch snapped. "Don't just agree immediately without giving it much thought!"
"Oh don't worry! I have already got everything prepared!"Milly announced joyfully. "I figured something like this might happen so I went ahead and got permission from my grandfather to let him stay if he wanted to."
"Madam President!"Lelouch protested. "Just like everything else this is all just for your own amusement!"
Lelouch then placed his hand over his head and sighed in defeat.
"Sometimes I just don't know what to do with you."Lelouch muttered.
Lelouch was right though.
It was too dangerous for them to get involved with the mysterious boy's problems.
But Rai didn't feel like going to the police for help either.
For some reason, something was telling him that he couldn't trust the police and they wouldn't be able to help me out anyways.
So, what was he going to do?
Milly then started to speak up again.
"It might be dangerous, but everything will be okay! My intuition says so."Milly exclaimed confidently. "Ever since I saw you, I felt that I shouldn't leave you alone as if fate has brought you here. So until your memory returns I will take care of any trouble that comes your way!"
Lelouch then chuckled to himself with a brighter mood than before.
"Apparently there is no helping it."Lelouch complemented. "The student council members are always helpless when it comes to her own crazy ideas, and then we always have to clean up after her mess."
It was settled then.
Nothing that the other student council members or Rai could say was going to change Milly's mind.
Whatever the blonde haired girl said so, Rai had a feeling of helplessness and defeat inside himself.
"Well, then it is decided then. To stay here you will have to register with the school and find an appropriate place to stay. You will also need a sponsor. I will take up that position for you."Milly stated before glancing at Nina and Kallen. "Now, let's introduce everyone else. The one with the glasses there is Nina Einstein. The quiet one over there is Kallen Stadtfeld."
"Hello…"Nina said in a quiet tone.
"Nice to meet you."Kallen greeted softly.
"And last but not least, the pretty girl sitting in the wheelchair over there is Nunnally."Milly declared. "And the girl next to her is her best friend, Alice Pelham."
Nunnally gives Rai a gentle smile while Alice gave him a slight salute.
"It is a pleasure to meet you, Rai."Nunnally said in a polite manner.
"Hey."Alice responded bluntly.
Milly then walked over to where Rai was sitting and put her hand on his shoulder to whisper to him.
"By the way, Nunnally is Lelouch's little sister."Milly whispered. "If you do anything, even as much as touch her in any strange way, Lelouch will 'not' like that."
Rai sweat dropped at Milly's reply.
"I will make sure to remember that."Rai assured.
"Good. In that case there is just one teeny thing left to take care of. Since you are now a student at this school, the rule states that all students at Ashford Academy are required to be in at least one club or extracurricular activity."Milly exclaimed. "Since I have decided to be your sponsor and to make things easier for you, I will let you join the student council, which I am also in charge of. Is that okay with you?"
"Uh yeah."Rai said with a smile. "I am okay with that…I guess."
A smirk sprung on Lelouch's face.
"You think you are okay with that now, but you'll expect a lot of paper work charging your way."Lelouch warned smugly. "You better be prepared to spend a lot of time hanging out with the President of the Student Council."
Rivalz then got excited about a new member joining the Student Council.
"Oh, wow! That is the third newest member of the Student Council this month!"Rivalz cheered."First Kallen, then Suzaku, and now we have Rai!"
"Well, now that we got that problem out of the way, I think it is time for all of us to head for bed."Milly admitted and smiled at Rai. "You can stay here in the infirmary for tonight, Rai. I will have a place for you stay in by tomorrow. Are you okay with that?"
Rai nodded. "Uh yeah."
"Good, and while we are on the subject I will show you around the school tomorrow so you won't feel lost while you are staying here."Milly sneered with a wink."And remember; if you ever need any help don't hesitate to ask one of the student council members for advice. We will take care of any problem that comes your way."
"Thanks."Rai said with a sheepish smile.
"Good night and I hope you'll remember something in the morning."Milly remarked.
Rai gives Milly a nod.
"Yeah."Rai agreed."I hope I will as well."
After that, Milly and her gang of colourful bandwagon of Student Council members left the infirmary room, leaving Rai by himself.
Rai laid back down and started thinking to himself.
"What kind of situation I got myself into?"Rai thought. "I wonder how the me, who had all my memories would feel about all this?"
The silver haired boy then began to feel sleepy causing his eyes to slowly close.
Would he be happy to attend a school like this and meet all those people on the student council?
Oh, well.
There was nothing he can do about it now.
Until his memory returned, he would be stuck playing a school boy, which might have its own benefits.
He wondered what tomorrow will bring.
The Next Morning…
It was a peaceful morning at the Sumeragi residence.
Rin was still fast asleep, unaware of the morning sun shining through their window.
But when she let out a yawn and rubbed her eyes, the brunette panicked when she saw the time it was 08:10 am.
"Crud!"Rin panicked. "I'm late!"
Rin took off her pyjamas and placed on her school uniform before going to the mirror to do her hair.
She used her hands to style her dark brown hair in its usual 'cork-screw' curled pigtails and doing a braided hairband above her bangs, two small strands of hair which reached her chin let loose and straight.
"Bye, Kaguya!"Rin murmured with a jam toast in her mouth. "See you after school!"
Rin came rushing out of the house, dragging her school bag with her.
Then Kaguya came out while holding a large pink bag with bunnies on it which was, of course, was her cousin's lunch box.
"Rin! You forgot your lunch box!"Kaguya called out and sweat dropped."This is going to be a problem."
Rin arrived at the train station in order to get to school more quicker.
Her feet nervously shook as she stood inside the train to get to her destination.
"Ugh! I hate being late!"Rin thought with a scowling expression."I would possibly end up getting detention for sure!"
Rin immediately got out of the train to take the road which would lead her to Ashford Academy.
"This shortcut will save me a couple of minutes!"Rin complemented.
In Ashford Academy…
Rai was walking in the hallway with Milly.
The silver haired boy was dressed in the usual black uniform that all boys in Ashford Academy wore.
"Since you are slender like Lelouch, it should fit you perfectly."Milly remarked. "Once you are ready I will show you where to go to attend your classes."
"Classes?"Rai questioned.
"That's right."Milly agreed with a nod. "The student council members all decided that the best way for you to recover your memories is to attend class. Receiving education might trigger something in your head. But you will just be a temporary student for now."
"I see."Rai responded.
"Also, it was Lelouch who suggested the idea."Milly admitted.
Rai became surprised upon hearing it was the cold student was the one who wanted him to attend classes in the academy.
"Lelouch?"Rai asked with a puzzled look.
"I know Lelouch can act pretty harsh sometimes, but he really is a nice person once you are around the guy for a while."Milly explained. "He is just overprotective of the things he cares about, especially his younger sister Nunnally, that's all. He might be cautious towards you right now, but after a while I bet he will come around and the two of you will be great friends."
Rai looked down as Milly brought the two of them near a classroom.
"Come on, we have to get to our classes and once classes are finished for the day, I will show you all the different places that are on campus."Milly commented.
"Great."Rai responded.
"For now, you will attend the same classes as the other student council members so you will at least be with someone you met yesterday."Milly declared. "Also, I registered your name as Rai Elrod in the school computer. It will be your alias since we don't know your real last name yet."
"That's good."Rai agreed firmly. "Everyone will think I'm weird, if I don't have a surname."
"Well, I guess I will be heading to my own classes now."Milly remarked. "When classes are over, I will show you the rest of the school campus. See you later."
Milly then went off to attend her classes as Rai went to his.
As soon as Rai entered the classroom all the students turned to look at him and started whispering to each other. They were most likely talking about him.
"Hello everyone, my name is Rai Elrod."Rai stated."I'm only a transfer student, but I look forward to studying with you all."
After Rai introduced himself, he went to sit at the back seats where Suzaku and Shirley were.
Once Rai sat down Suzaku, turned himself around to speak to us.
"Hey Rai."Suzaku greeted. "So you are going to be taking the same classes as the rest of us?"
"Yeah."Rai replied. "Milly thought it would be best if I took the same classes that all of you guys were in."
"You said your name was Rai Elrod right."Shirley commented."So does that mean you got some of your memories back?"
Rai shook his head.
"No, I still don't remember anything."Rai answered."Milly just made up a last name for me."
"You mean like an alias?"Suzaku assumed.
Rai nodded. "Exactly."
"Well, I'm sure you will regain your memories in due time."Shirley remarked and notice one of the seats were empty. "Hey. Have any of you seen, Rin?"
"I think she asked for sometime off."Suzaku suggested.
"Whose Rin?"Rai said in confusion.
Mr Froebel, the Geography teacher, glared at Rai, Suzaku and Shirley.
"Hey, you three in the back, quiet down!"Mr Froebel demanded."We are just about to start a new lesson!"
"Sorry, sir."Rai, Shirley and Suzaku said in unison.
Just then, the bell started ringing as Rin came inside the classroom.
"I'm here!"Rin announced while panting. "Sorry! I'm late!"
"And you're out, Miss Rossellini!"Mr Froebel declared firmly and glanced at the other students."Anyone else late in my class will be expected to clean the chalkboards at lunch!"
Rin bowed her head in defeat as the other students started laughing at her.
Lelouch sighed in disproval while Suzaku smiled sheepishly at Rin's misfortune.
"So that's Rin."Rai thought with a sweat drop on his head.
After finishing his last class, Rai was given a tour around Ashford Academy by Milly.
"This is where our swimming club holds most of daily training sessions."Milly explained. "When it is not being used by any clubs or physical education classes any students can have access to it, provided they get permission first of course."
"Hmm…"Rai murmured in thought.
Milly brought Rai to the auditorium room.
"This auditorium is used for several purposes."Milly declared. "While it is mostly used to hold assemblies and sponsor several school events it is also sometimes used by sports club on rainy days and such."
"I see."Rai said.
Milly and Rai arrived in front of the academy's chapel.
"And this here is Ashford Academy's very own chapel. Although, to be perfectly honest we don't really use for anything. Not even to hold religious sermons or anything."Milly exclaimed. "Oh, but I do know that students sometimes come here when they wish to have a silent and peaceful moment to themselves, so I guess there is that to consider."
"Is that right…"Rai responded.
This caused Milly to stare at Rai with such a demeaning look on her face.
"Hey Rai, were you even listening to me at all ever since this started?"Milly questioned.
"Huh. Yes."Rai replied with a nervous smile. "Of course, I was."
"Then could you at least try to show more enthusiasm and excitement?"Milly suggested. "Here I am giving this little tour just for you and yet I barely heard you say a single word. Don't tell me I'm gonna have to try and put you under one of my special 'guts' spells?"
Milly then started to look straight into Rai's eyes with a mischievous smile of her face.
"Huh...your…uh…what now…?"Rai asked in confusion.
Milly then let out a light laugh which made Rai more confused.
"Oh never mind. Jeezs, you seem to be more dense then being an amnesiac."Milly chuckled. "But I suppose that is just something we can improve on later. Come on, let's continue on with the tour then, shall we?"
"Ummm…yeah."Rai answered.
Afterwards, Milly continued to show Rai around more areas of the school grounds until eventually they made our last stop which was at the student council clubhouse.
"This is our clubhouse. We have all of our student council meetings here. We also hold several different types of school events here too like at the auditorium."Milly stated. "This will also be the place where you will be staying on your time here at Ashford."
"Huh…you mean I will be living here?"Rai assumed.
"Yes, since you are a 'special' student here I decided to let you live in here instead of one of the dorms."Milly said. "It will also be easier for me to keep an eye on you. Oh, and just so you know you won't be living here alone. Lelouch and Nunnally reside here as well. They will be like your neighbours."
"Lelouch and Nunnally?"Rai questioned in surprise.
"You know Nunnally is in a wheelchair, right?"Milly asked.
Rai nodded. "Yes. I think I remember that."
"Well, it would be difficult for her to live in the dorms in her condition."Milly exclaimed. "So, my grandfather gave special permission for those two to reside in the clubhouse."
"I understand."Rai responded.
"Well, I'm sure the three of you will get along fine living in the clubhouse together."Milly assured.
The blonde haired girl then guided Rai to the room that he be staying in.
Once they got there, she handed him the key for the room.
"This will be your room for the time being."Milly complemented. "I hope you enjoyed your tour of Ashford Academy. I know I enjoyed it, even if you were acting shy through most of it."
"Right."Rai chuckled slightly. "Thanks, Milly."
In the Clubhouse of Ashford Academy…
Lelouch entered his room and was greeted by C.C, who was laying down on his bed.
"So, how is our new neighbour?"C.C asked. "Did you get any new information out of him?"
"No, I didn't."Lelouch answered. "I just had a little chat with him to ensure Nunnally's safety while in his presence."
"A man without memories wouldn't know who he is loyal to or where he belongs."C.C responded. "Besides, aren't you getting ahead of yourself about someone you have just met? I think you are being a little bit too paranoid about all this."
Lelouch frowned at the green haired witch's reply.
"I'm being a little too paranoid, huh? And you think someone as mysterious as him suddenly appearing to me after everything that has happened that last few weeks isn't a coincidence at all?"Lelouch questioned. "I believe I have every right to be suspicious of him. For all I know, he could be a spy or agent sent from the Britannian Military or even possibly the Imperial Family. Maybe even possibly from one of the other two superpower countries."
A sigh came out from C.C's mouth.
"There you go again."C.C complemented."Delving into that big head of yours and thinking too hard about all this. So then, what do you plan on doing now regarding him?"
"For now I will let Rai live here and do whatever he wants. It will give me the chance to study him and figure out his true identity."Lelouch stated and narrowed his eyes a bit. "Once I know who he really is, I will know how to deal with him."
C.C smirked. "When that time comes, we will all be amazed by who the real Rai is."
"Heh."Lelouch chuckled. "Perhaps we will be amazed."
C.C. simply sat back on the bed and smiled to herself.
In the Student Council Room…
Nina was typing information in the computer while eating her sandwiches.
"Hmm."Nina murmured slightly."If I can just separate them."
The dark green haired girl had just popped her last sandwich into her mouth when she heard a moan coming from the doorway which made her so startled that she swallowed it immediately and stand up from her seat.
Nina then turned around to find a very hungry and weak Rin standing there, appearing to be on the brink of collapsing.
"Nina."Rin whimpered while she leaned on the door. "I finally found you."
"R-Rin?! You startled me!"Nina commented. "What's the matter with you?"
Rin didn't answer Nina, for she had caught sight of her lunch box.
The brunette, seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, immediately rushed over to her lunch box, hoping to satisfy her hunger.
But much to her horror, she found Nina's lunch box to be empty.
"Sorry about that, Rin. I just finished my lunch."Nina apologised with a smile and sweat dropped. "I take it you forgot yours?"
Rin could only respond with a small whimper, her eyes filling with tears as her stomach growled loudly in hunger.
The brunette felt so weak with hunger that she practically fell over, almost fainting.
Nina feeling a bit panicked, immediately caught Rin trying to keep her awake by shaking her wildly.
"Come on, Rin! Snap out of it!"Nina protested in shock."I'll get you some juice or something!"
At a Bar…
Jeremiah and Villetta sat on their barstools and had their liqueur drinks.
"So, about this Orange thing…"Villetta started.
Jeremiah glared at Villetta.
"Sorry to bring it up."Villetta apologised. "Is this whole thing true, though? That you can't remember anything about when Private Suzaku Kururugi was taken."
"I don't expect you to believe me."Jeremiah commented.
"No, it's just that…during the whole Shinjuku incident, I suffered some sort of memory lapse also."Villetta admitted.
"You did?"Jeremiah asked.
"By the time I regained my senses, my Sutherland had been stolen."Villetta explained. "But right before that entire gap in my memory, I remember running into some high school kid."
"So you think it was that student?"Jeremiah suggested.
"I can't remember his face, but there may still be a way to get to the bottom of this."Villetta declared. "Are you familiar with Ashford Academy?"
"I know the Principal; Lord Ruben Ashford."Jeremiah replied. "He was one of the people, who supported Lady Marianne…before her death. Why do I ask?"
"I believe the student that I encountered in Shinjuku might be attending there."Villetta admitted. "I think it's best to start investigating there."
At Ashford Academy…
Rin was being scolded by Mr Froebel, much to her displeasure.
"Miss Rossellini! You were late this morning and your stomach has disrupted the class continuously!"Mr Froebel retorted. "Honestly, what in the world am I going to do with you?!"
All Rin could do was bow in repentance.
"I'm so sorry, sir."Rin apologised. "It won't happen again."
"Never mind."Mr Froebel sighed. "Just go and get something to eat already."
Rin then sadly walked out of the school, feeling miserable and hungry.
The brunette was starving and the sight of all the other students, particularly couples, eating their lunches together wasn't helping her much either.
The brunette arrived to the clubhouse, only to find Lelouch and Suzaku waiting for her.
"Hey, Rin."Suzaku greeted. "Are you feeling alright?"
Rin dropped her knees as she let out a moan of agony.
"Nope, not really."Rin moaned bitterly."I'm so hungry that I can't feel anything at all."
"You don't say."Suzaku said while sweat dropping.
Lelouch frowned. "Then maybe this should help you."
Lelouch revealed something in his hands that was Rin's lunch bag which made the girl's mouth drool with hunger and her eyes overflow with tears of joy.
"Please tell me that I'm dreaming right now!"Rin sobbed happily. "Is that my lunch?!"
"Yes."Lelouch responded bluntly. "It seems that Kaguya was trying to give it to you this morning, but she wasn't able to."
"You'll have to thank Miss Sayoko since she went all the way to get it."Suzaku stated.
Rin immediately snatched up her lunch bag and hugged it tight, happy that she was finally going to have a chance to eat at last.
"I love you! I love you!"Rin sobbed in delight. "I love you! I love you!"
Rin immediately started devouring the bell peppers, okra and fried shrimp in her lunchbox.
"You know you could've eaten the food in the cafeteria, Rin."Suzaku informed.
An angry look appeared on Rin's face which startled both Lelouch and Suzaku's face.
"No!"Rin snapped firmly."I would rather starve to death than eat the greasy food that the lunch ladies serve!"
The brunette continued shovelling her lunch down her throat.
"If you ate in the cafeteria, everyone will have to see your monstrous appetite."Lelouch scoffed and lightly facepalmed."But for some weird reason, me and Suzaku are the only ones that can handle seeing it."
Suzaku let out a nervous chuckle.
At Stadtfeld Manor…
Naoto was speaking to Minami on the phone.
"So Cornelia is targeting the Saitama Ghetto next?"Naoto questioned with a frown. "But what for? There is very less terrorist groups and many innocent civilians living there."
"It seems that she is willing to repeat the same damn massacre that Prince Clovis did in Shinjuku."Minami commented.
Naoto scoffed in disgust upon known Cornelia was willing to sacrifice civilians in their destroyed country without having any remorse.
"Mostly likely to lure out Zero."Naoto muttered and spoke to Minami. "Alright. I'll tell Rin about this. She'll decide what we should do about this."
Naoto ended the call as he let out a sigh.
CRASH!
Naoto became alarmed at the sound coming from outside his bedroom door and saw one of the vase has gotten broken.
The red haired boy's attention went over to the Japanese maid, who was picking up the pieces by herself.
"I'm sorry, Master Naoto."Aiko apologised gently. "Did I disturb you?"
"No, mother."Naoto said with a sad frown. "Let me help you out."
However, just before Naoto could come out of his room and help his mother clean the mess, his step-mother came up the stairs.
Delilah Stadtfeld was a middle aged woman with light blonde hair and cold blue eyes. She wore a stylish purple long dress with a red sash headband on her head and gold earrings on her ears.
"You insolent monkey!"Delilah scowled.
SLAP!
Naoto flinched and closed his eyes as he heard his step-mother hit his mother directly on the face.
"You are a maid of my house yet you are only capable of doing a mess!"Delilah snapped. "You honestly can't do anything, right!"
"Forgive me, my lady."Aiko apologised with a gentle smile. "It won't happen again."
Delilah scowled and walked away as Naoto glared at her with a hateful glare.
Since she could not bear any children of her own, Delilah accepted her husband's proposal to adopt his children Naoto and Kallen as his heirs.
Though Mrs Stadtfeld ordered Aiko to never to see her children again, she refused and managed to persuade the Stadtfelds to hire her as a maid in their house.
However, Naoto was aware that his step-mother was openly abusive towards his mother, often hitting her whenever any of the servants in the household make a mistake.
But once his father, Baron James Stadtfeld, made him the head of the house, he was will make sure to change everything for the better.
Not just for himself, his sister and their mother.
Also, for everyone close to him.
At Ashford Academy…
Rin was carrying a box that contained costumes for Arthur's Welcome Party while following Lelouch at the stairs.
"Hey, Lelouch."Rin spoke up. "How do you feel about Arthur's welcoming party?"
"Well, it's alright."Lelouch remarked and frowned. "It's fair better than the cross dressing festival."
The brunette shivered uncomfortably at the thought of the cross dressing festival.
"Good point."Rin chuckled nervously. "This is far better than-"
Rin suddenly tripped and fell forward with Lelouch turning his head and noticing the girl beginning to fall down the stairs towards him.
Reacting quickly, the former prince quickly moved himself into position to intercept the falling girl as he barely managed to catch her.
Rin threw her arms around the young man as she fell against the boy breaking her fall, but her weight caused Lelouch to fall backwards and land on the ground with a thud.
Now Lelouch was on his back with Rin on top of him after she fell down.
The two teenagers at the moment, completely ignoring any discomfort they might have felt from that fall as they looked deep into each other's eyes.
A pink blush formed on Rin's cheeks, when she notice her face was a few inches from Lelouch and her hands gripped his shoulders.
Since they were close to one another, Lelouch felt Rin's heart beating.
But this also allowed the girl on top of the former prince to notice the same thing as she felt Lelouch's heart rate increase.
The brunette then closed her eyes and then slowly planting her soft lips upon the lips of the young man she was atop of and secretly loved since her childhood.
But yet to her surprise, Lelouch just gave her a smirk and then returned the kiss.
Soon the two teenagers were engaged in their first kiss, completely ignoring the problems in the world at the moment.
For once, Lelouch wasn't thinking about destroying Britannia and just enjoying the feathered soft lips that belonged to the very beautiful woman on top of him.
The kiss was smooth and graceful for every young couple that were in love. Especially childhood friends.
Then Rin broke off the kiss to stare at Lelouch with a shy expression.
"So, uh, how was it?"Rin asked shyly.
"Wonderful."Lelouch replied with a smug smile. "But we should've done this more sooner."
"Lelouch, you pervert."Rin giggled.
Rin got off of Lelouch before the two of them stood up to pick the costumes and place them back inside the box.
When there was one costume left, Rin and Lelouch both reached out their hand to pick it, only for their hands to be placed on each other.
Both the teenagers blushed and share a smile before getting off the ground.
"Shall we go?"Lelouch asked as he picked up the box.
Rin blushed and smiled brightly as she held Lelouch's arm.
"Right."Rin chuckled as she held Lelouch's arm. "Let's go."
The brunette held the man that she loved by the arm as the two of them headed off to the meeting of the Student Council.
Lelouch and Rin are now a couple while Rai has entered the scene. I'm thinking of pairing him with Kallen since he will be later on be part of the Black Knights. See you all in the next chapter that has more action and have a happy new year!
