King
The Hero of Heros
Musutafu
It was the middle of the day as the cacophony of murmurs and gossip talk filled a fast food restaurant of MicWonald's in Musutafu, fryers and stove-tops sizzled and steamed as food was being cooked and prepared for the customers in line; However much of the ongoing talking soon silenced with shocked gasps and awe struck face once everyone took notice of King walking in through the front door, his momentary stoic glance across the room caused most onlookers to shyly look away while stealing a few glances King's way as he walked to get in line to make an order of food to go.
Once King stood behind the last person in line to wait, the guy and most of the rest waiting in line excused themselves to allow King to take his order first. "Mm." King let out an exhausted sound with a sigh afterwards and gestured for the customers to get back in line, "Please, don't mind me, I'll wait like any normal citizen." He encouraged the civilians with a simple nod.
King's comment alone earned a rather awed look from the crowd and those that were waiting in line, many were overjoyed to see a humble top ranked hero suggest such a thing. The customers that were once in line began to fight over who'd let King cut in line in front of who, all the while King himself let out an exhausted silent sigh that went unnoticed. "I just wanted to order some food." King muttered under his breath, with a slight grumble from his stomach.
What the folks in front of him heard was only 'food' and the sound of his stomach grumbling, "You know what, cut to the front King! Your appetite must be huge!" One customer said with eagerness.
"Yeah! I can wait for you to get your order!" another customer said while the rest began to part ways for King to head directly towards the cashier and give his order.
With a silent exhausted sigh escaping his lips that was not heard, King foregone the attempt to wait seeing as everyone else was adamant on letting him cut through the wait. Once King reached the counter, the worker did her best to put up a gracious smile. "W-welcome t-to W-wacdonald, um, s-sir!" the female worker announced with a shy and star struck look.
The only thing King could do was inwardly sigh and begin making a large order, it was going to be another one of those days. 'Gods of luck help me if I run into a villain on the way back to my hero agency.' King mentally said to himself in exasperation, before he pulled out a list of requested orders on a sheet of paper.
Meanwhile Just down the Street
The street was littered with wrecked vehicles and busted up street lights, a fire hydrant was busted and spraying water on one corner of the interstreet while several windows of the the surrounding buildings were busted and broken. A new sidekick working with King's hero agency is seen dodging several spongy looking fists from a villain, on the sides of the streets were incapacitated civilians with dried up skin and chapped lips. The sidekick in question was Sky Crawler, and he was working on a solution to take out the villain without touching the man.
"Whahaha!" Cackled Spongeman as he gleaned a maniacal smile towards Koichi Haimawari, aka The SkyCrawler. "Nothing you can do can stop me, just try and touch any part of me and you'll be a shriveled up prune in no time!" the villain boasted as he threw another punch at the Sidekick hero.
The Skycrawler deftly dodged the punch and backed away more to gain some grain between them and come up with a strategy to take the villain down. "There's more than one way for Justice to Prevail, villain, I'll see to it that you pay for your crimes!" The Skycrawler announced as he brought his arms up and used his 'Slide-n-glide' quirk to repulse a force field out from his forearms as the villain had rushed at him with another punch thrown at him. The effect was immediate as the attack narrowly brushed past him, allowing him to leap back some more .
As the two momentarily prepared for another attack upon each other, the Spongeman yellowish spongy skin became pale as a ghost while his expression became frightened. Koichi was about to make a witty comment on the sudden change in the villain's demeanor, but the next thing he heard stopped him from making a remark.
BUMP BUMP BUMP BUMP
The Spongeman villain began cowering backwards while the Skycrawler glanced over his shoulder to see a stoic faced King that had just come around the corner of the block, in his hands were two bags from the fast food restaurant just down the street. As both combatants stared back up at King, the strongest Hero on Earth simply stared back with a wide eyed imposing stare of dominance in the eyes of Koichi and the Villainous Spongeman. From King's point of view, he thought to himself, "I jinxed myself!"
BUMP BUMP BUMP BUMP
Koichi moved out of the way King's line of vision, whom's line of sight was directed at the villain he was just fighting, "Boss!" he exclaimed in worry as he glanced between the wavering villain and his boss of the Agency he now worked for. "I have it covered-" he was about to explain to King, only for the King's engine to thrum more loudly.
BUMP BUMP BUMP BUMP BUMP
"Why now of all times! All I wanted to do was pick up some food for the others!" King mentally yelled in his mind, all the while his face and posture belied his inner thoughts. "You got this Koichi?" he began to try and ask, then said "The food will get cold if I don't get this stuff back at the agency soon." he tried to explain to his sidekick of his agency, unfortunately he was in a nervous breakdown that he only managed to string together a few intelligible words.
From Koichi's distance, he managed to hear '...got this Koichi…get back…the agency…'. It was bad enough the alarms of the surrounding buildings were going off from being wrecked, and now it made hearing King's words a bit hard; However Koichi was able to put together what King said as, "I got this, get back to the agency." he reasoned what King must have said, his eyes hardened and made a hasty retreat white a two finger salute to King. "Very well sir, I'll leave it to you!" he responded to King while getting as much distance between himself and the no doubt slaughter that was about to commence between King and the Spongeman.
The Spongeman Villain on the other hand only managed to grasp the words, "Cold…stuff." The villain began to sweat in fear, "He already knows one of my weaknesses?" the villain questioned in panic, "How, he just arrived on scene, and he's already surmised my weakness is cold, alongside absorbing too much grease into my skin via contact!" The Spongeman villain yelled in fright within his mind, his eyes then landed on the bags of fast food in his hands. "Oh shit! He came prepared with greasy food as well! He must have somehow known I'd be coming here somehow!" the villain yelled in his mind.
Meanwhile with King, his heart beated faster while he stared over at the villain, "Crap! Koichi left me! How am I supposed to get out of this one!?" King panicked inwardly, whilst his face was that of a stoney facade as he stared directly at the villainous Spongeman. "Okay, try and calm down, there's got to be a way I can bluff my way out of this one!" King mentally reasoned with himself.
BUMPBUMP BUMPBUMP BUMPBUMP
From the villain's point of view, the sound of the King's engine seemed to pick up in tempo; The increase in tempo of the King's engine exacerbated the Villain's rising panic as he tried to back way, only to bump into an abandoned car. "Maybe I can just surrender! No way I can face the likes of King!" The sponge villain thought to himself.
King was the first to speak up between them with a sigh of exhaustion, "If it's possible, just give up." he began to say with a commanding look towards the Spongeman, "I'd hate for things to get messy with the food I have in my hands." King tried to explain to the villain
The villain however took it a different way, "wait what? No way it was that easy! I didn't even have to beg to be safely arrested!" The spongeman thought to himself, "No wait! I have to read between the lines! He said to give up, and things could get messy…." The villain began to sweat in panic, and in turn, his sweat was quickly absorbed into his spongy skin. "I'm fucked! He saying that there's no giving up, and he's about to turn me into a mess of limbs for attacking the citizens!" The Villainous Spongeman jumped to an extreme logical conclusion of reading between the words of what King said.
King took the villain's silence as an agreement, allowing him to sigh a breath of relief; King proceeded to hold both bags in one hand, and began rummaging through his hoodie's pocket to pull out his phone and call the authorities. The Villain on the other hand mistook King's sigh as an annoyed breath of air, "He's about to pull out a weapon! What kind of weapon? People say he uses nunchucks once. Shit! Is he this era's Bruce Lee? Is he about to stomp a finishing move on my chest like the old movies? Shit shit shit!" The villain's panicking went into hyper mode as time began to move slowly for him as King began to pull out something from his hoodie's pocket.
"He's going to pulverize me! I just know it….I…I…" Was all that trailed off in the Villains thoughts, before his vision went dark and collapsed to the ground while frothing out the mouth from his overreaction and over thinking of what King was going to do to him.
Meanwhile, from King's perspective, he had just pulled out his phone when the Villain collapsed into a frothing mess; King couldn't help but sweat drop, "I…what…I was only getting my phone out…" he muttered to himself.
"Huh, nice way to defeat your opponent." A voice spoke up behind King, prompting him to turn around slowly to see Mirko was standing behind him with an impressed look.
From Rumi's point of view, she had just arrived in Musutafu to see the hubbub that was King; Currently now, she had tried to rush and see how King fought when she heard a fight was in progress within his jurisdiction, and was stated to have been seen finishing one of his sidekick's fight against a rather troublesome villain. What Mirko did not expect was to arrive just in time to see the villain pass out from fear alone.
Once King turned to face her with an imposing face he's known for, Mirko couldn't help but crack a chuckle of mirth at King. She placed her hands on her hips as she eyed the passed out villain, "The stories weren't exaggerating, you can make villains pass out from fear of your presence alone." she quipped with an amused smile.
Bump bump bump bump
The King's engine could be heard, albeit at a softer rate of tempo, but to Mirko, it sounded like King was about to throw down from her better hearing; Mirko raised her hands up in mock surrender, "Easy there champ, I didn't come to fight here…although.." Mirko smirked at King with a challenging look, "It does sound like a promising prospect to throw down with Earth Strongest Hero." she boasted.
Bump bump bump bump
"I was only kidding!" Mirko sweat and shyly looked away, she's heard how King could finish a fight without lifting a finger; That said many things about his footwork, a challenge in its own rite to Mirko's career and how she opts to fight. "L-l-listen, I just came by to hit you up, you know, trade stories..maybe?" she chuckled nervously before glancing back at King, whom was leaving already.
"I gotta get out of here before anything more happens!" King yelled in his mind as he carried the fast food with him to his agency.
The sound of footsteps was heard before Mirko caught up with him, "So, King, how did you take down Muscular all those years?" she asked with a smirk while elbowing him, "Come on! It must have been one heck of a fight, you can tell me!" she reasoned with King.
"What's with this woman!? I don't even know how Muscular ended up in a fiery explosion all those years ago!" King thought to himself, "The past is the past, I don't enjoy regailing my fights in all honesty." He tried reasoning with Mirko.
"Tch…stingey eh? Then I'll go first!" Mirko challenged back, before she began regailing her first fight as a licensed hero; King on the other hand could only sweat drop in exasperation as Mirko talked his hears off. Meanwhile back where the Spongeman Villain layed passed out on the ground with foam leaving his lips, his limbs and fingers occasionally twitched but that was about it as he laid near motionless on the ground from passing out in fright.
At a rather modest sized two story building with a large 'K' for a logo hung outside at the front, King could be seen walking up to the entrance from the sidewalk with Mirko who was talking adamantly about her own fights. Civilians of various backgrounds could be seen muttering excitedly from the sidelines as King strode up to his hero agency, his casual glance their way sent the bystanders looking the other way out of embarrassment, shyness, or star struck. With a casual shrug from King, he continued to enter through the front doors to his hero agency, allowing him to be greeted to the scene of a few sidekicks; his entrance earned the attention that were present in the lobby.
"Nice digs." Mirko commented as she followed King into his agency, all the while King simply let out an exhausted silent sigh. "Why'd she have to follow me on the way back?" King asked himself.
"Oh!" Remarked Koichi as he rushed up to King and help with the bags of fast food, "I didn't know we were expecting you here, Mirko!" he said while he was offered the bags from King.
In response, Mirko shrugged and thumbed at King. "Eh, I was in the area, and thought King and I could swap battle stories." she remarked with a huff of pride.
"I never said I agreed to share stories! You just assumed and followed me here!" King inwardly yelled in his mind, but on the outside he had a calm facade that the rest took as a stoic hero that didn't want to bother regale about his past battles.
