King
The Kungfu Legend
(Who keeps spreading these rumors!?)
Musutafu
Within King's hero agency, the conversation between Mirko and King was an ongoing discussion of past battles against villains; though to be more specific, Mirko was the one doing the talking of her past battles in her one sided conversation with King. "So yeah." Mirko said while she brushed a stray strand of hair from her forehead as she kicked her feet up on one of the lounge chairs, all the while King was sitting at the front desk typing away on a computer to finish off his daily villain reports. "If I have to be honest, most villains out there barely put up a good fight." she boasted.
King stopped typing and looked up from his computer towards Mirko, "hmm." he simply offered as his reply, while on the inside he was getting rather annoyed. "Dammnit, what do you want from me?" He asked in his mind, all the while keeping an indifferent stoney face on the outside. Mirko flashed a vicious grin towards King as she swung her feet around to sit up, "So, now that I shared my own few stories, mind sharing yours? I'm dying to know how you managed to defeat Muscular so easily." she inquired from King.
King glanced to the side in thought, before he looked back at Mirko. "If I'm being honest, it was a quick fight." He offered as his explanation, "The details are still murky, even I don't remember much with how quick the fight ended." King said with a thoughtful expression, 'I had my eyes closed one moment, and the next I found the villain on the other side of the building I exited out from in a fiery explosion.' he thought to himself with a sweatdrop.
Mirko waved King's explanation off with a smirk, "Details, details, it was one of your first stints as a certified hero, if anything, I bet you used those kung-fu moves I hear you used to flip the guy over your shoulder." she reasoned to herself with a nod, "So what Rank are you in Judo? Cause whatever move you used, had to have been some form of karate move." she asked with a curious look on her face.
King momentarily thought to himself, if there was one truth to him, it was that he had a proficiency in Judo; Sir Nighteye was adamant that he at least learn some form of self defense, it's just King never had a chance to really use anything he learned when most of the time Villains either give up too early or are defeated by some random luck from his quirk. "hmm…I just reached first degree so far." he told Mirko with a nonchalant look, before he went back to writing up his report on the villain he had come across on his computer.
Flashing a grin of confidence, Mirko stood up from her chair and began stretching her arms above her body, before she brought her hands down to crack her knuckles. "Say, how about we thrown down some?" She challenged King with a look of anticipation, "All this talk about fighting villains has me raring to have a go at you myself." Mirko smirked at King as she practiced a few quick kicks.
King let out a soft sigh, 'What is with this woman? I need to finish this stuff so I can play the new game I bought.' he thought to himself, before he addressed Mirko's challenge. "Just to warn you, I already faced All Might a few times." he informed the rabbit themed hero with a stern look.
Flashing a dangerous look back, Mirko had her interest peak more. "Oh yeah, how'd it go?" she questioned the number two hero of Japan, no way King managed to win against the All Might. King stopped typing with a contemplative look, 'honestly, back then, the first time Yagi had me face him was at Sasaki's behest to test how far my Luck works in a combat situation." King thought inwardly to himself before he addressed the question at hand.
"It was after I got my hero license." King began to explain with a stone cold face to Mirko, making his story present all the more gravitas to how he began telling his story. "And I was still with his hero agency. Remember the news about the buildings that collapsed in Saitama ward?" he questioned Mirko, hoping he had to explain less of his first time he and Yagi tested out his quirk.
Crossing her arms as she thought back several years ago, she tried to remember if she recalled the news about such a thing, before she furrowed her brow in thought. "You mean the incident that was declared an act by some villain terrorist by the tabloids?" she questioned him. "Several empty warehouses were found destroyed." Mirko added.
Without missing a beat, King continued on. "It wasn't a terrorist act, it was a coverup by the Hero Public Safety Commission." he explained, before cutting off Mirko's next question. "It was a coverup to hide the fact that I sent All Might flying through those warehouses."
Mirko made a squawk of disbelief, "You're lying!" she denied, "Why would the Hero Public Safety Commission cover that up like that?" she asked, before making a dumbfounded face next. "Wait, back that up! No way you sent All Might flying through those warehouses!?" She denied the insinuation.
Lifting a brow, King answered back. "It's true." he began to say, before thinking to himself. 'Honestly, it happened at night at the docks, with little to no witnesses so Yagi wouldn't be seen in his normal form.' King began to think back to the time he and Yagi faced off against each other. 'Yagi slipped on a banana of all things when he charged at me, and went sailing past me and through several warehouses behind me." King finished reminiscing on the first time he and Yagi tested his Luck quirk out.
"Both All Might and I faced each other on a moonlit night." King began to regale the time Yagi tried his attempt at safely tackling King down to the ground. "With All Might starting the fight first, he initiated the fight by going for a tackle." King explained with a poker face, before thinking to himself', ''How a banana peel went unseen until Yagi charged at me, I'll never know, then again, it was a bit dark even under the light of a full moon." King then continued to explain his story to Mirko. "Next thing you know, All Might is sent flying over my shoulder and into the warehouses behind me."
Mirko's head tilted to the side a bit as she tried to come to terms with what King said with no hint of his face changing, not a lick of a tell was given of a bold face lie. Shaking herself out of her stupor, "So what were the other times you faced him?" she questioned King eagerly. "No way the first time you two faced off each other, ended up as a complete win for you." she accused King.
Just before King could tell any further tales of the times Yagi and him tested the limits of his quirk, the man of the hour, so to speak, entered in through the front doors in his emaciated form. "Ah, Kenshiro." Yagi began to say as he entered through the sliding doorways of King's hero agency, "I was in the neighborhood and thought I'd…oh hello." Yagi greeted Mirko with a friendly wave as he walked in towards the front desk where King sat.
Mirko's brow lifted in interest, with the news having broadcasted to the world of All Might's emaciated form after he faced off against All For One, the general public were now faced with the fact that All Might was no more and all that remained was the figure before her. Mirko flashed Yagi a grin, "Say, All Might." she began to say, only for Yagi to wave her off. "Please, just call me Yagi now." he sighed, before abruptly spitting out blood onto his shirt. "Hhrp." he covered his mouth in embarrassment.
"You gonna be okay?" Mirko asked the emaciated man, Yagi waved off her concerns. "Right…well." she began to continue asking, "Mind settling the record straight here? Is it true about your fights against King?" she asked with burning curiosity.
Yagi glanced over at King, who simply shrugged, before he looked back at Mirko. "Ask away, what fight were you two discussing?" he inquired with a measured response of curiosity.
Mirko gestured at King with a serious look, "This guy is saying he sent you flying through those warehouses all those years ago, is that true?" she inquired with a raised eyebrow.
Yagi brought his hand up to rub his chin, "hehe." he chuckled with mirth, "That was quite the fight, it barely lasted a second when I charged at Kenshiro. One moment I was running at him, the next moment I found myself lying on my back in a pile of rubble with several warehouses destroyed from my body being tossed through them." Yagi mused, before thinking to himself. 'I didn't think a banana peel of all things would send me flying, Kenshiro's luck is beyond baffling.'
'It's true!?' Mirko gaped in shock, before shutting her mouth with a growing grin of unease, "Oh yeah, what about the other times, surely you won at least one match against this guy." she thumbed over at King. "By the way." she mused with a glance at King. "Kenshiro?" she lifted an eyebrow. King shrugged in response with a look of indifference, "My parents were avid fans of the Fist of the North Star."
"Hmm. fitting." Mirko quirk a lip up in amusement, before she glanced back at Yagi. "So what were the other times like?" she asked.
Yagi sweat dropped while he rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment, "Well, there was the time he sent me flying through a mountain, and the other time we caused a construction site to fall atop of us with him coming out unscathed." he reminisced, all the while Mirko thought inwardly. 'What the heck, that shit's straight out like some shonen manga!' she thought to herself. With the urge to challenge King even more, Mirko made a toothy grin of excitement at the hero. "Hey-" She began try and challenge King to a fight, only for a loud siren to go off.
It was at that moment, King's cell phone went off, prompting him to pick up the call and put it to his ear while he stood up. "Yes…hmm…understood." he simply responded to the call, before hanging. 'Shit! Why is it always me? I thought this area would be less dangerous!' he panicked inwardly.
"Hey, big guy." Mirko snapped her fingers up at his face after walking over to him, she flashed him a grin. "With these ears of mine, I swore I heard the caller say something about Nomu." she inquired, "Is that right?"
King released a humm of thought, before answering. "A few are wreaking havoc on the city I'm in, and now I need to go out there and deal with them." he then thought to himself, 'why here though of all places?' King inwardly questioned.
Mirko's face twitched as she contemplated a contest of sorts. "Say, instead of a fight between us, how about we see who can dispatch those beasts first?" she challenged King with a look of excitement.
Just as King was about to protest, civilians could be heard screaming in fright from the outside, prompting Mirko to act first and dash out of the building. "Dibs on whatever is causing the ruckus outside." she yelled before exiting out of the building, leaving only King and Yagi to themselves.
"Quite the challenge, wouldn't you say?" Yagi said with bemusement at King's luck, leaving said man to sigh in despair. "Please don't rub it in, I don't think my Luck involves being fast." King said while he headed out, before stopping at the exit with his hands in his pockets. Turning to look at Yagi, "You gonna be alright here?" he asked his old boss, knowing Yagi couldn't use One For All no more.
With a smile in response, Yagi responded. "I'll be fine, don't you worry, now go out there and be a hero." he gestured for King to get a move on. "Right." King said with a sour look, before exiting out of his hero agency, "We can catch up later today when I get back." he hollered back as he left while Yagi waved him off.
