Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Shadows in the Dark. Enjoy the 2000-word chapter. I don't own Pokémon; Nintendo and a few others do.
Hervi sighed while he started to think of what to do next. He hadn't many clues on how to beat Marnie. The woman was used to himself while he started to think while he started to clear his throat.
'She's pretty good when it comes down to it. I don't think that I can beat her in a fight when it comes down to it.' Hervi thought to himself while he nodded to himself.
"I need to be honest," Hervi stated while he shook his head. "I'm well aware of the fact that you're probably going to be winning when it comes down to it," Hervi added as he looked at his Mimikyu.
He was also well aware of the fact that this woman was probably powerful. She had been a trainer for what seemed like years rather than months. He hadn't put in any training for the simple fact he didn't expect to be training when it came down to it.
Still? Hervi was entirely ready to go down fighting. If he was to lose? That was fine as long as he went down and left an impression on this girl in a Pokémon battle.
"Don't think this battle will be over so easily," Marnie stated while she smirked to herself. "Morpeko, thundershock!" Marnie added while she started to tap the bridge of her nose.
She watched while her Pokémon launched the attack at the Mimikyu who proceeded to dodge the streaks of jagged plasma. She was impressed with the creature's natural ability to fight. It seemed almost like it wanted to defeat her for the sake of its owner.
"See? He's pretty tough when it comes to a fight." Marnie stated to which Hervi shrugged to himself. "What? It's pretty obvious he wants to keep battling." Marnie added while she placed a hand on her chin.
There was an interest in this battle while her Morpeko battled his Mimikyu. Neither wanted to finish this battle, to expect the other to battle while they matched their wits against the other.
"Maybe, but he's normally like this," Hervi responded with a shrug. "He wants to battle someone as powerful as him. I don't know how to snap him out of it." Hervi added as he started to think to himself
"Mim? Hit her with another shadow ball." Hervi ordered while he sighed. "Also? He's always this stubborn when it comes to combat." Hervi added while he placed a hand on his head.
"And when he isn't?" Marnie questioned with a raised eyebrow. "He's pretty tough it seems," Marnie said while she started to fold her hands into her pockets.
He wasn't to bother himself with his plans when it came down to it. He hadn't honestly expected anything or anyone to get in his way. He had a lot to say at the end of the day.
"He's almost always that way if I'm honest." Marnie heard as Hervi seemed to plan to himself before he tapped his arms on his side. "Stubborn little guy. He grows on you if I'm honest. I don't honestly expect a win here. He's a real strong guy." Marnie stated while he nodded to himself before he prepared before he glanced at her once more.
He wasn't ready to do anything yet. This was his first few battles at the second before today ended. There wasn't anything to do or say as of now.
He wasn't honestly ready to handle a loss either. Yet he handled it the best he was able to. A loss was a loss and throwing a tantrum wasn't really to change that before this ended. He was all too familiar with what happened and glanced around before he rolled his eyes and stared at her for a moment.
Marnie blinked and seemed to stare into the distance. She recalled her Pokémon to her side a second later. She wasn't to handle this as of now.
"How about another deal?" Marnie questioned before she rolled her eyes at her friend. "Hmm," Marnie said before she looked around as she tilted her head, and questioned before she tilted her head to the side.
He rolled his head as he seemed to consider the option at the time. He probably wasn't going to win at all, and he didn't once consider the idea he might win against her when this ended. It had been a lot crazier when it came down to it. he was seemingly all too out of his league when it came down to it. he was not going to lie nor step up to face her, not yet at the very least.
"Ok, what did you have in mind?" Marnie heard as her potential partner seemed to brush off his clothes and glance around with amusement.
He motioned for her to continue, tossing his Pokeball up into the air over and over again with annoyance as he sighed and seemed to brush off his clothes and looked around at her. It had made him curious about what she was offering him. It could be a thousand different things and all of them were both terrifying and interesting.
"This isn't a fair fight," Marnie said while she put her hands in her pockets. "If we fight? I'll win. I don't want that; it won't be any fun or mean anything. If I'm going to travel and you come with me? How about we have a rematch… A real fight, one year after this?" Marnie asked with a raised eyebrow as he seemed to consider the idea.
Did she want to fight him again? Wanted to brawl with him once more. It had been a lot more interested in what was to come at the moment. He needed a minute, a second to properly put his thoughts into effect... it had become a lot odder when it came down to it.
It had been honestly curious when it came down to it. He wasn't going to be curious enough to pass up this chance. He was going to be curious. He was going to be honestly interested in how this path ended given enough time and effort.
"Are you sure?" Marnie heard from Hervi as he seemed to glance around with a hum. "If you're sure about it, I'm not going to be stupid enough to pass up a deal like that. It's a lot better than most of the stuff I'm getting when it comes down to it." Hervi stated as he seemed to glance around before rolling his eyes towards her.
It had become a lot odder the more he questioned it. If she was going, to be honest with her options? He'd not question how slim it was, the fact of the matter is very simple. If she was trusting him enough to have a rematch? He'd not once put it in doubt and give her a reason to hate this. He nodded at her and tucked his hands into his pockets while sighing and wiping off his temples and jacket from any dirt on it.
She had chosen something like this when it came down to it. She knew there was more on this than it was expected when he considered it. There was a lot he didn't entirely know, a lot he didn't expect on this path, and yet? He was entirely convinced.
"What is going to happen?" Hervi questioned before he tucked his hands into his pockets. "When the day comes? This isn't going to be a short trip unless you're planning to just head to the next city." Hervi asked before he raised an eyebrow towards her as of the second.
She shrugged as of the second. I was going to be interesting in what to do next. She wanted to see the world; she knew that they'd be ready for anything that came down to it. there was so much on the second. It had been hopeful about what to do next
Still? He had been focusing on what to do next. He had a lot more on the second.
"What is going to happen is we're going to train; you've barely had any training when it comes to Pokémon," Marnie stated before she tilted her head to the side and hummed.
She had been curious. This had been tilting her head to the side while she questioned what to do next. He was honestly going to be a strong trainer, she believed. This had been an eventful fight and she could tell that someone that they'd grow sooner or later.
he looked at his Mimikyu before he glanced his head towards the girl. He was going to become stronger which meant that sooner or later? They'd become a lot stronger with time and effort.
He tilted his head to the side. Marnie nodded before he slowly started to step into the side. The two trainers shared a look before he sighed and looked to the side.
"Thanks. I'll train harder to fight you." Hervi stated before he crossed his arms across his chest. "Are you 100% sure, though?" Hervi questioned before sighing.
"Would you like to lose here and deal with the fact that you're losing?" Marnie asked with a small smile.
"Fine, fine. I'm going to be curious about it." Hervi stated before holding his hands up. "I'm going to guess we're going to need stuff for the road?" Hervi questioned before he tapped his fingers on his side.
"Yeah," Marnie stated before she turned to her Morpeko. "I'll meet you back here in an hour?" Marnie questioned before she crossed her arms.
Hervi wiped his hands off and stared at the sky. It was going to be a lot harder for him to find this less insane. He put his hands in his pockets and patted his Pokémon on the head.
Oh, would this be a lot more questioning as of the time being? it had been a lot worse when it came down to it. he had a lot more to say and do next. He had been curious as of now. he questioned what to do next.
Hervi sighed before nodding at her. It wasn't like he wasn't happy to be traveling with a partner. No. He was just more terrified of not being able to function properly on the battlefield before now. He had so much more to say and do now. Anything else would be a problem despite his best efforts.
Still? There were far too many problems as of the time being. he questioned what to do next. The plans he had before now were far too little to really bother him or anyone else. There had been a lot more to say and do as of the time being. he questioned when there were more plans at the time.
He looked back at Marnie before running a hand through his hair and cracking his knuckles. He had been ready for whatever had been done and what to say and do next.
"Yeah, that will be fine. I'll just need some time to think about this. Are you going to be ok for the moment?" Hervi questioned before now.
He got a nod for the second before he questioned what to do at the time.
He had been a lot more interested in how this mission tilted. It'd be a VERY long day as of the time being… A very long day.
Author Notes
Phew. Another chapter is done! I want to point out that the next chapter will be delayed for the time being and will show both Hervi and Marnie starting their trip and such. The next chapter will be in 2-10 months and will show both Hervi and Marnie also at the first part of their trip. Until the 900–6500-word chapter at the moment. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
