Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of the Spartan and the Legionary. Enjoy the 2700-word chapter. I don't own RWBY or Halo. Monty Oum, Microsoft, 343, and Rooster Teeth do.

Leo jogged up the hill and was greeted with dozens and dozens of covenant soldiers engaging NOBLE. It was something that had to have been fixed upon.

NOBLE was NOT easy to kill… It was only a matter of time before the Covenant learned that the hard way. If anything? It amused the Spartan-IV to have seen the Covenant trying and failing to contain them.

Leo slid down the hill, Pyrrha following behind with Milo and Akuko grasped tightly in her hands before she questioned herself and had fallen silent. It was clear Spartans to her were a very different bread of soldiers.

They had more and more prepared for now. She had entirely dealt with these problems which meant more and more problems.

It was a lot more of an odd little thing to her that such things had gotten worse and worse.

It was clear such problems for now. All of them were going to have been prepared for the worst at the end of the day anyway. There was also a little more hill to go anyway.

(Yesterday)

Pyrrha sat on Leo's shoulders ago, looking up at the moon as he had, it was clear as day to her that he was trying to study for now. Pyrrha sighed and tapped her feet in the water as the Spartan under her standing in the water under her rose upwards.

"That moon is pretty weird, you know." Pyrrha heard Leo state as he hummed and then looked down at the water. "I've seen plenty of glassed planets, been to at least a few here or there… But a damn moon shattered like that? The power you'd need to do that is beyond insane." Leo said to which Pyrrha frowned and nodded.

She didn't at all understand what to do at the next second. It was all too much for her to understand for now. This planet hadn't at all been given even a sparing dimension of mercy.

"The moon has always been shattered into pieces like that," Pyrrha stated before she looked up. "I don't even know what to do next. The moon? The Covenant. This war will be coming to Vale sooner or later." Pyrrha stated before she sighed and continued to skin the water.

"We're stopping them, we're not going to stop until they back down at all…. Then the Covenant will be a memory and we might focus on killing the rest of the Grimm sooner or later." Leo stated before he sighed to himself.

It was clear she was speaking beyond certain things when it came down to it at the time. She didn't at all know what to question for the moment and she sighed.

"The Covenant doesn't have a weakness people can just exploit; you know. There are different species within them to have dealt with. I don't know what to do about the rest of them when we take down the elites." Leo stated before he shook his head.

It was not at all a lie. The Covenant would outlive the elites when they fell in combat. It was clear the war would not have ended so quickly… Not when it came down to it. Not with them all dreading it and trying to run from it. No… It'd be clear if anything that such problems weren't going to have been enough… And perhaps they'd not be enough anytime soon.

If anything? The idea of this war dragging on for so long was…. Sobering. Did it need to end, if not for them? For Remnant.

Leo stood to his full height as Pyrrha looked down from her perch on his shoulders. She was about to speak when Leo stepped forwards more or less. She felt the water go from his chest to his shoulders as she slowly dipped into the water. She knew she was shorter than him so Pyrrha wrapped an arm around him which made the Spartan blink as he gently held her arm which had only served to remind her that she had been far weaker or at least smaller than him.

It was all too much to question for the moment. It was a small and funny moment of clarity for the spartan as he was reminded that she was someone who matched him in physical traits but was falling behind when it came to height and such.

"You, ok?" Leo asked as he raised an eyebrow, not at all used to such an issue. "Sorry, I'm still not used to this all. Is this what usually happens when it comes down to it? Beach life and I don't seem to mix." Leo said to which Pyrrha had a moment of clarity.

It was clear to her that he was not at all used to this. The idea of being vulnerable so many years after a war? The idea probably felt as if he was naked, unkept entirely from what she had been used to.

"Are you going to be, ok?" Pyrrha asked to whom Leo had fallen utterly silent.

"Yes," Leo said to which she nodded and smiled. "Sorry, not so good at this relaxing thing… Is this right now? This I'll admit is nice, it's nice when you don't have to worry about being stabbed or constantly killed in battle, if you are a fan of that, I mean. I'm not exactly sure how well it's supposed to be when it comes down to it." Leo said before he looked at Pyrrha, silent, utterly baffled at the idea for now how to have done this and how to have properly handled it. it was honestly clear to her that such a thing had only served to have driven him to the edge of his insanity when it came down to it.

It was such an odd thing that he wanted to have screamed. It seemed he'd have done so if not for the fact that all of this had done little to have brought him peace… Perhaps he didn't see peace the same way. He was a soldier so war was as much a sweater to him as peace was a coat that he hadn't broken into yet.

Pyrrha glanced at him as if she was capable of understanding. She did understand and it did purely come out of nowhere for now. perhaps she did know and simply didn't wish to tell him, it wouldn't have surprised him for now, nor would it be a large deal like it should have hoped for.

Perhaps it was simply war and she didn't know it as well as he. she was a soldier, someone who had been at war for a long time and knew more and more that whatever was done next had to be done and would be done properly.

He crossed his arms as she leaped off his shoulders and into the water. She had wished to find some amusement in it, he simply did for good.

All of it was simply in good fun, however. It wasn't to be easy if anything. There was a lot more to handle as of now.

Leo still smirked at the fact he had managed to get one over on her. He knew it probably wouldn't have mattered much for now as they had more important pressing issues to deal with and he as a Spartan more than enough to try and push his luck upon such a thing.

Leo returned his glance to the moon as Pyrrha dangled her legs off the Spartan's shoulders. It only made him roll his eyes as he noticed just how tall she had been compared to him, their fight showed in their movements just how strong they were, and yet? Leo could not help but marvel at such a thing. It was tremendous, awe-inspiring, perhaps even something he could draw some sort of amusement on.

He'd laugh if not for the fact these trials seemed to keep coming on and on like a repeating record. It was just not going to stop them from their missions, something bigger than themselves, it'd almost make him laugh if not for the idea there was a lot more war to handle. He couldn't exactly blame her for not seeing it as she did. It was clear they were all fighting the same way it had to go. Even if everything went perfectly? There'd be problems, there was always a need for Spartans like them when push comes to shove.

There was a need to be worse, a lot worse, and always moving downwards and into the breach.

Pyrrha watched as Leo paused and turned to look around. It was clear if nothing else Leo liked the silence and the peace… But he was still a soldier and she respected that as well. It was clear he wasn't so much mad as conflicted, utterly thrown off, and vulnerable.

They were both warriors, and Pyrrha could respect the idea he kept his guard up most of the time. it was all too much and yet she had managed to be somewhere serene in the same measure, it'd not go unnoticed in her book as she could respect the idea behind it.

"You come up here often, Pyrrha, don't you?" Leo questioned to which she fell silent as he hummed. "It's nice. Real nice, I understand why you'd come here to get some fresh air. It's going to be a very war and you need your head in the game if you want to win… I don't even know how you plan to get through it all." Leo said before he sighed and then crossed his arms.

He was all amused and curious, curious in a manner that didn't at all put him at ease. He tapped Pyrrha's legs which made her laugh as she questioned just what was going on. She almost kicked him in the head which made him roll his eyes.

"I can drop us both in the ocean if you want, it'd be fun sooner or later if I did that," Leo said as he rolled his eyes before looking around and then looking all over the place.

It wasn't going to be something that they couldn't handle, it wasn't going to end the way they needed it to end. Wars rarely did the way they should have which meant it was always going to be up to him to end them the way it was supposed to.

This made his brain melt as the Spartan pondered how well it was going to go at the end of the day. The covenant felt more like a pet project than an enemy he had to contend with considered at the moment for now. This had to be considered for the time being as he clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth. All the power in the galaxy didn't appear to be enough for now and yet? Well, it'd all be going downhill sooner or later, all of it. There was a moment of silence and yet nothing at all appears to be enough.

Pyrrha felt cold water wash over him as he turned and looked around the room, too interested in what Leo would do next. A few seconds of silence heralded the duo as Leo hummed and closed his eyes.

Pyrrha took a deep breath through her nose before she finally started to look around before finally deciding to speak a few moments later, finding her voice a few moments later as she looked around and then decided to find her words next.

"I heard a god was the one who shattered the moon and centuries ago the wreckage rained down all over Remnant," Pyrrha stated to which Leo hummed and raised an eyebrow.

"A god? Hmm, sounds like a fancy fairy tale, Pyrrha." Leo responded before he rubbed at his neck.

Pyrrha kicked him in the side of his neck lightly, reminding him she was using him as a platform. The entire thing brought another silent chuckle to the boy as he rolled his eyes and simply decided to take another step into the water.

"No, wa…!" Pyrrha yelled before freezing cold salt water washed over her body.

Pyrrha brought her hands up to try and stem the tide of water over her and failed. Mainly because her bare arms held no such protection against the chest-high ocean water and since her body was not in danger from the temperature yet. Well, her aura held no such protection against the water. Pyrrha felt herself yelp in pure ignominy as the ocean's vapid waves ran over her bare stomach, legs, feet, back, and arms. Pyrrha almost scrambled to get off Leo's shoulders only to realize leaping from his frame would place her within the unforgiving depths of the watery hell she sought to find shelter in.

Leo whose head was slightly above water laughed as he looked up and into the sky once more time. Leo was all too amused and clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth. He leaned forwards and almost tossed her off and into the water.

"NO!" Pyrrha yelled, her voice entirely devoid of the grace and elegance of what had been placed upon her and she possessed for now.

Leo allowed himself a giggle as Pyrrha wrapped her arms and legs around his shoulders as if afraid the slightest slip into the water would be terrifying. It was a lot more worth a giggle as she tried and failed to kick him and almost lost her balance before collapsing into the pond. If it was up to her? Well, such an issue would not exist purely because she was so terrified.

Pyrrha regained her balance, abandoning her attack on Leo.

Leo was mirthful before the Spartan closed his eyes and took a few steps back, slowly starting to ponder what to do next.

Still? There was a lot more amusement to identify before it seemed to identify himself at the end of the day as he shook his head before now as he looked around. Leo was looking into the ocean for a moment before tilting his head and finally looking into the depths of the ocean.

Still? The idea more and more held more water before now as he looked around with such mirth that he clicked his fingers and slid his knife into his hand. If there was time for a war like now? Well, it was more than it seemed to be going on and on.

Perhaps the idea needed planning, perhaps it would need to be handled properly, and yet? Well, it was funny, this entire trip despite him never admitting it would be funny in his book as he turned to look around.

(Present time)

Honestly? It wasn't going to be easy for now when it came to him being used to these sorts of things, but it was something that he'd get used to it all, used to every single little thing and beyond. Perhaps it'd manage to get it all out of whack

Leo was all too much amused for now as he slid down the hill and looked at dozens of covenant soldiers engaging Noble Team, it'd probably be more impressive if not for the fact the rest of the military was swiftly finding themselves outmatched on every single level. It was odd to him on every single little level and he knew it. All of this was more than ever a problem and something he'd live with.

Leo seemed to find it more and more interesting as he slowly started to race into combat once more.

Then again? The idea of the Noble Team losing to a group of Covenant infantry was something that could be laughed about as the Spartan-IV rolled into cover before engaging.
