Makoto Naegi: Fleeing the Complex Chapter 2

Route: The Betrayed

Nicole thinks on it for a while and selects the one where Makoto calls the Legion of Doom and enters it.

"I hope I can reach them on the Airship" Makoto said dialing Lex's number.

On the L.O.D airship Lex was on the bridge piloting the airship; Black Manta was also there nearby. Kirigiri had called them about Makoto's abduction and while there was a search for him a lot of their attention was on their Top secret project

Lex was mainly focused on running the group like normal during Makoto's absence. He was relaxing till he heard his phone ring Lex pulls out and said "Hello, this is Lex Luther who is this?" he smiles relaxed

"Lex, it's me, it's Makoto" Makoto on the phone and Nicole rolls her eyes shaking her head.

"Makoto?!" Lex said surprised and in disbelief. Him saying that got Black Manta's surprise as he turns to Lex. Lex recovers he asked "Where are you? Kirigiri told us you were taken, and we had no luck locating you."

"I was taken by Lord Frieza's men and am locked in his complex the Stormcage." Makoto explained to him.

"A complex? Known as Stormcage? Oh yes Frieza, should have known" Lex said with a nod thinking "His brother is part of our organization so make sense he did this to make a power move against us."

"Yeah, I guess" Makoto said with a nod "Can you come and help me escape?"

"Oh, uh of course, of course we can Makoto" Lex said with a nod and motions Black Manta to let the crew know a change of course "We will be there just hang on where you are and we will let you know when we're close."

"Alright, thanks Lex" Makoto said as the phone hangs up and looks at Nicole and Brass "Lex and the airship be here soon."

"Oh, that is good to hear" Brass said with a smile

"I don't know, I really don't trust Lex Luther, he only made you the leader of the Legion of Doom to avoid being arrested" Nicole said thinking on it.

"But they will help us right" Brass asked hopeful looking adorable with the hopeful look.

Nicole blushed and sighs "Well there are some in the Legion that actually like Makoto, especially since he brought in Pizza Friday. So, there is a likely chance"

"Well, we just have to wait for the ship to get here" Makoto said with a nod

An Hour later

The three were sitting in waiting for an hour till the phone rings.

"About time" Nicole said relieved.

"Lex! You are here?" Makoto asked answering the phone.

"Yeah, we're just outside the building, we flew low enough not to be easily spotted" Lex said on the phone "But we need to know where you are, can you tell us?"

"Yeah, hang on" Makoto said and opens the door and peeks in and sees he was in a large cafeteria with several guards in Frieza force armour "I am in what looks to be a cafeteria"

"Oh, Cafeteria huh?" Lex said as he begins flying just as close as the airship can get "Cooler has provided us a map of complex here..." Lex then see the large window of the level to the cafeteria "Ah there you are, so how do you want to do this?"

"What do you suggest?" Nicole asked.

"Well, we have an agent undercover there that is in deep cover for three years to break out members Frieza captured, he could help you out, or could use a neurotoxin to disable all the guards or Bane upon hearing about rescuing you has assembled a team, and we can deploy them in a drill pod to provide cover for you" Lex explained thinking.

"One of those can help" Brass said, and Makoto thinks about what one to use

Neurotoxin

"Go for the Neurotoxin" Makoto said hopeing it would work.

"Okay, but be sure not to breath, it is a powerful one" Lex said and pushes a button.

The lower cannon of the Airship deploys and aims for the window and fires.

In the cafeteria a member named Dodoria was eating his lunch when suddenly a green grenade lands in his food "What the…?" he said.

The grenade suddenly unleashes a lot of green and covers the room and all in the room were like sick zombies and disoriented.

"Alright! It worked" Brass said her, and Nicole not effected for not being humans "C'mon Mako...ohhhhh"

The two-look seeing Makoto was also affected by the neurotoxin and groaning

"Oh, did they forget to hand your gasmask beforhand?" Lex said on the phone.

"Not funny Lex" Nicole said and resets it all.

Undercover Agent

"Get the undercover agent" Makoto whispered to Lex and looks around.

"Alright, he is aware of the situation and is there too, let's hope this works out" Lex said with a nod and gives the go ahead

In the cafeteria a soldier named Pui Pui looks around suspiciously and when he sees the group smiles and stands waving "Hey! Hey, Makoto, it's me!" He said smiling the group try to shush him, but it failed "I'm undercover! I'm here to break you out!"

This made the other guards stop and look at Pui Pui in surprise and the undercover agent stops and looks around and realizes what he just did.

"Hey there, escaping prisoners and Pui Pui is a traitor!" Long Feng said and the guards jump to grab them.

"Seriously" Brass said face palming.

"He spent three years undercover...such a waste" Nicole said shaking her and resets.

Drill Pod

"Send in the calvary" Makoto said serious, it would provide cover for him.

"Right, brace yourself" Lex said with a nod to them.

All was peaceful but then a Drill smashes through the window making a hole. Makoto and Brass duck and cover as they recover, they see Deadshot and Deviot were firing at the surprised Frieza force soldiers who scramble to deal with the attack.

Bane comes out and seeing Makoto yells out "Come on Makoto, let us go!"

"Coming!" Makoto said nodding and waits for a good opening and the two run to the Drill Pod

"Who is that?!" Deviot said pointing his arm blaster at Brass

"She's with us!" Makoto said to them, "She helped me break out."

"Very well, we will provide cover while you get to the airship" Bane said with a nod "I managed to pack you some things that could get you there."

"Oh, what are they?" Makoto asked.

Nicole looks and says "Well, there is a sick ride" She and Makoto smile knowing it "or a slingshot, or there is a magnet"

"Hmmmm" Makoto said thinking.

Magnet

Makoto holds the magnet "Is this one of them ACME magnets?"

"It might pulls us to the ship, no way it is powerful enough to pull the ship to us" Brass said with a smile

"Well, let's go" Nicole said seeing that more troops were running into the room.

Makoto holds out the magnet to the airship and what happens is the airship slams into the Stormcage surprising a lot of people

Nicole thinks and said "Well you see, because of entropy the...uh...Alright I can't BS my way through this one" she looks down and resets.

Slingshot

Makoto was in a slingshot and said, "Are you sure this is a good idea?"

"Of course, you will be fine" Bane said with a nod and places Brass on him and gives a thumbs up

"Good luck sir" Deviot said saluting.

The slingshot launches sending Brass and Makoto screaming and then slam into the side of the airship embedding them into the side

Nicole squints at that and said "This looks like a good place to keep a medal, through it would be one of those clicking ones" she then resets.

Sick Ride

Makoto rides out the drill pod on his scooter. "So glad this is good."

"Nice" Brass said and hops on and holds on tight.

Makoto dives to the end of the room and lines up to the wall. Bane and Deviot make a makeshift ramp for him.

"Oh no you don't!" Dodoria said changing at him.

"No!" Pui Pui said and tackles the large pink alien "Go Makoto!" He yells out.

Makoto nods and reves his scooter and dives it over the ramp and is launched into the air flying to the airship.

"We're not going to make it!" Brass said holding on.

"Makoto look!" Nicole said pointing to one of the ships side platforms (like from the Pure-Blooded Theif route)

"Hold on Brass" Makoto said and the bot nods.

Makoto jumps from the scooter and reaches for the railing but he was just short only for a hand to catch his and hold him there with Brass holding onto his leg

"Woah, that was a close one, wasn't it Makoto?" Lex said having been one to catch him,

"Oh Lex, thanks, pull me up and we can get out of here" Makoto said relieved

"Oh...I'm afraid that won't be the case" Lex said with an evil smirk "I'm not pulling you up."

"What?!" Brass said shocked

"You see it is simple, with you no longer around, I become the leader of the Legion of Doom again." Lex said with a smirk.

"I knew we couldn't trust you!" Nicole called out,

"Then why bother coming to save me! You could have ignored my call for help or alerted the guards!" Makoto said in pure shock,

"Oh...that is quite easy to answer" Lex said and looks sinisterly that he could pass for Scar in the Lion King "I just wanted to look you in the eyes as I took it all back. Goodbye Makoto, I will be sure to tell Kirigiri you were killed in the crossfire in the rescue. It's been a pleasure."

And with that Lex lets go of Makoto's hand and everything went in slow motion as Makoto and Brass fall screaming to the ocean below while Lex watches smirking.

Lex then enters back into the ship with several of the gathered members of the Legion and Lex 'sadly' said "I'm afraid...He didn't make it he fell to the ocean below."

"Well, I will mount an ocean rescue!" Black Manta said with a nod.

"No, the height of the fall chances are he is dead and I think saw a stray bullet hit him. I suggest we pull a retreat and resume operation Space-station of Doom" Lex said.

The members sigh and nod and head out while Lex smirks, it will take a while but anyone who is loyal to Makoto will either forget about him or be taken care of.

He was back on top nothing was going to get in his way again.

Well that was as close to a bad ending as one can get, next time we will see what happens if we call the Republic instead.
