Another day, another wake up with a yawn and stretch as I got up and-
Thunk!
Ouch!
My foot hit one of my hauls from the other day. A large crate, high tech and passcode locked. Right… I was gonna open this today.
"Alright…so besides my foot being in pain…time to actually open this stupid thing…" I muttered, trying to unlock the thing with the passcodes my slayer friend gave me.
I put in the code and I side was… a… a sword grip? Just the grip? Okay?
"Oh please let this be what I think it is…" I muttered in a growing sense of giddiness, my inner collector of swords coming back after so long as I grabbed the hilt and held it to see if this was what I thought it was.
It didn't seem to have any unique markings on it… okay, how do I…?
"Slayer Crucible Blade detected." Vega 5 said. "Weapon is unavailable to you."
"Excuse me, why?" I asked, wanting to know why I can't use an extremely cool weapon that I've been trying to collect for years now.
"Slayer Crucibles can only be welded by official members of the Slayers Guild."
"Boo." I frowned. "So…I guess I'll just have to wait till Carver get's here to maybe allow me to be apart of the Slayers Guild…"
I put the crucible in my assistant then got ready and went to the kitchen. Casey was already up and making breakfast for Dexter, and Hex was sitting in his high chair. Now that he's moving to solids, we're having him try different soft foods.
"Hello." I said with a warm smile, moving over and ruffling up Dexter's hair and giving Hex a quick peck on her forehead…sometimes it amazes me how I'm a mother/father after so many years.
"Morning hun." Casey said, giving Dexter a plate of eggs and hash browns and gave me a quick kiss. "Nanny is in the nursery right now. Jenny is already at her post."
"That's good." I nodded. "So, one of the box's had a Crucible Blade in it…and I'm not allowed to use it until I join the Slayers Guild." I brought up.
"You think they'll let you join?"
"I mean…maybe?" I said honestly. "In this place they would probably need as many people as possible, and while I'm probably not as strong as them, I do have experience."
"Guess we'll find out at some point. So, any plans for today?"
"Well, just the usual, going out and exploring, fighting monsters, gathering and the like." I said honestly.
"Alright. All we need here is the usual. Diapers, some more soft baby food if possible."
"Alright, so off to a store." I said readily. "Should have restocked by now, so I'll be back soon."
"Stay safe."
"I will." I said, moving over and giving Casey a quick peck on the cheek before heading off to do a quick shopping run.
Once outside and out of the barrier I pulled out my own ride. It was the yellow Tron Light Cycle. Moved fast, and felt amazing to ride. I paid fifty grand for this baby years ago.
"Don't really get to take you out for a ride before, but your going to be a good friend right now." I said with a smile, getting onto the light cycle and putting on my helmet. "Fifty grand well spent."
I ride through the roads and past the demons til I arrived at a mall. It had a Babies R Us so, good place for all the necessities.
"Alright, let's see if there's anything weirdly new here." I said, bringing out Ol'Reliable and heading into the baby store.
I was greeted by Imps and Pinkies. I hacked them all rapidly then made my way to the infant store. Toys, yes, formula, not really needed cause Nanny but also yes, ah, diaper-
"Graaaaaaaaw!"
The whole building shook with whatever the hell made that roar.
"Oh what the fuck…" I muttered, trying to grab as much as I could before whatever the fuck suddenly wanted to attack me got to me.
As I was grabbing more things the ground shook again, making me fall to my ass as suddenly the store in front of me collapsed. When the dust and debris cleared I was staring at a pale pinkish red wall… it then moved up… that was…
The crater before be was a giant footprint… that was… a titian demon… that fucker is HUGE!
"Oh no…" I muttered in horror, cause while I have fought a Titan before, pesky bastards, I…never fought a Titan Demon and I'm pretty sure this was a lot stronger than the either feral Titans or children Titans…
I ran out from the mostly destroyed mall and looked at it… it was armored in some technological armor and carried a glowing energy axe- Oh Fuck it's heading towards home!
"Oh no you don't!" I snapped. "Ground Dasher!" I shouted as I slammed Ol'Reliable into the ground, the ground around the titan cracking open as rock's and spikes started to fly towards the bastard with insane speed.
They slammed into their skin… and crumbled and fell… Fuck…
"Damn it…" I growled. "Hey ugly!" I shouted, trying to get it's attention away from heading to my house.
It didn't even notice me or my attack. Damn it, I need to contact Nanny now-
"Hi." I paused, looking around then down as I spotted a… griffon. Purple feathers wearing some fancy jumpsuit.
"Hi." I said quickly, grabbing the sudden griffon holding her under my arm as I tried to contact Nanny. "Come on, please pick up…" I muttered worriedly as I ran around and tried doing more attacks to try and at least slow it down.
"Can you let me go? Also, where did you come from?"
"Not at the moment, cause right now you're in a very hostile place, and two, the better question is where did you come from? You weren't here a second ago and now you're here." I answered quickly, trying to contact Nanny again and hoping it would get through this time.
"I've been here for two months." She said. "And I'm aware of the dangers. It's big ugly there that came out of nowhere."
"Okay, so I have absolutely no idea how the hell you've survived this long by yourself, but I've been here for close to a year now, and yeah I don't know why the hell this Demon Titan showed up out of nowhere." I said, now just confused as to how she's been surviving this entire time and having no idea how we missed her.
"If you'd let me go I can probably deal with it." That actually made me stop.
"Fine." I said, putting down the griffon. "Have at it." I said, cause if I magically see this out of nowhere girl stop a demon titan by herself I will be extremely pissed.
The griffoness shook herself a bit, stretched her wings, then pulled out a strange handgun from… well, that's not an assistant… her jumpsuit? The handgun held a single bullet and the bullet looked silver. She slid it into the barrel and aimed it at the-
Ka-booooooom!
Everything was light. My ears are deaf and I got blasted back the whole distance I ran and rolled into the crater footprint the titans left behind.
When it all faded and my ears were ringing I crawled out and… all that was left was it's feet…
The purple griffoness put the gun away and shrugged.
"Excuse you, what the fuck was that?" I asked, not knowing any random ass gun that could do that. "I am also super fucking pissed here…" I mentally growled, as I have spent 200 years fighting, and a year in this hell hole, and she just up and one shot's a fucking Demon Titan?
"Trottenheimer's Folly. It's a replica actually. Was a gift." She replied. "Welp, bye." The griffon said, walking off now.
"Hold the fuck up." I shook my head. "First, you're not going back out there, my place is a safe zone from all this bullshit." I said carefully. "And two…how the hell did you get that weapon even as a replica?"
"Tony." She replied, side stepping me and continued back down the road.
"Who the hell's Tony?" I asked.
"An AI from back home." She said, heading towards a small dirt road that was partly hidden by the trees.
"And where is 'back home' for you?" I inquired.
"Not this dimension." She replied as I followed her down the dirt road.
"Oh, so you're an Isekai?" I inquired. "That's…you shouldn't have appeared here, all Isekai's should have woken up in a Church of the Mother."
"Don't know what that is or means." She replied. Soon we were at a small concrete doorway, a large metal door she turned the handle and pulled open to, revealing an unlit stairway down.
"Where did you find this?" I inquired, feeling like I'm missing a lot of bullshit right now.
"I woke up here." She said, the stairway ending at another door. This one more modern and fortified. It slid open.
"Welcome back Plory." An AI voice spoke.
Inside was far more clean and well kept. The tech here looked on par with what I'm used to.
"This facility appears to have once been an Era One slayer base. The AI currently running the facility appears to be foreign to the guild but is on par with my own abilities." Vega 5 informed.
"Okay…I am so confused…" I shook my head. "Sorry, names…my name is Heather, I presume your name is Plory?"
"Yes." The griffoness stated as she walked up to a hovering tank of sorts where two large eggs sat floating within.
"Did you just lay those or did you…bring them with?" I asked, now extra confused as to what the hell was going on cause what I've learned about Isekai's…this ain't what I read up.
"I remember… I was in my office, it was on a ship called the Eternity. I was reading through data then… it was like the room began getting flooded with these ones and zeroes I just… grabbed the incubator and held on as tight as I could… when I woke up here they were still in there and in my arms."
"Well…that's new." I said carefully. "So what was this Eternity ship like?"
"Ancient. Was part of an archeology team that discovered it. Turns out the captains were still alive and they were keeping their brother prisoner. He escaped and after stuff happened I became a member and helped rebuild the crew. It's how I met/accidentally made my husband Grunk and our kids here. The ship has a single goal. The preservation of all life in the universe and it's cultures if any."
"Huh…sounds familiar…" I frowned, not sure why that sounds familiar but shook it off. "So, sounds like you were in a lot of crazy shit before ending up on this hellhole of a planet."
"Yeah. I tried to use my dimensional Wayfinder to get back home… that didn't work." She said, reaching into her pocket and tossing a broken looking star shaped keychain.
"Wait…where the fuck did you find a Keyblade Wayfinder?" I asked in honest surprise.
"What's a Keyblade? Whatever that is, this isn't that. This sent me to a parallel dimension for some hours before bringing me back. Thought I could use it to get home but once it turned on it broke."
"Well, that's because…technically, your now in 'Reality'." I answered. "There is no more 'separate dimensions' technically, it's all just one big universe."
"If that's true then explain how I got here and where I came from."
… Uh… um…
"Ya see…I brought this up with someone that know's better, and this is one of those scenarios, where I personally don't know why this happened or how it happens, it just happens…" I sighed, rubbing my temples.
"Then my being here means there are other dimensions still right?"
… Ugh, why do I open my mouth…
I rubbed my temples. "I said 'technically'." I stated bluntly.
"Well 'technically' doesn't explain why I'm here or how I can get back home to my family."
"The only people that would know about that would be the Time Walkers and The Family, both groups are practically on the other end of Existence at this point." I said honestly. "Cause you are currently on Armageddon, a planet which every end of the world scenario is mashed together cause why not."
"I noticed. So, are you in the same boat as me?"
"Well, I was kidnapped with my family and put here by 'Immigration', a new subsection of Chaos Guilds, completely unsanctioned Guild that is the epitome of Evil."
"But you're native to this reality?"
"I am native to this reality yes, I was on the planet Dechamore, pretty far from a new town called Candlelight." I explained. "And that planet is probably billions of light years away."
"And you can't just leave this one and go back?"
"Nope, cause even though our ship is big enough, it's not fast enough, and we'd have to dodge the 'Welcoming Committee', which is shorthand for the Chaos Guilds bombing literally anything that comes even remotely close to Armageddon's orbit.
"Yeesh. Guess we have that in common at least. I owe my survival here to Amanda." Plory motioned to the base. Amanda must be the AI running it.
"Yeah, that sounds about right…though I'm surprised Amanda could work with first era tech." I said honestly.
"The systems in place here are similar to Eternity tech, if a little out of date." Amanda stated.
"Little out of date…well, I suppose that was like…many centillion years ago…"
"So, why are you still here?" Plory asked me.
"Cause I tried to bring up before that my place is a lot safer, being a complete safe zone from any monster attacks." I said honestly. "Two, to get to know you more cause we never knew that Isekai's can just…be put down wherever."
"This base is safe."
"I mean, if you say so." I said, not sure if this place is actually safe but knowing that Nanny's Safe Zone spell was a lot more safer than just hiding in a bunker.
"Is there something you want?"
"I suppose a partnership would at least be beneficial for the both of us." I said honestly.
"And I can offer you… what?"
"Well, it looks like you can probably offer us weapons and tech from this bunker here." I motioned to the entire place. "And we can give you some fresh food and water from our farm and safe zone."
"Bunker has a food cloner. An air to water filter, but as far as weapons the only ones here are in my suit storage and are built into the bunker."
"And I am in full control of the later." Amanda spoke up.
"Ah…that's fair…" I sighed, not really sure how in the wide world of hell she managed to survive in this demon infested place for two months by themselves and an ai without literally any of us noticing. "So my best question is, how the hell have you been here for two months by yourself and nobody noticed?"
"Like I said, I woke up in here. Amanda inserted herself into the systems, got everything back up and running and I mostly went out at night to the mall there. Mostly for compatible parts and raw bio fuel for the food cloner. When I learned demon meat works just as well I hunted a few and threw them in the tank."
"I suppose that works." I nodded.
"So, where do you live?"
"I live about maybe half an hour away by motorcycle." I said honestly.
"What's a motorcycle?"
"Well, I have a light cycle but I'll show you." I said, moving to a spot that was spacious enough and bringing out my baby.
"Looks weird."
"How?" I asked.
"Well, I'm primarily a quadruped so, I'm not too sure how you'd even ride in it."
Oh… huh. Fair point.
"Well, sure, most types of these kinds of vehicles are meant for bi-peds like myself," I said while getting onto the bike. "But there are some designed for quadruped, but these go really fast and can help travel around when you normally can't."
"I can fly…"
"How fast can you fly?" I inquired.
"At a mile and a half up… a mile a minute."
"Alright, so I know I can run faster than that." I said honestly. "But this goes a hundred and forty four miles per hour without any fancy mods tacked onto it."
"Okay?"
Hm… alright, there has to be something I can do to convince her to come to the safe zone…
"So as a fellow mother, do you really want your children to know nothing more than a bunker?" I asked. "With my place, there's ten miles of forest, mountains, and fresh open air without the threat of demon's knocking on your door." I explained.
"Wouldn't a ten mile wide safe zone be a target for these Chaos Guilds you mentioned? At least the bunker here is hidden and remote."
"Thankfully no, cause not only is the one that created the barrier a member of the Mother's Daughters, one of the three strongest guilds in existence, and this place is also under the protection of the Slayers Guild…" I explained, as I truly hoped that what I was saying was well and truly correct.
"And… what's all that means?"
Right… She's new to… all this…
"So…can I get a white board or something? It's gonna be a long talk." I said, ready to basically do a powerpoint presentation to explain a lot of this shit.
I spent the next three hours giving Plory a basic bare bones history lesson on my home reality and the important events. Including the guild system that majority of reality runs off of and other stuff.
"Alright I think that made sense." Plory stated.
"Anything that was confusing?" I inquired.
"A few things but I get the general idea. So, long story short you're basically god-like powers baby mamma set up a special physical and magic barrier to keep monsters out and from appearing inside the area." I blushed a bit at having Nanny being referred to as my Baby Mamma, but nodded. "I guess that is better for my kids, I'd still like to keep this bunker though."
"The bunker is going to be very important for everyone here, don't worry we're not getting rid of the bunker." I said honestly.
"Cool. So what will I be doing at this settlement of yours? Doubt you need a beginner archeologist or a field technician."
"Well, being an Archeologist can help us search for things that normally we'd look over, but what else can you do besides those things?" I inquired.
"My giant monster killing gun and Amanda." Plory stated.
"Both can help immensely." I said readily. "But we'll figure things out more back home."
"Alright." Plory said, grabbing a sports bag with some stuff in it and then grabbing the high tech egg incubator. "Amanda, put the bunker into standby mode, keep defense systems active."
"Request acknowledged." The Amanda AI said as Plory and I left the bunker. Lights dimmed leaving only some basic back up ones going and once we were out the doors closed and locked behind us.
We went back to my home where Plory took a look around. "Huh. Kinda reminds me of the NCR back home. Back in the early reconstruction days."
"NCR?" I inquired, finding that term weirdly familiar.
"New Canterlot Republic. Long story short my world has it's first ever war in a thousand or more years, both sides took it too far, and the world burned in necromantic atomic bombs and hell fire. NCR was the government running the majority of the rebuild Equestria."
"Oh yeah, that's why it felt familiar, Fallout Equestria right? Well…I suppose things were going well enough even though an immortal captain if an Eternity ship escaped." I said honestly.
"... Say that again? Fallout Equestria?"
Oh… oh… oh… oh I am not prepared to-
"So this reality experiences the Bleed Effect too?" Plory asked.
The what?
"Uh…no? See, this Reality is 'everything exists', from the mundane to the extreme." I said. "Every possibility exists, every world, every combination, all real and all possible."
"Like the multiverse only not divided." Plory nodded. "Back home I learned of a thing called the Bleed Effect where different realities bleed information in the form of ideas, dreams and or concepts. Was a whole book series based on my home reality I found out. As well as a universe where the war never happened that I'm still sour about."
"Eh, it happens." I shrugged.
"Says the girl not from a world that destroyed itself over rocks and religion."
"I've seen and heard worse " I said readily. "And that sounds like partly what the Puritans do…racist pricks…"
"Somehow it's upsetting a reality like yours still has racists yet somehow I'm not surprised."
"While there is a song called 'Everyones a Little bit Racist', they take it to an extreme." I sighed.
"Okay? So, where am I gonna be set up?"
"We have a spare bedroom till we can start making you your own place." I said honestly.
"I guess." She shrugged as I led her to my house. I left her in her spare bedroom and then sat in the couch where Casey was reading a book.
"So, you found someone?" Casey asked.
"Yeah, apparently she's an Isekai that's been here for two months…somehow." I said nervously. "Like, she was brought into a Slayer Bunker and has been sneaking around…"
"Sounds like a resourceful person."
"From what she told me, she's from Fallout Equestria, and apparently was recruited into some Eternal Research Vessel kind of scenario." I said honestly. "Which explains her resourcefulness and the fact she has an AI, but it still doesn't explain how she was Isekai'd here…"
"Isn't that one of the biggest mysteries in creation? How the Isekai get here at all?"
"True, but I always thought they were transported to a Church of the Mother…" I said carefully.
"It is not unheard of for one of them to arrive here." Nanny said as she came into the room from the kitchen, whisking into a bowl. "The method that brings them here is unknown but what is known is that once they are in this reality they appear on the world via the same means one would expect a respawn to work. Since they have no prior respawn point the Church of the Mother acts like a magnet for them. But in the case of Armageddon, having no churches or safe zones and random respawn locations, they can appear anywhere and everywhere a bed is present."
"Well…that sounds about right." I said carefully.
"How rare is it that an Isikai appears here?" Casey asked.
"I believe it was the same odds for any other planet." Nanny informed.
Well that sucks… that means hundreds of thousands of people appear on this hell hole daily and just… have no idea how bad it's gonna be.
"Well…that's not good at all." I said honestly.
"It's not." Nanny shook her head. "But there's nothing we can really do."
"Can't you make a church?" Casey asked. "You made this place a safe zone."
"Afraid not. The source of the Churches ability to draw in the spawning in Isekai is in the Statue of the Mother present in the main lobby. And those are given to the Mothers Daughters directly from The Family, which I have no means to reach through guild connections because of this planet and the jamming barrier around it."
"Crap…" I sighed. "Is there anyway to get past the jamming barrier or is it impossible?"
"Well, whatever it is I do know it's not natural. It's a lot like the barrier I cast over our home here, but whoever cast it is even stronger than me to cast it over the entire planet."
"Yeah…really hate how we still barely know a lot of important things…" I sighed.
"It's not like we'll meet anyone who knows anything more than that." Casey sighed.
"Who knows, maybe we might be able to…but thing's just keep getting weirder and weirder."
