Chapter 02: A New Type of Explosion for this Loli Terrorist!

Giant Toads.

Whenever their mating season arrived, they showed up in areas with lots of ideal prey for nutrition in order to gather up energy for the preparation to lay their eggs.

By the way, 'nutrition' for a Giant Toad was essentially 'any unfortunate creature small enough to fit in it's mouth'. Common victims were goats, cattle and of course, people as well.

Of course, human beings weren't the type to take that shit lying down, so after some time, it was discovered that their meat was a somewhat tough but light delicacy, which in turn spurred their hunts to a new high.

If not for the food shortage problems caused by the Demon King's advent, the one who had discovered the delicacy (either by being crazy or desperate enough to cook and eat a toad) would've probably been shunned and ostracized for the rest of his life.

Of course, there was a food shortage, so of course, that guy was regarded as a goddamned hero and immortalized in the royal records.

Wait, this was getting off track.

We must focus on the Giant Toad currently chasing down Aqua while she kept screaming hysterically.

*SLNAP!*

"EEEEEEK!"

"Aqua! How could you get eaten?!" Kazuma Satou roared as he palmed his forehead in annoyance, standing with three defeated Giant Toads behind him. Unlike the useless goddess, his Devil Fruit had been useful in cutting the monsters open in an instant, causing Aqua to proclaim that she would finish up the remaining two required.

Now, Kazuma was glaring heatedly at the Giant Toad, or rather, the twitching legs hanging off its mouth. Releasing a small growl, Kazuma gathered wind into a sharpened disc-like shape before hurling the invisible attack.

There was some satisfaction in seeing Aqua screaming as she was spat out by the Giant Toad, which began to lurch and writhe about with a fatal gash in it's back before finally falling down and dying.

"Ugh, ugh—wah…!" Aqua was covered in sticky toad saliva before him, hugging her knees while sitting on the ground sobbing. "Ugh… Sob… Thank you, Kazuma! Thank you! Wahhhhhhhhh….!"

Kazuma winced and fought the urge to retch as she suddenly hugged his legs. 'She reeks!'

It was only the realization that even a goddess couldn't stand the vivid terror of actually being eaten that compelled Kazuma to gingerly pat her head and not kick her away. "There, there. The monster's dead now..."

Aqua sobbed even further, pressing her face into his clothes, causing Kazuma to grimace further. 'With no washing machines here, I'll have to put extra effort into washing these... Wait, maybe there's someone I can hire to do it instead...'

"Look, Aqua." Kazuma pulled her off him. "If you can't handle this anymore, just go back. I can finish up by myself."

"I'm all dirty now..." Aqua stood up with the glossy fluid squelching from her movements. "If the followers of the Axis Cult, my dear worshippers, saw me with such a sullied appearance, I'll lose their devotion! How could the stunning Aqua-sama retreat from a frog of all things?!"

"Three points." Kazuma pointed out with three outstretched fingers for emphasis. "First off, that's a toad. Second off, the toad in question is big enough to swallow us whole. Third off, nobody back in the city has actually acknowledged you to be a goddess, let alone the Goddess of Water."

"Counterpoint!" Aqua pointed her finger at Kazuma's face. "First off, despite the name, that is definitely the appearance of an oversized frog, not toad! Second off, I am the Goddess of Life! Not just water! The element just falls under my domain because of the scientific belief that all biological life originated from it!"

Kazuma blinked. "Okay... I guess that's why the Archpriest class fitted you best instead of Archwizard..."

"And third off... I refuse to let the stupid frogs go unpunished!" Sighting a freshly arrived Giant Toad, Aqua disengaged and burst into a run towards it.

"Ah! Hey, Aqua!"

Aqua ignored Kazuma's warnings, drawing closer to the toad and cocking her fist. "Feel the power of the gods! Regret that you ever got in my way and repent in the flaming pits of the underworld!"

"[God Blow!]"

Kazuma's eyes widened as water swirled into existence and gathered around the goddess's fist before glowing golden with divine power.

However, just as the fist struck uselessly against the Giant Toad's belly, Kazuma was reminded of a fact he'd learned from researching the monster's strengths and weaknesses.

Giant Toads were immune to blunt or water-based attacks.

Aqua had just used an attack that utilized both.

Had the presence of divine energy in it done anything to affect the Giant Toad?

*Chomp!*

"EEEK!"

"Dammit, Aqua!"

"I get it. Just us two isn't enough. Let's recruit more members!"

Aqua declared later as the duo returned to the town, with Kazuma mostly concentrating on the load he was carrying, creating a platform construct composed entirely of compressed air which was levitated and linked to his hand as he followed Aqua.

"I'm already strong enough to deal with the monsters." Kazuma said as he handed over the meat to the guild and received full payment. "Do we really need more members in our Party?"

"Heh! I'll explain after we clean up and get a meal!" Aqua crossed her arms, smirking in a way that looked like she knew the punchline to a joke that Kazuma didn't get. "I'm still dirty and starving!"

After they were done, the first thing they did was head to the bathhouse to wash up. Then they went back to the Adventurer's Guild to drink booze and eat a nice meal.

Apart from being a meeting place and pseudo bar/restaurant for Adventurers, the Adventurer's Guild also doubled as a sort of shop. It allowed Adventurers to sell the monsters they hunted and retrieved, and tasty monsters were also a selling point.

Again, desperate situations like food shortage could really push people into weird solutions, but at least the Giant Toad meat was really delicious.

Somehow...

"Back on the comrade issue..." Kazuma started as soon as he finished his meal, with Aqua still eating opposite him. "Do you think we can actually attract worthwhile candidates? While we're both powerful despite our Classes, we're still novices without even any weapons. What would make anyone approach us after only two days here?"

"Charisma!" Aqua took a long swig of booze. "Kazuma, we're both novices who took down five frog monsters-"

"I took them down. You just got eaten twice."

"-and this town is full of beginners." Aqua finished with a flourish. "Ergo, people will soon eat that stuff up as long as we keep winning at stuff!"

"...a nice argument." Kazuma begrudgingly allowed. "However, I want something while we're on that. For every time I have to save you, I get to grope you however I want afterwards."

Ah, there's the perverted scoundrel aspect that he'd been missing all day.

"..."

"...fine." Aqua shrugged and bit into another toad meat leg. "It's not like you didn't already molest me in your sleep."

"I did what?" Kazuma frowned in surprise. "Why didn't you tell me or say something?"

Aqua proceeded to swallow too much at that moment, grateful for the resultant choking that caused Kazuma to switch priorities.

And with that, two weeks passed with zero incident.

Just like Aqua had told him, Axil was the furthest settlement from the Demon King's castle. It definitely showed in how not even children feared running about in the night. When Kazuma had wondered about criminals like thieves and the like, Aqua had promptly pointed out how suicidal it was to be a normal bandit in a town jampacked with Adventurers.

'So that's why all the bandit Quests all refer to outside Axel.'

At least Aqua kept good on her promise to let him maul her breasts whenever he wanted, which Kazuma still considered to be the best ever decision he'd ever taken in his life. It didn't matter if a bitch was attached to them, for boobs were still boobs.

And just like Aqua predicted, they were soon approached by their first potential member. Considering the haughty attitude Aqua later took, Kazuma swore to never admit her to ever be right at anything to her face.

"Are you Kazuma Satou-dono?"

"Yes, Kazuma here." He replied automatically, turning around to see who had approached him so early in the guild, especially as Aqua had decided to sleep in that day.

She was a girl in a classical witch attire, with a black cloak, red dress, dark boots, pointy hat, and magic staff, but with the added fact of bandages in her left leg instead of the thigh-high black socks on the right leg. Kazuma idly noted her disheveled brownish black hair and the mild exhaustion in the crimson eye which wasn't covered by an eyepatch.

So obviously, he'd already mentally classified her as loli witch.

"I am Megumin of the Crimson Demon Clan!" She swung back her cape dramatically and made a pose. "My Calling is that of an Archwizard, one who controls explosion magic, the strongest of all offensive magic!"

"…excuse me?"

"Do you, too, desire my forbidden power, which is so almighty that I've been cast aside by the entire world?"

"...no. It can't be." Kazuma's eyes widened in shock and rising mortification. "You can't possibly exist in a real fantasy world!"

"Indeed, I exist and I am here!" Megumin declared, misinterpreting Kazuma's words. "Rejoice, Kazuma Satou-dono, for together, we shall-"

*GROWL*

With that, the clearly chuunibyou attitude faded away, leaving behind a clearly embarrassed and hungry girl.

Kazuma frowned. "When was the last time you ate?"

"I haven't eaten anything in three days." Megumin replied, instantly prompting Kazuma to carry and place her next to him, shifting the rest of his breakfast to her.

Giving a grateful smile, Megumin instantly attacked the food, her hunger very apparent as she didn't seem to choke at all from how fast she was eating.

"By the way, is something wrong with your eye?" Kazuma looked at the eyepatch over her left eye. "My partner can probably fix it up for you if I ask her, since healing is her strongest skill."

"Hmmph… this is a MAGIC ITEM to restrain my overwhelming power." Megumin theatrically revealed to him. "If you pull it off, a huge disaster will befall the world."

Kazuma's eyes widened. Despite her chuuni attitude, this was still a fantasy world, which meant that Megumin was most likely right. "So, it's some kind of seal? Is it connected to some great monster or the like?"

"Well, that's actually a lie." Megumin casually revealed. "I just wear it for the coolness."

"I see." Kazuma casually replied, grabbing the eyepatch and pulling back to snap it against her totally normal left eye.

"I'm sorry! Please don't pull on it! Stop... Stop it! Actually, it'll hurt if you just let go, so please just slowly put it back where it was-"

"No."

*SNAP!*

"GYAAAAAA! My eye!"

"Sorry, I thought you were teasing me after I graciously gave you my breakfast without asking anything in response." Kazuma sighed as he ordered for more food. "I want to make one thing clear before I allow you into my Party."

Megumin nodded, already stuffing her face again the moment the waitress placed her plate before her.

"As the Party Leader of {Phantasmal}... I get total rights to sexually molest you however I want." Kazuma bluntly stated, enjoying her stunned look as she nearly spat out the contents of her mouth. "My Party consists of an Archpriest and I'm still more powerful than her. If you want to join my Party, you'll have to be subjected to my sexual whims just like Aqua is."

"Are you a scumbag?" Megumin bluntly asked.

"At least I'm being upfront about it." Kazuma bluntly replied. "Even if you say no, I won't make you pay for the meal so you don't need to worry. What's your answer?"

"J-Just who the hell do you think I am?" Megumin put her fists against her hips. "I am Megumin the Archwizard! Antics of the carnal nature are of no importance to a mature woman such as I. In fact, it should be a daily routine to a powerful and dangerous woman such as I."

Kazuma blinked at the clear lie and resisted the urge to smirk. "Oh?"

Whether the girl actually wanted to see what sex was all about or was rather desperate to join a Party didn't matter anymore. As far as Kazuma was concerned, this loli was his.

"Finish up, Megumin. I'll need to take you for a trial run."

"{Explosion} is the strongest offensive spell." Megumin explained as Kazuma brought her to the field which still had some Giant Toads hiding around. "On the other hand, it requires a long casting time. Please keep that monster at bay until my preparations are complete."

"No problem." Kazuma eyed the Giant Toad just as it started to hop towards them, only to notice something else. "And there's another one. Megumin, focus on the faraway one. I'll deal with the closer one."

"Understood."

With that said, Kazuma charged towards the white and purple Giant Toad and promptly punched forward, releasing a blast of spiraling and compressed air that blew the monster off it's front and into the air.

Not giving it the chance to land, Kazuma used his powers to blast himself after it. Causing air to swirl around his leg and drastically increase it's pressure, Kazuma roared as he kicked the monster in it's side, causing it to shoot towards the purple Giant Toad that had started to make it's way towards Megumin. "Do it now and blast them both, Megumin!"

Wind kicked up before surging towards Megumin as her staff started to gather dark energy into it's orb.

"Darker than black, darker than darkness, combine with my intense crimson. Time to wake up, descend to these borders and appear as an intangible distortion!"

The dark energy was now starting to swirl above the stunned Giant Toads, who could now sense the impeding danger and were trying to untangle their limbs from each other.

"Dance, dance, dance! May a destructive force flood my torrent of power, a destructive force like no other! Send all creation to its source! Come out of your abyss! Humanity knows no other more powerful offensive technique! It is the ultimate magical attack!"

Rainbow sparkles blazed into existence within the dark energy as several burning glyphs appeared above the Giant Toads.

"[EXPLOSION!]"

From Kazuma's perspective, the world darkened and roared as it went up in flames. Then the fiery shockwave hit, prompting him to seriously use his Logia defense for the first time ever as he was blasted off his feet.

"Wow..." Kazuma muttered as his body reformed from the smoky air, staring at the smoldering crater in awe. There weren't even any pieces of the two monsters left. "Amazing! She's a walking missile launcher..."

A green Giant Toad climbed out slowly from underground, probably woken up by the shockwave and sound of the explosion.

'Another one?' Kazuma instantly noticed it's closeness to his new Archwizard. "Megumin! Let's retreat for now and attack from a distance…"

Kazuma looked over at Megumin at this point. And his body went stiff. Because for some reason, Megumin was now lying face down on the ground.

"Hmph… {Explosion} is my ultimate spell. It is powerful but uses a lot of mana. Simply put, the mana I used exceeded my limit, so I can't move. Ah, to think another toad would appear out of nowhere. No good, I going to get eaten. Sorry, please save me…Kazuma..."

A sharp disc of wind split the Giant Toad in half just as it nearly reached Megumin.

"...Thanks, you saved me before I could get eaten."

Kazuma looked up despairing as he considered his options. Maybe comparing Megumin to a missile launcher had been more accurate than he thought. Because once it had fired it's load, what was a missile launcher other than deadweight? "Megumin, why did you use such an attack if you knew that it would leave you like this?"

"Explosion magic is life." Megumin staunchly declared. "If I don't use it at least once a day, the built up energy shall rip my body apart!"

''Yeah, I'm not falling for that chuuni bullshit.' Kazuma scoffed. "Too bad, because as your new Party Leader, I'm hereby banning Explosion magic except for emergencies. You really need something less destructive for normal usage."

"I can't."

"Excuse me?"

"I can only use Explosion magic. I can't use any other type."

For a whole minute, Kazuma quietly stared down at Megumin's still form, not saying anything as wind gently blew by. "...for real?"

"For real."

"Don't screw with me!" Stomping the ground and releasing a burst of wind from the impact, Kazuma grabbed Megumin by her collar and dragged her off to a nearby tree. Sitting her up against the tree, Kazuma crossed his arms as he looked down on her. "You're the one who told me that {Explosion} magic was an advanced skill! Even your Adventurer Card confirms that! If that's so, what the hell have you been using to get enough points to unlock it?! Can you look me in the eye and say you have no other attacks?!"

"I'm an Archwizard who loves {Explosion} above all else!" Megumin bravely replied. "I could, of course, easily go on adventures if I learned other magic, but that just won't do! Even if only one use per day is my limit and I keep collapsing after every use, {Explosion} is still the one for me! After all, I chose the path of an Archwizard solely to push my {Explosion} to it's utmost potential!"

"...it simultaneously terrifies me how hopeless you are and amazes me on how the hell you've survived up till now." Kazuma sighed as he palmed his face, looking down at the stubborn look on Megumin's doll-like face. "Can you even move at the moment?"

"N-No. I'm unable to move for at least an hour after casting... and even then, I won't be able to use {Explosion} again until tomorrow..." Megumin trembled as Kazuma suddenly gained a scary smirk and seated himself next to her, only to squeak and blush as he lifted her onto his laps. "W-What are you doing?!"

"You do remember one of the conditions for joining my Party, right?" Kazuma let his fingers trail down her inner thigh and start massaging them, causing the girl to shudder against him. "If you feel like changing your mind, I'll stop immediately~"

Like hell he'd actually stop. Kazuma would definitely go far if he didn't an immediate refusal.

"I... I..." Megumin's voice hitched in her throat, staring at the predatory look in Kazuma's eyes which was doing an even better job at paralyzing her than her mana exhaustion did.

"I don't here a 'no'." Kazuma rubbed a finger directly against her panties now, enjoying the shudder he caused when he pushed a small but concentrated blast of air through the black cloth. "Well?"

"H-Heh… W-Whatever you'll do, this won't bother me…" She really tried to sound defiant, but with the slight whimper in her tone, it was a really terrible effort.

Kazuma gave her a slight look of pity. "Those are challenging words, Megumin."

"Ah~!" His finger didn't bury into her lower lips, merely dancing on the edge of her labia and testing the waters. Megumin bit her lower lip, hating how gentle he was being despite his cruel words. He merely kept to teasing her, rubbing against the entrance and slowly getting the dam to leak, producing just a tiny amount of juices that was slowly, but surely, flowing down to meet his finger.

And then Kazuma pulled her soaked panties aside and sunk a finger in.

"A-Aeeih!" Body jolting in place, Megumin's legs closed on reflex, mana exhaustion be damned, but that only pushed his hand closer to her slit, allowing him easy access to her nether regions. "S-Stop, y-you c—Aaahheee..! N-No..!"

Kazuma had only injected one finger, but then moved a second one, slowly spreading her lips wide, her hips trembling and legs weak. Her body felt hot, and her mind was slowly growing hazy with lust, trying to regain control but failing at that.

And Kazuma just kept smirking through it all, leaning over her hunched form and eyeing his hand in action as he took his time in pushing his fingers deeper with every thrust.

"N-No, I don't— Something's coming...! Something's going to burst~!"

"Don't fight it, Megumin." Kazuma whispered as he then nibbled her ear. "Let it explode~"

"HHWWAAAA~!" Megumin gasped as Kazuma drew back his fingers before plunging once more into her depths, scraping against the walls of her tunnel, while his thumb pressed down on her clit. That was more than enough to send her crashing into a powerful orgasm, one that shook throughout her body as her vision glazed over and stars formed in her eyes, her body spasming multiple of times and a guttural moan escaping her lips before she fully collapsed against him, her head leaning against his shoulder as her juices completely covered his hand.

"A-Ahh… Nngha~" Megumin's mind felt too hazy, her body felt too weak, and she couldn't feel anything anymore.

"G-Glad to be onboard..." Megumin whispered back, her eyes still unfocused.

With that, Megumin dozed off against Kazuma's shoulder, finally succumbing to the exhaustion.

Looking down on her sleeping features, Kazuma rearranged her clothes and adjusted himself to be more comfortable for her. It was the least he could do for the first ever girl he'd fingered. "...well, that just happened. Thank you, Internet, for the knowledge you granted to me has now been put into glorious practice."

A few miles away, two female Adventurers stared at them while safely hidden.

"W-Well... that was..." The silver-haired one with a lithe build and a scar on her right cheek commented with a blush. "They sure are bold, huh..."

The blonde woman in armor panted heavily as her face reddened to a dangerous degree. "To mercilessly tease his subordinate outdoors and exposed... He's perfect!"

"EEEH?!" Aqua pounded her fists against Kazuma as she whined. "You went and recruited a Party member without me?! And it's a Crimson Demon at that!"

"Is there anything I should know about Crimson Demons?" Kazuma replied, his body always dispersing into air which each punch from Aqua.

"Well..." Aqua actually stopped hitting him to think on it. "Crimson Demons are a specific race of humans naturally born with high INT and possess quality magical capabilities as well. Their name 'Crimson Demon' was born from the fact that they all possess red eyes that glow crimson when particularly excited."

Kazuma sensed a 'but' and said so.

"They all also have weird names and are proud chuunibyou." Aqua finished.

"All of them?!" Kazuma cringed, thinking back on Megumin's attitude. "No wonder Megumin could act like that so casually. She was raised around that."

It also explained why no other Party could handle her for long, with her attitude not matching her skills.

"Well, her name's Megumin and she's got an obsession with {Explosion}. You can learn more when you meet her tomorrow." Kazuma revealed as they reached their destination.

Aqua crouched next to him, her eyes narrowed as they surveyed the nest of goblins before the dungeon they wanted to investigate.

"Listen up, Aqua." Kazuma whispered. "I'm gonna act as vanguard while-"

"Die, goblins!" Aqua roared as she charged at one of the larger goblins present, raising up her glowing fist.

"[God Blow!]"

"Huh." Kazuma blinked as the upper body of the large body promptly became a mess of torn flesh, shattered bones and pulpy blood splayed out over everything behind it. "So that's what happens when she uses that against something not immune to her... Guess her confidence was warranted."

Like the wind his Devil Fruit granted him power over, Kazuma dashed forward and instantly slashed through five goblins that were about to attack Aqua's unprotected back. "Watch out, Aqua!"

"Haha!" Aqua cackled as she summoned her staff and hagoromo. "I've got a reliable bodyguard like you, after all!"

"[God Requiem!]"

The flower at it's top blossomed to life as Aqua stabbed her staff into the earth, causing an eruption of divine aquatic energy to blast upwards from around them, sending every monster up into the air.

"I got it from here." Kazuma raised his arm, a miniature vortex spinning into existence in the palm of his hand. "Get blown away!"

Aqua whistled as they were suddenly encircled by a roaring twister of wind that shot up and engulfed the falling goblins, tearing them apart with contemptuous ease. "Not bad, Kazuma! Have you been practicing where I couldn't see you?"

"N-No!" Kazuma denied hotly, furiously struggling not to think on the various incidents he'd actually blown himself away instead of his targets. "Onward, Aqua! Ahead of us is treasure for the drinks you like buying!"

Kazuma sighed as Aqua predictably squealed and rushed ahead into the dungeon, only to raise a confused eyebrow when Aqua soon ran back out screaming at the top of her lungs. "What's wrong?"

"R-R-Rookie Killer!" Aqua pointed out as a large, feline monster sauntered out of the dungeon, towering over Kazuma and Aqua's quavering forms, drool already slobbering down it's sabretooth-like fangs.

Even years later, Kazuma would still be unable to properly describe what happened at moment. With his 'Fight-or-Flight' instincts settling on fight, he would blearily remember punching forward with as much power as he could at the most monster-like monster he'd ever encountered.

*BOOM!*

Back in the Adventurer's Guild, Megumin and several other Adventurers gasped at the sound of a large explosion, as though something had just gone off somewhere below them. Quickly rushing outside with several of the Adventurers, she stopped to gawk at the sight of several tons of earth having been blasted into the air, along with something huge soaring towards... them...

"Take cover!"

The blond Adventurer Dust yelled, showing a rare glimpse of competence as he tackled his Party members out of the way, with Megumin and several others taking the advice as something slammed down before the guild's gate.

*THAAM!*

Once the dust cleared, there was a hush at the sight of the Rookie Killer's utterly pulverized corpse.

"Who..." Megumin coughed out, uncaring that her hat had been blown off her head. "Who did this?!"

"Thank you, Kazuma-san!" Aqua wailed while clinging to him. "This dungeon exploration is getting too scary and bloody! I'm really afraid now!"

"Stop crying, Aqua." Kazuma replied, letting Aqua hold on to him while he surveyed the damage he'd caused. "It's inevitable if we want to kill the Demon King. We needed more experience with things like this anyways."

"But, it's dark, bloody, and scary Kazuma. Uhhh~" Aqua cried as he petted her head.

"Even so, I'll do my best to protect you. Oh, and Megumin, too. She is a bit younger than me." Kazuma added as an afterthought. "After all, I'm a Hero and your Party Leader, right?"

With that said, Kazuma got up and faced the dungeon. "With that monster gone, I'm pretty sure there won't be anymore in there. It's now time for the best part of dungeon crawling: looting!"

LUK was usually a thing that Adventurers of this world didn't find essential. But for Kazuma, he would vehemently disagree, considering how 'chance' was in his favor as he opened the treasury vault to find a room full of jewels and gold.

"Aqua, do we have anything like a bag of infinite holding like Doraemon?"

"Unfortunately, we don't."

"Dammit."

"I can still use my Hagoromo to wrap around it and store it away in my pocket dimension, though."

"...and the reason I'm just learning about this now?"

"One: It only works for me. Two: It's still a scarf. If I open it up carelessly, all the gathered stuff would just fall out. Nowhere as convenient as a bag with a zip or flap cover."

"...why can't you be this useful all the time?"

"Excuse me?!"
