I don't own Disney's The Owl House. I do, however own the Main OC. Hope you all enjoy my story on this lovely show.
Chapter Twenty
Today, Hexside had a field trip planned to go to the Emperor's Castle. Lilith and a bunch of Coven Scouts swarmed around the Owl House hidden from view. Unfortunately, they didn't anticipate how alert Hooty was to his surroundings. Watching Hooty trounce Lilith and the Coven Scouts from within the Owl House, Eda sets the binoculars up.
"Hooty! Ah, you're a thorn in my side," said Eda, grabbing a cup of tea. "But you always dig your way into my heart."
"Is that…" said Danielle, coming into the room and spotting a cauldron.
"Watch it! That's Witch's Wool," said Eda, grabbing the cauldron.
"I remember reading about that," said Danielle, looking at Eda. "It repels powerful spells."
"Yup," said Eda, looking at Danielle. "Every witch worth their salt has a cloak made from this stuff. But since you're allergic to wool, you really can't have it."
"Yeah, the emperor's cronies have stepped up their games lately," said Danielle, sitting on the couch. "Why does he want you so badly?"
"He ordered my capture years ago because I refuse to fall in line," replied Eda, looking at Danielle. "Emperor Belos wants to control all wild magic through his coven system."
"He's not going to stop till he gets you," said Danielle, leaning back. "I'm not going to let that happen."
"Awww, don't sound so worried. I'm a master escape artist. The only thing that can slow me down is my curse, and that hasn't bothered me for weeks!" said Eda, before feathers started popping out of her body. "Uh oh..."
"I don't think so," said Danielle, grabbing an elixir and stuffing it down the Owl Beast's mouth, only to see it not working. "What the…? King, grab more elixirs!"
"Weh?" said King, poking his head in the room and seeing the Owl Beast. "Ah!"
"Down girl! Heel!" said Danielle, setting off a water glyph to move the elixir out of the bottles and straight into the Owl Beast's mouth. "This is not good. I just sent four worth's of elixir in her. Aah!"
"Danielle!" shouted King, seeing Danielle run up the stairwell. "I got them!"
"Good," said Danielle, grabbing King as she dodges the Owl Beast straight into Eda's room. "Not so fast."
"Whoa," said King, seeing every elixir blasted down the Owl Beast's mouth. "That was a lot of elixir."
"Yes, yes it was," said Danielle, preventing Eda from falling as she reverted back. "Got'cha."
"Oh," said Eda, coming to before seeing all the empty potion bottles. "Whew! Oh, thanks for this! And those..."
"I was wondering why you were wearing that scarf," said Danielle, seeing the scarf fall off, revealing Eda's gem was half black. "You were hiding the fact that your curse has been getting worse."
"Ugh... you're right," said Eda, gesturing to her gem. "It's taking more elixir to turn me back and more magic to keep the curse from rearing its feathery head."
"What's going to happen when the curse finally overpowers you?" asked Danielle, staring at Eda. "Are you gonna…"
"I just kinda sorta, turn into the Owl Beast... forever. Ahhh, it's a fate much worse than death if you think about it," said Eda, laughing sarcastically.
"No no no-no-no," said Danielle, frantic. "I can't let that happen."
"Hey, don't worry. I just have to limit my magic use a little," said Eda, grabbing a hold of Danielle's shoulders before using her fingers to pull Danielle's lips into a smile. "Ah! There's the Danielle I know!"
"Eda…" said Danielle, staring at Eda concerned.
"Ugh. Go on. Do the parallel arm thing..." said Eda, letting Danielle hug her.
"King demands huggies too!" said King, jumping in and hugging Eda's leg.
"Okay!" said Eda, trying to walk all the way down to the kitchen. "It's... time... for... school!"
"I'm not letting go," said Danielle, gripping Eda harder. "I don't want to let go."
"Danielle, you… have … to… let… go…" said Eda, pulling Danielle off. "Finally. Have a good day!"
"Fine, I'll go," said Danielle, looking at Eda. "But please be…"
"Ah, what a good kid! So considerate. She deserves something nice," said Eda, shutting the back door before looking at the cauldron in the living room. "And I think I know what!"
"Eda…" said Danielle, walking away from the house. "There's got to be something I can do to lessen the curse somehow. Hmm…"
"The roughhousing was fun, but I like this part of our playdates even better!" said Hooty, pouring some tea for the fallen Coven Scouts.
"Nope," said Danielle, running away from the scene. "Not a playdate I want."
Running towards Hexside, Danielle sees various students have already boarded the dragon bus including Principal Bump. Walking over to Willow, Amity, and Gus, Danielle slows down to a more steady pace.
"Hey guys," said Danielle, gaining their attention.
"Danielle, you ready for the field trip of a lifetime to the one, the only, Emperor's Castle!" said Gus, holding a book up.
"I don't like how they treat Eda," said Danielle, looking at everyone. "But a trip to the Emperor's Castle may cheer me up. I happen to like history and historical sites."
"Then you'll like all the cool stuff!" said Gus, shoving the book towards Danielle.
"Well, these are interesting," said Danielle, looking at each artifact before seeing a specific one. "Healing Hat, cure all diseases and heal all curses! This may be…"
"Your thinking of Eda, aren't you?" asked Amity, looking at Danielle. "And her curse."
"Yeah," replied Danielle, closing the book. "She's done so much for me. I wanna do something for her."
"You'll figure it out," said Amity, gearing Danielle to the dragon bus. "You always do."
"Yeah," said Danielle, sitting down before taking out a notepad and writing stuff down. "I'll figure it out."
"No roughhousing!" said Principal Bump, after the dragon bus had left Hexside and nearing the Emperor's Castle. "Do not make me turn this carriage around!"
"Hey, Danielle!" said Willow, gaining Danielle's attention.
"Hmm, yeah Willow," said Danielle, closing her notepad and looking at Willow. "What is it?"
"I was just saying we were getting close to the castle," said Willow, looking at Danielle before pointing at the Emperor's Castle which was within view. "Emperor Belos built it as a symbol of unity. Before he came to power, folks were doing magic all wrong. He taught us that the only way to respect what the Titan gave us is through joining covens."
"I finally get to see the Emperor's Castle!" said Amity, squealing in joy. "But I still remember what you said that day and still thinking about it."
"Glad to hear that," said Danielle, looking at Amity and Willow. "How powerful is Emperor Belos?"
"No offense to Eda, but the emperor is the most skilled witch that's ever lived," replied Willow, looking at Danielle. "He can even talk to the Titan."
"Papa Titan stopped talking hundreds of years ago to that bastard!"
"How old is Emperor Belos?" asked Danielle, looking at Willow and Amity.
"Over fifty, I guess," replied Amity, seeing the dragon bus land and everyone getting off. "No one really knows how old he really is. Why? The Voice say something."
"Yup," said Danielle, before seeing the bridge extend. "Oh no, the damn bridge is… great, childhood fear slowly resurfacing."
"Now, the Emperor's assistant will be your tour guide," said Principal Bump, looking at the students. "Please don't make me regret taking you here."
"What childhood fear?" asked Amity, looking at Danielle as she grabs her and Willow's arms.
"We have something called an escalator back home," replied Danielle, gripping their arms hard. "I was pretty young when seeing an escalator and got pretty scared. It flares up when I actually notice… every single time. Ugh, get me off this thing."
"Children of Hexside, Emperor Belos welcomes you to his castle. We're honored by visits from students," said a Biped Demon member of the Emperor's Coven, standing before the students. "You'll soon be a part of a coven, some lucky few may even find their home here, in the mighty Emperor's Coven!"
"Kikimora! I'd sooner cuddle Eberwolf than her!"
"Eberwolf… as in the Head of Beast-Keeping Coven," said Danielle, only knowing the silhouette from the school's banner. "Are they that cute?"
"Oh, yeah… hehehe!"
"You... are the future of the Isles! My job is to teach you its past," said Kikimora, ushering the students to follow her in to the Emperor's Castle. "Today, the Isles are a place of peace and prosperity. But that wasn't always the case. Up until 50 years ago, witches and demons practiced wild magic during what we called the Savage Ages. Witches had access to corrupt knowledge, and that dishonored the Titan."
"Well, there is that saying," thought Danielle, looking at the various murals as she walks past them. "Absolute power corrupts absolutely."
"I'd say."
"That was, until our great Emperor ascended to the throne, and taught witches how to use magic properly," said Kikimora, gesturing to another mural. "Our next stop is the Emperor's personal collection of relics."
"Oh! Danielle, you'll like this. It's where…" said Willow, seeing Danielle sparkly eyed. "You're enjoying this."
"Ancient artifacts…" said Danielle, before shaking her head. "No, keep it together. Eee, so much history."
"The Relic Room. These items are reminders of our great Emperor's overwhelming power," said Kikimora, walking in the room and passing the relics. "From the curious and mighty."
"Oooh," said Gus, looking at a specific relic.
"To the very handy," said Kikimora, passing another relic.
"Oh, I could grow such beautiful things with that," said Willow, eyeing the relic.
"And even, the most valuable," said Kikimora, passing the Healing Hat.
"Eda," thought Danielle, before feeling Amity's hand on her shoulder and walking away.
"Come along, children," said Kikimora, gaining the students attention as they walk out of the room and down the hall. "Here at the Emperor's Coven, we require members with sophistication, elegance, and grace."
"Uh oh," thought Danielle, seeing a disheveled Lilith enter before heading around the corner. "Someone must not have liked Hooty's tea party."
"Ah! Make way for Miss Lilith Clawthorne, students," said Kikimora, backing up with the students. "Yes, and if I'm not mistaken, she's on her way to see the emperor himself. Let's all wish her luck!"
"Good luck, Miss Lilith!" said the Students, as Lilith walks pass them.
"Thank you, students," said Lilith, before walking away. "Good luck with puberty."
"This way, children," said Kikimora, walking down the hall with the students behind her.
"Okay, initiate plan," thought Danielle, running down the hall after Lilith. "Get the Emperor to listen to me."
As Lilith walks through the halls, Danielle tails her out of sight. The closer to the Emperor's room they get, the more pipes are visible snaking around the walls. Danielle ducks behind a corner before Lilith turns around. When she continues on, Danielle peeks. Lilith stops at a massive door to clean herself up before entering. Danielle runs up and watches through the keyhole. Inside is a massive throne room. A beating green heart, far larger than would belong in any current living creature, is hooked up to pipes above the golden throne, which is flanked with flaming braziers. Various guards are standing around the room, one with a mask resembling an owl standing directly behind the throne. Belos himself is sitting on the throne, his head in his hand. Lilith approaches the throne and kneels.
"I am at your service, Emperor Belos," said Lilith, making eye contact with Emperor Belos.
"Just a moment, Lilith," said Emperor Belos, grabbing a dormant palisman and breaking it before pouring its essence in the eyehole of his mask. "Ah, that's better."
"That… that poor palisman," thought Danielle, gasping as she covers her mouth as she runs away down the halls silently before looking out a window. "Looks like everyone is leaving. Wait… that's… Hey-hey guys, what's up?"
"Were you planning on taking the Healing Hat?" asked Amity, looking at Danielle.
"No, I was going to talk to Emperor Belos first," replied Danielle, looking at Amity, Willow and Gus. "But…"
"But what?" said Amity, crossing her arms over her chest.
"I saw him off a palisman and poured its essence into his eyes," replied Danielle, hearing them gasp. "It wasn't pretty."
"Why would he…" said Willow, before inhaling. "Danielle, no matter what, you can't steal this hat."
"I wasn't," said Danielle, holding her arms close. "Thou shall not steal."
"But, you can borrow it!" said Gus, stepping in front of Willow.
"That's no different from stealing Gus," said Danielle, looking at Gus.
"Well, we're going to help," said Amity, looking at Danielle.
"Huh?" said Danielle, looking at them. "Okay, I'm not a fan of this but how bout a heist?"
Danielle, Willow, Amity, and Gus sneak through the halls when they see a guard coming down the stairs. They duck behind a small bush, which Willow grows into the shape of a unicorn. The guard stops, nudges its horn, and continues on. The three run off; Another guard is standing in a hallway. Danielle bring out four glyphs and explains it before they go invisible and run pass the guard. They reach yet another hallway, where Gus illusions up a double of Kikimora to send a guard off. Once the guard leaves, the illusion Kikimora does the worm. Gus laughs, oblivious to Danielle, Amity and Willow's confused looks. Entering the Relic Room, everyone stares at the relics before them.
"Healing Hat. You better live up to what was said about you," said Danielle, grabbing the Healing Hat gently and feeling the energy course through her. "Ow, I think its magic just hit something inside me. There's that exploding feeling again."
"Danielle, are you okay?" asked Amity, staring at Danielle.
"I will be," replied Danielle, stuffing the Healing Hat in her hag. "Now we can cure Eda then return it without anyone noticing it was gone."
"I will know," said Emperor Belos, his voice echoing in the room.
"Not good," said Danielle, gripping her bag as barricades block the exits.
"Stand back!" said Willow, grabbing the relic representing the Plant Coven and putting it on before sending a giant buff tree at the doors.
"Nice one Willow. Let's go, before anyone sees us," said Danielle, gesturing everyone to follow only to see Lilith before her. "Eep!"
"Why, if it isn't Eda's human pet," said Lilith, pulling Danielle's hood down with her palisman. "How perfect. Aren't I lucky to find you here."
"Back off! I'm not afraid to attack you," said Danielle, glaring at Lilith. "And Eda will not like it if you do anything to us."
"That's the plan," said Lilith, teleporting in front of Danielle.
"What?" thought Danielle, before realization dawned on her. "No."
"Run, Danielle!" shouted Willow, raising the relic up and grabbing Lilith's staff with a wooden arm.
"Wrong move, Lilith," said Gus, striking a fighting pose alongside an illusionary double. "It's two against one, and you don't stand a chance against…"
"I think my mind is finally made up," said Amity, conjuring an abomination only for it to be blasted apart before joining Willow and Gus on the floor.
"Such a shame, I had high hopes for you Amity," said Lilith, before magicking the Healing Hat out of Danielle's bag. "Now, that doesn't belong to you."
"Wait, no! Just let me borrow it long enough to heal Eda," said Danielle, grabbing and pulling the Healing Hat close before it's shredded. "No! How could you? Aah!"
"Huh," said Lilith, magically pulling Danielle close and grabbing her. "These decrepit relics are useless."
"What… no! That can't be!" shouted Danielle, struggling in Lilith's hold.
"If you wanna see your friend again, deliver this to Edalyn," said Lilith, having her palisman thrown at Willow and Gus which flies them away before looking at Amity. "As for you Amity, I'd head home. I'll be informing your parents of what transpired."
"I am never speaking to you again," said Amity, walking out the room before looking back at Danielle. "I'm sorry Danielle."
"It's… fine," said Danielle, watching Amity walk away before glaring at Lilith. "Happy now?"
"Gladly," replied Lilith, teleporting herself and Danielle to a different area of the castle.
"Aw man, teleporting is not good on the stomach," said Danielle, covering her mouth.
"It's rough at the beginning but after a while you get use to it unless you have a weak stomach," said Lilith, conjuring a bubble-like barrier around Danielle before looking away. "Now stay put."
"Not likely," thought Danielle, grabbing a light glyph and doing what she did on Piniet's barrier before putting on her inline skates. "There we go."
"What was that squeak?" asked Lilith, before being blinded by a light spell. "Aah! What the…? Get back here! How is she so fast all of a sudden?"
Skating down the halls as fast as she can, Danielle skates down a few rails. Grabbing a banner and sliding down, Danielle keeps looking back and sees she lost Lilith. Not wanting to press her luck, Danielle keeps skating down the halls before entering a room. Catching her breath, Danielle leans against the door.
"Lost her," said Danielle, deeply inhaling before seeing a shadow move about. "What the… eep!"
"I spy with my little eye someone who's not suppose to be here," said the Moving Shadow, before appearing face to face with Danielle. "It's you! Hahahahaha!"
"You're… you're…" said Danielle, looking at the Moving Shadow as it formed into a Shadow Child with sun and moon motifs.
"I'm what?" asked the Shadow Child, looking at Danielle.
"Taki słodki!" said Danielle, starry eyed as she tries to hug the Shadow Child only to go through him and fall to the floor. "Aah! Oomph! Right, shadow, untouchable."
"I could have told you that," said the Shadow Child, looking at Danielle.
"Pfft, that's not going to stop me from trying. I'll figure it out eventually," said Danielle, looking at the Shadow Child and flexing her fingers. "Now, come here, ty mały słodziaku."
"What? No, get away," said the Shadow Child, being chased around the room. "I don't like this game."
"Run all you want," said Danielle, pushing a chair to the side. "But I'm going to get these cuddles in, one way or another."
"Uh-uh," said the Shadow Child, sinking into a unique tablet. "Get can't me now. Can't believe I'm using this as a safe place right now."
"Have to come out eventually," said Danielle, touching the tablet only for it spark and creep up her arms. "What the? Ow ow ow-ow-ow! Aaah!"
The magic from the tablet sends Danielle blasting into a pillar. Falling to the floor, Danielle cringes in pain before looking at her arms. Still sparking, her arms look like they were turning into shadows. Both her hands had a glittery five-point star within a crescent moon on it. The Shadow Child peers out of the tablet, wondering what happened.
"What just happened?" asked Danielle, looking at her arms. "Is there a failsafe on the tablet?"
"The tablet is basically Titan Magic," said the Shadow Child staring at Danielle's arms. "And members of my race really can't touch it… hmmm…"
"I'm human," said Danielle, staring at the Shadow Child. "One hundred percent human."
"Odd, your braid and that one color in your eyes," said the Shadow Child, staring at Danielle closely. "Those aren't seen in humans. Are you…"
"Human, little shadow," said Danielle, flicking the Shadow Child's nose.
"Ow, I felt that," said the Shadow Child, covering his nose before realization dawned on him. "Uh-oh."
"Looks like I find a way," said Danielle, seeing the Shadow Child back away. "Look, I'll control myself, okay. I'm just a little lost here is all."
"Oh, you must be from that field trip that was planned today," said the Shadow Child, looking at Danielle. "If you wanted to play, you could have just said so. Just not the one you tried to play moments ago, I didn't like it."
"Sorry about that," said Danielle, slightly scratching her cheek. "Why don't we start over then? I'm Danielle Hopkins from Gravesfield Connecticut in the Human Realm. Nice to mee'cha."
"Oh, okay," said the Shadow Child, looking at Danielle and smiling. "I'm the Collector. Wanna play?"
"While I love to play and everything but…" said Danielle, looking to the side.
"You're just like the rest," said Collector, pouting as he turns around.
"I'm sorry," said Danielle, before an idea popped in her head. "Well, if I can't play right now, then we can play later."
"Huh…" said Collector, looking at Danielle.
"Wanna come with?" asked Danielle, looking at Collector. "It's got to be better than some dingy castle room."
"Really?" asked Collector, looking at Danielle. "You'll really play with me? Pinky swear?"
"Course, I pinky swear," said Danielle, wrapping her pinky finger with Collector's pinky finger. "Haven't broken many promises before and I'm not starting now."
"Yay! Wait… what are you doing?" asked Collector, seeing Danielle angle her bag towards the tablet.
"Can't really touch the tablet without going shadow here," said Danielle, getting the tablet in her bag. "Next best thing is placing it in my bag. Don't worry, it will only be for a bit, okay."
"Okay, I don't like it," said Collector, seeing the flap about to be placed over. "But I believe you."
"What a strong brave boy you are," said Danielle, rubbing Collector's cheek before putting the flap completely over.
"Strong… brave…" thought Collector, before smiling. "I made the right decision. I like her."
"Okay, now how to get out of the castle and back at the Owl House," said Danielle, only to be bound by energy-based ropes then a bubble-like barrier. "Ah! Dangit."
"Finally, I found you," said Lilith, magicking Danielle close. "Now then… let's go greet Edalyn."
"Dangit, dangit, dangit!" thought Danielle, struggling against her binds as they teleported to the entrance of the castle before hearing something blasted into the outer wall of the castle. "I have to get loose. No no no-no-no, Eda."
"Where is she?" asked Eda, flying around Lilith.
"Easy now," said Lilith, magicking Danielle closer so Eda could see. "The human is safe."
"Eda, I'm sorry!" shouted Danielle, in a panic. "I can explain."
"You can have her back, provided you do as I say," said Lilith, walking in front of Danielle. "Renounce your wild ways and join the Emperor's Coven. He can help heal your curse!"
"Don't believe everything that bonehead tells you. He doesn't want to heal me, he wants to control me!"
"Don't believe everything that bonehead tells you," said Eda, glaring at Lilith. "He doesn't want to heal me, he wants to control me!"
"Then I will take you in by force," said Lilith, spinning her staff.
"You've always looked down on me because I'm wild, but fortunately, that just made me work harder than you."
"You've always looked down on me because I'm wild, but fortunately, that just made me work harder than you," said Eda, landing on the bridge.
"The hell…" said Danielle, hearing the Voice quote Eda. "Did I just hear you squeal?"
"I've always liked that scene."
"Scene?" said Danielle, getting a little angry. "Do you think this is some kind of game?"
"Huh… … wait… what?"
"Eep!" said Danielle, after Lilith's attack sent her bubble-like barrier flying.
"Danielle!" shouted Eda, redirecting the boards of the bridge to keep Danielle from falling off.
"Eda… come on reach," said Danielle, reaching for her pocket and grabbing a light glyph. "Perfect."
"Stop hiding behind Danielle, you coward!" said Eda, not noticing Danielle conjuring a light katana and slashing herself free.
"It's sad to see you slowing down sister," said Lilith, panting. "Tell me, is it the curse?"
"Eda!" shouted Danielle, noticing Eda's gem. "Your gem!"
"Maybe it is the curse. But then how pathetic are you, that you can't best me at my worst?!"
"Maybe it is the curse," said Eda, ignoring Danielle. "But then how pathetic are you, that you can't best me at my worst?!"
"Stop quoting Eda!" shouted Danielle, angry at the Voice.
"I can't help it. Those scenes… but how… I don't… understand…"
"Maybe you are stronger than me, but that made me work smarter!" said Lilith, a barrier around herself to protect against Eda's onslaught. "I became smart, crafty!"
"A lapdog for a tyrant!" shouted Eda, glaring at Lilith.
"You always thought you were better than me, that I could never beat you in anything!" said Lilith, glaring at Eda.
"The screen… it flickered… … Real… it's real… but then… that means… I really…"
"I am better than you!" said Eda, staring at Lilith.
"Then why were you so easy to curse?!" shouted Lilith, gasping as well as Danielle. "A-And I have the power to remove it, if you would just let me explain."
"How could you?" shouted Danielle, glaring at Lilith. "She's your sister. Your sister!"
"Human," said Lilith, magicking Danielle over the bridge. "That orb was for your protection."
"Aaaaaaaaaaah!" screamed Danielle, falling down towards the spikes at the bottom of the moat before a sparkly wind encases her. "Huh… what the… mom's necklace, it's… sparkly?"
"Danielle!" shouted Eda, seeing Danielle floating above the spikes before Lilith magicks a hand to push Danielle further to them.
"Whoa, wait, stop!" shouted Danielle, before feeling Eda's magic on her. "Eda, don't. You'll use up your magic."
"It's my power, kid," said Eda, straining. "And before you showed up, I spent my whole life wasting it."
"Please, don't…" said Danielle, teary eyed. "Don't waste it on me."
"Alright, kid. Listen to me," said Eda, the curse taking over. "I'm going away, and I don't know if I can bounce back this time. Watch over King. Remember to feed Hooty."
"Please, don't…" said Danielle, staring at Eda.
"And Danielle, thank you for being in my life," said Eda, before the curse finally took control.
"Don't leave me!" shouted Danielle, Eda's magic dissipating before the sparkly wind carried her up to the bridge with Owlbert fluttering nearby. "Eda."
Eda rolls over and screams, her voice overlapping with the Owl Beast's. She slams a hand to the bridge, and the Owl Beast stands. It advances on Danielle, who stands firm with outstretched hands. The Owl Beast tries to pounce, as Danielle cringes, but the impact never comes, Lilith binding the Owl Beast and dragging it halfway across the bridge with her staff.
"Come along, sister. Now we can let the healing begin," said Lilith, before Danielle attacked her with her light katana.
"How could you?" shouted Danielle, slashing erratically as her eyes glow a light purplish pink. "She's your sister, damn it! Your sister!"
"Leave, human!" said Lilith, magically pushing Danielle onto land before grabbing Owlbert. "Edalyn is finally with her family. Her real family. Go back to your world. This one is ours."
"She's become a part of my world," shouted Danielle, as the bridge pulls away.
"What…" thought Lilith, as the castle doors close.
"Eda…" said Danielle, teary eyed before skating back as quickly to the Owl House. "I'm sorry. I screwed up big time."
Skating though Bonesborough, the light purplish pink of Danielle's eyes has spread. Even Danielle's hair has gained more silvery white color near her braid. Skating down a hill, Hooty sees Danielle and opens the door as she skates pass him.
"Danielle," said Hooty, seeing Danielle distraught.
"Hoo-Hooty," said Danielle, before really seeing the living room, decorations on one side of the room with a layered cake and a present on the coffee table. "No way… why?"
"The cake is me!" said King, popping out of the cake. "Hey, um, where's Eda?"
"I'm sorry, you two," said Danielle, sitting on the floor next to the couch. "I made a big mistake and cause of it, Eda's been captured. I'm really sorry."
"Danielle," said Hooty, wrapping around Danielle. "Hoo."
"Oh right," said Danielle, laying one of the couch pillows flat before placing the tablet on it. "There you go."
"Alright!" shouted Collector, leaving the tablet. "Ooh, is there a party going on?"
"Danielle, who is this?" asked King, before hearing Collector gasp.
"You look like that bully who put me in here. No way, are you his little Titan baby?" asked Collector, swirling around King. "I've always wanted to play with you! But your dumb pops hid you. Hey, do you like hide and seek? I'll hide first!"
"Wait… what? No," said King, clinging to Danielle's leg. "I am the King of Demons, not some Titan. Danielle, tell him."
"King…" said Danielle, before really seeing the present. "This isn't indigo, it's not a witch's cloak… Eda lied?"
"Well, yeah course she did," said King, looking at Danielle. "She wanted it to be a surprise. She got sorcerer's silk and made a sorcerer's cloak for you cause of your allergy to wool."
"Second best after witch's wool," said Hooty, shaking his head before placing the wrapped cloak on Danielle's lap.
"It's… it's beautiful," said Danielle, rubbing the teal fabric between her fingers before clutching her chest in pain.
"Okay, let's play!" said Collector, jumping up.
"Danielle, are you okay?" asked King, before gasping as he sees a little trickle of blood trail out of the corner of Danielle's mouth. "Danielle, you're…"
"Exploding… it exploding…" said Danielle, before passing out on the floor. "Mom… Dad…"
"Danielle!" shouted King and Hooty, curling in on Danielle before Hooty grabs a blanket off the couch and places it over her.
"We're not playing, are we?" asked Collector, looking at King and Hooty as they glare at him. "Okay, okay, I can wait a little longer."
