Bella POV
June
It is so weird to drive down these roads again. Especially since the last time I was here I was 14 years old. And now I'm almost 22 and have a two and a half year old snoozing away in my back seat.
I looked into the rear view mirror at my beautiful son. His long brown hair was covering his eyes as he slept. He would need a hair cut sooner or later. If Masen had his choice, it would be later. Way later. He hated when anyone had to mess with his hair.
I have loved being a mom. It is hands down the most fulfilling thing I have ever done. Every smile lights up my whole word, each giggle makes my day a little bit brighter.
Has it still been hard? Absolutely yes. I had to deal with the long sleepless nights all alone and every doctor appointment alone. See every first completely alone.
I have never know of anything other then being a single mom. And it's not to bad. It can be a little lonely when you only see a toddler all day. But still, I wouldn't change it for the world.
After Masen was born I worked so hard to get done with school as quickly as possible. And I freaking did it. I'm now an official teacher and could teach a few different things, but English literature was what I really wanted. I want to share my love of writing and books with my whole class.
I was able to get a job at Port Angeles elementary school, teaching 3rd graders. And I'm very excited for it.
Me and Alice had even found a cute little home in port angeles that we should be moving in to next week.
Masen was excited to be close to his papa and his Granny Sue. All he wanted to talk about lately, was how his Papa would take him on the boat to go fishing. I pretty much gave birth to my dads best friend and I honestly loved it. Seeing their relationship just makes me so happy.
Mase is definitely a very loved little boy. There is not a person in his life that doesn't showered him with love. And Masen gives it right back to them. He has the sweetest and most caring soul I have ever seen. Just a smile from Masen made your day hundred and ten times better.
"Mama" said a quiet voice behind me. I looked up at the rear view mirror for a second and saw my sleepy eyed son looking back at me.
"Hey baby. You feel better after that nap?" He shrugged, picking at his car seat buckles with one hand and rubbing his eye with the other. Masen was not much of a talker after he woke up. He was never a fussy kid, but when he woke up you better not push him. He will chop you up and eat you alive!
"How far mama" I looked down at my GPS and smiled. "Ten more minutes baby" he kicked his feet and let out an Alice worthy squeal. Making my ears ring. "I gonna go fishin, mama?" He rasped out, making me laughed.
"Yes Masen. You are going to go fishing. Are you excited?" He nodded his head wildly, making me worried that he would give himself whiplash. "I bet Papa, is so excited to take you fishing" Masen then decided to go into a long story about the first time he got to go fishing with Charlie. It was kind of cute, his little hands were waving as he got excited over what he was talking about. He was just so smart.
After what felt like years in the car we finally pulled into the drive of my childhood home. Still looked the same with the white sliding browning in spots from the years of rain. Sue had added flowers on each sides of the green stairs, giving it a womanly touch.
Charlie and Sue were already waiting for us on the porch, with their arms around each other. "Hurry mama" Masen fussed from his seat, clearly ready to be out of that car seat. "I'm comin, hold your horses kid" I opened my door, waving to my dad and Sue.
Sue was all but running to get to Masen and I happily move aside and let her pick up Mase from his seat. "Oh my sweet boy!! We have miss this chubby baby" Masen rolled his eyes, but smiled non the less.
"I's a big boy Granny sue" She laughed letting him know that he will always be her baby. "Hey kiddo" Charlie said, wrapping his arm around my shoulder and kissing the side of my head.
"Hi" I gave him a tight hug, before moving to grab Masen diaper bag and toy Thomas the train out of the car. Masen was obsessed with trains. Especially Thomas the train, and this plastic train went everywhere with us.
I left the rest of our luggage in the car, for me to deal with later. I was to tried to think about that now.
Walking into my parents home, I was filled with the smell of Sue gumbo and my mouth watered. "It smells so good in here Sue!" I loved her gumbo. Like I could probably eat a whole pot to myself.
"I am glad Bella! It should be ready in about 30 minutes" I asked her if she needed any help, but she shooed me out of the kitchen, telling me to go sit down and enjoy my time here. I grabbed two beers out of the fridge, bringing one to my dad and taking a Swig out of the other.
The corner of the living room, where our old empty fish take was, had been completely cleaned, cleared and changed into a toy corner. They had put two cube shelves there, placing blue fabric basket inside, filled with all the toys Masen could think of. Plus I knew he already had a lot of bigger toys in my old room.
"Dad, this is to much. Masen doesn't need all these toys" Masen looked up at me shocked that I would say such a thing. "Oh hush you. He's my first grandchild and my only grandchild right now. So let me have the fun of spoiling the squirt" I sighed and decided to just let it pass, he was probably right anyway.
I just don't want Masen to be one of those snobby kids, who are never grateful for anything. He hasn't shown any sides of this and I want to keep it that way. "Masen what do you say to Papa?" Mase smiled, running and jumping in Charlie's lap and giving him a big wet kiss.
"Tank you papa!" Charlie laughed and told Masen he was welcome, before sitting him back down and playful patting him on the butt. "Go play with all these toy, bud. Uncle Seth will be home soon"
Seth was Sue's son, he is 17 and is a really good kid. I never heard of him getting into any trouble or bad grades. Plus he was awesome with Masen and Mase loved his uncle Seth. Or Uncle Eth as he likes to calls him.
Charlie flipped though the TV channels for awhile, before settling on a rerun of some baseball game from the 90's. My phone beeped from beside me and I smiled at the text from Alice.
Alice: Ugh I remember why, I stopped living at home! Lol
Bella: Haha, that bad, huh?
Alice: its not that bad. My brother is just annoying and my mom is smothering me!! :(
Bella: Al, you're not going to die over a little bit of smothering from dear old mom. It's just a week babe.
Alice: *eye roll
I threw my phone back down, silently laughing at my pixie like best friend. She was the biggest drama queen when she wanted to be. I loved the girl, but damn.
laying my head on the back of the couch, I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I needed a hot bath and sleep. ASAP.
Dinner was delicious and I ate way to much and Masen did not eat enough. Sue made him a pizza which he usually loves, but he decided today that pizza was not longer his favorite and he just wanted to eat slash play with the grapes that were also on his plate.
I knew he was tried and ready for bed, so I didn't fight him on it and was just happy he was at least eating the grapes. He was could be such a picky eater some days and then others he will eat me out of house and home. Kids are so bipolar sometimes.
After dinner I carried a very cranky Masen up the stairs and into the only bathroom this house had. "No bath mama" he whined. "Just a short bath baby. I let you skip it last night, so you must take one tonight. That was our deal remember?"
Masen pouted his lips, but nodded letting me pull his shirt over his head. I left him to finish undressing and started to draw his bath for him. I checked the water on my wrist, making sure it wasn't to hot, and I poured some of him dove baby bath in the water. "Can Thomas take a bath with me?" I nodded darting across the hall, to my room, to grab his train. I walked back to the restroom and Masen was standing by the bathtub waiting for me.
Once Masen was all nice and clean, I wrapped him in a big fluffy towel and carried him into my old room across the hall. Charlie and Sue had moved my old queen bed to be push against the wall, so Masen could sleep with me. He never slept good in a new place and I knew that it would be better to just let him stay with me for the night.
I playfully tossed Mase onto the bed, making him laugh at me. Carefully I dried him baby soft skin and rubbed him down in his lavender dove baby lotion and placing a diaper on him. We were working on potty training, but it wasn't going to well, so Masen slept in a diaper at night. Just to be safe.
When he was all dressed, I let him go back downstairs to tell, his Granny and Papa Goodnight, while I cleaned up the mess from his bath and put his dirty towel in the basket.
Opening up my suit case at the end of our bed. I grabbed Masen's baby blanket and his Teddy bear that Esme gave him. Masen adores this stinking bear and can not sleep without it. He used to take it everywhere with him, till he found his love for Thomas the train, but he still uses his teddy at bed time, because you can't really cuddle a plastic train.
Esme had also gotten him this blanket after he was born. It is so soft with little woodland animals on it. She even got Masen Emmett Swan embroidered into the corner. It made me cry when I opened the box and found the blanket with the sweetest card attached to it.
Esme very quickly became the mom I never had and I love her so much. And so does Masen. I asked Esme to be his Nana, because she was so important to us, I felt like she should have a name just for her. And Mase LOVES his Nana.
He will cry for hours after she has to go back home. Esme will come and stay with us for a week at a time every few months and pretty much spends the entire time she's here, spoiling my son. I tried to get her to slow down, but it just makes them both so happy and I can't fight that.
Masen came back upstairs and luckily went down easy that night after a little nursing time, so I was finally able to take a bath and relax for a second.
Moving is the worst and moving with a two year old, is even harder. And we are not even going to talk about traveling by yourself. It's a nightmare. Something I will never do again.
Alice offered to come with me and ship her car here, but that's was not fair to her. I wanted to show everyone that I could do this all on my own. And yes I did do it, but now I'm just wore out and wishing I had taken the help that was offered to me, but you live and you learn I guess.

One week later
Today was finally move in day!! I could not wait to see the house Alice had picked for us. It was going to be beautiful, I just knew it. Alice had great taste, so whatever she picked would be amazing.
"Come on Masen, do you wanna go see the house with me or not" I yelled to my son from the back door. He had been out here all morning with Seth and his friends Paul, learning how to play football. He was excited to show his Uncle Emmy how much he learned, over the course of the week.
Masen ran over to me as fast as his chubby little legs would let him. "I wants go mama" I nodded and scooped him up, placing a kiss on his cheek. "Ok then, let's go bubba"
I carried him out to our Honda and buckled him into his car seat. I was needed to ask him pediatrician when he could stop rear facing, his legs were getting a little to long to be sitting like this anymore. "Mama!! I left Thomas in da house" He cried reaching his hand towards the house.
"Mama will go get it. Where did you leave it Masen?" I watch as the wheels turned in his head, trying to remember where he left his toy.
"I thinks it's in papa's swinging chair" I laughed at his explanation for a recliner and told his I would be right back. I quickly ran up the stairs and into the living room, finding Thomas where he said, in Charlie's lazy boy recliner.
"Here you go, Masen" he smiled grabbing the train out of my hand and blew me a kiss, which I "caught" and pressed to my lips. "Aww, thank you baby" getting into my seat, I typed the address into my phone and popped it in the phone holder on my dashboard.
"Mama?" Masen called. "Hmm" I glanced up in the mirror. "Is Auntie Al gonna be at the place?" I laughed. "Yep! Auntie Al lives there too. I'm not sure if she will be at the house just yet, but she should be there soon" I saw his hair move in the mirror as he nodded.
It took us about 45 minutes to get to our new house, but 45 minutes away from my dad was way better then thousands of miles away. It was one story home with sage green sliding and white accents.
The house had a one car garage, with a long drive way for more parking space. There was a nice porch, where we could set up a little seating area where we could spend time outside.
Our house backed up to a large greenbelt, where there was a soccer goal and a small park. Which I knew me and Masen would spend a lot of time there.
"What do you think, bubba?" I asked Masen as I sit him down, so he could walk to the door. "It Otay" I scoffed, ticking his side. "Just "Otay" huh?" His giggles filled my ears and I could help but laughing along with him.
"Come on, Masen. Let's go see inside" we walked hand and hand to the door, and I lifted the rock by the door finding the hidden key inside.
"Woah" Masen whispered when I opened the door. The home was an open floor plan with beautiful dark brown floors and off white walls, that I knew would be a bitch to keep clean.
The living room was a good space that followed into a open kitchen with dark brown cabinets and white marble counter tops, with all stainless steel appliances. I already loved it and was already excited about cooking in it.
On the left of the kitchen was a small dining area and a little pantry nook. Walking down the hall, you come to mine and Masen bathroom, it was just your typical restroom. The vanity sink was a beautiful grey, with the same counter tops from the kitchen and the bathtub was the perfect size for Masen.
The door across from the bathroom was my room. It was actually a really good size and I knew all my furniture would fit in there nicely and the closet had more space then I needed.
Masen's room was right next to mine of course. Being just a tiny bit smaller then mine with the same size closet, that had space for his larger toys. Alice already said to make a spot for Masen toys in the living room, but I didn't want to flood our house with my sons toys.
Alice and her boyfriend Jaspers room was the last. She took the master bedroom, since I would have to take up so much space in the main part of the house, I thought it would be fair to give them the master bedroom and I really didn't care what room I got. Plus this way I didn't have to share a bathroom with Jasper.
We ended our tour with the laundry room, and I was so damn happy to see this. No more late night trips to the laundromat. Imagine not having a washer and dryer with a newborn! I don't know how much money and hours I spent in that laundromat. I would put Masen in a baby wrap on my chest and do my homework while the laundry did it's thing.
I got Masen set up with his toys and a few snacks from the diaper bag. I also brought my Mac book, so he could watch Thomas while we work and later, Charlie was going to come by later and pick up, Masen and take him back to forks, so he could get in bed at a decent hour.
Going back out to my car, I grabbed my cleaning cabby from the trunk and I got busy deep cleaning the house.
I was on my knees cleaning the bathtub, when Masen came running in, saying someone was knocking at the door. I snapped my cleaning gloves off and followed Masen to the front door.
It was the moving company with our furniture!! I moved to the side letting the two large men inside. I was more then a little nervous about being alone with two men, but thankfully I saw Alice and Jasper pull in behind the truck.
oooOooo~OCF~oooOooo
We worked non stop for a few hours until, I had to stop and make some lunch for Masen. I was cutting up a banana when I heard another car pull up outside and went out there to see what everyone was doing.
Alice was facing me standing in front of a very tall man, that towered over her five foot frame. I could tell just from his back that he had a very nice body, and my goodness does he have a very nice behind.
His reddish hair was shining in the sunshine, making it look almost copper. He had a tattoo going up his left arm all the way to the sleeve of his shirt and I longed to see if it went up high. I licked my dry lips before darting my eyes over to Jasper who was giving me an evil smirk.
I just rolled my eyes and walked over to Jasper, taking Masen out of his arms. "That darlin, is Edward Cullen" Hmm Edward Cullen. I feel like I better hold on tight. Because this man was going to give me a run for my money.
I stood on the porch with Masen and we watched them hug and talk to this Edward man. I for one could not fight my eyes from finding their way back to that copper hair. It looked so soft. I wonder if it was?
"Who's dat Mama?" Masen whispered in my ear. "That's Auntie Al big brother Edward" he took in Edward, his lips going to the side, as he tried to figure him out. "He's super tall mama" I nodded. Very tall indeed.
"Bella, bring your sexy butt over here and meet my brother" I snorted and walked over to Alice, keep Masen on my hip. "Hi I'm Bella Swan. Nice to meet you" my gaze was stuck in his bright green eyes and I couldn't pull myself away. I wanted t drown in them.
"Edward Cullen, nice to meet you too, who's this little dude" Masen tucked his head into my shoulder, not wanting to talk to a stranger. "This is my son, Masen" Edward smiled at him, before moving his eyes back over to me.
"He's beautiful, Bella. How old are you Masen?" I patted Masen bum and tried to nudge him off my shoulder. "I's two" Masen whispered holding up two fingers. I kissed his cheek and smiled at him, feeling proud of my baby boy.
"Wow! I didn't realize that you were a big boy, Nana Esme talked like you were a little baby" Masen's eyes light up when he heard Esme name and he gave Edward a confused look. "You knows my Nana?" He asked. Edward nodded and shot me a wink.
"Yep" he said popping the P. "She is my mom, just like she is Alice's mom" And I think in that moment Edward had won both of us over. And I couldn't say I was mad about it.
Again so sorry for the long wait! I am trying to post at least one chapter a week, it's just been a very long week!!
Next chapter, we will hear from Edward! I know I'm excited.
I hope you enjoyed this chapter. Till next time ~Jade
