Hello lovelies I want to apologize for taking so long to update. I am in the process of moving to another state and have been packing getting ready for the move. And then I got really sick on top of that. :-(

I am doing better now, and the chapters will still be awhile in between, since this next month will be very busy. Just bare with me here.

Chapter 12

Bella POV August

Ah mother and son going through the forest of life, in their times going on in life's work and strife.

Not much time for each dreaming for time flowers are falling, and sunsets glow beaming as the winter is calling.

Today me sweet baby boy is officially three years old! Three years ago today at the wee hours of the morning, I was giving birth to the most precious thing in my life. He heal my heart and soul the minute the doctors placed him on my chest.

He was so warm and squishy. His cheeks were so puffy, I could barely see his brown eyes. His curly hair was all matted and so thick! He was completely perfect and all mine. Masen made everything I went through worth it. I would go though that three times more, if that meant I would still have my son with me.

Today is going to be a bit different from the years before, because this year we get to celebrate my son's birthday with the love of my life. Edward has stepped up and given Masen something that I never was able to. A daddy. Edward is probably the sweetest person on earth and I have no idea how he found us, but he did and I'm not letting him go.

I had been planning this day for three months now and everything was ready. The trampoline park has been booked. We got him the basic party room, because he's been begging for a balloon party, so I just planned on filling the room with all kinds of balloons. Alice has some lady coming to set up balloons arches, I have no idea what she has planned.

Esme baked Masen a cake with balloons all over it. Charlie and Sue were going to bring the pizza and they were going to bring Emmett and Rosalie with them! I couldn't wait to see my brother and my sister in love. Masen requested for me to make chocolate chip cookies, weird I know, but he heard Edward mention that those were his favorite cookies, so I think that's the real reason he wanted them. But for any reason, I made them since he asked so sweetly.

It was quite early this morning and I was not sure why I was even awake. Masen was still snoring quietly in his bed, and Edward warm body was wrapped around mine, our legs tangled together under the sheets. I love our weekends together, after a long week at the school, coming home to him and Masen on Friday was the best and something I could definitely get used too.

Every year my mind somehow always wanders to James. I wonder if he knows about Masen. Does he know his birthdays, does he know we moved from Arizona. Would he ever try to find us. I hope not. That's the last thing my son needs in his life. I know everyone deserves a second chance, I guess. But with James he doesn't need another chance, he knew what he did. Right?

With a sigh I started to unwrap myself from my cuddly boyfriend and with one last kiss to his forehead, I pulled myself away from him. My robe was no where to be found and I could have sworn I had tossed it over my desk chair. I was bending over to look under my desk when I heard a groan.

"Edward!" I gasped, spinning around to face him and effortlessly falling to my ass. "Bella, oh baby" Edward jumped out of bed, rushing over to my side. "I didn't mean to scare you, love" I shrugged, letting him help me up, I wrapped my arms around him, placing a kiss on his lips.

"It's alright. Did I wake you?" He gave me a smirk. "Not really. I just don't sleep well without you in my arms" I smiled, feeling a sense of pride, I guess I was doing something right. "Oh my poor baby." I cooed stroking his face. He had a light beard going on and I had to say it was quite sexy. "Why don't you get back to bed and I will go make us some coffee. Masen will be up soon and I'm sure he'll be a wild thing" Edward laughed, his eyes roamed my body, I was only wearing a pair of panties. I couldn't believe how comfortable I felt in front of him to forget I was pretty much naked.

"I hung your robe behind the door" He pointed to my closed bedroom door where my blue robe was hung. "Oh thank you. I couldn't find it and I thought I left it on the chair" His cheeks went rosy as he rubbed the back of his neck. "Well we sorta tossed it on the floor...Well I tossed it on the floor last night and I didn't want you to lose it in the morning" I am sure my face was blood red, by now as I walked over to the door, grabbing my robe and wrapping it around me.

"Thanks. Now back to bed you" he chuckled, but listened to what I said and went back to my bed. He was only wear black boxers and I couldn't help but check him out, I mean who wouldn't? "Stop eyefucking me, Swan!" Giggling I shut the door, walking down the hall to the kitchen. Thankfully one of my roommates already brewed a pot of coffee, so I carefully made mine and Edwards coffee. I liked cream and sugar with mine, where Edward will just drink it black. Yuck! It's way to bitter for me. I think it's safe to say that Edward is more of a coffee addict than me.

I watched my feet as I walked back to my bedroom, the last thing I wanted to do was spill hot coffee all over myself. I peeked into Masen's room, finding that he was still passed out. He had kicked his blankets on the floor and his hand was clenched around his teddy bear. I just can't believe that he is three years old today, it's just crazy.

Edward was stretched out on the bed with one arm behind his head and the other one holding his iPhone as he scrolled through what i imagined is his emails. "Everything ok?" I asked, handing over his cup. His eyebrows were all scrunched together as he was looking down at his phone. I've learn though the month and half of knowing him that Edward only is on his phone for work or to keep in touch with his family.

"Yeah, just some work stuff. My client is being stubborn and giving me a run for my money" he rolled his eye, tossing his phone on the bed. "But I'm not worried about that. Today is Masen's day" I nodded, a smile spreading over my face. "What's the plan for today, baby?" I watched Edward pull the cup to his lips taking a sip of coffee. I was distracted by the way his Adam's Apple bobbed when he swallowed, I was to suck it into my mouth.

"Earth to Bella" Edward snapped his fingers in front of my face making me jump. "Sorry" I apologize, not really feeling that sorry though. "The plan is to hang around here till one and then we will pack the car and head over to the trampoline park. We also will need to stop at the bakery to get Masey cake" I had sketched the design for his cake. It had all of his favorite things, Thomas the train, spider man and of course balloons, you can't have a balloon party, without a balloon cake.

"That sounds good, listen I wanted to ask you something, and I wanted to give you time to think about it, before you give me your answer" My heart dropped a little bit and I felt a bit anxious. "What's up?" I tried to sound calm when I said that, but my voice wavered slightly.

"it's nothing bad, princess. And you can say no" He used his free hand to wrap around my, rubbing his thumb over my hand, I'm sure to try and calm me some, and it help somewhat. "So my family is very known in the community back home. We have always kept up with large donations each year to various charity and organizations, and with that come a lot of publicity, and Carlisle is a world renowned surgeon, so everyone knows the doctors family" he said rolling his eyes.

"Every year my whole family attends a huge event for one of our favorite charities, which Esme is a co-partner of and we always have to go. It has become a tradition of sorts, because it's held in Chicago all of our family is there, so we have a big get together before the event, we just hang out, drink dance. All the cousins are there and kiddos running about. Anyway! I really want you to come with me and Masen to of course. My parents will be there and so will Alice" I'm sure my eyes were huge by now as I stared at him.

This seems like a big deal! He wants me to met his whole family. Cousin, aunts grandparents. What if they didn't like me? I don't want this to pull me and Edward apart, if his family doesn't think I'm good enough for him. "I would get to show you around where I grew up! I'm sure Esme would watch Masen so we could go on a date, and my Nonna would definitely watch Masen the night of the ball" I gasped.

"Im sorry? Did you say the ball. Like in Cinderella type ball?" He laughed. "No Bella! It's not that serious, it's a ball because most of the women will wear ball gowns and I'll be in a monkey suit, for sure" Now that's appealing, Edward in a suit. Yummy. "Can I think about it, I mean Edward I don't have the money for a plane tickets and I certainly don't own a ball gown" Edward scoffed and rolled his eyes.

"Bella, I would pay for you and Masen. I would cover everything Princess, you know that" I jumped on the bed and started pacing the floor. "Edward, you can not just pay for everything!" I said throwing my hands up. "It's always. Bella I've got, Bella let me pay for that, Bella I've got the money! I know you do Edward, but I want to feel like I am putting something into this relationship, it can't just all be you"

I love this man with my whole heart, but I am starting to hate feeling like a poor single mom. "Bella! I do not think that you are a poor single mom" Shit, I said that out loud. "You listen and listen good, Isabella Swan" Edward said sternly, his hands on my upper arms.

"You bring so much to this relationship, You are the most caring, loving and beautiful woman. I love you so much and what's the point of having money if I don't have anyone to share it with? You and Masen, you guys are my everything and I would rather have you, then to have all the money in the world" He used the pads of his fingers to wipe away tears that had fallen.

"if me bringing up money is hurting you so much, then I will stop. I just love spoiling my two favorite people and I hope you will let me continue you that, but I will respect your decision Princess" I sighed, this is silly of me, and I'm making a big deal out of nothing.

"I am sorry, Edward. I am not used to someone taking care of me, helping me take care of my son. I didn't come from money and I'm not used to having a person in my life, who has quite a lot of it apparently. But I will try, but please just don't go crazy ok. If we decide to go to Chicago I will let you pay for the flights, but!" I ended with, as his eyes went bright. "I will be paying for at least paying for our luggage, because I will have to bring one for me and Masen, plus a carry on" I trailed off. There was so many things that I would need to go beforehand.

"Wait, so does this mean you guys will go?" He asked with a huge smile, how could I say no to that. "I guess. But I will need your he-" my words caught in my throat as Edwards lips pressed against mine. "You will not regret this Bella! It will be our first family trip!" He was started to sound more like his mother and sister as he started rattling off about all the fun things we will do.

"When is this anyway? I will need to let the school know what days I need off and Masen daycare will let me not pay for the time he's gone, if I give enough notice" Masen will probably need new clothes and shoes, if he doesn't already get some today. I needed Alice, she will tell me exactly what to do.

"it's not until October. We will leave on the 18th and fly back home on the 26th. So eight days in total" Man eight days, that's a little longer then I thought ti would be, but I will work it out. Plus all of the Fridays I work late has to add up to something.

"So were really gonna do this? You're gonna come meet my family" I nodded, my cheeks were hurting from smiling so big, I don't think, I've ever seen Edward this happy. "We are going to have so much fun Edward! Just wait till we tell Masen, he's never flown before! How exciting" Our first family trip.

Our day passed by quickly. Me and Edward spent an hour cuddling and talking about our trip, and then Maser woke up and came charging into our bed, wanting to get in on the cuddle party.

Once we got out of bed, Masen and Edward helped me make a huge birthday breakfast we even got Mase a small cupcake for him to blow out this morning. Alice and Jasper came and joined us, but Allie has been under the weather here lately, and barely touched a thing at breakfast, which is so unlike my pixie best friend. She eats like a grown man! I have actually seen her put more food away then Jasper.

Edward watched Masen, so I could take a shower and he even got Masen ready for me so I could enjoy some alone time. He is just the sweetest man. Masen was wearing a Thomas the train shirt that had the number 3 embroidered on it along with his name. I ordered it from an Etsy shop and Masen just loves it! I didn't even show him till the day of the party, because I knew he would just go crazy over it and never want to take it off, I couldn't have the shirt get ruined before the party even started.

Masen shirt was a baby blue and Edward paired it with some brown shorts, and I wanted to match Masen, because I'm a mom and moms think this stuff is fun. But anyway I chose a sundress in the same color as Masen's shirt. And even Edward took one of Jaspers shirts to match us and I think we all looked so cute!

By two o'clock we were all packed into Edwards Volvo, I had two Tupperware's filled with chocolate chip cookies and I also made my magic bars since they were such a big hit at the family dinner. The trampoline park will supply pizza as part of the party package, but I still bought some chips and dips, that the adults could enjoy as well.

Masen was bouncing in his seat and was having the hardest time being patient. I understand your birthday is an exciting day, but he's kinda driving me and Edward nuts. He has been asking all day "is it time for my party. Are we gonna go to the jumping place yet. Mama can we go nooooowwwww" I honestly thought we would have a melt down, when we stopped at the bakery, but since we were getting his cake, he was fine with it.

This was my first experience with this bakery, and I'm not going to lie I was very nervous on how this cake would turn out. But Esme said it was one of the best and I trust her opinion, probably more then anyone else. Edward has said that his office used this place too, for a Christmas party one year. Why an office would buy a cake for Christmas is beyond me, but Edward said it was good cake.

I left the bouncing Masen in the car with Edward and I went in the bakery alone. Inside I was met with a very small older woman wearing a big smile. She had her gray hair piled up in a messy bun and looked way to young to have gray hair. "Hello, how can I help you?" She asked me, crossing her arms on top of the counter and lean against it.

"Hi. I am here to pick up a birthday cake. The name is Bella Swan" She nodded, turning around and headed to the back of the store. I looked around at the cute little shop. There was a few tables and chairs out, and some beautiful wedding cakes that were out for deco. It definitely made my mind wander. Will I be back here eventually to pick my own wedding cake?

"Ok dear, here it is" She place a large white box on the counter top. "I was not able to get the exact blue color for the train, but hopefully you will still like it" she lifted the box and I couldn't help but gasp! It was perfect. She had wrote Masen name so beautifully and Thomas looked great! "Oh this is perfect! My son is going to love this. Thank you"

She closed the box and placed a sticker to keep it closed. "Oh I am so happy to hear. I hope he has a wonderful 3rd birthday" I smiled, pulling the box closer. "Thank you. And how much do I owe you" she shook her head. "Nothing darling. Mrs Cullen called and covered everything." Oh Esme, she is always so giving. "Oh, well thank you then. Hope you have a wonderful rest of your day"

When I walked back out to the car Edward was not in the front seat and for a moment my heart dropped and I felt panic raise in my chest, but as I walked to the trunk I saw my handsome boyfriend in the backseat with my son, playing a game on his phone. "Everything ok?" I asked, opening Masen's door. "Yep! Masen just got a little lonely, so I wanted to come sit back here with him" I smiled at him, pressing a soft kiss to him lips.

"Well we should get going, or else we will be late and the show can't start without the birthday boy!" Masen face lit up as he started pushing Edward out of the back seat. "Hurry! My friend are gonna be theres" Edwards laughter rang through the car, making me smile at my boys.

Edward moved back to his seat and we made our way to the trampoline park. We ended up pulling in right behind Carlisle and Esme, so we just parked right behind their shiny Audi A8. It was such a beautiful car. Carlisle just bought it a few weeks ago and I can see how Edward has been eyeing the car. Edwards car is a Volvo S60R from the year 2006, so it's probably high time for him to get a new car, but it still runs so smoothly and he said that the cars never done anything wrong to him, so why get rid of it?

"There is our birthday boy!" Carlisle yelled, crouching down to give Masen a big hug. "I am 3 Grampy!" We all laughed and Carlisle gave him a shocked face, exclaiming that he thought Masen was only two years old today. "Nooooo me is 3" Masen held up three chubby fingers giving his Grampy a toothy grin. "You hear that Nana, he is three years old, can you believe it?" Esme shook her hand, picking up Masen placing him on her hip.

"I just can't believe that Grampy. I still see my cute little cherub who couldn't even hold his own bottle" Masen cheek's flush as he looked to Edward and rolled his eyes. "Nannaaa" Esme just kissed his temple, asking him if he's had a good birthday so far.

Edward stacked the cake box on top of the Tupperware's, so I slung the backpack over my shoulder and grabbed Masen gifts from me and Edward. Looking over at Carlisle he was holding a large box and was struggling as he tried to grab the last few gift bags. "Carlisle! Let me help you with that" I rushed forward, grabbing the gift bags, sliding it over my wrist. "Thank you, Bella" he chuckled, he managed to free a hand to push the button that closed the trunk.

The workers were so helpful with the process and happily led us to his party room. The room was basic with plain red walls, but Alice had complete out done herself with the balloons! There was a HUGE balloon arch against the wall and she had pinned up a Thomas the train back drop behind it for pictures. On the other side by the present table was another balloon sculpture that had a lit up sign attached that said Masen. It was so beautiful and I couldn't help but tear up as I watch Masen take in the room.

"Alice! This is incredible! How did you come up with this?" I rushed forward wrapping her up in my arms. I was feeling a bit emotional about all this and I hoped she didn't notice my teary eyes. "You know me, I love Pinterest! I just showed the lady what I wanted and she did that exactly and then some"

"It is so beautiful, Mary Alice. You did wonderful as always" Esme praised her daughter, following my lead and giving her a hug. "Thanks mom, I used the team you suggested. Ness was great and so easy to work with" Esme smiled, nodding her head. "She is! I loved working with Ness, such a lovely young woman"

I left them to chat, moving over to the gift table place everything I had on there. Edward sit the tubs of cookies and bars next to the pizza and drinks, so I popped those open where people could enjoy them. Masen was busy trying to convince Edward to go jump with him, but I could see that Edward was unsure if they could go off now or if they needed to hang around. Wanted to help out my frazzled boyfriend, I walked over placing my hand on his shoulder.

"Go ahead and take him sweetheart, my family should be here soon and I want to be able to hide them from Mase. Maybe your father will join you two" Edward smiled pressing a kiss on my cheek. "Will do, love. Don't have to much fun without me" Carlisle slung Masen up on her shoulders and Edward followed closely behind. I still can't believe how many people my son had to love him. To celebrate him today. I never thought I would be able to give him that, and now he has that and so much more.

Slowly one by one the party guest showed up, Masen had a few little friends from daycare show. One of those friends being Ryan who just loves to put all kinds of questions into my sons head. But Masen just had to invite him. Soon I saw the chestnuts brown hair that matched mind show. "Dad!" I threw my arms around him giving him a tight squeeze I felt another pair of arms wound around us and squeeze the life out of me.

"Belly!" My bear of a brother cried out. "Emmy, can't...breathe" I gasped, he released me some, but kept his arms around me. "Have you been eating Isabella? You're much to small squirt" I rolled my eye pushing Emmett off me. "Where is Rose?" Emmett sighed. "Her mom, she's not doing well and Rosie is there with her" I gave him a sad smile.

Rosalie's mother Lydia is such a kind soul, Rose was her baby, she had her late in life. She was almost 40 years old and Rose was the shock of their life. Rose's father Cohan passed away when she was only seven years old, Leaving Lydia to raise Rosalie alone. Rose has a sister name Rain and she is married with three sons and is quite pregnant at the moment, which means that Rosalie is having to help her mother all by herself. Lydia started having liver issues a few years back and in the last nine months she got increasingly worse and has declined a transplant.

"Oh I'm sorry to hear that. I'll have to give her a call tomorrow" He smiled, tossing a huge arm over my shoulder. "I'm sure she would like that. Now where is my nephew!" Shaking my head, I pulled him over to the food table to keep him distracted for a little bit while I went to speak with Charlie and Sue.

"Thank you guys for coming, Masen will be so excited to see you guys" Sue scoffed. "Bella of course we came! We wouldn't miss Masen birthday for the world!" Charlie agreed with his wife, telling me how I'm a worry wart. "So listen dad, I have something to tell you, and I don't want you to get all upset about it. I am really happy and I want you to be happy with me" My dad cocked his eyebrows, giving me "the look"

"Bells you never do anything without completely overthinking it so I'm sure whenever you are about to tell me will be fine. Just spit it out kiddo" I sighed, my dad sometimes knew me better then I knew myself, but I guess that's what parents do. "I am seeing someone" I blurted out. "Your What!?!" I jumped at Emmett's booming voice quickly turning around to quite him.

"Hush Emmett!" I smacked him on the arm right as Sue popped him in the back of the head, telling me to stop being such a caveman and to let his sister speak. "Thank you Sue. Like I was saying, before someone so rudely interrupted" I said, giving Em a pointed look. "I have been dating a wonderful man, who loves me and I love him! He treats me like a princess and he love Masen like his own son. He is here today and I wanted you guys to meet him"

"Thats all I needed to hear baby girl. Your an adult and I know you wouldn't put Masen in harms way. I for one can't wait to meet the lucky fella" Giving my dad a big hug, I turned around to face my big brother. Emmett's face was an unhealthy shade of red and he had squashed the cookies that was in his hand. Em was who I was truly worried about. He saw me the night James did what he did. He had to pick me up. He saved me and I can understand him being slightly over protective.

"Bella I love you and if you trust this boy then I will too. But if he hurts one hair on your head, I'll kill him! Same goes for Masen. I won't. I can't see you broken again." Awww, my big bear. "Emmy" I said tearfully. "He's a good man Em. His name is Edward, he's actually, um Alice's big brother" I think that helped settle everyone a bit. My dad and Emmett knew how much the Cullen's have helped me over the years and they love them just because of how they love me and my son.

I pulled out my phone to text Edward asking him to bring Masen to the party room so he could eat and see his big surprise.

Bella: Hey can you bring the birthday boy in here, he need to eat and his big surprise is here!!

Edward:Yeah we'll be right there. 3

tucking my phone back into my purse I set to making Edward and Masen a plate with a bit of everything. I loved doing little things for Edward, like fixing him a plate or having his work clothes ironed and ready when he stayed the weekends, he was always so appreciative and it just made me so happy. My dad and Emmett kept a close eye on the door, waiting for Masen and Edward I'm sure.

My boys walked in both red faced and sweaty, clearly having a fun time. "Mama! Me and Eddie jumped SUPER high" Masen exclaimed reaching out for me. I placed their plates next to mine, and scooped up my sweaty boy. "That's so cool! Are you having fun, baby?" He nodded, his eyes moving to the gift table and widened. "Uncle Emmy!!" He screamed. Masen started wiggling wanting to get to his uncle.

Placing him on his feet he took off like a rocket into his uncles open arms. "Mad dog!" Emmett ruffled his hair, lifting him high in the air before dropping him back down. "How you get here Emmy?" Edward came up behind me, wrapping an arm around my stomach and smile at the two boys in front of us. "Dude I flew in a plane. You didn't think I would forget your birthday did you? Mad dog" Masen shook his head, giving Emmett another big hug. "Nope not one times" Emmett laughed settling Mase on his feet. "Go off to your mama and eat. Once your done we can go jump!"

Masen went off with a smile and sit down by his friends. "If you eat a whole pizza slice and five carrots, you can have ice cream with your cake!" I explained to Masen sitting his plate in front of him. Edward leaned over me and set a cup of juice in front of him as well. "I will Mama, I a hungry boy"

Seeing as Masen was going to be occupied for a while, I figured now was a good time as any to introduce Edward to my family. "Come on. I want you to meet my dad" Edward gave me a smile, but it really was more of a grimace. "Daddy, this is Edward my boyfriend, Edward this is my dad Charlie and my stepmom Sue" Edward put on his best smile and shook both their hands. "It's a pleasure to meet you Chief Swan, Mrs Swan. Bella talks very highly of you" I squeezed his free hand wanting him to know that I was here.

"Same to you son, and please call me Charlie" Edward visibly relaxed as he shot me a small smirk. "What a handsome man you are, I can see why our Bella is quite smitten with you, and like my husband please call me Sue, honey" Glaring at my smiling stepmother, I felt my face rush red, so I tucked my face into Edwards chest trying to hide from the stares.

"Hey man, I'm Bella's brother Emmett. If you hurt my baby sister or my nephew, I'll kill you with my bare hands, you got it?" I rolled my eyes. "Just ignore him, that's what I do" My sweet Edward just chuckled, shaking hands with my brother: "I would pull my own heart out of my chest, before I hurt Bella or Masen. They are my whole world" Emmett scoffed, but his big smile gave him away. He liked him!! Win for team Bedward!

Masen ended up eating everything on his plate and went back for another slice of pizza, before he pulled Edward, Charlie and Emmett off to go jump with him. Sue and Esme hit it off right away, talking about future Christmas plans and the hopes for a wedding and more grandbabies. We are a long way off from that one, but I left them to day dream.

I spent the next two hours jumping and falling on my ass, but it made Masen happy and that's all I strive to do. Before I knew it all the gifts had been opened and slowly the kiddos were start to get tried. Masen seemed to have really enjoyed his time so far and that made me so happy, this was the first time we had a real party for him and It couldn't have turned out better.

Masen POV

This is the best birthday EVER!! Mama made me my favorite breakfast to start and Eddie spent the whole day playing with me. Eddie even helped me get ready for my big boy birthday and he didn't made me comb my hair like mama does.

First Mama let Ryan come to my birthday and then my uncle Emmy flew on a big airplane to come and see me. I got to jump with Daddy and Emmy. Mama even came and jumped with us. Nana and Grampy had got me the bike I wanted and my daddy said he would let me help him puts it together! Ryan got me a hot wheels racer track like he has at his house and he even gots me more hot wheels.

I couldn't have asked for a better day and then it got even better when Mommy said it was time for cakey! I wanted Eddie and Mama to stand beside me when they did the singing part, i always get the butterflies in my tummy when everyone looks at me.
