Izuku stopped when he spotted a fountain, decaying in the center of a pool of water; the water being fed by a waterfall. He noted that there were overgrown lizards swimming in the water, occasionally popping onto the land to keep a lookout. Izuku saw a strange blue shimmer behind the waterfall.

He had made it this far already, only needing to kill a few Bokoblins on the way. These lizard creatures were new to him, and he was curious to find out how strong they were.

"Maybe that's a Shrine?" He marked it for later. He really wanted his memories back, and every minute wasted getting Shrines or killing lizards was another moment without him knowing who he was.

He resumed walking along the path until he came to a pair of gates that looked like the picture.

Paya had to stop Izuku before he went too far from town to tell him that Impa forgot to give him something. She had unlocked the Camera on the Sheikah Slate for him, which came with pictures that Lady Impa told him where locations his memories where at.

He examined the picture and closed his eyes, attempting to look deep inside his mind for where he had seen that gateway before...

Uraraka exited through the gateway, clearly defeated. There were other people there as well, along with Izuku. Uraraka explained to the group that she still had yet to unlock her special abilities. The tall woman was telling her that she shouldn't give up yet when the ground shook and clouds gathered in a swirling mass in the distance. The bird man took to the skies, and came back to report that Calamity Shiguraki had indeed returned...

Izuku didn't like the way that one had turned out. Uraraka was so upset and the only thing Izuku did was stand there uselessly. Izuku slid the Sheikah Slate back onto his belt, then started back towards town.

He had gotten the Shrine on the way back, and defeated those lizards as well. He made sure to get a picture of them so he could ask about them later. When he arrived back in town, he headed straight to Impa's home to tell her the news about his memory.

"I see..." She said once Izuku finished explaining the memory to her. "It's wonderful news that you remember that, at least; even if it's not pleasant."

Izuku nodded. "What else did you want to tell me?"

"I wanted to tell you about the Champions. They are the four people in your memory that you did not recognize." She signaled a hand to a mural behind her depicting a strange cloud-like being, Uraraka, himself, an army of those mechanical monsters, and four large beings in the corners.

"1,000 years ago, four mechanical warriors were created. They are the Divine Beasts. The Guardians were made as well. The King of Hyrule then knew that the Divine Beasts were powerful and, if brought into the wrong hands, could bring destruction. They were buried, along with the Guardians. But, when the Calamity was revived, we did not have enough strength to fight it off alone. We unburied the Divine Beasts and the Guardians and went to face the Calamity. But you were bested, and Uraraka went to fight the Calamity alone."

"And that's where she is now; in Hyrule Castle."

Impa nodded, the decorations hanging from the brim of her hat doing so as well. "Yes."

"You want me to save her, don't you?"

"I was not finished."

"S-sorry."

"The Divine Beasts were piloted by four worthy souls. Toru of the Zora was to pilot Divine Beast Vah Ruta, Eijiro of the Gorons was to pilot Divine Beast Vah Rudania, Katsuki of the Rito was to pilot Divine Beast Vah Medoh, and Momo of the Gerudo was to pilot Divine Beast Vah Naboris. When Uraraka was taken by the Calamity, the Divine Beasts were taken over, trapping the four Champions inside of them."

"Oh, that's bad. Those are definitely the wrong hands."

"Yes; and I want you to free the Divine Beasts. It would make the fight against the Calamity easier for you."

"I see. Is that all, Lady Impa?"

"Please, just call me Impa." She reached into a capartment near her cushion and brought out a blur shirt. "I believe this is yours."

Izuku accepted it and put it on. There was something familiar about the outfit.

"That's the Champion's Tunic. You wore that into battle 100 years ago." She held out her wrinkly hands. "May I see your Sheikah Slate for a moment?"

Izuku handed it to her. She put four markers on the map and handed it back to him. One was nearby, just a bit up north. He slipped it back onto his belt.

"Those are where the Divine Beasts are, along with the races that the Champions were."

"So there are towns nearby?"

She nodded. "There is another town east of here who was studying the Sheikah Slate. If you have any questions, you should go to the Tech Lab there."

"Thank you, Impa."

"Take care."

Izuku went back to find the tower, for he had overlooked it on his way there. After getting the tower, he spotted a Shrine. He paraglided from the tower as close to the Shrine as he could manage, and walked the rest of the way.

After finishing the Shrine, he decided to stop by the strange building near it to stock up before heading to the next village named "Hateno."

There was a man with a large beetle-shaped backpack. Izuku went over and poked him to get his attention.

"Uwwa!" He turned to face izuku. "Oh look, a customer!" He pulled down a little desk from his bag. "I'm Sero! Is there anything you're looking for, or are you selling? I'll buy aaaaaanything!"

"I don't think I have any money, sorry. Or anything to sell, for that matter..."

"Oh. Well, I'll be traveling around to all the different stables around Hyrule. If you pick up anything next time you see me, let me know!"

Izuku headed to the inside of the Stable. "He was nice-"

He spotted a blond-haired kid sitting alone on a chair by a table inside the stable. He was reading a book about monsters, as Izuku saw from taking a closer look. Was the child alone? Where were his parents?

"H-hi," Izuku attempted at a conversation, sitting across from the child.

He looked up from the book without moving his head. "Hello, stranger. I am not interested in talking to you unless you want directions."

"Are you reading about monsters?"

He stopped reading and lowered the book. "Why, yes; I am. Is that an issue?"

Izuku shook his head. "I actually was hoping to find out about one I saw." Izuku took the Sheikah Slate off his belt and showed him the picture of the lizard he saw.

"That area looks like the abandoned fountain by Mount Lanayru. What were you doing there? It's been far too cold there lately. Even with a torch, you'll freeze."

Izuku wanted to tell the child what he was doing there, but realized the kid might not believe him. "Could you tell me what that lizard-thing is, please?"

"You've never seen a Lizalfos before? They are less common than Bokoblins, but still show up in a lot of areas. They mostly live near water, and they use boomerangs mostly as weapons. There can be archers and other weapon users as well, but only if they cannot get their hands on boomerangs."

"Huh."

"They are good for getting tails and horns from for elixirs. There are different types of Lizalfos; fire and ice breath, blue, and sliver from what I've seen. Fire breath Lizalfos live in the Eldin region, and Ice breath live in the Herbra and Lanayru regions. They are quick on their feet, so they can be hard to land an attack on. If you shoot them in the face, that should stun them for a moment so you can attack them. They also use their tongues to attack from a distance as well."

"You know a lot." Izuku slid the Sheikah Slate back onto his belt.

"I'm studying monsters for a reason." He grabbed his book. "Any more monsters you wish to know about?"

"I don't have any more pictures, sorry."

"Then buzz off." He opened his book back up and resumed reading. Izuku traveled to the Kakariko village Shrine, which was just a battle test, and started heading out for Hateno.

Author note from CaramelPhoenix: I finally got onto introducing a party member! Unfortunately, it takes a bit for him to become a party member, but he does. I thought Deku wouldn't want to travel alone, so why not add some stuff in? After all, this is a re-telling (with MHA and Mario characters included).
