Mackenyu's jet wasn't any less fancier than Alman Kido's.
Wine and desserts were served, but Saori hardly touched them.
"You don't like sweets?" Mackenyu asked, drinking his glass of red wine.
"No," Saori replied, and changed the subject. "Look, I like to apologize for Seiya's behavior that day. He shouldn't be that rude to you."
"I know," Mackenyu shook it off. "I have to admit, I was taken aback by him at first but I chose to forgive him."
"Really?" Saori was surprised by his generosity.
"Oh yes," Mackenyu put down his wine glass. "Because I saw how much he loves you."
"I beg your pardon?" Saori couldn't believe what she was hearing.
Mackenyu laughed. "Seiya's biggest flaw is that he loves you too much. No matter how badly you treat him, he sticks by your side. He sure has patience."
"You don't know what you're talking about."
"Yes I do, because I am Seiya."
"Excuse me?" Now she was really freaking out, especially by Mackenyu's strong resemblance to Seiya.
"No, I mean I am a guy like Seiya," Mackenyu explained himself. "If you don't mind me asking, is your character Sagittarius based on Seiya?"
"You read my book?"
"I did. Now don't take this too hard but honestly, your book sucks."
"What?!"
"Girls may like it, but not us guys. There's not a lot of men out there like Seiya."
"First, let me make one thing clear: no one in that book is based on Seiya. I didn't even met Seiya when I wrote that book. Second, Seiya is my bodyguard, nothing else."
Mackenyu chuckled. "A suggestion: don't lose him. It's not every day that you can find a guy like him."
"Okay, enough!" Saori stood abruptly. "One more word out of you, I'm going to ask you to turn this jet around. I'm coming to see the house, not to talk about Seiya."
"Why so defensive?"
"I am not being defensive!" Saori said passionately, swinging up her arms, completely wasn't aware that Aphrodite was coming behind her with more refreshments.
The back of her hand striked Aphrodite directly on the nose, knocking him out.
"Oh no!" Mackenyu panicked for a good reason – Aphrodite was their one and only pilot who can land the jet.
"I…I'm so sorry," Saori knelt down and tried to wake Aphrodite by all means, but to no avail.
Hours went by, and Aphrodite remained unconscious.
"This jet is on autopilot, right?" Saori asked nervously.
"I assume," Mackenyu replied.
"He assumed correctly," a familiar voice said. Saori looked up and was shocked to find Alman Kido before her. "While there is autopilot, but not for landing."
"Dad," Saori was out of words. "What are you doing here? Where have you been all this time?"
"Things have been rough in Russia," Alman Kido said solemnly.
"As things have been rough at home," Saori tried to hold back her tears. "I have so much to tell you. There was a flood in the house–"
"Well, it could've been blown up."
"Mother died."
"You didn't kill her."
"But you weren't fair to her either," Saori called him out. "What were you doing with this lady named Natasha? You married one woman but loved another."
"Now look who's talking," Alman Kido sat down next to Mackenyu. "You too could've easily married a man for the sake of convenience rather than love. Had that Greek attorney popped the question, wouldn't you say yes? Under the impression that he can provide you protection and safety? But what about that boy codenamed Pegasus?"
"I–"
"As Queen Helen of Sparta, who would you choose?"
Mackenyu was nodding. "She needs to figure this out, Mr. Kido. Or this story is not going anywhere."
"You read my book, Dad?" Saori ignored Mackenyu.
"I did, and I have to say, it sucks," Alman Kido said. "You need to grow up and stop dreaming about a knight who can save you."
"Well you know what, I have," Saori said. "I have grown up a lot since you left. I know when to call an attorney and when not to. I know how to stand up to bullies and who to reach out to if needed. You have no idea what I've been through. In fact, I should've told you, I'm moving out of your house. I hate what you did to Madame Guraad. You cheated on her, and did you even know that she died from a drug overdose?"
Both Alman Kido and Mackenyu only looked at her.
"You know what? We need to figure out how to land this jet," Saori went on. "In case you have forgotten, our pilot Aphrodite is out and if we don't land this jet, we'll crash and die."
"Oh I know," Alman said. "Like how my plane crashed in Siberia."
"Siberia?"
"Yes, Saori, I went to Siberia because I found my lost son," Alman told her. "Natasha is your real mother, and I loved you as a daughter because I loved her. Remember blood is thicker than water."
"What about Tatsumi?"
"He is hanging in there," Alman said, standing up. "I'm happy that you can be on your own. Don't repeat the same mistake I made. If you love that boy, go for him, especially if he loves you."
He went to the jet's door and opened it. A bright light flashed and the next thing Saori knew, the jet had landed.
She climbed out of the jet and found Mackenyu playing with a three year-old boy. That boy had wine-red hair, giggling happily as Mackenyu picked him up.
"You have a son?" Saori asked him.
"No, we have a son," he laughed. "I told you, I am Seiya."
The little boy said, "Mom has bad luck."
"She does, but she always finds ways to get herself out of trouble. She is the goddess of wisdom."
Saori found herself in bed; it was the same bed she slept in since Alman Kido took her in.
Only that she wasn't alone. Someone was sleeping next to her, and she knew it was Seiya.
The whole thing was a dream – the actor Mackenyu, the house on the island, Aphrodite, the jet, and Alman Kido.
But it felt so real.
"You're awake, princess," Seiya spoke; and it was still dark. "You've been tossing and turning all night."
Saori turned to face him. Slowly, she moved closer to him until she found herself in his arms. Not another word was exchanged between the two, and Seiya held her protectively until sunrise.
Morning came.
As he was getting ready to head to the law firm, Shura saw his phone rang. He raised an eyebrow after seeing who's calling.
"What did you do?" That's the first question he asked upon answering.
"I didn't break any law," Aiolia said. "You have a minute?"
"Sure."
"You know the case that got assigned to me as first chair? Well, it's getting closed. Long story short my client has been using the drug sold by a drug ring leader named Madame Guraad. That drug rendered him delusional. Mu and I are able to make a deal with the prosecutor. If my client agrees to cooperate and help with the investigation, he will get a shorter sentence with mental health treatment."
"Did you say Madame Guraad?"
"Yeah."
"You know that she's dead?"
"That I know. What a small world – she's that girl's stepmother. It wasn't just Madame Guraad herself. She got a team with her drug ring business and some interesting clients who work in the law enforcement."
"Yikes."
"So, the good news is that my client is not getting the death penalty."
"What's the bad news?"
"Well, uhm…Lyfia got sick."
"Your girlfriend?"
"Actually my fiancee, and it's not any type of sickness. It's the one lasts nine months…" He stopped right there.
"Aiolia," Shura said with disappointment. "That day, when Aiolus went to the FBI with Milo to help that girl, you insisted on going with him, worrying that Aiolus can't think straight because of that girl. I had to be there to keep you away from your brother. We ended up looking like a bunch of fools in front of that FBI officer. Now I don't know exactly what's the story between Aiolus and Saori Kido, but I know this – you are the one who obviously can't think straight when it comes to your girl!"
"We need to find a place for our wedding venue ASAP," Aiolia told him. "Every place we called is booked."
"Am I even invited?"
"Yes!"
"I'll think of something."
"Do me a favor, please don't tell my brother about–"
"That you are going to tell him yourself. I'm not shouldering the burden of explaining how it happened."
