Location Unknown, Time Unknown
In front of Angela's amber eyes were the hazel eyes of a monster from her past, one she unknowingly had only seen a few days prior. Violent images of that day from eight years ago rushed through her mind at a lightning pace. Angela's fear was justified and her theories were now, unequivocally, correct. Hana Song was alive and standing right in front of Angela wearing that same sweet, innocent smile she always had when they were in school together. Other than a bit of height and some muscle, Hana hadn't physically changed at all. It was as if time stood still for her all these years while everyone else around her changed. Even the nickname she called her, "Angie" was something she hadn't heard from anyone since her days in school. Hana leaned in closer and looked right into Angela's eyes, injecting a further sense of dread and worry into her.
"You've changed a bit, on the outside at least" said Hana, glancing over Angela's immobile body. "How the tables have turned though! Eight years ago you were the one rescuing someone, and now, you're the one needing to be rescued! Funny how that works out, huh Angie?" Hana said with a chuckle as the other woman in the room walked out towards its horizon, though to Angela she had no idea such a place existed in Tokyo. A multi faceted, state of the art physical experience exhibition with temperature controlled OLED panels, wind vents that replicated the outdoor breeze perfectly, haptic feedback from the floor made it feel like water was truly touching her. As she finally managed to take in her surroundings, the other woman opened a door that broke the illusion of the room; the endless horizon that stretched the sea that they were in was simply just the work of the OLED panels. A clever trick, thought Angela, but her thoughts were short lived. The woman nodded to Hana, who bowed back to her. Angela and Hana were now alone, and they had a lot of catching up to do. Hana slowly brought her hands behind Angela's neck and undid the gag that was keeping her from talking. After a gasp for air, Angela looked up at Hana with venom in her eyes, hoping to sting the young Korean in her heart.
"Heh, so you were alive this whole time. I knew something was up with those DNA results all those years ago. Tell me, Hana, how did you really manage to fake your own death so convincingly that even the best coroner in Tokyo confirmed the corpse to be yours?"
"Hehehe, hahahahahah! Angela Ziegler, I thought you were a smart woman, no? Hahahaha, oh man, YOU couldn't figure it out?" Hana continued to laugh.
"We know about Jiyeon but we don't know-"
"You don't know "why", right? Heh, I suppose the Archaeon was more the Shimada Institutes field of work, you never really went into that much did you, hmm? That's okay Angie, you don't have the guts to accept reality, so let me spell it out for you bit by bit, not that it really matters anymore since by the time I'm done with you…" Hana said, taking her jacket off and rolling up her sleeves;
…"you probably won't remember a thing, heehee!"
Break Room, Shimada Institute, Shinjuku, 16:00 PM
An awkward silence hung over Jonathan Cujoh and Kiriko Kamori as each second that passed seemed like an eternity. The days events had been heavy on them, and it seemed like things were only going to get worse. Kiriko's anger at the Shimada's nearly reached a boiling point, but the whereabouts and safety of her mother was her number one concern. Jonathan also had what felt like a million things of his own to worry about. No matter what way he tried to approach it, the matter of fact was that somehow Hana was not dead and was in fact very much alive. Angela was now in grave danger. Kiriko was dragged into his mess by no fault of her own. He cursed himself for even thinking about following Hana's letter.
I…can't believe how things have gone today. It's a complete nightmare, from top to bottom. Kiriko and the Shimada's…why do they always have to clean up my messes after me?
"Jonathan" Kiriko called out, snapping him out of his thoughts. "I…I'm sorry for not being there to protect you back at Hanamura, I-"
"No, Kiriko, this is all my fault. I shouldn't have even suggested going to Hanamura considering that letter-"
"Wait, what?" Kiriko said, shocked. "You went to Hanamura…despite there being a big fucking HUGE warning flag saying "hey uhh your overly obsessed psycho ex who faked her death, tried to brainwash you, rape you and kill your friends is gonna be there"? Dude, are you fucking stupid?!" Kiriko lashed out at him, her own frustrations now overflowing onto him, a small tear forming in the corner of her eye. "Do you have any idea, ANY fucking idea what I'm going through right now? My mom could be dead!"
"Angela is in the same boat as Asa is right now, Kiriko-"
"It's not the same-"
"But it is! She's my best friend, I've known her for about fifteen years now, Kiriko. Sure, she's not my mom or anything but there are times that she kinda has been like a mother to me. She helped me through a lot when all that shit with Hana first happened, you have no idea what she's really done for me, and Hanzo too."
"Pfft, the Shimada shithead's not worth a damn, dude. He fucking bailed out on my mom and I when we needed him the most, all so he could play pretend husband for some bigwig corporate dude in Thailand, Niran or something like that, but that didn't fuckin' work out now, did it? Noooo he came running back to Tokyo and kept running away from us. No wonder the Hashimoto took over Hanamura in his absence."
"What did he do exactly to get on your bad side so hard? What was it he ran away from?"
"He used to run intel missions for the United Nations with my dad, before my dad fell into debt with Sojiro Hashimoto. He had to run from what the UN were doing in regards to the Hashimoto and the Archaeon project, despite the fact that there's only two people in the world who actually have undergone the Archaeon procedure. It's weird, Jonathan. Somehow, in the most fucked up way possible, they both met because they both fucked you! Hahahah, dude, that's kinda fucked up and funny at the same time, hahahaha"
"Glad you find this all very funny, Kiriko…" he said, looking away from her with a tinge of sadness painted onto his face. Kiriko's laughter and ruckus slowly ceased, noticing Jonathan's current state of despair. Ah fuck, I did it again. I made fun of someone's situation again despite my own fucking shitty situation. This is why Aki doesn't talk to you anymore, Kiriko!
"I…I'm sorry, Jonathan, really, I just…with everything going on right now, things are kinda tense y'know? I didn't mean to make fun of you or anything, I just need to take my mind off of thi-"
"It's fine, just…think before you speak Kiriko. Words can have such a huge impact on the way people think and feel about you" he said, slowly looking back into her eyes, her body now sitting mere inches away from his own. Guilt rose up from within Kiriko, while a familiar as of late fuzziness came from within Jonathan.
"I….I'm sorry" she said, bringing her face ever so closer to his. Despite their situation, Jonathan and Kirko were still human after all and Kiriko's human needs, as well as Jonathans, needed to be taken care of. Jonathan leaned in towards Kiriko, closing his eyes and holding her cheek with his left hand, wiping away the tear that was about to trail down her face as she slowly began to part her lips with his own. Kiriko gasped lightly from the initial contact but slowly began to reciprocate his passion with hers, pushing her tongue against Jonathans, swirling softly around in his mouth. He caught her tongue with his lips and suckled on it gently for a moment, an erotic gasp escaping from Jonathan's mouth. He pulled away from her before things got out of hand again, but she pushed herself back into his mouth again without a moment's hesitation.
"Kiriko…mmh…what if they come…hmmhph…"
"Fuck 'em…aah…here, put your hand…there..aaahhnn" she said, guiding his right hand into her pants. It was a little hard to get into because of how intricate her uniform was but with enough finagling around her found himself touching her through her underwear.
"Go inside…haaa…Jonathan…" she pleaded with him as she pulled away from his mouth and adjusted herself to allow his fingers to approach her at a better angle.
"Kiriko I-"
"Please…put them in, I need it…you want it…" she said, trying to force him to enter her, desperately needing the relief it would give her at that moment. Jonathan realised that. It was a distraction for her, which was understandable given everything that was going on but he had his own doubts.
I'm only a distraction huh? Is that all I'm good for, Kiriko?...no…she was so honest with me, and I was the one who led her along to Hanamura today. I should give her the respite she needs for now…I owe it to her.
He slowly moved his fingers inside of Kiriko's vagina, carefully pressing against her walls with his index and middle fingers, while haphazardly looking for her clitoris with his thumb. I've never, ever, been good at finding this damn thing…he thought as he tried looking down with one eye half open. Kiriko felt his frustration and used her free hand to guide his thumb to the place where it needed to be.
"AHN!" she moaned as he began to rub her most sensitive part slowly. Her mind was racing with thoughts of nothing but pleasure. Kiriko felt selfish but she needed the reprieve if only for these brief moments. She couldn't go after the Hashimoto by herself, even with her inner power being what it was. She needed the help of Jonathan, McCree and the Shimada what was the first time since her days after high school, Kiriko could feel like she could rely on others even if it was for own selfish gain. She felt…happy, though right now much of that happiness could be attributed to her boyfriends escapades inside her vagina.
"I'm close…aaahhhh I'm so…so..clooooseee jonathaaaNNNNNNNNNNN! AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHNNNN!" Kiriko wailed out as her hips quivered and gave way from under her, her orgasm shooting itself all over Jonathan's arm. He had rolled up his sleeves previously, a move he was thankful for as he took his sticky fingers out of Kiriko's body, moving her body aside from him for the time being. The air quickly became filled by their panting, moreso from Kiriko.
"I…ha…ha….that was….incredible…Jonathan…ha..ha…" Kiriko muttered out, trying to catch her breath. Jonathan took a deep breath, trying to calm his raging erection down, coming to terms with the fact that the time for them to leave was coming closer and closer and Kiriko didn't seem like she wanted to return the favour, at least immediately. He readjusted himself on the couch before standing up to leave the room.
"Better go wash myself before the guys call for us, don't want them thinking we're being unprofessional or something, haha" he said awkwardly as Kiriko was still trying to cool herself off.
"Y-Yeah….hah…good idea…" she said, putting her underwear back on and readjusting her maiden uniform. Jonathan left the room, making his way to a nearby bathroom on the same floor. He looked into his reflection as he washed his hands, and a feeling of sadness quickly washed over him.
What am I even supposed to be feeling right now? She's acting weird all of a sudden…maybe I should talk to her once the missions over. I know it's rough on her right now, and I know how she feels having a loved one in this situation…ugh, man I gotta be more compassionate sometimes.
As Jonathan exited the bathroom, he bumped into Genji who was hurriedly heading towards the break room.
"Oh, Jonathan-san. Perfect timing. We're about ready to go out…though there's a bit of a problem"
"Oh man, what now…" Jonathan said in an annoyed tone.
"It's McCree…he doesn't want to come"
Angela's Location, Time Uncertain
"You think that you can't break, Angie? You think I don't know every little trick in the book?" Hana said, looking over Angela Ziegler's vulnerable body with a look of disgust. "Man, you are some looker but you're a real piece of shit in HERE!" Hana said, hitting the left side of Angela's chest with a violent straight punch from her left arm. Angela wailed out in pain, but she couldn't break. She couldn't submit to the Hashimoto, or else God knows what could happen to those people she still cared about. Jonathan…Genji…
….Jesse too, even after all that happened she thought.
"You don't know how much you and your meddling around on that night cost me…I was this close to the perfect life, the life I always dreamed of when I was growing up in Korea without a single person who paid an ounce of attention to me…but you, you were surrounded by people who pampered you with praise and affection…" she struck Angela again, this time in the stomach, causing the Swiss woman to hunch forward and cough violently. No blood yet, but still a painful strike to take nonetheless she thought.
"You…have no idea Hana…it wasn't easy for me either" Angela whimpered out, trying to pull her head up to look into Hana's eyes.
"Shut up you fucking whore" Hana's words caused Angela to wince, slightly. "Oh, caught a nerve did I? It's true though isn't it? After you finished high school you drifted your way through UCLA fucking each and every man or woman or whoever would come your way" Hana said with a smirk, knowing she had Angela backed into a figurative corner, right where she wanted her.
"How did…you know about that…" Angela said in disbelief.
"You think I didn't keep tabs on you all after we finished school? I know I didn't graduate with the rest of you all…what was it that Principal Winston said it was…a "mental health break"? Ha! Still though Angela, it was easy keeping track of you. So popular in the medical world, and a real bookworm…wasn't the only kind of worm you liked though, hmm? Hahaha" Hana laughed as she bent down to look Angela in the eye again, this time with a sweet but sadistic smile on her face.
"Jiyeon was the key. To be honest, I couldn't have done it without Hashimoto-sama, however once I got Jiyeon in a state of panic…it was too easy to persuade her to be my double."
"Why would she agree to something so sick and twisted?"
"Because I made her, Angela. Man, you really couldn't figure it out, huh? The Widow's Kiss is truly a magnificent power but it has its drawbacks too. I could take over Jiyeon's body through mental wavelength manipulation, essentially using her electromagnetic space, electrical field and brain waves as my own. Since we're so similar on the genetic level-
"- the Archaeon programming could be transferred from one person to the next with the original host acting as a controller for the other…oh mein godt…" Angela muttered out, a state of horror overcoming her being. "...you brainwashed her!" she shouted out.
"Hmm, I guess you could call it that" Hana said with a shrug. "But..it was still me Angela. I said those words and I walked that walk. When Jiyeon was about to be hit, I simply let her back in control of herself. It's limited, though. I could only control those I shared my blood with" Hana said, turning her attention to Angela's body. "You are quite pretty Angie, but I don't think this body deserves to be so pristine anymore, hehehe!" she said, jumping up from her crouched position and turning back to her table.
"Is that why you did that to Jonathan's chest? You wanted a pet human or something sick like that?" Angela said defiantly.
"Nono, Angela. Jonathan…said some silly things and he needed to be punished for it! Simple as!" said Hana with a cheeky, evil smile as she began approaching Angela again, this time with a needle in her hand.
"What the hell is that?!" Angela said frightened, her eyes widening more and more as Hana drew closer and closer to her.
"Oh this? This is a prototype drug that we've been developing. It's gotten good results in the experimental trials but we've never…done a human test before, hehe!" Hana grinned as she ripped Angela's shirt from her body, leaving only her elegantly laced black bra covering her ample chest.
"Hmph, stealing my style from me? You always were a meanie, Angie!" Hana said with a pout before turning her attention back to Angela's body.
"What are you d-d-doing to me? S-Stop Hana!" Angela pleaded as Hana lightly traced the needles tip over Angela's breasts.
"This drug has the DNA of Hiromi Hashimoto inside of it, along with some aphrodisiacs, steroids and suppressants, among other things" Hana said, stopping the needles right above Angela's heart.
Her DNA? An aphrodisiac? But what good would that do in a narcoti-
"AHHH!" Angela let out a small cry as Hana stabbed her with the needle, the drug now coursing its way through Angela's circulatory system towards her brain.
"Oh, I forgot to mention…." Hana began to say as Angela began to slowly lose consciousness.
"...wha…"
"Hiromi….is…..aeon…oo…hee…..ha!"
Angela Ziegler once again found herself in a world of darkness, uncertain of what the drug that was now shooting its way through her body was doing to her.
V…iv…ian….
Hana walked away from the Swiss doctor, satisfied with her work before pulling out her now ringing phone. It was Hiromi on the other end.
"Hashimoto-sama, it's me. Yeah. She's been infused. That's right. Nobody else knows but me. Nobody else knows that….
….you're the third one"
Vivian Chase's Apartment, New Queen Street, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, August 7th 202X, 01:00AM
It was another long day at the office for Vivian Chase, especially without as much of a text from Angela. Vivian began to worry. She knew that Angela was always a distant person, but even when Angela was acting as her most distant self, she still made time to text Vivian even just a simple hello. That damn woman…why do I even care about her so much? I keep askin' myself that everyday but I still can't seem to find the answer. She works so hard to help everyone…includin' me. Vivian's thoughts raced through her mind like an Indy Car gunnin' for the gold, no red flags in sight. She hated this feeling she constantly had. The fear. She always felt like Angela didn't feel the same way towards her. It'd been two years since she first met Angela at a bar somewhere in Toronto. She was on a work visit here, and she seemed so lonely at that bar…her mind wandered back to a time when she was still figuring things out about herself, about the world she lived in. It was Angela that helped Vivian realise who she was. Not only as a pansexual woman, but as an emotional being. She'd been too focused on trying to impress her parents and prove to them she was worthy of protecting Canada that she forgot what it meant to be a human being with real emotions, flaws and vulnerabilities.
That night, she invited me back to her hotel room, but we didn't do anything. We just talked for hours on end…she told me she'd never been as open with anyone from after high school before. She didn't like talkin' about love or anythin' like that though. Still doesn't really. I don't know what happened to her but…I wish she'd open up just that little bit more.
Vivian opened up her laptop, looking over at the clock on her wall briefly. "1 AM huh, guess I'm lucky that Captain Rutledge let me off for a few weeks…" she said to herself quietly. She looked at the calender program on her laptop, most of her upcoming days were marked with "ange in japan". She quickly opened up a flight price comparison website and looked up prices of flights to Tokyo from Toronto.
No…I should give her some space. She's there for work after all and besides, her friend Jonathan's there with her. I'm sure she wants to catch up with him and all that. They haven't seen each other in years.
But…I can't help but worry about her. She's so methodical with her texting and calling. She wouldn't miss one unless something happened to her. I can't get this feeling out of my fuckin' head…
Vivian took in a deep breath and decided - against her better judgement - to book herself a flight to Tokyo. She decided against telling Angela until she got to the city. A surprise would do her nicely, if she's okay that is. I know where she was staying too so I don't think that finding her will be too hard. She quickly closed her laptop before throwing herself into her small, dainty wooden bed.
Man…I gotta get a new one of these, and soon…she thought as she drifted into a slumber.
Shimada Building, Tokyo, 16:15PM
"I just…I can't face Ziegler. Not right now, Bigshot" McCree said, looking away from Jonathan in shame. He knew he couldn't look at the man who he thought he could protect but constantly failed at doing so. "She hates me, and rightfully so. I ain't got a right in heaven to go and save her after what I said to her last night" he said solemnly, though he knew that it was what Angela said to him that was hurting him the most. It really had been twenty years since McCree had to kill the woman he loved to stop a terrorist threat in New Mexico. No matter how many days had passed, Jesse felt like it was only yesterday he was staring at Elizabeth Ashe through the iron sights of the Peacekeeper revolver.
A sight he wished he could forget.
"Jesse, I don't know what you two said but…Angela needs you. She's being held captive by a fuckin' crime gang for fucks sake! We've been through this befo-"
"It ain't like before, Bigshot. This ain't some world hoppin' adventure with a ragtag group of 'heroes' like that shitshow in Korea. This is personal. They want her" he said, pointing at Kiriko, who rolled her eyes and went back to adjusting her Kunai on her uniform. "We're putting her and you at risk Bigshot, I don't wanna be the one who has to tell your mother that somethin' bad is after happenin' to you because I messed up again…" he said, walking away from Jonathan before sitting back down at the desk beside him. "Ziegler needs you, not me, right now. You're strong enough to face Song and whatever those Hashimoto guys have in store for you…but, not me. Not right now." Jonathan looked at McCree with a sad expression, one filled with disappointment.
"You've changed, McCree…" he said, not satisfied with the cowboys actions. Jonathan hated how distant he felt from his former teacher but with the way McCree had been acting towards him, he felt like he had no choice.
Something's not right. I have no idea what they said to each other but the old McCree wouldn't have let this get in the way of saving someone he cared about from a situation like this. Jonathan quickly gave Genji a look, and Genji nodded at him in response.
"Hanzo" Genji called out to his brother. "Get these two into the car" he said, commanding his older brother in a respectful manner. "Jonathan, before you go, take this" said Genji, handing what looked to be a long Katana to Jonathan.
"A Katana?"
"Mmm. The Dragonblade. It's a prototype we've been working on here. The scabbard contains a gas powered seal that rotates sound energy around the blade while it's sheathed, maintaining its sharpness at all times while also providing the blade with an enhanced offensive maneuver."
"Oh?" asked Jonathan, curiously.
"When you press the trigger on the swords hilt, the gas within the scabbard will decompress and envelop the sound energy onto the blade for a few seconds, if you swing once in that timeframe the energy will dissipate off of the blade, essentially giving you a projectile."
"Wait, a fucking projectile? For real?" Jonathan said in disbelief.
"Yeah but the energy builds slowly. Realistically you can only fire off one 'air-blade' as I call it, per hour of the sword being sheathed."
"One shot on a one hour recharge…better make it count…" said Jonathan, slinging the sheathed Dragonblade over his shoulder as he followed Kiriko and Hanzo outside. Genji turned his attention back to Jesse, signalling to the others he'd be right behind them.
"Jesse…it was about Elizabeth, wasn't it?" Genji said to the cowboy with compassion.
"Tch, that obvious, huh?" Jesse said with a sarcastic grin on his face. "It hurt me, y'know, to hear her rip me apart like that…I've always seen Angela as like, a daughter of mine. Hearing her say that really felt like I was stabbed right in the ol' ticker."
"Jesse, Angela's a grown woman now. You've known her a long time but, like anyone else, she's changed a lot in ten years of knowing her. She's grown up. Have you?"
"What do you mean, Genji?" Jesse said standing up in defiance, a wave of anger washing over his vocal inflection.
"You know what I mean. It's not easy having to kill someone. You never get used to it, ever. But you and I have killed countless people in the name of 'peace'. On the battlefield, things like "love" don't matter if you can't protect the ones closest to you. Elizabeth made a choice, Jesse. She made a choice to join a world of hatred and crime, and do you know why? I don't. We never will know why" Genji said in a gruff but honourable tone. "I'm not trying to belittle your feelings or anything but if you need to wallow in your sorrows before you can actually get up and face the music to protect someone that you literally just said feels like a daughter to you, then by all means, continue to feel sorry for yourself". Genji turned around and began walking away, leaving an awestruck McCree to think on his feelings. Before leaving though, Genji had only one more thing to say to his old partner;
"We'll be at the Hashimoto buildings in Shinjuku. They're not far from here. If your resolve can steel quickly enough, meet us there."
As Genji closed the door behind him, the man once known as the Pale Rider slammed the desk in front of him in anger. Not anger at the man who was in the room moments before, but anger at the man that he himself had become.
Hashimoto Building, Shinjuku, 16:45 PM
"I should have known this day was coming, sooner rather than later too" the woman known as Asa Yamagami spat out towards her captor, Hiromi Hashimoto, who just got off what seemed like an important phone call.
"Yamagami-san, it indeed was a long time coming but your daughter owes us a lot of money, please understand that business is simply business and that it's nothing person-"
"To hell with that. You know as well as I that my husband left Kiriko with that debt because he knew you'd kill him if he didn't pay it back."
"Correct" Hiromi said with a pleasant smile, one that visibly irked Asa.
"Why not me? Why not someone who could work to pay it off?"
"Someone who works for the police would make a lot of trouble for us to…convince them into paying their debt back, given our line of work."
"'Work' huh? You mean gunrunning, drug laundering, illegal prostitution and coercion" Asa said with venom in her voice. Hiromi rolled her eyes before putting her smile back on.
"As expected of such a diligent officer of the law, though given that you are a mere desk grunt, it's hardly as if you haven't had the time to brush up on your code of honour and laws, hmm? All that thumb twiddling you lot seem to be doing at the Chiyoda office has been beneficial to us but it doesn't seem like you've gotten much action other than paperwork these days, Yamagami-san" Hiromi said playfully, trying to provoke the firmly tied up Asa. "You are now performing the first real bit of work you've done in years. Once your daughter gets here, and she will come here given how protective she's been of you, we'll have her settle the debt one way…" her eyes shifted away from Asa towards an ornately designed black and red katana that was hanging on the wall.
"...or another"
Asa knew what Kiriko was in for, and she wished she could save her daughter from her own demise but she was completely powerless in that moment.
Kiriko…I hope you've been training well.
Your life depends on it!
(Authors Note: Hey, it's been a while. Sorry about the lack of updates these past two or so weeks. Despite having a lot more free time on my hands I'm finding it hard to really come up with a lot of quality, lengthy chapters to satisfy you guys. This was a good one though, especially the second half I think! Jonathan has questions of Kiriko. Kiriko knows she can't run from her past for much longer, with her destined date with the Hashimoto clan upon her. Jesse's will has faltered as Angela falls into a deeper peril. Hana prepares herself for her next challenge, one that she is confident in facing as the next chapter of the Operation Sakura Arc will feature a confrontation that draws all our heroes and villains into the fray. Thanks for the feedback, please keep it coming. If you have any suggestions as to what you would like to see from certain characters, please let me know! See you all next time.)
