Okay, if you aren't truly American, or living under a huge rock, then you don't know what happened to the president last week. Donald J. Trump, the 45th President of the United States, has been impeached due to obstruction of Congress, and abuse of power.
Now if you know Trump, and what he has done as president, it doesn't come as a surprise to why he was impeached. His actions on the job gave plenty of hints to why he was the impeachable type.
He had placed a travel ban on Muslims so that they can't travel to Muslim countries. He separated kids from their parents who came to this country illegally. He triggered China into a trade war. He did more things, but these are all I'm going to talk about.
This all started when he made a call with Ukraine. Apparently, he wanted info on his opponents for the 2020 election. This reminds me of how Russia was connected to the 2016 elections. Coincidence? I think not! Actually, I don't really know, but it's a possibility.
Our family had been divided since Trump took office, and during the elections. But despite this new light on Trump, Stan and Roger still support him 100%. They are still convinced that he is the man that will make America great again.
Now, he's still in office. His trial in January will determine if he remains in office or not. And since it's his party, it might be unlikely that they'll vote him out. And if they vote him out, Mike Pence, the Vice President, will take over.
Trump is planning for reelection n 2020. But this impeachment will stay with him on his permanent record, whether he likes it or not. He is also the third president to get impeached after Bill Clinton and Andrew Johnson. Richard Nixon reigned before he was impeached. Might've been a smart move if you ask me, taking responsibility for his actions.
This is the first step to removing him from office. Now it's up to the Senate. And there's a high possibility that'll he'll remain in office, but we just have to wait and see.
Also, RIP to the author's aunt who passed away on Thanksgiving morning.
