(Ozpin)

Gazing at the Kingdom from the Bullhead, he sighed. He no idea how to feel, for all his lives, Ozpin never felt conflicting emotions often. On one hand, a Titan was finally felled with no causalities. A Titan that had dismantled whole teams of hunters without batting an eye, defeated by two warriors… only one of which was a hunter.

Granted, the other is a mage with powerful magical drinks to boosts one's abilities to levels far above those a normal hunter was capable of, but there were still only two warriors against what could be practically seen as a demon.

The last Titan slain before Fenrir was four hundred years ago, and it was slain by the armies of an old, legendary heroine… who was also a Maiden. Four centuries ago, thousands of soldiers were required to defeat one… and now all it took was one mage and one hunter.

If the public hears about this, then it would lift the spirits of everyone across every kingdom. Even the worst places would see a boost in morale, and through that, fewer Grimm attacks.

When Ozpin heard about this he felt… relieved. Happy, that the struggle might not be futile. He knew Salem couldn't control the Titans, seeing that if she did, then all the kingdoms would've been destroyed hundreds of years ago.

And with every Titan gone, the huge quantity of mana within them is released into the atmosphere… which then eventually crystallizes into Dust. Not just any Dust, but highly expensive, Star-Quality Dust. The strongest and rarest type there is. Not even the SDC could manage a good supply of those and they're not even on sale to the common folk.

Only people of high status can even afford it. Five crystals being more expensive than the opulent Schnee mansion.

And when one bullet of Star-Quality ice dust is strong enough to freeze a two-story home, you realize how powerful the Titans really are.

...Then again, it wasn't all good news. Tyrian Callows had escaped, and, more importantly, the magic-filled arm of Reid was stolen.

Tyrian escaping is the lesser misfortune of the two, seeing as so many possibilities would be open to Salem should she somehow find a use for the arm and none of them were good. The first thing coming to mind is her extracting the magic and supplying it to her Grimm, her followers, or even; herself.

When Ozpin focused on his sensing, he realized that Reid's magic was completely different from how magic usually works. He couldn't comprehend how, and was baffled that magic so fundamentally different yet so functionally similar could exist… but then he remembered what the boy said.

He wasn't blessed by the Brother gods.

Which answered a lot of questions, but raised others. If not the gods, then who? Who would be powerful enough to grant magic? Magic that grows with the user? Another god?

...Do gods other than the Brothers exist?

Ozpin shakes his head. He doesn't like leaving such important questions unanswered, but he's not certain he can force Reid to spill everything either. They currently have a good relationship with one another and he's fully capable of waiting for Reid to come to him, with immortality comes a degree of patience.

"-you did is irresponsible and idiotic, young man." His assistant scolded the mage in question. "What were you thinking? Qrow is a huntsman, is experienced, and has better judgment. Yet you acted against his decisions?"

Reid looked bored, uncaring as he refused to meet her stern eyes.

"You are a civilian, not a huntsman." She continued. "You could've gotten yourself and Qrow killed, and for what? Because you were overconfident? Fenrir was able to murder two teams of veteran hunters on its own. What hopes did you have of defeating it?"

"This civilian here could kick your ass to next week…" He muttered lowly.

"What was that?"

"I said how are you doing this fine evening, Glynda?" He flashed a smile.

"Unbelievable." Glynda frowned deeply. "You continue to make light of the situation. You'd better learn from this or else you'll-"

"Or else what?" He chuckled condescendingly. "You're gonna give me detention? Oh, wait."

Qrow snorted.

"Such blatant disrespect…" She scowled. "It appears you do need to be disciplined."

"Woah there. At least get me dinner first." He smirked, then pointed at Glynda's tight grip over her… weapon? Semblance focus? He's still not sure. "Heads up though, I hold that in the relationship. So you might get to experience something you're not used to."

"H-how vulgar!" Glynda scoffed, with the dusting of a blush on her face. "Watch your tongue when speaking to your elders, young man!"

"Don't worry, I'll be gentle~"

"You-!"

"That is quite enough." Ozpin sighed. "Mr. Astera, please show my assistant and your elder her due respect. Glynda, please don't let him get under your skin. You've dealt with enough unruly students to know that."

Glynda narrowed her eyes at the smug white-haired brat before looking away.

That's the end of that… he hoped.

"...So, is no one gonna ask about the giant wolf back there?" Qrow suddenly interjected. "Because I still have no idea where it came from."

Reid gazed at the pilot, then turned to Ozpin.

"He's in the know," Ozpin said, prompting the pilot to throw a thumbs-up.

Reid nodded and answered. "He's my familiar."

"...Yeah, okay, but what's that?" Qrow raised a brow. "I don't exactly know enough about this magic mumbo jumbo to know what a 'Familiar' is."

"Well, the long answer is," The boy scratched his cheek. "He's a magical beast that lives to serve me. I can share my magic with him, speak with him telepathically, summon and dismiss him at will, and other neat things."

"And the short answer?"

"A magic pet." He shrugged.

"Familiars are beasts of magic." Ozpin nodded. "But with the world now almost empty of it, they don't exist anymore."

"Oh?" Reid looked at him, a twinkle of interest in his eyes. "So familiars were around back in the day?"

"Indeed." The headmaster confirmed. "Only the most powerful mages and those of high status could obtain them, however. They were, after all, quite rare."

"If that is the case, then how did you get one?" Glynda asked. "If they don't exist anymore, then surely you couldn't have gotten it how they were normally?"

"First of all, Gwyn is a he, not an it." He glared. "Second of all, I've got my own ways, and I'd rather keep them to myself for now."

As Glynda opened her mouth to object, Ozpin beat her to it. "We understand. You do not have to tell us anything you're not comfortable sharing yet."

"Good." He smiled. "Glad we could come to an-"

Just then, the four of them froze at the boom of an explosion in the city. Looking over, it seems that the detonation was in the Hunter's Quarter, which served only to confuse Ozpin. Who in their right mind would attack the place filled to the brim with hunters? Unless it's a Dust accident?

Another explosion, this one a little ways away from the first made it known that no, this was no accident.

Reid scowled, opening the door of the Bullhead.

"Kid, the hell are you doing?!" Qrow shouted, grabbing him by the shoulder, stopping him in place.

"That's where my fucking shop is!" He shouted. "Let go of me right now!"

"Are you out of your mind?!" Glynda aimed her riding crop at him. "Stop this instant!"

"Mr. Astera, a fall from this height could very well kill you." Ozpin warned, gently holding his arm. "I understand your feelings, but please don't do anything rash. There are many hunters nearby, and one of my best students is working for you. They'll surely stop whoever did this."

After a few moments, he calmed down, his tense muscles relaxing slightly as the scowl on his face disappeared, to be replaced by a more neutral look.

"Yeah, you're right." He sighed. "I'm sorry, I got a little heated there."

The three sighed, Qrow letting go of him as did Ozpin.

As soon as Glynda dropped her aim, however, Reid immediately jumped off. Panicking, Qrow tried to grab hold of Reid again, but the mage used his fire to propel himself to the epicenter of the explosion. Glynda cursed under her breath and tried to use her semblance to stop him in place, but a heavy presence descended on the three, freezing them where they stood.

Not until he was too far away did the presence lift, causing Ozpin to grimace.

Gods damned teenagers…

(Velvet)

There is a question Velvet regularly asks herself, and it's simple; "Why?"

Why does everything bad keep happening to her? Is there some god with a grudge against her, or does fate just enjoy fucking with her?

With her Faunus ears, she managed to hear the light steps coming towards her, ducking under the pointy end of a parasol. She grabbed the small girl's hand, then elbowed her in the face. The multi-color haired girl scowled deeply before shattering like glass. She turned to face the infamous thief; Roman Torchwick, who smacked her across the face with his cane.

Velvet struggled to defend herself from the onslaught of Roman's attacks, who was smirking widely at her inability to fight back. Velvet parried the cane, then threw her fist at Roman, but then the small girl interrupted her by stabbing her in the side. Causing Velvet to yelp and jump away, her Aura thankfully mitigating the strike.

The only reason she was able to keep up was because of her Semblance. She copied so many hand-to-hand fighting styles and even mixed them together. Unfortunately, though, she had no weapon to help her against them. Her own was back at Beacon, and she'd need to "refill" it once she used the weapons stored in it.

Thankfully, she had already taken down the weaker mooks rather easily before they could do anything to damage the store.

Why did I build that weapon again? Velvet grimaced. Oh right, because it's cheap.

"Alright, bunny, last warning," Roman said. "I'll let you go and forget about this completely… if you move out of the way and let us go about our business."

Where the hell are all the hunters?! She thought, giving a side glance to where they're supposed to come from. They should've been here ages ago!

"Oh, you don't have to worry about them, bunny." The infamous criminal chuckled. "What kind of criminal d'you think I am? I know hunters better than they know themselves."

...Ah, crap.

"...Will you leave if I ask nicely?"

The small girl smirked in amusement, twirling her parasol as Roman shrugged. "Will you leave if I ask nicely?"

"...No?"

"Then no."

The multi-colored girl shattered, and Velvet felt every hair in her body stand on end as she assumed a defensive pose. She focused her senses, trying to find out where she'll attack from next. Unfortunately, she couldn't keep her focus as Roman aimed his cane at her, shooting a flaming bullet towards her.

If she moved, the bullet would wreck the store behind her, and while her life is more important, she really, really, needs the job.

Damn luck, this is why I'm an atheist! Velvet crossed her arms together in a defensive manner. Fuck you too, gods!

Just then, a figure emerged in front of her, taking the full brunt of the shot. Velvet froze for a second, a pit in her stomach forming, but as the smoke cleared, her eyes widened when her boss turned to look at her. She went to speak, but no words came out as her eyes traveled to his chest. Half of his black leather armor was ripped apart, revealing his sculpted muscles that not even half of Beacon could hope to have.

"Oi, eyes are up here." He smirked, amusement clear in his voice. "You okay?"

She stuttered and stammered, her face bright red as she tried to look away. She… didn't think he was this fit. He was tall and his build was big, but those muscles don't look for show.

"S-sorry, sir." She shook her head.

"Don't worry-"

The pointy end of the parasol came flying at his neck at amazing speed… but Reid simply grabbed the slim arm of the girl, stopping her strike while not even showing any reaction to being attacked.

"-about it."

Wow… She was amazed. No way he's a normal civilian, not with reflexes like that.

The girl tried to pull her arm away, scowling in annoyance as she couldn't budge. His grip was tight, and when the girl tried to push the weapon instead, Reid let go of her parasol, then shot his hands towards her tiny head before she could react, grabbing it tightly.

His hand shone a brilliant blue as an explosion engulfed the girl. She was sent flying back, with Velvet being honestly shocked at this turn of events. She didn't know her boss could fight, and she had no idea what that blue fire was. A Semblance?

"Neo!" Roman called with a scowl, aiming his cane at them.

Reid turned around and sprinted towards Roman, both of his hand bursting in flames. He was fast, faster than any student or teacher she'd seen before, flashing in front of Roman in no time at all. Roman gasped as her boss gut-punched him. Following up, Reid swiped Roman off his feet with a kick, then slammed his face into the ground, shattering the concrete.

The girl, whom she knew now was named Neo, shattered into reality, but froze before her attack for whatever reason, then suddenly fell down unconscious. What Velvet saw made her instincts scream at her to run as far as she could, for Reid's freezing glare made her feel the overwhelming presence he was giving off.

In all her years, she'd never felt something so primal and so utterly terrifying. She had dealt with one of the worst and strongest people on Remnant, yet even he didn't have a presence that made her almost choke for air. What scared her the most, was that she knew whatever this is wasn't directed at her, but even then she felt like she was staring death in the face.

Then, all of a sudden the pressure disappeared, and Velvet gasped. It was then she realized that Reid, as nice as he is, was a monster, if not for anything like his behavior and cruelty, then for his power alone.

"...S-sir?" Velvet called out timidly.

"That ought to be good for advertising." He grinned as he walked back over to her, leaving the criminals' unconscious bodies laying on the ground. "I'm just a powerless civilian, but with the power of these potions, I defeated Roman Torchwick and his accomplice alone!"

"...I-I helped too, sir-"

"Alone!"

"Y-Yes, sir!" She squeaked.

"...Though, you did hold the fort." He smiled at her. "And you didn't have to either, so I'm… inclined to give you a little something for that."

"O-oh, no, you really don't have to." Velvet smiled nervously. "I did as any hunter in training would."

"Sure, and you'll get rewarded as any hunter should." He replied, and a small vial filled with light-yellow liquid appeared in his hand. "See this? Drink this whenever you're feeling a little... unlucky."

"…Unlucky?"

"Trust me, it'll give you good luck."

She… didn't exactly know what to say. She had half a mind to just call him out for his vague bullshit, but that feeling of fear stopped her in her tracks. She feared him for that horrifying presence, thinking that the nice act was really just that, an act, and pissing him off might reveal his true colors.

But… there was also a sense of trust there. He did save her from getting beaten badly, or worse, was nice to her, considering everything that happened, and even the headmaster had vouched for him. So maybe… he's telling the truth?

...She'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now…

"T-thanks, sir." She took it.

...Actually, how did he pull it out of nowhere? Isn't his Semblance pyromancy?

"Sir?"

"Hm?"

"How did you-"

"Ah, there they are." He cut her off, gazing up at the approaching bullhead. "...I am not looking forward to another scolding."

"H-huh?"

"Oh well," He shrugged. "At least she's pretty when she's angry."

"W-what are you…" Looking over at what he gazed at, the color drained from her face, as the scowling face of Glynda Goodwitch stared at them.

...Gods really do hate me, don't they?

(Reid)

Now that I'm back home, almost twice as strong as I was an hour ago, I think I can stop the leveling sprees for a little while to work on my Golems. I'm also a lot tougher than before, so I can hopefully resist explosions to the face with no problem now, seeing that Roman's shitty grenade launcher-cane thing barely fazed me…

It did kinda sting though.

And with Velvet as a witness, I'll be getting easy customers by her advertising. Hell, I didn't even need to beat Roman, because compared to killing Fenrir, detaining a criminal like him is small potatoes.

Conqueror's Haki is one hell of an ability. Too bad it doesn't work on Grimm though… yet.

Genjutsu can work as a temporary "Freeze!" for them though, even if the MP drain is fast.

Going over my stats, I see that my Strength, Vitality, and Charisma are only a few points away from hitting 250, which means new perks. I have 165 points, and bringing them all up to 250 will leave me with 94. Calculating, I spread out the points through all my stats excluding Dexterity, smiling slightly at the increase.

224 + 26 = 250 STR

210 + 40 = 250 VIT

145 + 45 = 190 INT

145 + 45 = 190 WIS

245 + 5 = 250 CHA

126 + 4 = 130 LUK

Perks gained

[Extreme Power] – 250 STR

All physical damage is increased by 50%

[Adaptive Body] – 250 VIT

You'll develop a small but permanent resistance to any physical debuff, like [Poisoned] or [Burned], once inflicted

Only activates once per debuff

[Worthy Leader] – 250 CHA

People will look up to you and are far more willing to follow your orders, regardless of their alignment

Reputation and Affection are slightly easier to gain

Oh, that VIT perk is gonna be handy. With how many people use dust attacks, this'll definitely be a game-changer.

Not like I even need to worry much about human opponents.

The real threat here is the Grimm, especially the Titans. Fenrir was so powerful and was considered the weakest of 8 discovered Titans. There are still nine others to worry about, and if all of them can use magic like Fenrir… I'll need all the power I can get.

Thankfully, I have this to help me

[Titan Slayer]

An honor given to those who defeated at least one of the horrible Titans. Considered as Heroes and Legends, Titan Slayers are said to be the only warriors aside from the Silver-Eyes that could instill fear into the Grimm.

Passive: All stats increase by 5% when fighting against Grimm

Equipped: Damage taken by Titans is reduced by 10%. Damage dealt to Titans is increased by 10%

The passive increase, as small as it is, is a godsend. I use a lot of stat increase items and perks, so adding in that five percent is still significant. The equipped increase is incredible, even though it's aimed at Titans alone.

Still, the next time I pick a fight with a Titan, I'll have an army with me. Being overconfident will just get me killed.

"Are you even listening to me?" Glynda glares at me.

"Yeah yeah, I'm sorry for being reckless, yadda yadda, can you leave now?" I gesture at the front door. "I'm a busy guy, and I still have a lot of work I need to finish. So, if you'd be so kind…"

-5 Reputation with Glynda Goodwitch [50/100]

2 Reputation with Qrow Branwen [72/100]

I probably shouldn't antagonize her, but it's just too fun not to.

I guess Qrow's high REP came from the quest and me saving his life. I don't know what REP does to somebody exactly, but it doesn't seem to be mind control… er, kinda? It's weird. I can see the respect Qrow holds for me in his eyes, but I think anyone would respect me after I did what I did.

At first, I thought high REP would mean best friends or lovers, so only respect for almost maxed REP seems a little… too low.

There is another stage after Reputation.

Oh?

After fully maxing out someone's Reputation, you'll unlock Affection. As its name suggests, it's the stage where people show you true affection and trust.

Uh, no, I'm not into dudes.

Familial affection. Not only romantic or sexual. It is dependent on how you act towards the target.

Ah, yeah. That makes sense.

...So Qrow-bro?

"Mr. Astera, could you please take this seriously?" Glynda sighs, taking off her glasses to rub the bridge of her nose. "Your uncaring attitude and disrespect towards the law are unacceptable. It would do you good to listen to people of authority."

...Ah fuck, now I feel like a dick. She's genuinely worried about me and I'm being an ass to her. I can sense her emotions, and most of them are; worry, relief, and a hint of annoyance.

I honestly don't even think I did anything wrong. Yeah, I might've picked a fight with what people consider a demi-god and jumped off a bullhead a couple of hundred meters above ground, but I did them for good reasons.

I... guess I still owe her an apology though.

"I'm sorry for not listening to you." I sigh. "I… promise I'll do better next time."

3 Reputation with Glynda Goodwitch [53/100]

5 Reputation with Ozpin [90/100]

"That is all I needed to hear." She nodded, a satisfied look on her face, then she turns to Velvet who's standing next to me. "Ms. Scarlatina?"

"Y-yes?"

"...Good work." She smiles. "While reckless, it was very brave of you to stall them without a weapon. More students could learn a thing or two from you."

"T-thanks, Ms. Goodwitch." Velvet smiles back, blushing.

...Man, this is bullshit. Where's my praise? I killed a Titan damn it.

"Mr. Astera," Ozpin speaks. "I'd like to discuss what happened with you tomorrow. Please take a flight to Beacon at 12 PM. General Ironwood, General Slate, and Headmaster Theodore will be present as well. The three of them would like to meet you."

General Slate? That's Vale's general from what I read, but I didn't think he was in the know.

I raise a brow in amusement. "And Lionheart?"

"I'm afraid he's… busy." He replies calmly.

"Heh," I smirk. "Sure, I'll be there."

"Good." He smiles, then turns to the Bullhead. "I believe we've taken up enough of your time. Glynda, Qrow, I need to speak with the two of you… privately."

Qrow's eyes narrowed slightly before he threw up his arms and shrugged. Both him and Glynda followed him to the Bullhead, then the three flew away.

Before they left, I managed to cast Observe on Glynda and Ozpin.

Uh, what's wrong with their luck- oh, right, Qrow.

But damn, Ozpin is a lot stronger than I thought. At first, I wrote him off as around Qrow's level, but there is a clear difference between them. I knew he was smarter and whatever, but he really pushed his body to its limits, didn't he?

And talk about old...

I glance at Velvet. "You can head home if you want," I tell her. "I think you deserve the rest of the day off."

"W-well, um, you said you still had work?" She said. "I can still help."

D'aww that's sweet~

"I'm closing the store I mean." I smile. "I still have work in making potions, not selling them."

"I-I can still help if you teach me how to do it."

"...Are you asking me to reveal my secrets?" I frown.

"W-what?! No, no, that's not what I meant!" She frantically waves her hand, denying what I said.

...I can sense genuine fear from her. Does she think she's losing her job or something?

"I'm joking, Velvet." I chuckle, patting her on the head. "Making potions is a… complicated process. It's faster if I do it by myself."

I mean, that's a lie, but not like she can make potions without magic. All you need to do is grind stuff, add magic, which she doesn't have, and boom, potion or poison.

...I should really start making poisons too. Paralysis, sleep, lethal, amnesia, there's a lot of potential there now that I think about it.

...Maybe Poison Golems?

"O-oh, well, if you say so." She nods, her face frowns sadly a bit as she lowers her head. "I'll be going then…"

"See you tomorrow."

She freezes slightly as I say those words, and I tilt my head slightly to the side in confusion. I can sense surprise, shock, relief, and other positive emotions. Did I say something- oh wait…

I was suppose to grade her today. I totally forgot about that…

I'm guessing she took that as her passing?

"Thank you, sir." She smiles. "I won't let you down."

Yes she did~

She goes inside the store, probably to get her things, then exits, giving me one last beautiful smile before going on her way.

Alright, now that everything is done, I can go and finally focus on Golems. No more dumbass mistakes, no more reckless rituals, and a lot more recording shit in my journal and researching safely. As strong as I am now, I still don't want to get blown up again, because it hurts like fuck.

Even though I'm not the kind of guy who likes studying, it's magic. Who wouldn't want to study magic?

I gaze at Velvet, who I couldn't see anymore. Probably took a detour or something...

...Her bunny ears sure were soft.

(The next day…)

[Golemcrafting] (LV 30/100)

Your skill in Golemcrafting is that of an apprentice

Increases Golemcrafting effectiveness by 30%

Only that many levels after I made over 100 Golems using clay and wood. How did I get clay and wood you ask? Through the Game Store of course. They're extremely cheap, about 100 pieces of firewood for 250 Credits, and seeing that I had over 10k, I think buying a little isn't too bad. I did use a lot of my Credits on expanding my base a bit, and I finally bought the place for real.

Aside from my upper and ground floors, which are completely normal by the way, the underground ones are where I do my research and experiments. The first underground floor is my alchemy room. It's where I grow my stuff, where I put my alchemy table and a lot of potion shelves for decoration. The second layer is just a research room because putting any valuable research next to the experiment room is dumb.

My previous, burned journal can attest to that.

The experiment room is where I do my rituals and crap. It's the biggest because I need a place to put my Golems in.

And speaking of Golems; I made some great progress aside from leveling up.

First off; I can finally make Steel Golems, which makes them my very first competent combat Golems. They're stronger than Beringels individually, and that's incredible for being so low level. I only made a few, 10 to be exact, but progress is progress. I can be patient.

Second, I managed to integrate Dust into my experiments without anything exploding on me. Though I only managed to sprinkle Dust in its powder form, and while that sounds underwhelming, it's still progress. It did increase the MP of Golems and even gave the combat-based ones the ability to use some magic. Their MP is still pathetic, and their magical attacks even more so, but I only used the lowest-quality Dust I had.

High-quality Dust is most likely a lot more effective, seeing that the magic within is more refined and of higher quantity. If I had to give each a certain amount of MP, low-quality would have around 500 whilst high-quality would have about twenty times that. Medium-quality is in between.

It's understandable why high-quality Dust is only used by hunters. It's way more volatile and could explode at any second. It's usually used for bullets and other hunter weapons. Medium-quality is used for stuff like lamps, fridges, air conditioning – which makes it the most used in the world. Low-quality, on the other hand, is used for small, and easily replaceable things. Lighters, flashlights, and that kind of stuff.

Then, there's the military-quality Dust, and as the name suggests, is used in the military. Usually for weapons of war, like bombs and shit.

Then there's the "Star-Quality Dust", rumored to have "Fallen from the stars" or something. No one really uses it for anything. Rich people have it just to flaunt around their money.

Kinda stupid, but whatever.

Anyway, I got off track; Golemcrafting is coming along nicely, and since I unlocked telepathic commands after reaching level 25, I definitely chose the right thing by agreeing to Mysterious God's offer.

If I have to guess when I'd be able to use crystallized Dust in my experiments, I'd say level 50 Golemcrafting and third stage Ritual Circle, so I'm not very far off. I'm not exactly sure of course, but again, experimenting is fun- safe experimenting is fun.

I can't wait until I can use this as a base metal for my Golem… It's probably taking me a long while though.

I either use it for Golems… or use it for armor.

Cryolite Bar x10

Metal infused with intense, frigid mana released by a powerful and enraged ice god, then encased and forgotten deep under a snowy peak, Cryolite was discovered by a group of zealots after approximately one hundred years.

Touched by the god's faint divine energy, this metal can be used to create powerful armor and weapons, but it requires a specific skill of a blacksmith to mold it, for not even the fires of hell can thaw it.

I got this as the "High-Tier Bar" in Fenrir's quest. I don't know why it's ice when Fenrir used lightning, but I'm guessing it was randomly chosen as a reward. Still looks insanely powerful, though.

It looks like a normal bar of blue ice but it had a strange, purple, and icy blue glow, and I can feel the cold mana around it. I literally shivered from how cold it is when I first got it out of my inventory.

...Yeah, I don't think Cryolite Armor is happening, unfortunately. I probably need to be like level 100 in blacksmithing to use it, and it needs a specific skill? Probably not any time soon...

And it had such cool lore too…

3 Reputation with ? [10/100]

...Riiiight.

From what series is it anyway? I don't think I've heard of Cryolite before…

Oh you know… not everything has to be from something you know, right?

...That's true. I didn't watch/read/play every single form of entertainment media after all.

Oh well, I'll at least be able to make Cryolite Golems from it, and that little "Divinity" comment is just making me too excited. Besides, it's a magical metal, so that means Golems with powerful mana.

"And this elevator ride sure is taking too long, isn't it?"

Just as I say that, the elevator pings and the door opens, revealing Ozpin's large office. The people inside all turn to me, and I take a good look at them as I step inside.

Ironwood looks as he did in the first few volumes of the show. Shame, I really liked his beard.

Ozpin looks the same as yesterday, and I am a little surprised to not see Glynda or Qrow in here… but then again, there are two people I don't recognize inside.

One was a tall man, with black hair in a short ponytail. His sharp eyes were a deep purple, with a scar running over his left one. His build was lean, slightly thinner than mine, but bulkier than Qrow's, and he wore a black and purple military suit adorned with many badges. A black sheathe decorated with purple flowers is strapped on his waist, his grip over it tight.

Huh… He's slightly stronger than Qrow. I mean, yeah, he's the general, so he must be strong in some way, but I didn't expect this at all.

The other man, Theodore, Headmaster of Shade, looks a little… uh, flamboyant? Definitely, and especially for his old age.

His dark-brown hair was almost shaven off, settling for a close cut. His frame was thin, and he wore a sky-blue and white checkered vest to show it, but I can see the muscles there. He also wore an ankle-length blue cape clasped onto his shoulders with a silver chain, a silver belt with a round buckle, matching boots, and bright white slacks with deep side pockets. He wore red gloves, and I can see certain colorful lines adorning it, indicating that these gloves are his weapons.

Jesus Christ, this guy is even stronger than Ozpin! How the hell? Is it some sort of a passive Semblance or something? I mean, I remember reading about how Vacuo hunters are insanely powerful, but I didn't think it was by this much.

Geez…

"Ah, you're finally here." Ozpin smiled from his desk as I walk in, then he stood up to gesture to Ironwood. "This is the General of Atlas as well as the Headmaster of Atlas Academy, James Ironwood. James, this is the one who saved Amber, and the one with the revolutionary potions."

James smiled and extended his arm towards me. "It's nice to meet you, Mr. Astera."

I take his hand and smile back. "To you as well."

...You know, I expected to sense a lot from him. Paranoia, distrust, etc… but I definitely did not expect gratitude, relief, and trust.

I… guess I owe him an apology too? For thinking he's some kind of a paranoid maniac?

"This here," Ozpin said, gesturing to Onyx. "Is Onyx Slate, the General of Vale."

He nods silently, prompting me to nod back.

"And finally-"

"Upupup, Ozpin." Theodore chuckles and shakes his head. "I can introduce myself just fine. Ahem, I am Theodore Fyie, but you can just call me Theodore."

"Well, if that's the case, then you can call me Reid." I shrug. "It's only fair."

5 Reputation with Theodore Fyie [60/100]

Already that high? Damn…

"Oh, I'm sure we'll be getting alone just fine my friend!"

"I think so too…" I turn to Ozpin. "So… any reason why I'm here? I told you we can talk after I'm done mass-producing the potions."

"No, no, you're not here for that. First, we'd like to congratulate you on being the first Titan slayers in hundreds of years." He bows his head. "And… thank you for risking your life, and taking responsibility when you didn't have to."

"Eh, no biggie." I shrug. "I had no way of running from it. I either fight or die, so I chose to fight."

...You know, I say that, but I never thought my ego could get this big. The Headmaster of Beacon, one of the strongest and oldest people in Remnant is bowing to me. How can it get better than this?

"Mr. Astera, defeating a Titan is something we can only dream of," Ironwood says. "For you to defeat one, with no causalities at all is… frankly I'd have thought it the work of fiction had I not trusted my source."

"...Isn't it the weakest Titan though?" I cross my arms. "There are still seven more Titans, and every single one of them stronger than Fenrir."

"That's true." Onyx nods. "But you're forgetting the fact that Fenrir was an active Titan. The others stay in hibernation, and have not made any moves to threaten the Kingdoms."

"Fenrir had been a thorn in our side for years." Theodore sighs. "He doesn't stay in a single place, traveling from one kingdom to another for victims."

"It knew that staying in one place for too long would bring the wrath of a kingdom down on its head." Ozpin continues. "It was very intelligent, far too smart for us to track down and kill. It kept going to a different location at the most random times."

"But wait, hold on." I stop them. "The only way to get to Mistral or Atlas is via a boat or bullhead. How the hell did it go there?"

"It hijacks a boat on the way by swimming under it, slaughters everyone on board, then pilots it by itself," Onyx answers blankly. "It kills silently and quickly so the civilians wouldn't be able to send a distress signal."

"Jesus Christ…" I mutter. "It can drive boats?"

"Pilot a Bullhead, drive a car, it had even been observed to use a greatsword skillfully." Ironwood nods with a sigh. "You have no idea how lucky you are to have faced it unarmed."

...Hahaha, I really am lucky.

Holy shit…

"Now you realize how great of a service to the world killing Fenrir is," Ozpin says. "Which brings us the reason why I called you here."

"Reid Astera," Ironwood says. "Would you like to be officially recognized as the very first Titan Slayer in centuries?"

"...That would entail…?"

"A mansion in the Golden Corner, fame, celebrity status, and the support of the four kingdoms." Ozpin lists off.

"And a whole lot of money!" Theodore adds.

...You know, I tried, I really tried.

But I just couldn't stop the huge grin almost splitting my face.
