Disney's latest film is Encanto, set in Colombia, and it's very bright, full of life, and absolutely sprinkled with Disney magic. And this one is in theaters first before Disney Plus.

Before the film, there is a short about a cute little raccoon and his mom. But enough about that, now is what you came here for, Encanto.

Encanto is about Mirabel and her family. Everyone in it has magical powers except for her. But despite not being magic like her family, she's happy to just be with her family.

Soon after her young cousin gets his gift to talk and understand animals, she starts to notice strange things happening to the house, that it is starting to crack. She then has to find her uncle, disowned by the family, and restore the magic.

Because the house responds to whatever Mirabel commands it to (if you see the film, you'll know what I mean), I thought that could be her power, but nope, apparently that's not the case.

The music in this is all really good, because they're all composed by Lin-Manural Miranda. Boy, that guy was busy this year with Vivo, Tick, Tick Boom, In the Heights and this film. He can do no wrong. I might have already said this, but I'll say it again. You can never disappoint, Lin!

It's nice that Disney is releasing more original works instead of sequels and unnecessary live-action reboots. So because this isn't on Disney Plus right away, go see it (if you trust going out that is, but at this point, who isn't?). You'll be enchanted by Encanto.
